Vampyres vs Slayers

Artemis struggled. She punched his arm in a desperate attempt to get free. She wished she had skipped over this town like she had originally planned. Then she wouldn't have been through any of what happened.

"Only scum kill their own kind for no reason," Felix told the Vampyre before him plainly, his katana half-unsheathed, "That's why I dislike humans. Besides, if you kill her, I'd be bringing you in soon, anyway. Fighting you now saves me time."

Kami stumbled away from the other werewolf, fighting to regain her balance and to remain upright. She spun back around to face him, a low growl issueing forth from her throat.

It hardly even hurt him... She stared at the spot the dagger had made its mark on his skin, in shock over the turn of events.

Unbidden, a memory rose up.

"Javy, why are there so many different legends about us?"

He turned his gentle brown eyes on her and smiled slightly as he ruffled her hair. "Why do you think, Pup?"

She frowned and folded her arms across her chest, glaring at him. "If I knew the answer to the questions, I wouldn't have asked."

He didn't say anything for a moment, but instead simply tilted his head up at the night sky. She waited, somewhat impatiently, for him to mull over his thoughts, or whatever it was he did when he was silent.

"Like each kind of animal has different breeds, we have different... types. You and I, we are of the same kind of werewolf. However, I have come across others in my travels who are different, and who have different attributes as a result."

"Oh."

Then the memory was gone, leaving behind tears in Kami's eyes.

She ignored them and instead slowly started to circle him again, this time much more warily than before.

(I figured that it's easier have different werewolf 'breeds', per say, since our concepts of werewolves seem to differ somewhat.)

Count Kinkel watched the growing situation with interest. Hmm...that man, holding the half-Vampire hostage....he seemed familiar. But where could he have seen him before? Hmm....it troubled to Count not to know where he had seen him before. Who was this man?

Kadon slowly walked over to the side to get a better view of the growing conflict between the three vampires. Interesting. His target was not among them, but this still proved to be an interesting show. He loved it when Vampires fought each other. It was times like this he wished another civil war was going between their kind. The last one had ended over two hundred years ago.

Artemis gave up her struggle, standing with her head hung. She knew there was no point trying to get loose. She would either be saved by the man with th katana, or dragged off by Cabe.

IC: Cabe

"If you attempt to fight me," replied Cabe, "you'll die. Stay out of the way little boy."

Cabe put an arm around Artemis's neck and began to squeeze, much like he had down to the bartendress before the blood was drained from her body.

IC: Jack

"What?" asked Jack.

"What were you expecting? That I would yield like a scolded pup? You've never met a Werewolf, have you girl?"

He roared and pounced towards Kami.

Artemis gasped for air. Her throat was closing. She remembered something she had learned, she went limp, pretended to faint. He would continue for a few moments until he though she was dead, but she'd really be unconscious, when she awoke she could run.

((That's what our sciece teacher told us to do if somebody tried to suffocate us.))

Kami jumped back, dodging his attack.

What do I do? What do I do?

What had she done before? Her Wolf snarled, fighting to be free. No, that was a bad idea. She couldn't run and she couldn't lose control. She would just have to see this through, and throw all caution to the wind.

"I..." she drifted off, unable to answer his question.

Then, with a snarl, she dropped down on all fours and lunged at him, her teeth aimed for his throat.

Felix frowned, "You know. I really hate it when people call me boy."
With that said, he drew his katana and slashed at the Vampyre's face.

((Yeah, me too, somebody asked what to d if sombody tried to smother you with a pillow and that's what she said. she also said "If you're babysitting and the kid starts to hold their breathe to get what they want, just let them faint, they'll start breathing again when they faint ayway"))

IC: Jack

Jack's eyes widened and he managed to catch Kami's wrists. He was pinned to the ground, but it was then he noticed her fangs that were snarling to get at his neck.

"You're a...you can't be..."

With a roar he threw Kami off him, dropping to all fours.

"You're a Werewolf?!"

IC: Cabe

Cabe threw Artemis aside, and she went crashing into several annoyed dancers. Cabe raised his hand and wrapped it around Felix's Katana before it reached him. There was the sound of cutting flesh as the sword tore at his palm. However, he did not release it, and merely stared curiously at Felix as blood began to flow from his hand. However, instead of dripping to the floor, this blood seem to come alive, quickly covering Felix's sword like slithering snakes. It spread up to his shoulder before Cabe released the blade.

The blood now covering Felix's arm and sword hardened, binding the blade and arm in a shell.

"Vampyres should not be self-righteous," he said, and in a flash had knocked Felix next to Artemis.

"I'm a patient man."

Kami chuckled darkly as she climbed back to her feet, her body still crouched down low.

"You're the poorest excuse for one of us that I've ever seen," she said to him as she curled her fingers into fist and then uncurled them. She was itching to place them around her foe and squeeze, but she waited, curious as to what he was going to say.

Felix grunted as he stood up, shaking the blood from his body before he stood up and wiped his blade. He took a stance he had learned when he visited Japan a century before. He cocked an eyebrow, "I may be a Vampyre but I live according to my sense of honor."
He took out a flask from one of his pockets and poured some water on his blade, making the remaining blood smouder and wither away. The Bounty Hunter spoke, "I'm a patient man too."

IC: Jack

"You've seen more of us?!" exclaimed Jack.

"I've never met another Werewolf before..."

"That's why we couldn't recognize her scent."

Jack roared, readying himself to charge.

"You'll regret that. I'm plenty stronger than you, girl."

He used his speed to rush around, charging forward in an attempt to ram her side.

IC: Cabe

By now the other dancers had become aware of the fight going on, and most weren't happy with it.

"Whoever started this fight needs to get out!" someone yelled, and the crowd cheered its agreement.

"Certainly. As soon as I get what I came for. Girl..."

He nodded towards Artemis.

"Time for us to go."

"No." She said defiantly. She reached into the kether bag she had around her shoulder. She pulled out a dagger. She regained her composure and stood next to Felix. She stood in a fighting stance, holding one hand out in front of her in an inside-out block and the hand gripping the dagger in a high block, the first move from pyang ahn Idon, one of her favorite forms.

"Stronger, maybe," she grunted as she spun away from him. "But my smaller size gives me more speed.

Yes, that might be the way to win this fight.

"Besides, you've never fought against the likes of us before. What makes you so sure you can win?"

And doubt. Speed and doubt. That's the way to do it.

IC: Jack

Jack blinked at her.

"Ignore her. She may be fast but we've seen that her attacks can't hurt us."

"What can I say?" he said, grinning to reveal his fangs.

"I'm a confident guy. What about you? Afraid I'm going to flatten you to the ground?"

Felix smirked as he twirled his katana, "You heard the lady. She obviously doesn't like your company. I suggest you leave before things get bloody."

Artemis grinned. "He's right." She pointed out quickly. "I'm not going with you, so leave now please."

Kami laughed again, her laughter seeming both bright and confident... and a little forced. No, she didn't know if she could win this. Yes, she was sure as heck going to try.

"I'm not afraid," she said as she took a step back. Then, with a grin and a wink, she took off running.

"Catch me if you can!" she called back.

Let the games begin...

IC: Cabe

Cabe gave a low chuckle.

"Oh, things already have...."

There was a scream and the crowd turned towards the backdoor where Sarah the bartendress was clutching the drained shell of her friend. Sarah was crying over her body, whose blank eyes and bloodless face stared at nothing.

"The doorman is missing too!" came a voice from the stairs.

The crowd turned their heads back to Cabe, who was still smiling softly at Felix.

"T-That's....t-that's the Crusnik!" one of the dancers yelled.

The crowd slowly began to back away from Cabe, as if he were some sort of primal beast that would attack if they ran.

"The blood of other Vampyres is so much richer than humans," he said, "But, I haven't had the blood of a half-human, half-vampire for so long...I've forgotten its taste."

IC: Jack

Jack look dumbfounded.

"After her!"

He took off on all fours, chasing after the fleeing Werewolf.

"It's probably a trap."

"She knows she can't hurt us."

"That's my point."

The younger werewolf grinned as she heard him giving chase and she instinctively increased her pace. She ducked into an alleyway and threw herself back against a dumpster. Her breath came fast and hard, but she forced herself to breath slower, to not make a sound.

The second he raced by, she would pounce. Already she had a dagger in her hand, ready to thrust it deep into his shoulder.

"Well, your gonna have to wait a while longer. I sure as hell am not gonna be taken down by some lowlife." She said. She kept her stance, prepared for battle. "Why don't you crawl back under the rock you came from."

Nera kept listening and walked slowly towards the noise. She was frighten and all her sense told her to run, but Nera couldn't bring herself to do it. Her curiousity overloaded her common sense and she allowed her body to move towards what sounded like a fight. She frozen again when she saw it wasn't a normal fight. Two...beast like things were not ten feet away from her. Nera went wide eyed and did what any rational human would do. She scream and bolted the other way.

Hailee walked over to a small 24-hour cafe. She smiled at the waiter and told him she was waiting for someone. Hailee was really just here to let things go stale. She knew better than to be suspicious or near any dead body she left around. Hailee knew she could take the police and anyone else who tried to stop her and that she could leave, but neither option seemed smart to her. She was just fine with playing an innocent until she was forced to go. Beside this place made it so easy.

Felix rolled his eyes. The girl obviously didn't know what a Crusnik was. It was a creature even Vampyres feared. He twirled his katana and grinned, "You have quite a huge bounty on your head. Perhaps I'll collect it."
