Brighe

"Well Sten, Syrien and I have covered the plans... And we want to know if you'd be willing to travel with us for a few weeks before you head for the Ka'Hirol plains."

Senka

"Ok, well, we'll probably have to walk in straight for a few hours. Possibly days..." Senka stated. She didn't care whether or not Nell lost the scent of Annakpok. She would find the boy no matter what.

Kegan

Kegan nodded in reply, chuckling a bit at Rein's false decorum. He slowly led Rein throughout the streets as they made their way towards the church. After they were finally close enough, Kegan pulled Rein into an alleyway. The smell was dank, and the aura unpleasant as they stood between two shops. Kegan uttered a few words as he looked over Rein. A minute later the Girl was invisible, only a light shimmer standing in her place.

"Wonderful. Well then, lets go."

Rein

Rein looked through her transparent body, amazed that the spell had actually worked. After another moment passed she snapped back to reality and took Kegan's hand.

"Ok. But if we get caught, I'm blaming everything on you." she joked.

(What should I do then? Have Nell lose it or have it be something else he smells? And I will take the blame Alec. I was the one who didn't read everything.)

Mab walked silently next to Carlislie. At times she wanted to ask him something, but she didn't say anything for a long time. Finally she couldn't take it anymore.

"So Carlislie, what would you do if I started calling you Lislie? You have a weird name you know?"

(Well I think it's that neither of us read it... But that doesn't matter now. Lets just have Nell lose the scent in good time.)
Carlisle

Carlisle's lips pursed together tightly as Mab spoke up. He hadn't been bothered by the silence; he was used to it. Carlisle was just pleased to be away from the Capital out amongst the plains. It was better then the Dungeons below the Colosseum could ever be. It was better then any indoor place could ever be. But the Doctor wasn't contemplating the plains around him at this point, instead he was contemplating Mab's question. He supposed that Carlisle was an odd name. Though he had never really thought about it before.

"It was my great Grandfather's name." Carlisle stated. A nostalgic tone to his words. ".....I don't know how I'd feel about being called Lisle."

Kegan

"Don't worry. I'm sure that Brighe and Syrien will do all the blaming for you." Kegan replied in a light-hearted fashion as he began to lead Rein towards the Temple.

(Oh well at least we learned to read all the posts concerning our characters XD)

"How do you feel that I keep adding an i to the ending of your name when you don't have one?

"Well it's not odder than my name," Mab pointed out and she smiled. "And I was kidding about Lisle. Maybe I'll go with Car," she continued to tease.

(Or have we? ^^ )
Carlisle

"Well it does make my name sound more exotic!"

Carlisle tiled his head to the right as he thought about Mab's other option. "Like the Centaurian Hero?" He asked rhetorically. "I suppose you can, if you want."

Rein

It didn't take them long to enter the temple. A few people inside glanced at the door when it seemingly opened on its own, but quickly dismissed it as a prank of some sort. Rein walked with Kegan quietly up the stairs leading to the top of the tower. Soon they came open a locked door, though it was pretty easy to pick its lock. Once Kegan was done with that, Rein walked into the belltower.

"Wow..." Rein simply said, amazed from the sight of the city. It looked so...beautiful, up here.

Mab frowned, not pleased that Carlisle wasn't easy to rile up. But it also meant that she would have to work harder. Not doing so would just make things less fun. And Mab planned to enjoy herself as much as she could.

"I'll call you Lisle, sounds better," she said nodding.

Nell almost got lost in his dog side when he suddenly stopped. He had lost the scent. Which meant the person either teleported or flew away. Or someone cessed to have a scent, which the Inu doubted.

"It stops here. Which means they might be around this place, probably higher up."

Senka/Katie

"Well what should we do then.... go back to camp?" Katie asked as she stood in place.

"You should." Senka replied as she walked past everyone, headed in the direction which she assumed the escaped Heir had gone.

Carlisle

Carlisle pursed his lips together and nodded as he accepted what Mab was saying. He supposed she just preferred it more. But still, it was kind of odd that she had offered the other name if she didn't like it. No matter, Carlisle supposed, it was nothing to get worked up over anyways.

Kegan

"Yeah.... You can see the ocean all the way from up here." Kegan pointed out.

Rein

"It's beautiful." Rein breathed. The sight was breathtaking. After being stuck in the palace for so many years, Rein hadn't had many chances to see things like this. She smiled and laid her head against Kegan's shoulder.

"Thank you, Kegan, for bringing me up here. Thanks for...everything."

Kegan

She was right, the view was beautiful. He could see the city below them for almost three kilometers, and then the plains started before it all just blurred into the forest. Though he could still see the sea, and the sun setting on it.

Though Rein's words bothered Kegan a bit. He knew that Rein would probably have been much better if he hadn't met her years ago and practically turned her life upside-down. The boy was certain that she would have been better off without him.

But he didn't want to ruin the moment, so he bit his tongue.

Nell walked over to Katie, his ears drooped.

"I'm sorry for losing it. Maybe I'm not so useful afterall."

"Is there a reason you're so tense," Mab asked suddenly. She realize what she said and tried to fix it. "I mean you just seem a little over serious. Not that it bothers me or anything."

Rein

Rein smiled sincerely at Kegan and leaned up, kissing him on the cheek. The female Humage laid her head on his shoulder again and simply stared out at the beautiful scenery, taking it all in. She stayed like that for a long time before gathering up the courage to speak again.

"Kegan....can I...tell you something?" Rein asked nervously, looking very hesitant and unsure about what she wanted to say.

Katie

Katie placed her hands on Nell's shoulder in understanding. "Hey, no one else could have tracked it. He was on a giant bird." She pointed out, giggling a bit as she tried to cheer Nell up.

Kegan

Kegan sighed in contentment as the sun finished setting. It was a very peaceful and beautiful moment, though Kegan quickly glanced down as he heard Rein.

"Of course you can."

Carlisle

Carlisle stopped in place as Mab's words sunk into him. He supposed that Mab was right. He was being inconsiderate to the Girl, after all. "I apologize...you are right. I've been too caught up in my own need to not be caught again that I've been making you uncomfortable." Carlisle acknowledged.

"Yeah you're right," Nell said, blushing a little at the contact. He smiled up at Katie. "At least I can say no one else can track people as well as me. Well except a full grown Inu or a wolf or..." he trailed off realizing he was rambling.

"No no, it's just I guess I'm use to dealing with Chris. We banter a lot," Mab said stopping as well. "But you probably have your reasons. And it's none of my business."

Rein

"Kegan, I...." Rein's voice faltered as she lost the courage to speak up. But she shook her head and tried to find her voice. She needed to talk, to tell him about. Rein did not entirely want to talk about this, but The Humage felt she needed to.

"Kegan, I never want to lose you again. When you left me two years ago, to flee from Tsuba, it...it really hurt. I wanted to go with you, so badly. Now, I understand why you didn't take me, and I can appreciate the fact you wanted to keep me and, unknowingly then, Atiya safe. But...when you left me, I....I..."

Rein felt tears gathering at her eyes, though she did her best not to cry at the moment. "I wanted to die. The emotional pain, it just....hurt so much..."

Katie/Senka

Katie giggled once again at Nell's rambling. She noticed that Senka was now a few hundred yards away from them, though the Girl didn't mind too much. "Come on, we should get back to camp...."

Carlisle

"My apologies... I have never done banter..." Carlisle admitted. He almost seemed embarrassed as he admitted this to Mab. And indeed, he supposed it probably did seem odd. He began to feel guilty as hid mind wandered how hard this journey was going to be for Mab.

"Mab....I think you should sit down. this conversation is going to be...long and informative."

Kegan

Kegan's mouth dropped open as Rein began to cry. "Hey, hey...I'm sorry. I really am...." Kegan replied as he tried to comfort Rein.

Nix, Nebi and Gaita walked for several hours, saying little. After the spar Nix had started thinking up new Magic theorems, most of which he quickly dismissed as impossible for anything below a Mage level of magic to prove, and began a new train of thought. Gaita had fallen into a daze, consciousness resurfacing when paranoia told her danger was near, mostly ending in a false alarms.

A short while after sun set, They came across the farming Village of Ciudad de la Tierra. It was a small, unimpressive village, whose only claim to fame was that it was once the home a great archer. The tale of the archer has long been forgotten by the rest of the Empire but still held strong in its home village. There was tavern in the middle of the village called , strangely enough, "The faithful cow". Whoever had scrawled the cryptic (but still somehow inviting) name must have been illiterate, because 'faithful' was spelled 'fathfel'.

"Its not much....but It works." Nix said regarding the tavern. Its wooden walls, once a chestnut brown but now gray as stone, sagged and it roof seemed to be trying to pull itself away from the rest of the building. "Staying here tonight OK with you?" He asked Nebi.

C.C.

C.C. walked alongside Nell and Katie, softly humming a romance song. She gave Katie a knowing look as she hummed.

Rein

"It hurt so much, to be without you...to wake up each morning, wondering if you were dead or alive, wondering if I'd ever see you again, wondering if you'd ever live long enough to know our daughter...it all hurt so much." Rein sobbed, crying into Kegan's shoulder. Her arms clutched his back tightly as she wept.

"Being alone....before, I never really minded not having a boyfriend, but when you came into my life...you changed everything. I fell in love with you, Kegan, and you left me. I understand why, and I know it was necessary. Atiya and I would have been killed if we went with you. But still, I desperately wanted to be reunited with you. To be with you again, no matter what...."

Rein couldn't speak anymore and simply cried more into her fiance's shoulder. After she regained the ability to speak, Rein spoke in a hoarse whisper.

"Please...never leave me again. I don't care what happens, I want to be with you and Atiya forever..."

(I'm sorry I caused a problem. I was just pointing it out.)

Annak wasn't feeling so great, as he gradually lost blood, but he was determined to get as far away from Senka as possible. He planned to enact his revenge, but he couldn't in his current condition, and it was apparent Senka wanted his blood as much as he wanted hers. He couldn't give her that chance. Elsu began to descend, slowly.

Annak looked up weakly. "Elsu, what are you doing?" he asked, his voice soft.

"I'm taking you down Annak. You can't stay up here with that wound. You need to treat it." Elsu told Annak. Annak shook his head in protest.

"We could get there tonight Elsu, if we just keep going." Annak persisted. "I'll be fine, the rebels will help us." he continued. He could feel the giant falcon's anger.

"Annak, we don't know that the rebels won't kill us on the spot. We need to be at full strength when we meet them. We'll go tomorrow." Elsu said. Annak gritted his teeth, and beat his fist against Elsu's back. Not hard, because he was incapable of anything more than an irritating tap to the spirit at this point.

"Elsu! I order you to keep moving." Annak demanded. The spirit's irritation rose.

"Annak! I was chosen by my lord to protect you. I will not allow you to die, be that from an enemy or from the wound on your back. And you're my friend Annak, I can't let you go on like this." Elsu said. Annak was taken aback by what Elsu said. Elsu had always seemed all buisness. He didn't know that he actually meant something to the right hand man of the Sky King.

"Alright, we'll land." Annak agreed half heatedly, as the descended towards a tiny clearing, with a little waterfall, with a pool of water at the base.

Kegan

Kegan lightly moved Rein's face so she was looking up at him. "I promise you. We'll stay together, no matter what."

Katie

Katie's eyes practically bulged out of her head as she glared at C.C. . While Katie desperately did want to smack the Mage, she didn't want to embarrass herself in front of Nell.

Rein

"T-Thank you." Rein mumbled, kissing Kegan briefly on the lips. She held hm for several minutes before finally releashing Kegan from her grip. She looked up and gave a sheepish smile.

"S-Sorry about that, Kegan. I just wanted to get that off my chest."

C.C.

C.C. giggled at Katie's reaction and simply winked back in response to her glare. Ah, how it was fun to mess with the young. It was so easy, too!

Kegan

"No.... I understand...." Kegan whispered in reply before kissing the top of Rein's forehead. After pulling away he smiled softly at his beloved, glad that she had been willing to speak her mind to him.

"I think it's time we headed back for the Inn."

Rein

"Ok, but...could you just hold me, please Kegan? Just for a few minutes? I know it may seem weird but...I'm still a little afraid this is all a dream that I'll be waking up from any second now. I find your touch very...comforting. After that, we can head back." Rein asked hopefully. She leaned up and kissed him again.

Sten gave her a stoic, but dangerous look, as though the warrior within him was just below the surface. He spoke calmly, "My sword is my soul. I cannot divert from my quest for it for any reason. If I must go alone and search for it, so be it."

Nebi glanced around the inn, grimacing a little when he saw the bearded bartender smile toothlessly at them. Still, there was no way the Empire would be looking for them in this old tavern and there was nowhere else to go. He nodded.

"Sure. Just check the beds for lice and be careful with what you drink."

Alquonde hummed and light tune as he walked through the woods, following what at first glance seemed to be a random path. The old "man", however, didn't seem to mind at all. In fact, the path he was taking seemed natural for him.

This was, of course, because he had traveled through these woods before. He even had a part in Shaping them back in the Ancient Days. Some of its magic seemed to have faded, but an aura of mystery hung in the air, perhaps that was what drew the rebels here.

He smiled serenely as he stopped at a stream. Someone should come along to greet him soon enough. He had just entered the rebels' Wards, after all.
