| C.C.
"Oh?" C.C. questioned, casting a glance at Nell. "Well, I suppose it's fine with me. I just better not catch you two alone."
C.C. gave a teasing grin at Katie, this time hoping to get a flustered reaction out of her.
Rein, Atiya, Syrien
"Third largest? What's the first two?" Rein asked.
"So, where shall we buy a carriage and horse?" Syrien asked Brighe.

| Brighe/Kegan
"Thor and Mylintor are the two cities even larger then the Capital." Kegan informed Rein, earning him a look of approval from his Aunt.
"Wherever the Market is, of course. Looking from the traffic of the people around here, I'd say we should head northeast to get there." Brighe replied. ------------------------------------- Katie
Katie blushed at C.C.'s teasing. "Not with him!" She hissed while looking away from Nell, referring to the lighthearted joking that usually went on between C.C. and Katie. -------------------------------------- Carlisle
"So is that what you want in life now? To serve the Gods?"

| Rein, Syrien
Syrien nodded and steered them toward where most of the citizens of Flan were converging towards. They soon entered the market. There wer dozens of stalls and vendors selling all sorts of things, from foods of all kinds to even items that were said to have been 'touched and blessed by the Empress'.
As Syrien searched for anyone selling a carriage or a horse, a vendor approached the group.
"Welcome! My good sir, might you have good use for a slave? I have all kinds of useful ones you can use at the home! I'm sure your wife wouldn't mind help in the kitcehn, either." the slaver said, mistaking Brighe for Syrien's wife.
C.C.
"Oh? Then who? Baruti perhaps?" C.C. continued to tease, happy at finally getting the reaction she had wanted to get from her.

| Brighe/Kegan
"And who says that I'm the one doing the cooking?" Brighe asked, offended more at that accusation then at the slave trading or being confused as Syrien's wife.
"No thank you, we have no need for a slave." Kegan replied in disgust. --------------------------------- Katie
"Why don't you go flirt with him, he's closer to your age?" Katie asked petulantly.

| Ana sat up in the tree for quite some time, thinking about her next move. If anybody was to learn of what she had, be it the Rebellion or Tsuba, they would hunt her down for it. She wanted to be rid of it, but the thought of just abandoning the papers somewhere never even occurred to her. She would have to find a way to use what she had to her advantage.
As she was mulling in her thoughts, the whispers of the people wandering the streets below caught her attention. She cast aside her thoughts about the papers for a moment, and listened.
"...asking about the Rebellion. Crazy fool. Just going to get himself killed."
It was two men talking, standing in the shadows of the tree, so as to talk a little more privately.
The second man snorted. "Two mites that he's dead before nightfall."
"I'd say before supper."
Their deal done, the two men wandered off.
Ana frowned at this. It wasn't her problem if some idiot got killed, but was it some kind of ruse to draw key members of the Rebellion out of hiding? Or was it just somebody wanting to join?
Either way, she had become to idol. The affairs of the kingdom were moving ahead without her.

"Oh, hush." C.C. said, giving a mock-frown.
Syrien, Rein
"Oh, but I insist! We have plenty of will-fit slaves to work in the kithens, tend to the gardens, and whatever else you need them for! I'll even give you a good deal, two; two slaves for fifty gold pieces!" the slaver persisted, not allowing Syrien or Brighe to try to leave. Syrien stared long and hard at the slave dealer before replying.
"No, thank you."
Rein gave a similar look of disgust at the slaver. She herself had been a slave, if just for a short while, and found the entire practice to be vile.

| Brighe/Kegan
"I think I see a man who could sell us a carriage over there." Brighe commented as she looked past the slave trader into the market. "I'm going to see if I can get a fair price from him." Brighe replied to the others. ---------------------------------- Katie
Katie just smiled in reply. "Oh come on."

"Still, I think you two would make a nice couple." C.C. said, purposely changing the subject.
Rein, Syrien
"Come now, my good man! Surely--!"
Syrien reached over to the slaver, lightly pinched a section of his neck, and watched with satisfaction as he collapsed to the ground.
"Do not worry, he is only unconscious." the Elf quickly assured Rein and Kegan. He walked over to where Brighe was heading.

Katie looked back at Nell before quickly turning away as she realized her cheeks had turned red. "I'm going to get a drink of water." She excused herself before quickly walking back into the Castle. She didn't actually need anything to drink, but the situation out there was already far too embarrassing for her to stick around. ------------------------ Kegan
Kegan looked down at the man's unconscious body. "I suppose he wouldn't need these..." Kegan muttered as he pulled the bag of coins off the man and passed it to Rein. "You go with Brighe and Syrien. I have a few things I need to take care of." Kegan commented as he looked at the shackled slaves a few hundred feet away.

| (Okay, Hogaki told me to skip ahead with our group. He's currently busy with a tech competition and such)
After a few minutes of discussion, Nebi, Nix, and Gaita agreed to travel together to find the rebels. It seemed to the ex-thief that Nix and Gaita believed that the rebels would help reconnect him to his supposed 'wealth' and were hoping to claim themselves a hefty reward. At least, that's what Nebi thought they were thinking. Nebi himself mentioned possessing any title or riches, but decided to let them live in their fantasy.
With that thought, they began to head south where it was rumored that the rebels were hiding out in a camp in the mountains, possibly even under the mountain with a sympathetic Drwarvin State. Nebi himself intended to find out the truth of those rumors and get as far away from the Imperial City as possible. They were already a good distance away from the capital, off the main roads of course, when Nebi decided to try to get to know the others better.
"So, how long have you known each other?" he asked.

| Rein, Syrien
"Ok." Rein said. She lifted Atiya from Kegan's shoulders and settled the toddler on her's. She walked with Brighe and Syrien toward the stand were carriages were being sold.
"We would like to purchae a carriage and some horses, sir." Syrien began. The gruff man selling the carriages nodded.
"Very well. 2,000 gold coins, please."
C.C.
C.C. giggled as she waved Katie off. Hm, she should probably lay off of the girl. She'd probably had enough teasing for now.

| Brighe
Brighe pulled out a small bag from her back pocket. "Hmm...this is only a thousand at most." The Elf realized as she weighed the bag in her hands. But then she saw Rein and Atiya walking over, and she realized what her Nephew had done as she saw the bag of coins in Rein's hand. "Aw, thank you my dear Niece." Brighe stated as she pulled the bag out of Rein's hand and gave it to the store owner. "I want you to count those out if you don't mind. We wouldn't want anyone cheated here after all." -------------------------- Kegan
Kegan walked towards the cages, key in one hand and the slave trader's body being dragged by the other. The Hallf-Elf quickly grabbed the sheets that covered the room the slaves were kept in, and shut them so that the public couldn't see what he was doing.
"Now then, I want all of you to be very quiet. Also, don't leave the tent all at once, walk, don't run." Kegan advised as he began to undo the shackles around the people's arms and legs. --------------------------- Savina
Savina finally grew bored enough to gain the courage to start a conversation up with Liona. She walked over to the Knight before tapping her on the shoulder. "So, looks like we'll be traveling together then."

The shopkeeper countered all the coins before giving an approving nod. "Good, all seems to be in order. You have about two hundred gold pieces left over."
He handed a small bag of coins back to Brighe before stowing away the two thousand gold pieces. He gestured to a nearby carriage for Brighe to take.

| (Accepted, romantic. ) Name: Sten Age: 45 Gender: Male Race: Qunari- Qunari are a large humanoid race hailing from the island nations of Par Vollen and Seheron south of Gaboria. They have bronze-hued skin, white hair, pointed ears, and vivid eyes with colors like violet, red, or yellow. Qunari are physically considerably more robust than humans. They are violently evangelical of their philosophy, the Qun. Appearance: http://thelowbudgetreview.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/sten.jpg Magic?: No Royal Bloodline?: No Personality: Sten is a strong, proud and noble warrior who refuses at first to elaborate on discussions regarding his people or his reason for being in Gaboria. Most of his comments are terse or laconic, but he does seem to have a modicum of a sense of humor. Sten is a determinist, believing that the proper rule of all people is determined at birth. He is devoted to the Qun, his people's philosophy, and would die before violating it. History: Sten is a commanding officer of the Beresaad, the vanguard of the qunari race.He and a few other Qunari came to Gaboria for unknown reasons but were ambushed by bandits as they traveled in an unfamiliar wilderness. His companions were killed, but Sten killed every single one of their attackers before falling unconscious. He was found by a farmer traveling home and was brought there to be nursed back to health. When he awoke, however, Sten found he was without his sword. A Qunari's sword is their soul; to cast it aside is to renounce the Qun and should Sten return home without it, he'd be killed. In his panic, Sten killed his rescuers before calming down. Their neighbors found him standing over their bodies, covered in blood. When the guards came, he did not resist, even when he was sold into slavery and brought to Flan. Other: * Away from the rest of the slaves, Sten sat in the only cage, staring pensively at the ones that had knocked out the Vilisaad, the slaver. The others slaves gave him a wide berth, both because of his appearance and the rumors about him. He observed Kegan thoughtfully. He was a warrior, no matter how much the man sought to hide it and, judging from his garb, the elf was hiding it. He knew Kegan was an elf as well. His studies on the various unbelieving races told him that, as well as the pointed ears. He wondered vaguely if he'd be released as well. He was simply curious. Sten wasn't anxious or nervous. His path had been set out for him and he would travel where it led him. | |

| Brighe
Brighe quickly accepted the bag in return, putting it into her bag of coins just in case there were other people who knew the man they had stolen it from. "Excellent. I think we have enough money for a few weeks of food, plus a few things to make the journey more comfortable for Rein and Atiya." Brighe informed Syrien as she walked up to their new way of traveling.
"Though of course we'll want to buy those things from the city of Lyanor. If I know my Nephew we wont be staying here long." -------------------------- Kegan
After Kegan was done with letting go all of the shackled Slaves, he directed them into groups that should leave together. The Half-Elf studied the Tent, noting the last Slave waiting in the cage. "Ah, I take it that you're this man's prize possession then?" Kegan asked as he walked towards the cage.
"Don't! You wont want to free that man, he's a monster." One of the Slaves shouted in warning.
"Don't worry, I can take care of myself." Kegan replied before waving the last group of Slaves. Kegan walked up to the cage and unlocked it before slowly opening it, never taking his eyes off of the Qunari inside of it. "There you go then." --------------------------

| Sten stared at the elf who released him, looking around solemnly. He saw how the other slaves cowered. They truly were born to be slaves. It was their path and no matter what they did, they would know that they were slaves.
He stepped out and nodded at Kegan. He, however, wasn't a slave, even if he was imprisoned in a cage. He was a warrior of the Beresaad and his path wasn't one of a slave, no matter what his crimes.
"It is done then," he noted, looking down at Kegan.

"True. Good, it sounds like a plan, then. How long should Kegan be, do you know?" Syrien asked observing the various crowds for any sign of his future son-in-law.
"Aunte Brighe!" Atiya cried, reaching over toward the elf. "You promised you'd get me a present for winning the contest!"

"Yep. You are free." Kegan replied as he looked up at the massive man. The would have been Slave was huge, and slightly frightening, Kegan thought as he studied the Qunari for a few seconds.
"Now if you wouldn't mind moving out of the way so I can put this guy away...." Kegan asked politely as he motioned to the Slave Trader. -------------------------- Brighe
Brighe swore under her breath as she realized that Atiya was right. "Ok then Atiya, right you are. What would you prefer? Something to play with, or something to eat?" Brighe asked as she studied the market.

"Play with!" Atiya immediately replied. Rein struggled to keep the excited little girl balanced on her shoulders as she tried to reach for Brighe. Syrien chuckled a little at her enthusiasm.
"She has been looking forward to this." he commented.

| Sten nodded and stepped aside, not minding in the least to see the slave trader locked away. He regarded the slaves, examining their facial expressions and postures. He turned around and spoke to Kegan.
"You should not have freed the others. They are slaves in their hearts and they will remain that way for the rest of their lives. You should free only those that are not meant to be slaves," he stated.
"Hey! You can't judge us!" one of them pointed out. Sten only growled and the man backed away fearfully.
"You are a slave. That is your path, your Qun," the giant stated.

| Brighe
"Wonderful." Bighe replied as she accepted Atiya from Rein's arms. "Lets go find then. And quick." Brighe said, thinking the last sentence to herself as she headed for a small odd-ball market. "Well then, how about that pretty blanket? Or the ball?" Brighe asked. On the way through the market, Brighe walked by a small pen full of baby animals. Though brighe tried to move past it quickly so Atiya wouldn't see it. ------------------------ Kegan
After Kegan had locked the Slave Trader up, he glared at the Giant from the cage. "Well that's not your choice to make, now is it? People should be able to choose their own path, Qunari. Besides, just because they're all weak now, doesn't mean they wont grow to be better later." Kegan pointed out after he had locked the cage.
"Now then, last group, I want you to head for the Western gate. Don't stop for anyone." Kegan ordered.

| Nix "I've known Gaita since we were 15." Nix said after a moment, seeing no harm in telling Nebi. "Believe it or not, when we first meet it was a slave-master relationship." Nix chuckled, it was nice to hold a conversation again, most of their clientele were happy with 'yes sir' and 'no sir', and Gaita was never much of a talker. He heard Gaita release an annoyed huff, obviously irritated with the subject, but not enough to stop the conversation altogether.

| Liona glanced over at Savina, and nodded, offering a very weak attempt at a smile.
"Yes, I guess we will be," she replied. She continued following the group, next to Savina. It had been rather boring just traveling in silence like they were, though she hadn't minded much.
