Zach was ready to strange Orion. She knew he wasn't one to keep his mouth shut, but really? Provoking the new teacher.

Reginald, Sayo

"Watch your tongue, boy." Reginald warned, giving Orion an icy glare. "I am a teacher and your superior in life. You will respect me, or else. If these were the times of old, I would have your tongue cut out, and personally give you a hundred lashes for your impudence. But this is not that time, and I am a...lenient man. That is your first strike, Mr. Orion. You have two left. Once you use those up, you shall receive detention. I will not accept comments like that in my class. And no, I do not have a 'thing' for young girls, as you so put it. I am simply curious about Miss Amy. As a man of science."

Mr. Fau glanced at Orion one last time, muttering something under his breath. He also looked at Amy another time before limping over to his desk. "Now, any questions before I begin the class? And before anyone asks, no, I will not tell you why I have a limp. Neither will I answer to any crude comments, such as questions about my sexual life, or if I'm the spawn of Satan. I've heard it all, believe me. This is not my first time teaching you children."

Jacob

"Mister Fau, you get whatever you want, don't you?" Jacob asked rhetorically as he looked at the stern teacher. Jacob could tell that he and the substitute were going to hate each other, but he didn't really care.

Amy raised her hand. She was curious about one thing. Why he had decided to teach. She hoped that he wouldn't mind the question.

'You know, for some reason, even I don't want to see what would happen with the third strike,' Orion mused to himself. He watched the teacher with a frown. He was sure that if he could get away with it, he really would cut out his tongue. Murderer suspect number 1?

He watched Amy raised her hand and frowned. He had a feeling that the teacher wouldn't be pleasant to the innocent girl.

Reginald, Sayo

"Strike one, Mr. Jacob. Raise your hand next time. In an answer to your query, yes and no. I can get nearly anything I want...but money cannot buy everything. I know that by experience." Mr. Fau said, with a far-off look in his eyes. He shortly returned to the present and turned his attention to Amy.

"Yes, Miss Amy?"

Sayo himself didn't have any questions, but he also didn't entirely like the guy. He didn't seem to like teenagers at all (which was somewhat understandable), so why teach them anyway? And just what was the deal he had with Amy? Sayo really didn't like the way he spoke of her, or how he looked at Amy.

"I was just curious as to why you took the job. You don't have to answer it though. It's just that most substitutes are just that. So I was curious as to why someone like yourself would want to teach," Amy asked. She didn't dislike the guy unlike her friends. In fact she had no real opinion of him yet. Someone about him did seem off, but she wasn't one to judge people right away.

Reginald

"My reasons as to why I have decided to teach here are my own, girl. I do not have to explain them to someone like......to you. It certainly wasn't me liking you kids and wanting to help you out, of course. I can assure you of that. But let me just say this: there is a goal I have, that I have been looking forward to achieving for a long time. I hope to achieve it here." Reginald said in an icy tone.

"Any other questions?" Reginald asked, addressng the class.

Zach was tempted to ask why he was such an ass, but she held her tongue. She wasn't one for causing trouble. A voice in the back asked quietly,

"Are you going to start where we left off?"

Amy nodded, taking the information in. She had a feeling he wasn't going to say much. But she felt that was fine. After all some things were better left unsaid.

Reginald Fau

"Yes, we will. Students, open your textbooks and turn to page 345. We're going to study the wonderful world of cellular division...."

Reginald than began to drone on at the subject at hand. Surprisingly, he was well informed about what he was speaking about, but Mr. Fau didn't seem to want to keep the attention of most of the class with his boring-ish voice.

General Narrative

Eventually Mr. Fau's class came to a close, much to the relief of his students. The bell rang, signaling the end of the first class of the day.

Amy and Zach left the room. Amy looked back at Mr. Fau, but then she was out the door.

"So that was awful. I hope the rest of the day is better," Zach commented. Amy just smiled as if she was sure it would be.

"What did I tell you about skipping school? Best idea ever," Orion stated as he followed the others, grimacing a little, "I already hate this class."

Jacob

"Trust me, skipping? Not as good as you'd think. They have a cop waiting three blocks away from the school on Maple. I think he's just sitting there waiting for kids." Jacob informed Orion as he followed his friends.

"But yeah, that substitute is such an asshole."

Sayo

"I may not call him....that, but the class was certainly better under Mr. John." Sayo reluctantly agreed. Mr. Fau may know his stuff, but he wasn't the best teacher he'd ever had.

"Not to mention I sorta got a bad vibe from him," Sayo added.

"Hey, Braxton! Got a letter for ya." a co-woker of the reporter's said, walking over to the man.

Jacob

"Sort of? The Man hates Children. He's not even hiding that fact. Combined with the fact thta he's acting like a total pedo when it comes to Amy, and you have the perfect formula for worst teacher we've ever had." Jacob protested to Sayo as he tried to convince his friend to say something disrespectful about the Teacher.

Michel

"Hmm, yeah?" Michel asked as he looked up from his computer. The Reporter had been busy the past couple of days, after he broke the story about the killer the people of the town were craving for more information on what had happened. "Who was the killer? Why was he killing? And would he kill again?" Were the most popular questions, and Michel was the one who had been assigned to look for the answers to them, but it wasn't an easy job.

"The officer is easy to avoid. You just need to cut through the bushes and make sure he isn't looking when you do so," Orion stated.

"Dude, it was obvious the moment that he spoke that he hated children," he agreed with Jacob.

Jacob

"yeah well its a bit late for that now. I got an even worse punishment then detention for being caught. I'm going to the school counselor." Jacob informed his friends, annoyed with his fate but knowing that he had no way of getting out of it.

"That's a drag, Orion sympathized, "She's going to try to psycho-analyze you for this. You're a braver man than. I'll miss you."

He patted his shoulder.

((Now I'm waiting to see Amy ask what a Pedo is. Hehehe.))

Sayo

"Well..." Sayo said, reluctant to agree with what Jacob was saying. He wasn't sure he would call their new science teacher a pedo, but he certainly wasn't getting a good feeling from the guy. He seemed to dislike Amy, (if he was right) though Sayo couldn't tell why.

"You got a letter. Here ya go." the co-worker said, handing his fellow reporter the letter. It was addressed to him, but there was no return address.

"Pedo," Amy asked, looking confused. "What's a pedo?"

Zach was taking a drink of water when she asked this and she almost choked. She sent a death glare at Jacob.

"Nothing Amy. It's um....Sayo will explain! I have to get to gym. Later!"

Zach ran down the hall, making her escape. Amy turned to Sayo, waiting for him to answer.

Sayo

"Wait, what now?!" Sayo asked, but Amy was already gone. He gulped and turned to Amy, seeing an expectant look on her face. Oh boy...how was he gonna explain that?

"W-Well...uh...it's hard to explain..." Sayo said at last. He hoped that feeble excuse would get him out of this. But he doubted it.

"It's ok," Amy said. She could understand that it might be a hard subject to explain, but she was really curious. "Just explain it the best you can."

Sayo

"Um....well...." Sayo searched for either the simplest explanation he could think of, or any way to get out of this horrible situation. Sadly, he couldn't see any way for the latter. Sighing, Sayo finally decided on an explanation he thought was best, and couldn't damage Amy's innocence.

"Well...a pedo...is a an adult who likes children, basically."

"Oh," Amy said. She wondered if he meant it in a bad way or a good way, but she didn't pry farther. She was beginning to see that Sayo was uncomfortable with the subject. "Anyways I think we should get to our next class."
