Succession: Rebellion

Annak eventually pulled himself up onto Elsu, and pulled the dagger out of his shoulder, screaming a little as he did. "She's looking for the ring." Elsu commented. Annak cradled the knife covered in his blood in his hands.

"Well I've got something of hers too. And I'll be sure to give it back to her, right in her heart." Annak grumbled. He would get the ring back, and if it came to killing Senka, he would do it with her own knife.

C.C.

"I don't know, and I don't care all that much. He's good in my book, if he's decided to mess with Senka." C.C. replied to Katie, a smirk on her face.

Katie/Senka

"He was kind of cute.... Though I think he's a bit full of himself. I hope he's alright." Katie whispered in reply to C.C. as she watched the boy fly away.

Senka walked back a few minutes later, a grim look of satisfaction on her face as she held the ring. "We have the boy's identity at least now." Senka informed C.C., knowing that the Mage didn't care. C.C. never did care about the Empire, from what Senka had seen.

Kegan

Kegan's face drained of color at Atiya's statement; though he quickly recovered after realizing that Rein would not. "Now why would we do that when we already have you?"

C.C.

"Good, I suppose. No doubt you'll want to add finding that 'terrorist' to our main task of finding Carlisle as well." C.C. guessed.

Atiya, Rein

Atiya shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno. But that's what Sten told me you were doing. Um...how do you make babies?"

Rein finally reached her other shoe and put it on. She quickly stood up and tried to compose herself.

"Um...well..." Rein looked over at Kegan, uncertain of what to say.

Maul

Maul and his men set up the temporary camp for them and their horses to rest for the next few hours. They had traveled much during the past few hours, and they had managed to cover a lot of ground. Still, their had been no sight of Nebi, unsurprisingly. No doubt the runaway Heir had made sure to get as far away from the capital as he could right now.

Senka/Katie

"Well it is a logical assumption for me to make. He's another Heir, a threat to the Empire... Just like how we would arrest Heirs Ekaitz, Epiphany, and Nebi if we found them." Senka answered.

Kegan shook his head no in reply, not wanting to answer.

Savina

Savina smiled as she sat down at one of the campfire circles, alone. She had already finished setting up a few of the tents, and had gotten the fire she was now sitting at started up. Savina still hadn't figured out when and where they had...would, meet Heir Nebi.

(When I mommy and a daddy love each other very much...)

Rein

"Um...well, Atiya, you'll...learn when you're older." Rein eventually settled on saying. It was then the door opened as Syrien stepped inside. Rein gave a sigh of relief at his unintentional save.

"Hey Grandpa! How are babies made?" Atiya immediately asked. Syrien froze in place at Atiya's query. Slowly, he turned to Rein and Kegan, an unreadable expression on his face. Rein groaned and refused to look at her father. Well...this certainly wasn't going to end well...

Maul

"Hello Savina." Maul said politely, walking over to her.

Liona

Liona set up her tent and put her small amount of belongings within it. She emerged and walked cautiously over to Maul and Savina.

"Hello, Maul, Savina."

Kegan

"It was the Qunari!" Kegan shouted in reply. Of course he knew that it would do nothing to stop Syrien from being angry with them...but still, he had to try. "I mean...that guy really does not know what personal boundaries are."

Savina

"Oh Hello Maul...." Savina replied, though she didn't say anything else as she noticed Liona walking up as well. Savina forced a smile, to show the Knight that she was glad to see her.

Rein, Atiya, Syrien

Syrien did not respond to Kegan's somewhat pitiful (though true) explanation, and turned back toward the hall outside.

"Brighe? You'll never guess what Atiya just asked." the older Elf began, glancing briefly at Rein and Kegan. Rein gulped nervously and looked nervously in Kegan's direction. Gods, why did this always have to happen to them?! Couldn't they go with one day without some sort of embarrassing thing happening to them?

Maul

"I presume your living conditions for traveling are good, yes?" Maul inquired, briefly glancing at Liona.

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe walked into the room from the hall, a look of disapproval on her face as she dropped a bundle onto the ground. She looked at Kegan before changing her gaze towards Atiya. "What is it honey? What did you ask Mum and Dad?"

Atiya

"How babies are made, Aunte Brighe!" Atiya declared proudly. Rein groaned again and hide her face with her hand, refusing to look at either Syrien or Brighe. Boy, this wasn't gonna end well. Kegan, no doubt, would get hit again by his aunt, and Syrien...Rein didn't really want to think what Syrien woul say to her.

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe bit her lip and nodded her head in reply, knowing exactly why Atiya would ask this question. Though surprisingly, she didn't seem very angry. She didn't yell, rush towards her Nephew, or make any threats. No, all Brighe did was grab the large bundle she had walked into the room with and tossed it to Kegan. "We bought you a decent disguise. It should work, for now, at least. I want you to put it on Nephew; you're going to go out to help me with the shopping." Brighe ordered before she turned around and walked out of the room.

".....She's going to kill me." Kegan muttered.

Rein, Atiya, Syrien

"I will stay with Atiya, Rein. Why don't you go out with Kegan and Brighe?" Syrien asked, though it was more of a command than a question. Rein nodded stiffly and quickly walked out the door with Kegan once he changed into his disguise.

"Brighe won't kill you with me around, I hope. I think Syrien sent me with you so she wouldn't treat you too harshly." Rein said somewhat hopefully to Kegan.

(I wrote most of this up Friday night, thinking I would post it before too long, but then there were Internet issues, so this is a little bit behind the current time).

Ana climbed to her feet at the sight of an approaching servant. She stepped out of the shadows and walked towards the servant. Idly she let her staff hit the ground as she walked, as if she was about to go on a picnic, rather than a hunt that could get hundreds of people killed.

She took the papers from the servant without a word, as well as the pouch of coins. She was pleased to note that the pouch was light. She knew now that Tsuba would spare no expense in getting what she needed, but whoever had filled the pouch had had the sense to keep it light, easy to carry around.

She watched as the servant girl walked away, and then she stuck the papers beside the others in her belt. The money pouch made its way onto her belt as well before she left, vanishing into the shadows like a wraith.

She hadn't gone far, however, when she saw an unusual, but familiar sight--a giant falcon, that could only belong to a boy called Annak. She had seen the sight of it only once before, but she wasn't one to forget.

On impulse she pulled the papers back out and glanced through them, to see, much to her surprise, that there was one on Annak. There wasn't much information, but that didn't matter. He was heading north, and there were rebels in that area.

She placed the papers back into her belt and then raced across the rooftops, a clear destination in mind.

Kegan

"Yeah well....I suppose we'll see now wont we." Kegan replied as he tied up his hair together, throwing on a cloak afterward.

"Anyways, Atiya, be good for your Grandfather." Kegan ordered with a warm smile on his face.

Brighe

Brighe had already left the hall and was downstairs in the Tavern. She was standing by the staircase when she noticed the Qunari in the corner of the room. The Elf waved towards the massive creature before mouthing: "We bought the map. Go upstairs."

Senka

Senka was back in the weapons wagon, studying the ring profusely. She noticed some text on the ring, though it did take a while to decipher it. "Ikkuma and Annakpok....." She eventually deciphered. But who were they? What did it mean? Senka wasn't sure. Though it was bound to help her find the boy somehow.....

"Inu!" Senka suddenly shouted as she looked up at Nell. "Tell me if you can trace the scent of this ring or not." She ordered while tossing the evidence to Nell.

Katie

After Senka had jumped back into the rear wagon, the Caravan started up again and continued to travel. Though there was something on Katie's mind that she just couldn't stop wondering about.

"C.C. ....What did Senka mean when she referred to that boy as another Heir?" Katie asked as she looked over at the Mage.

Savina

"The tents are....comfortable enough from what I've seen. I mean they are water proof, and that's the most important thing."

C.C.

"I don't know. I know nothing about that mysterious boy." C.C. admitted.

Maul

"Good. Tell me, have you received any new visions?" Maul inquired.

Rein, Syrien

"I will!" Atiya promised, giving a big smile at Rein and Kegan. Rein smiled back at her and quickly left the room. After she closed the door behind them, Rein reluctantly began to trail after Brighe.

"What...what do you think she'll say?"

Katie

"I mean...it's impossible. At that age he would have been drafted into the competition if he was an Heir. I just...maybe Tsuba has some other plot going on?" Katie wondered aloud as she tried to figure it all out.

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe nodded at Kegan and Rein before walking out of the Inn and onto the streets. Kegan stood beside Rein and followed his Aunt from a safe distance. "I don't know...."

Savina

Savina swallowed nervously and closed her eyes as she realized there was no chance of keeping the reason why she was here a secret. So she tried to ignore Liona's presence for a few minutes as she looked at Maul. "Two so far. We are definitely going to find Heir Nebi....but we'll lose a few men."

Maul

"It is to be expected. Were there any more things specific to the visions?" Maul asked.

C.C.

"I don't know. I'm hardly that witch's most trusted advisor. If it weren't for the fact that I could easily destroy her and am bound to be loyal to her, Tsuba would have put me to death." C.C. mused.

Rein

"So, um, Brighe, what are we looking for?" Rein asked nervously, hoping that making a little small talk with Kegan's aunt would make her forget to punish them. Of course, she doubted that, but there wasn't any harm in trying.

Savina

"It was warm... Whether or not that's because of the fire or because we don't find him until after winter I'm not sure." Savina answered before biting her lip. ".....I'm not sure if this means anything, but we were in a crater of sorts...there was no floral life to speak of."

Brighe

"We still haven't purchased any food for the trip. we'll need some just in case there's no animals to kill or fruit to grab." Brighe answered.

Maul

"Interesting," Maul murmured in thought. "Anything else? Even small details could prove to be useful."

Rein

"Oh, ok." Rein said. After a few minutes of silence, Rein gave into her desire to ask Brighe what exactly she'd do or say to them.

"Brighe, I...I know Kegan and I didn't exactly do the best thing earlier, leaving Atiya alone, but it was the Qunari's fault that Atiya asked us that question...kinda..."

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe stopped in her place, allowing Kegan and Rein to catch up with her. "I don't care what the Qunari said. You two left your Daughter alone just so you could have a good time in the alley way. What if she had woken up and walked out of the Inn trying to find you? What if someone had taken her, Rein!? What would you do then?" Brighe asked, anger finally evident in her eyes as she practically hissed the last sentence. Though the Elf took in a deep breath before she calmly continued.

"Look, I can understand that you two are glad to be back together. That you two are very attracted to one another and that you want to make up for lost time... But there is a time and a place for everything and right now, while we are on the run from the Empire itself, when Syrien and I can't always be there to clean up your messes; ....now is not the time for that. Now is the time for you two to step up. Act like adults and put your child first, then each other next."

Savina

"Umm....I didn't see you there. Or me....or anyone who's been traveling in the front with us. Maybe the rear gets ambushed?"

Rein

Rein winced at Brighe's blunt statements, but she knew the Elf was telling the truth. She hadn't exactly been putting Atiya's safety and well-being first since she had reunited with Kegan. She had just been so happy to be reunited with her love, Atiya had only seemed a secondary concern. But Rein knew they had to take better care of their daughter, and not run off together at every other moment. Atiya needed the love and care of her parents, and Rein and Kegan needed to protect and care for their daughter. They were parents now, after all. They had new responsibilites.

"You're right. I'm...sorry Brighe. I was just so happy to be back with Kegan, but...I promise we'll take better care of Atiya." Rein promised, looking the Elf in the eyes.

Maul

"Perhaps. Was there anything in the vision to indicate the time of day? The position of the sun, perhaps? If it was there at all?" Maul asked.

Savina

"It was blocked by smoke, so I couldn't see the sun. If I had to hazard a guess...sunset, maybe?"

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe backed up and looked at Rein and Kegan, staring them down for a few seconds before she nodded in satisfaction. "Good. But don't let this Ass drag you back in, he will try you know." Brighe ordered Rein while motioning to Kegan, recieving a look of annoyed shock from her Nephew.

Maul

"I see. Tell me if you have any more visions." Maul said, bowing in thanks to Savina before wandering over to a group of soliders.

"You are Sunny, correct?" Maul asked the specific soldier as he approached Sunny's platoon.

Rein

"Don't worry, I'll make sure to whip him into shape." Rein joked, playfully hitting Kegan in the left shoulder. "So, is there anything we need to get for Atiya?"
