Fay - T (Open)

"Come on, kid. You're not doing yourself any favors by fighting us." Said one of the escorting officers, trying not to hurt Morgan while maintaining his grip, "Honestly, we've taken down people so hopped up on nil they couldn't even feel the tranquilizers we put into them. Fighting us really isn't in your best interest."

"Besides," started the other officer, "if you were in trouble, chances are you'd a scorch mark on the pavement somewhere with all the fuss you've given the walking corpse. He may be an officer, but his magical prowess has given him pretty much the authority to do anything."

"Yeah, so be on your best behavior. You're still alive, so either you haven't pushed his buttons enough...or...well, best not to think about that, here we are." He said as they reached the detainment center. "Be good, or we'll have to chain you up, okay?" the officer said sarcastically, as the officers led Kyron and Morgan inside.

"No!" Morgan jumped up and then slammed both of her feet home on the officer's feet to her right. The movement knocked her off balance and she stumbled for a moment before finding her feet again.

This wasn't happening; it couldn't be happening. Her breath was coming fast again, as another panic attack crept up on her. She was powerless. She couldn't do anything. And they could do everything.

"Ow!" cried out the officer as Morgan stomped his feet, her actions sending her off balance. "Ma'am," his radioed in to the Captain, "We have a slight situation with the Raye girl...it may take some time to get her settled in."

The Captain held her head, "I swear, sometimes I feel like the LoP is becoming an intergalactic joke." she said, exasperated as she switched her communication link directly to her personal secure communicator.

"Only because the humans are part of this. Such cascades through their archaic and outdated justice system. Nostalgia has it's drawbacks; stagnation...it's simply a marvel that they have persisted this long..."

"Stagnation?" Queried Xorn as he looked at the creature, its octopus-like head turning to glance at him.

"But of course. The human desire to hold onto that which it has know for so long; clinging to it out of sheer terror of change. Clearly, age has given you wisdom beyond the mortal hindrances of your own kind, good Officer, and surely you can see the fault in them?" inquired the creature, raising a rubbery brow.

Xorn said nothing, as the Captain approached, "Fearful they may be, but this discussion will wait. Xorn, given your fantastic people skills, you'll stay here until I say otherwise. And you," she said looking at the Ilithid, "I want you ready to for the Raye questioning. And don't make the attorney a thrall. He may be annoying, but I do not need to deal with the paperwork for another of your incidences."

The Ilithid chuckled and Xorn did his best to look affronted. The Captain shook her head, holding up a bluish-purple hand, "Don't. I don't know why you even signed up to be an Officer; you're inexperienced and quite honestly unsuited for this line of work...you can't even perform a simple questioning with out disregarding procedure. I have tried to cut you slack, I have, and I'm aware you probably believe you do well enough, but it's only been six months and I'm at my wit's end with you."

Pausing to calm herself down, she looked at Xorn solemnly, "You do good work, really. You have gotten results and helped out, but you've caused me grief. I am trying to play by the humans' rules to make things cohesive, but your actions, though helpful, come back on me, this latest incident is no exception. So...just...stay...here until I call for you." She left the office, trailing an embarrassed lich and a stunned Ilithid in the wake of an exhausted demoness's wake.

"Hm-hm-hm." chuckled the Ilithid, "It would seem that our good Captain is a bit beleaguered. I suppose it is most fortuitous that I've been on my best behavior lately, otherwise, I'd have partaken in your misfortune."

"Indeed," said a crestfallen lich as the tentacle-mawed creature turned to leave. Incidentally, it was at that moment the express extraction came through, the kennel warping under the growing internal force upon the Captain's desk. "Intriguing..." said Xorn, the past few moments set aside.

"I should say so," muttered the Ilithid as he approached the kennel.

Tadi was ready for anything but the sudden transport to a strange place. He stumbled about for a moment before collapsing into a sitting position. Where was...? The thought was interrupted as he caught sight of a strange creature approaching him. He hissed and pressed himself against the back of the kennel once more.

Where had they sent him? This was not in the plan. And... and the Fay. He could hardly feel it. He had been sent off-world! And as a cat!

Nope. This so was not in the plan.

"Morgan! You need to calm down!" Kyron exclaimed, placing a hand on her shoulder and kneeling so that he was face-to-face with her, "Breathe. You need to stay conscious and calm if you want us both to escape."

He looked towards the officers, who had quickly brought them back to their feet. He hated this.

Morgan gave a sharp shake of her head, her eyes still wild. She didn't feel the rush of defiance she had felt earlier, when with the creepy officer, and now all she wanted was to curl up into a ball and cry. She didn't like it here, not at all.

"I..." She jerked her head away from Kyron. "Just leave me alone!"

The door opened behind the officers as the Captain Walked in, "Stand down boy...I think you've done quite enough as it is."She said, motioning them to stand outside the door.

Straightening out her navy-blue uniform, she approached the girl, of which was seemingly having a panic attack. "It's alright, sweetheart," said the Captain as she laced her voice with her honeyed charm, "No one's going to hurt you. You con trust me." she said, holding out her badge and ID for the girl to inspect herself.

The demoness smiled, "I know my names is...a little difficult to pronounce, but you may call me Lilith. I'm the Captain of this branch of the LoP forces." The demoness said, filling her voice with the same charm to calm the girl down. In truth, Lilith's charm was, in fact, seduction; she used it as a calming agent when dealing with irrational or panicking citizens. Came standard with Succubi abilities.

The Ilithid glanced over the boy, "Well, well, aren't you a scrumptious one." it said, chuckling, "So, boy...what have you to say about this little plan of yours, hmmm?" It said as it read the surface thoughts going through Tadi's mind, "Mind you, any attempts to lie to me will fail, so it truly is in your best interests to be forthwith." the Ilithid stated with the utmost sincerity.

Tadi's hissing stopped at the words, and he could only stand there for a moment bewildered. How had he...? Mind-reader. That was the only explanation.

Where's Morgan? There was no point in trying to hide his reason for being here, not anymore. If she's hurt... He let out another hiss.

Morgan stared at the badge as it was held up and a shudder passed through her body. She didn't like the law, not at all. In fact, she spent much of her time running from them, but yet here she was. With... She felt the muscles of her body start to relax, and her own thoughts started to calm, though she couldn't understand why.

"I don't..." She gave a shake of her head. "I don't want to..."

"I know you don't, sweetheart. I understand that the law can be a bit...unfair at times, but I'm here to help you. she said, placing a hand gently on the girl's shoulder.

"Believe me, even as Captain, I myself get cut a raw deal at times just because of what I am. Now I am aware that one of our officers brought you in against your will, and possibly may not have told you what is going on. I assure you, you are not in trouble, and any record we may have on you will not be used against you during your stay, nor will they see the local authorities. The League of Planets is entrusted with the safeguard and well-being of the system, and I am concerned with your safety and bell-being while aboard our station.

Lilith paused to brush some stray hair out of Morgan's eyes,"I can answer any questions you have, and I remind you again, you are not in trouble and you are not a prisoner, you are here for your safety." she finished, giving the young girl a smile.

The Ilithid chuckled, "Why yes, I do read minds, and I can do so much more with one's mind, but you need not be concerned with that just yet. This Morgan girl you speak of...is hard to say. Assuming she is the one inciting such a commotion, she is being seen to be the good Captain, ah..." the Ilithid took a quick swipe of the boy's mind, "...Tadi. And with that, I can most assuredly guarantee that your young friend is in good hands...unless of course she happens to overuse her 'charm,' not that it's happened often."

The frail creature placed an equally frail hand up towards what might be considered the equivalent of a chin in thought, "Though, I must say, givn her nature, she may not mind having such a young partner...just the paper work..." he muttered to himself, "Regardless," he said, directing his guttural voice towards Tadi, "you need to begin explaining yourself...out of courtesy of course. I could always get the answers I want, but that would be most uncouth of me."

Tadi fought back another hiss, and instead made his way to the front of the kennel and sat down. He licked his right paw once before setting it down and then turning his attention to the creature before him.

You know my name, but I don't know yours. And... He sniffed the air, catching the scent he had been searching for. The officer that took Morgan. He's here, isn't he? The cat sniffed the air again, sifting through the various scents. After you two introduce yourselves, then I might explain.

Morgan pulled back slightly at the Captain's touch. She gave a shake of her head, unsure of what was going on. All she knew was that, the longer this woman talked, the less she felt like resisting. It was like earlier, with the creepy officer. Not that the captain wasn't creepy as well.

"You lie," she managed to work out. "Nobody..." The teen gave a shake of her head, trying to find the words. "You lie!" she finally spat out.

"Maybe, you can tell us what's going on first? We've both had a rough day," Kyron told the captain, having calmed down slightly in her presence. She sounded sincere enough and kinder than most people since he left the Wilds.

Lilith smiled as she pulled up a chair, "Well, it is a bit complicated, but to say the least, the League of Planets suspects that your father may be involved with something illegal. As far as we know, it may even be weapons development, but we have know definitive proof other than small increments of money across all of your father's businesses, as well as those of at least, six other people."

Sighing, she rubbed her forehead, trying to ease her ebbing headache, "Under normal circumstances, such a minor thing would have been left to the local authorities; however, it has also been noted that they have not noticed this. Naturally, as we have nothing more than suspicion to go on, our position was to do nothing more than to question the suspected individuals...something our relatively 'new' officer seemed to forget."

Sitting back in the chair, "Now, as for being brought here against your will...I can't say what the officer was thinking, I though he will be reprimanded. I can at least say that whatever actions he had taken planet-side, just might have put the two of you in danger if your father is indeed working on something. Would either of you like a soda?" asked the Captain.

The Ilithid chuckled, "Courtesy begets courtesy, I suppose." it said with a bow, However, admittedly, you've placed me in a difficult position. I am, for lack of a better term, hermaphroditic by nature, so human names, such as Mary or John, have no true application to me, and being an outcast, I have no identity within my former clan. If you wish, you may refer to me as Wellington, as it was the family name of the first human I made a thrall."

The Ilithid then turned to the lich standing behind, "Well? Do be a courteous sort and introduce yourself to the young cat-boy, would you?" it said, pointing to the kennel.

Wellington had piqued Xorn curiosity as he looked into the kennel himself. Sure enough, there in the kennel was a young boy who was trying to hold onto the form of a cat, giving him an anthropomorphic look. "Ah, you are aware that the distance from the planet has weakened your magic severely? Do not worry, it will not be permanent, and as for myself, I am officer Xorn."

Wellington chuckled again, as was its habit, Curiously enough...I've always wanted a cat-boy of my own..." taking on a more serious tone, "Now that we have been acquainted, please, do explain my dear boy."

(I totally fail out of this rpg....)

"What's a soda? And couldn't you have sent someone else if you knew he was going to be a problem?" Kyron asked curiously. He was now rather relaxed. He felt he could trust this woman. She was a friend.

(I can get your character involved, if you wish me to)

Morgan swayed, the weight of what she was being told weakening her legs. Was her dad... was he truly...? She couldn't even finish the thought. This wasn't real; this wasn't happening. But yet, she could already feel herself relaxing after her sudden panic. It didn't make any sense, but yet she couldn't seem to get in control of her emotions.

She gave a shake of her head and then fought to glare at the Captain, but she couldn't keep it up. "Y-yes," she said, the word stumbling its way out of her mouth before she could stop it. "And you're mistaken. My father... he wouldn't."

Tadi's left ear flickered back at the sight of Xorn, but then it returned to its former upright position. Yes, there was no question about that scent.

I've spent years making sure that Morgan's been safe. Protecting her from the truth of things. And then you go and blow everything. His eyes fixed onto Xorn and his tail swished back and forth in irritation. What a fine mess you've gotten us into.

His gaze then returned to Wellington. Morgan is my best friend, and I'll do whatever it takes to bring her back home, to keep her safe. However... I hadn't planned on all of this happening. He tapped a paw on the kennel.

Lilith frowned slightly, being sure to keep the physical contact to a minimum as Morgan seemed rather uncomfortable with her...being. Many humans were rather uncomfortable with 'unnatural' creatures like herself, "Sweetheart, I'm not accusing your father of anything, and I hold to the law, he is innocent until proven guilty. For now, all we're going to do, is question him; what should have been done before all this trouble was caused for you. Okay?"

Motioning towards one of the officers, "Three sodas please," looking back towards Morgan, "Is there a specific kind you'd like?" she asked, trying to calm the fearful girl.

Once more, the the purple hued creature chuckled, its tentacles shuddering, "My dear boy, plans seldom work as intended. Most often, it's said, that 'what looks good on paper, rarely translates to the application,' or something to that effect..." Wellington said as her rolled his hand nonchalantly, the saying having no real importance.

"However, there seems to be the matter of this 'truth of things,' as you put it; and really you shouldn't bother directing your thoughts at the good Officer, telepathy is not his forte. Now, if you'd be so kind as to explain what it is that you've been safeguarding young Morgan from?" asked Wellington.

Xorn stood by and watched as this one-sided verbal conversation was taking place. Until he was directly involved, there was little more that he could do...it was at times like this where he reflected on his history, wondering if his direct approach to thing might have been easier if he had bothered to be more...social.

He concluded that it was a possibility, however, undead he was, human nature imparted his difficulty in changing his nature. Perhaps he truly was unsuited for law enforcement...

"Oh." All of the fight drained out of Morgan at the Captain's words and she looked down at her hands. She twiddled her hands around for a moment, suddenly feeling really foolish. "But I thought..." Her cheeks flushed and she looked back up at the Captain, and then away again.

"That creepy officer said..." She drifted off and bit her lip. So she wasn't in any trouble. And neither was her father. He just fit the part of who they were looking for. After he was questioned, they all could just go back home. Then life would go back to being normal again.

I figured that he couldn't here me, Tadi responded. But you are perfectly capable of delivering what I have to say to him. As for the truth about thing... His tail flickered back and forth as he tried to keep his thoughts on the words and nothing else. He didn't want to give away information by accident. He had to stay in control, as best as he could.

I... I know about Eta. I have guesses as to what they are trying to do. But I doubt that I know much more than you.

(Sure.)

"I'm sure this was just a misunderstanding," Kyron told Morgan with a comforting smile. Things weren't as bad as they appeared. That other officer was just a bit... creepy and rather frightening.

"I guess we better get this all over with," he stated.

"You would be moderately accurate, my dear boy, I myself have no real knowledge of the Eta. What of you, good Officer? What knowledge of the Eta do you have?" asked Wellington as he turned to the lich. Even if he wasn't actively scanning the boy's mind, which he was, he could already tell the boy was withholding information, even if he was telling the truth for the most part; so the Ilithid gave the boy a knowing glance with its dark eyes.

Xorn thought for a moment, "The Eta was originally a terrorist organization, a coalition of extremists who were intensely opposed to extra-terrestrials, such as the League of Planets, attacking embassies and League of Plants' planet-side headquarters, the reason for which we use orbital stations."

Taking his hat off, Xorn ran a gloved hand through his remaining white hair, "A few years ago, the Eta went underground, in a manner of speaking, and we having had any incidences involving them since."

Wellington thought aloud, "Perhaps it may be 'far-fetched,' but could we assume that these investigations may be to ascertain information of possible Eta involvement? Assuming such is the case, perhaps you were sent to question Aaron Raye as he is suspected of being involved with this terrorist organization." turning to look at the boy, "Well, then? How about we start with what you know about the Eta?"

Lilith stood up as the officer returned with the sodas, apparently having left before hearing the Captain ask the girl is she wanted a specific kind, "Captain," he said crisply, handing her the sodas. She gave him a simple nod as she turned to the children, handing both of them an ice-cold soda,"Now, this way this will work, is that Mr. Raye will be taken to be questioned here shortly. Procedure dictates that you are not to be present during the questioning, and I do follow procedure; however, I understand that this is a personal matter, so I will make this an exception, but I have to tell you, sweetheart, I will not be the only non-human there." she said giving the young girl a solemn look.

"Don't worry, it will not be the Officer who picked you up, but I can guarantee the it won't be any less creepy...possibly even more so, but it is not an officer of the LoP, but a specialist that the LoP contracts for its services; however, it will only be there to observe and to act as a glorified lie detector. It is a mind reader, even more so than that, an extremely powerful telepath. So, knowing this, I'm leaving the choice up to you: Do you want to be there for your father's questioning?"

Oh... Uh... Tadi glanced between the two individuals. So they knew less than he did, it seemed. Now he was really going to have to watch himself. Not that he hadn't just made it even more obvious to Wellington that he was hiding things.

What do I know about Eta? Not very much. There's seven of them. They're probably doing something really shady. I'm pretty sure there's a link connecting them all together, outside of the fact that they're in the same organization. And... that's pretty much it.

Morgan gave a shake of her head and then took a sip of her soda. It tasted surprisingly good, for coming from such a place as this.

"I..." She turned her head slightly away and stared down at the ground. "He probably wouldn't want me there. And I don't want to be there, anyways."

Wellington looked almost startled, almost, as he looked back at Xorn, repeating Tadi, "Seven," was all he said, and all he had to say as Xorn gave him a nod in confirmation. Wellington looked back at the cat-boy, "well, regardless of what you are or are not willing to share, I would venture to guess that you may indeed be an ally to us. So, as a sign of good faith..."

Wellington approached the kennel, undoing the latch and opening the door, lifting out the cat-boy. Although not physically strong, wellington wasn't exactly weak either, practically squealing with glee as the cat-boy was embraced tightly, "Oh, how I've always wanted my own cat-boy!" as it gathered itself and put Tadi down, "I am undoubtedly breaking many LoP rules doing this, but whether or not you acknowledge my sincerity, we are allies."

Xorn tilted his head, "What do you think you are doing?" demanded the lich.

Wellington stroked Tadi's head before looking back, "I do believe that it is what is called, 'pooling resources and making friends,' or something like that. The boy's in the same boat we are, so no need to alienate the dear boy." Looking back at Tadi, Wellington knelt down and looked him in the eyes, "Now then, if not him," it said, gesturing towards Xorn, "Then tell me, what are you not saying. Is young Morgan's father truly involved with the Eta?"

Lilith nodded at Morgan's response, "As you wish. While I can't give you full access to roam the station, the both of you have leave to stay in the visitor's center if you like; I also keep an open door policy, so if either of you need me, I'm available." she said with a light smile, gently setting a hand on Morgan's shoulder.

"And I'll say it was a pleasure to meet you, young man." said the demoness, shaking Kyron's hand.

Kyron blushed slightly and returned the gesture. Master Mhenlo must have only been exposed to people like that creepy officer, this lady was nice. He turned to Morgan.

"Well, I guess we should find somewhere more comfortable to wait," he told her.

Tadi was ready for anything but having the breath squeezed out of him. Once he was put down, he simply sat there, wheezing for breath. The thought of bolting was there, in the back of his mind, but it was instinct and so he ignored it.

I would prefer Tadi over cat-boy, if you don't mind. He stared back at Wellington, unblinking. And I... I don't know. I don't want him to be, for Morgan's sake, but I just don't know.

He had his suspicions, of course, but... What about...? He gave the slightest shake of his head. He would puzzle it all out later.

There has been no proof.

Morgan flinched back at the touch, and then turned towards Kyron. "Y-yeah," she said to him. She took another drink from her soda, this time downing half of it. The fizz filled her nose and she almost laughed, but then her eyes flickered around her and the laughter died down before it could come out. None of them would understand. Only Tadi would, but she wasn't stuck here with Tadi. No, instead it was the goody-two shoes Shaman.

"Let's go, then."

Vince Nawroki knocked on the door to Aire's home--at least, he hoped that it was her home. The slightly chubby teen nervously shifted from foot to foot as he waited. This was the fifth place that he tried, and he really hoped that this one was it. He had already wasted so much time. Who knew what was happening to Tadi.

Aire opened the door to find someone she did not know. She glanced around almost as if she was sure to spot someone else. She didn't see anyone else so she turned her attention to the boy.

"Yes? Can I help you?"

Sterling was passing Aire's house when he saw that someone was at her door. He paused, curious as to what was going on. He moved closer as if to listen to the conversation.
