Succession: Rebellion

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe and Kegan stopped in place, shocked at Maul's sudden appearance.

Kegan, finally starting to regain some of his old Gusto nwo that he had been reunited with his Aunt, walked past Brighe. "I thought you were one of Tsuba's Mooks, Maul? At least, that's what I've heard. Why would we trust you?" Kegan asked.

Katie

"It's fine, work comes first, C.C." Katie replied before hugging C.C. "Take the Relinigia District to get to the Colosseum. I heard that it's under heavy construction, so it'll take at least an hour for you to get there. Plenty of time for Nebi to escape." Katie whispered before releasing C.C.

Senka

Senka walked down the streets of the Mercantile District, the back of her head bandaged. She had woken up within ten minutes after her fight with the Spirit had ended, and she was immediately informed of the news involving Clara's death and the madness going on inside and under the Colosseum.

Senka saw a group of Soldiers being led by the Captain of the Guard. "Well, at least they are moving faster then expected. We might be able to contain this in good time after all."

Maul

"I was. But my debt to the Empress has been paid. Other than my status as a member of the Order, I have no other loyalty to her. Many in the Order are growing...dissatisfied with her. We had hoped that with a new Emperor not directing descented from Anpu, things would change for the better. Tsuba, however, is just like the rulers of old. The Empire continues to stagnate because our history has not significantly changed in a thousand years. The way things are done now, Gaboria cannot sustain itself.

We predict that, 237 years from now, the Gaborian Empire will collapse under the strain of attacks by the rebels, and the decay and corruption from within thas has slowly bled the Empire into a painful and long death. If none of the Emperors that replace Tsuba aren't different from her, things will never change. The Order cannot allow that. Above all, we must preserve stability and prevent anarchy. A small but growing faction in the Shadow Order argues to cut all ties with the Gaborian Empire, and fully support the rebels, and by extention, you, Heir Nebi, and the others.

We are still debating the issue, but I am making sure to carry it forward to the High Elders. What will happen, I cannot predict. But if I am to be successful, you, at least, must live." Maul said, finishing his long monologue.

C.C.

"I'll do that." C.C. said. She kissed Katie on the cheek before walking away, making sure to keep up a slow pace. After all, they didn't say how fast she should walk to get there, right?

Kegan/Brighe

"I don't-" Kegan started to reply, stopping immediately as he felt Brighe's hand on his shoulder.

"Nephew, he is being honest with us. I think it would be wise to trust him, or at least, not to fight with him." Brighe stated her opinion before pulling her hand back.

Kegan was about to protest before he glanced back at Maul, an annoyed acceptance in his expression. "Fine, we'll trust you. How do you intend to help us?"

Katie

Katie waved as C.C. walked away. "Great, the Empire is going through a crisis, and I'm going to change people's bedsheets." Katie muttered to herself as she slipped on her comfortable shoes.

Maul

"Take this." Maul handed a small trinket to Brighe. "It's an experimental spell I've been working on. Attaching a transporting spell to a small item, and using it to take you to your destination. Simply speak your destination, and it will take you there, as long as it is in the Imperial City. Having many of these on your person saves time from saying your own spell. However, it will only work once. Remember that. Now, go. I can hear them coming. Hopefully, if we meet again, it will be with the Order's offer to support and join the rebellion."

As Maul spoke, the sound of approaching footsteps grew louder. From the sound of it, many guardsmen were storming over to their location. Within a few minutes, they'd all be here.

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe accepted the trinket, quickly holding up to her face so she could study the runes on it. The Elf went over the destination she had in mind over and over again, slipping her hand into Kegan's.

"Yeah, that'll be great." Kegan replied, still unsure whether or not he actually trusted Maul. "But you know, maybe you should try saving Carlisle, or Epiphany if their here. You know, people who wont be able to protect themselves?" Kegan suggested, but before he could get a reply from Maul, the scenery around him quickly changed as they appeared in an alley.

"Well then...it would seem that the Kaleesh was right." Brighe mused.

"Rein wont be here for at least another hour Kegan, so you wait here while I buy you some new clothes...." Brighe commented as she looked at her Nephew's tattered prison wear. "Do not let anyone see you!" Brighe ordered before she walked out of the Alley and onto the empty streets.

Rein, Syrien

"We're here an hour early, so they probably aren't here yet. We'll have to wait awhile." Rein explained to Syrien as the walked. The older Elf now held a sleeping Atiya while also carrying their bags. It hadn't been all that hard leaving the palace. The chaos happening at the Arena provided a nice distraction, and they hadn't been questioned so far. Now they were arriving at their appointed destination, albeit an hour early.

Rein reached the alleyway, and began to head into it. The female Humage held her breath and felt as if her heart had stopped at the sight of the person already in the alleyway. He was thinner and taller than the last time she had seen him, but it was still her beloved Kegan.

"Kegan?" Rein breathed, hardly believing that she was seeing him again, after so long. It felt almost like a dream, it seemed so surreal...but it was actually happening. After two long, tortorous years, Kegan was once again in front of her.

Rein took an uncertain step toward him, before breaking into a full run. She embraced him with great force, not caring for the moment if she accidentally hurt him. Rein couldn't help but cry into his shoulder as she hugged him fiercely.

"I'm so happy," she managed to get out, "To see you again."

Maul

Once Brighe and Kegan were gone, Maul misdirected the approaching guards and claimed that they had gone toward the east. Once they were out of sight, Maul used one of his own little trinkets to transport were Carlisle had last been reported being sighted.

"Carlisle?" Maul shouted, looking around the bridge.

Carlisle

Carlisle stopped in place as he heard Maul's voice. The Doctor's mind began to race as he tried to decide how to react. "Where to run...where to run... Can't go in the river, this is the closest it gets to the walls of the city... And besides, it just heads towards the Castle from here. Running? No, Maul's probably faster then you. That just leaves...." Carlisle realized as he turned around and looked at Maul.

Carlisle bit his lip before taking a step toward Maul. "I'm not going to let you take me in this time, Maul." He replied, his voice still raspy and quiet as he tried to get used to talking again.

Kegan

Kegan stopped in shock as he saw Rein a few feet away from him, though he had no time to react as she quickly embraced him. "R-rein..." Kegan stated quietly, his voice cracking as he began to get emotional. The boy didn't reply to Rein's words those as he just embraced her tightly in return.

Maul

"I'm not going to take you in. I'm here to help." Maul said, taking a slow step toward Carlisle. He didn't want to startle the doctor by accident. Maul was powerful himself, but no doubt Carlisle had been forced to hone his skills to getter levels than before in the Arena.

Rein

"You jerk," Rein mumbled after her sobbing had mostly subsided. She weakly pounded a fist on Kegan's chest. "Don't you ever leave me again, no matter what. I don't care about Tsuba, the Empire, or anything else, Kegan. I know the risks, and I'll take them no matter what. As long as I'm with you, I'll always be happy."

Rein tried to speak further, but couldn't find the right words. She eventually settled on just leaning up and kissing Kegan on the lips. She held it for a good few minutes before breaking it. Again, she hugged her lover fiercely. Syrien, meanwhile, hung back at the alley's entrance. He would let Rein and Kegan have their moment.

Carlisle

Carlisle took a step back as he noticed that Maul was nearing him. He didn't want the Kaleesh to get too close, not yet. "I just want to go. I swear, I'm not gonna hurt anyone." Carlisle said, practically begging as he stared down at Maul.
The Doctor was pretty certain that he would beat Maul in a fight, even if Maul has a weapon and basic nourishment while Carlisle hadn't. But by the time Carlisle would even be finished fighting, the rest of Tsuba's slaves and soldiers would be there.

Kegan

After Rein was done, Kegan began to cry as well before he loosened up his grip on Rein so he could lean down, wanting to be able to look her in the eye. "I know Rein....I'm sorry." He replied before kissing her again. "But you know why I had to leave you behind back then... But I promise you, I wont leave you behind again. Ok?"

Nix
"Then you wont mind helping us." Nix said. He walked closer to the boy. "Hmm..." He said eying Nebi's sword. "Its not great, but it will do. These runes on your neck, however, must go." Nix removed a small book and a pen from his pocket.

"I'm looking for a prisoner. Good fighter. Blond hair, violet eyes, and has a lot of scars. Ring any bells?" Nix asked as he ripped a piece of paper from the book and drew the appropriate rune to dis-spell the magic suppressing seal. "This is gonna hurt a bit." He warned pressing the paper to the boys neck. There was a flash of burning light as the rune imprinted itself on the seal, fully dispelling it. "That should do it' He said, looking at the paper which now had a smoldering hole in the space where the rune was.

Maul

"I know, Carlisle. You must have gone through hell and back at that Arena. I'm not going to take you back there. I give you my word as your friend, Carlisle, I will not take you back to Tsuba." Maul assured. He took another small step toward Carlisle.

Rein

"Ok." Rein mumbled, kissing him back. She clinged on to him, not wanting to let him go. Syrien let them be like that for another few minutes before approaching them.

"I am sorry to ruin the moment, but we must leave soon. Is Brighe nearby, Heir Kegan?" Syrien asked. He shifted his weight to better carry Atiya.

Kegan/Brighe

Kegan stopped and let go of Rein as Syrien walked into the alley. Kegan wasn't sure what he should be more surprised and worried about, the fact that Syrien was here when Kegan knew that Tsuba would never let him go, or the fact that Syrien had a baby with him for some reason.

"Yes, she is." Brighe answered a large cloak in hand as she stood behind Syrien.

Carlisle

"Then why are you here Maul!?" Carlisle asked, shouting as he took a step towards Maul as well. And then another, Carlisle walked towards Maul before he was only a few feet away from the Kaleesh. "I just want to go." Carlisle asked, whispering again as he looked into Maul's eyes.

Maul

"I'm going to help you leave, Carlisle. I will do whatever I can to help you and the other Heirs from within Tsuba's inner circle. Here, take this." Maul handed Carlisle a small trinket.

"Whisper a location, and it will take you there. So long as it's in the Imperial City. It can take you to the edges of the capital, in a flash."

Rein, Syrien

"Ah, good. Then we can leave. To make a long story short, I have found a way to nullify my contract with Tsuba. I am coming with you all. I will not leave Rein and my....I will not leave my daughter behind." Syrien said at last, casting a quick glance at Kegan.

"Now, we need to leave. I can teleport us outside of the capital."

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe nodded, a satisfied look on her face after Syrien had given his explanation.

"Ok....well then what are we waiting for? Lets get out of this city. How about the Klan Province? It's quiet, peaceful... Good place to hang out for a while." Kegan suggested, his eyes on Syrien and his arm around Rein.

"No...A quiet place like that? Two Elves, a Humage, and an Heir look alike, and a baby would be noticed very easily, and the news and rumors would spread like a wildfire. We should go to the Aquarian Province. Far Southeastern Border fof the Empire, we could live on the sea and get food with ease. And traveling into the nearby cities would be easy, we wouldn't even be noticed. Plus, raising Atiya would be simple and easy." Brighe suggested before looking towards Syrien. "What do you think, Syrien?" Brighe asked as she turned towards the other Elf.

Carlisle

Carlisle accepted the trinket, grasping onto it carefully as though it could shatter in his hands at the slightest provocation. "Thank you..." The Doctor whispered as he looked down at gift from Maul. "Thank you." The Doctor restated as he embraced Maul.

Chris entered the castle. She moved slowly, but with purpose. She was lookng for someone specific. But as she walked she felt that she could pass along some words of advice. A small lip played on her lips.

She heard the soft steps of a woman and she slowed down.

"C.C. soon you're pain will come to an end, so make the best of now before it's too late, my dear."

Chris moved on, her smile growing.

Maul

Maul, somewhat awkwardly, hugged Carlisle back. "You are most welcome, friend. Now, you must go. Tsuba's men will be here soon."

Rein, Syrien

"That sound acceptable, Brighe." Syrien said, nodding. "Well, you all know the drill. Hold onto me, or a person touching a part of my body. My range doesn't quite extend to the Aquarian Province, so I'll have to teleport us three times to get there. Whatever you do, do not let go."

Rein quickly grabbed onto Syrien's sleeve, making sure Kegan was still attached to her. Once Brighe grabbed on, Syrien took them away. A desert plain surrounded them before they disappeared again, then to a dense forest. That quickly vanished as well, before being replaced by a snow-capped mountain. Finally, they transported again and arrived at their destination. A calm and serene beach was before them now.

"We are here." Syrien stated simply.

C.C.

C.C. blinked at the whispered words, and stared at the mysterious girl as she walked away. She hesitated, but soon resumed her pace to the Arena.

Liona cleaned herself off quickly before the prisoners started for the door. She began to fight a few of them off, but it wasn't going very well; there were too many. The other soldiers should soon be arriving, she told herself. She'd heard the orders from Captain Rhys, above her and kilometers away. A couple of times, she'd gotten them to fall, prevented them from exiting, and threw them back into the prison. But it was impossible to fight them all off alone. Maybe she should go back up to the Collesseum... no, no one was down here yet but her. She finally felt useful, and she couldn't fail now.

Chris finally found the person she was searching for and she fully smiled.

"How touching. I'm glad I found you when I did," she said in Carlislie's direction.

Savina

Savina ran through the lower tunnels under the Colosseum, three other Soldiers following her closely. Captain Rhys had split up the platoons into multiple groups, and Savina was the leader of one of those groups. A few minutes ago another Humage had been connected back to the security grid, so now all they had to do was disable the rioting Prisoners and throw them back into their cells.

Savina stopped as she noticed a lone Knight, who had obviously bitten off more then she could chew. "Soldiers, help this Woman." Savina ordered before running up and helping the Knight fight one of the Prisoners coming at her from the far right.

"Nice...." Kegan commented as he stared at the vast ocean that laid out before them.

Carlisle

Carlisle froze as he heard another voice. "Another Soldier?" The Doctor wondered as he released Maul and turned around slowly. Carlisle was surprised to see a young girl standing on the bridge, especially when he realized that she was blind. "Yes?"

"You are Carlislie right," Chris asked, when he spoke to her. She moved a little closer so it would be easier to talk to him. She found speaking when far away kind of hard.

Rein, Syrien

"Um, Kegan....there's something we should talk about." Rein began, glancing back at Atiya. She bit her lip nervously, wondering how Kegan was gonna handle this. Atiya, meanwhile, slowly stirred in Syrien's arms. Atiya tugged on her Grandfather's sleeve, and he let her down gently. The little girl went over to Rein, and tugged on her pants leg.

"Mommy? Who's this?" Atiya asked, pointing at Kegan.

Liona was grateful when the soldiers came down to the tunnels. She silently thanked Savina as she helped bring down a prisoner to her right. She continued fighting many others that surrounded her, tossing them back into the cells after she brought them down. Liona was careful not to kill or brutally injure any of them as she did this. She needed to at least knock them out or fight them enough that they couldn't resist her putting them back into the cells.

Sunny was doing well getting some of the prisoners back into their cells. She was of course the liutentent after all, but she was still a little freaked out about what happened. After all nothing this excited has happened since the competition.

Carlisle

Carlisle allowed the girl to walk closer, though he was still extremely wary of her. Just because she was small and blind didn't mean that she wasn't a threat. "I am..."

Kegan/Brighe

Kegan stared at the baby, his mind slowly piecing together what Rein was trying to tell him. "So I'm... And she's...."

"Yes Nephew, you are a Father, Atiya's your child, and you left Rein when she was pregnant. No time to feel guilty though, we need a shelter." Brighe replied as she walked past the others, bananas in hand.

Savina

Savina continued to fight alongside Liona and the other three Soldiers under her temporary command. They all made sure not to kill any of the Prisoners, if they didn't have to, at least. And that certainly didn't make the job any easier.

It took almost twenty minutes of non-stop fighting, but eventually, the Prisoners stopped rushing at them. It would seem that they had cleared the area, for now at least. "...Good job Men, now lets move these vermin back into their cells." Savina ordered between deep breathes.

Rein, Syrien

Syrien went over to join Brighe. "What do you think would be the best type of shelter to make? It's been over twenty years since I last left the capital, so my mind is a little fuzzy on these things."

"Yes, Kegan. Atiya is...our daughter. Atiya, this is....Daddy." Rein said, turning to the toddler, mostly to avoid looking Kegan in the eye. Atiya gave a slow nodded and looked at Kegan curiously.

"Daddy?" the little girl questioned, taking a step toward him. Rein gathered up her inner strength and looked back at Kegan.

"Kegan, before you say anything....you couldn't have known. I didn't, until a few weeks after you left me. You...don't need to feel gulity."
