Vampyres vs Slayers

Nera wandered down her street. She heard voices and wondered if she should keep going. She didn't want to run into a street fight, but she didn't want to act like some scared little girl. After all it was nothing, right? Just people talking, right? Nera wasn't so sure and she just stood there debating whether to keep walking or to go home.

"You're my problem," she snarled back, sensing his hostility towards her. "Now go away and just leave me alone."

Kami turned her back on him then, deliberately trying to goad him into a fight. As long as she didn't start it, she felt that there was no reason to be guilty for it. Or that's what she told herself.

This stranger, this werewolf, was so similar to what she had lost, but yet so different.

And she didn't like it.

IC: Jack

"That's it!"

Jack growled, flexing his claws, and with a roar he leapt towards the girl's back. Perhaps it was Jack's strong hold over his wolf, but his claws shrank back into his hands and he instead aimed a punch at the girl's back.

"What are you doing?!"

"Getting some answers."

Kami smiled at his roar and instantly spun around to meet his attack. Her free hand wrapped around his wrist, but, much to her horror, she found that he had more strength than she. The fist hit her chest with a thud, knocking her back several steps and forcing her to release her hold on him.

Owie...

She let out a low growl and crouched down low. The knapsack fell back to the ground, for she didn't need it at the moment.

"That does it," she muttered and cracked her knuckles.

Artemis strolled ito the night club in a shabby old black cloak. She had the hood pulled oer her Black ad purple hair, but the striking Puprle color in her eyes was unmistakable. She perched herself at the bar and ordered a beer by raising her hand lazily and putting five dollars on the counter.

IC: Jack

Jack fell to all fours, bearing his fangs, yet he still kept his claws away.

"I'm alot stronger than you, girl," he snarled.

"I'm a Werewolf, you can't match me!"

IC: Cabe

The Crusnik turned his head towards the purple haired girl who took a seat near him. He watched as she ordered not blood, but bear instead. He could tell by her scent she wasn't human, or at least...not fully human.

"Curious choice of drink," he said to her, turning to look over at Artemis.

"You don't find much of it here. You do realize where you are? You might get some strange looks."

She stared at him emotionlessly. "Of course I know where I am, I wouldn't be here if I didn't" She said. "Strang looks? from who?" She cocked her head to the side, but her expression remained emotionless.

Alex reached the blood bank to look for clues.

The lady there gave him a strange look. They didn't usually have a lot of teens going into their building. He told her that he was there for a school project and asked to look around.

He asked about the robbery. Apparently, what made it strange was that the building wasn't broken into. There were however, gallons and gallons of blood missing.

That almost positively meant vampyre activity. He set up a small webcam in the cooler area where the blood was stored. If another vampyre returned, he would know.

IC: Cabe

"Well," answered Cabe, "from me, for one."

He tilted his head to match Artemis's.

"I think you're interesting. Not many Vampyres prefer beer over blood when they have a choice."

"Well I'm not full human, see." She held up her right forefinger, which had a Band-Aid wrapped around it. "Papercut. I don't like human blood, I get it from the blood bank. I'm doing an experiment curently to see if I can thin my dependency on blood, an substitute food. That way, I'll only need a little blood, which can help when im traveling." She explained. "If that makes ay sense, I'm not good at explaining things like that."

IC: Cabe

"I see," replied Cabe.

"So you're half Vampyre, and half Human. Interesting, I don't find many of your kind. You're a rare find indeed."

Cabe smiled slightly, pushing his untouched glass of blood away from him.

"Is there anything special about you? Powers, strengths? What can a hybrid do?"

"Well, im ot affected by the usual stuff, silver bullets (although bullets in general would hurt anyone), holy water, sunlight. I'm actually a catholic, strangely enough. I have wings, and telekinesis, but I'm ot that great with telekinesis, and i prefer dark places. I'm also weaker than the average vampire, if somebody were to attack me in a place where nobody would help me, i'd lose."

Kami barked a laugh as she slowly started to circle him. Without pausing in her steps, she reached down and plucked one of her daggers from the ground.

Careful, she told herself. Be careful.

Her Wolf snarled at her words and she found herself gritting her teeth at the effort it took to stay in control. Fighting was something that she had avoided, for the most part, since everything had gone downhill two years ago. This fight could very well break her fragile control.

"Yes, you are a monster," Kami said to him, her voice soft and sweet. Then her tone changed, becoming a low growl. "But so am I."

IC: Jack

Jack's growl turned into a look of surprise.

"She can't be a..."

He roared, tearing forward on all fours, and leapt towards Kami.

IC: Cabe

"Really..." said Cabe, listening intently.

"You are something. My name is Cabe, and you are...?"

"Artemis." She said. She finished her drink and sat back in her chair. She pulled her hood back, letting her Black and Purple hair flow behind her shoulders. She listened to the music in the club, tapping her foot on the floor to the beat of the song.

IC: Cabe

Cabe smiled slightly and stood, holding out his hand toward Artemis.

"Come on, let's dance. It's better than just staying over here by yourself."

"I can't dance." She said shaking her head. "I think I'd best be heading off now actually. My home is a little while away and I think I'll be traveling to another town tomorrow morning." She thought aloud.

A grim smile made its way across Kami's face and she rushed forward to met the werewolf's challenge. She may have been much younger than her foe, but she was still determined to win dominance over him.

IC: Cabe

"How unfortunate," replied Cabe.

He walked over and took a seat next to Artemis, a strange glint in his white eyes.

"I was hoping we could share a moment before I killed you."

He smiled.

"Women are always so simple to fool, you see."

IC: Jack

Jack growled and met Kami head, making several punches at the girl's head.

"Hold back, and you'll get us killed. Bring out your claws! Fight to kill!"

"No. I can handle it."

Artemis' eyes widened. She backed away a little, pulled in a sharp breathe, and made a desperate sprint to the door, knocking some vampires out of her way as she stumbled.

Kami let the punches hit as she grabbed tightly onto his arm, her rugged nails digging into his flesh. She flipped the dagger around and moved to slam it home into her foe's shoulder.

A small voice in the back of her head told her that she was going to regret this later, but, for the moment, she didn't care.

Felix frowned as he felt a girl be shoved against him. He looked up to see a Vampyre stalking her. He gripped his katana, "She is a Vampyre. You know the Law. Vampyres don't kill their own kind."

Artemis tripped and fell. She looked up at the man with the katana. She jumped up, didn't leave. She didn't want somebody else to get hurt because somebody was after her.

((Hm...I'm hoping to calm down by posting....my temper is rearing it's very ugly head for once in a long time...I yelled at my mom, too...I think I shouldn't have lied about not taking my meds this morning...>,< I was in a rush this morning, but it sure didn't help....))

Miral and Desmond had been "stalking" their "prey" for a good while until the man left the building. He was obviously drunk, for he was stumbling and mumbling oaths and expletives under his breath, not seeing both of them, which made it all the more harder to control his thoughts, as Miral was trying to do. Eventually, she broke into his consciousness through the drunken haze, and stimulated a smell of carrion into his olfactory system. The man clutched his stomach. The two vampyres didn't particularly like the scene of the man hunched over, obviously sick, but it made the hunt easier, and eventually the man fell over, groaning, weak as a day-old kitten from the upheaval of whatever he had in his stomach. Miral let up on the scent, and they swooped in behind the man. He spotted them. "What....are you doing?!" he said loudly, but there were no ears to hear it. Before he got a chance to yell at them, they picked him up and simultaneously bit into his neck, Miral in one side, and Desmond in the other. The man's shriek was cut off, for one of the vampyres bit into his jugular, killing the man instantly. They drank their fill of the bitter-sweet blood, and threw the corpse into a dark alley. The couple was satiated, so they left to do other things, namely visit that vampyre bar/club they'd heard about. Miral unsheathed her wings, and flew up in the air. "Race you..." she said, winking. "You're on..." Desmond challenged.

IC: Jack

Jack let the knife complete its swing, and there was a rough tearing noise. The knife had barely broken his skin, as if Jack's flesh were made of steel. Jack siezed Kami's wrist that held the knife and twisted it, letting the blade fall to the grass. With a roar he grabbed hold of the girl and threw her from him.

"You can't injure me so easily, girl. If you fight a Werewolf, you'd better know how to fight like one!"

IC: Cabe

Cabe approached Felix, Artemis now shielded behind him. The loud music of the nightclub shrouded their voices from the other dancers.

"A Vampyre...who?"

Felix blinked, and Cabe was gone.

"You mean her?"

He was now standing behind the Bounty Hunter, holding tightly onto one of Artemis's arms.

"She's not a true Vampyre; only half. Are you going to stand in my way, boy?"
