This World

"Yeah, we are," Orion said, trying to sound sincere but failing. Honestly, he'd had a crush on Zach for a long time and just when they wree on a sor-of-date, the janitor had to ruin it.

"What do you want with this place?" he asked, hoping that his favorite place in school wasn't going to be ruined.

Janitor

The janitor looked displeased at the students, but wasn't in the mood for a lecture. "Go on, go to class. I'm not in the mood to make you cry, and I could care less about the room. Go ahead and get outta here, before I call a teacher.

Sayo

Sayo fell to the ground as they began to pumble him fiercely. Sayo did his best to brace for the pain, but it still hurt like hell. He opened an eye to see Amy, tears gathering at her eyes. Feeling a burst of adreneline and inspiration, Sayo start to get up and sprang on the guy nearest to him, tackling the jerk. He quickly gave a vicious punch to the man's groin and got back up, swung a fist at the third guy.

He sure did wish now he'd taken karate class...

Zach nodded as she dragged Orion down the hall. The janitor may not be in the mood for a lecture, but she was.

"See? This is why you don't skip class. What if he told someone? Or took control of the room?"

Two were down, but the last one wasn't going to be so easy. He grabbed Sayo's fist and began twisting his arm, ready to tear it off.

Amy couldn't take it anymore. "STOP!!!"

All four guys ended up on the ground, Amy free. She ran over to Sayo, still afraid. A teacher came down the hall.

"What is going on?"

"He attacked us," one of the said. The others nodded. But the teacher shook her head. She knew these boys.

"Don't lie. All of you to the office. And you two. Get to class. Be lucky I'm not sending you as well."

The four boys grumbled, but walked off.

Sayo

"Are you ok?" Sayo asked Amy with concern. The adreneline he felt started to fade, and the pain Sayo felt started catching up with him. He winced as he felt the bruises forming all over him. He knew what he had done was foolish and stupid, but it had been worth it to save Amy.

"Sayo." Amy frowned and hugged him. "I'm sorry I caused you to get hurt. And now we are late for class. And I almost got you into trouble as well. I'm so sorry."

Sayo

"Don't worry, i-i-it's f-fine, Amy." Sayo assured, his face turning bright red. He was unused to contact from members of the opposite sex, much less used to having a girl hugging him. Much less a pretty girl like Amy. Without thinking, Sayo took a step back, but ended up losing his balance. He gave a short yelp before crashing to the ground, unintentionally bringing Amy down on top of him. While the fall did hurt some, Sayo pretty much forgot the pain as he realized that a frickin girl was on top of him! By accident, however, but still....

Sayo froze and his face took on a brighter shade of red. He really hoped that Amy's mind was still pure....and the he wouldn't do anything to embarrass himself....

"Think happy and pure thoughts, anything but this....think of church....God....my parents.....Zach, if she ever saw this...." Sayo thought desperately. Not exactly pure thoughts, but they'd all have the same reaction to this scene, no doubt. But he was afraid of Zach the most...

Amy laughed after they fell. She found it funny that they fell. She looked down at Sayo beaming at him. But she was concerned as well. If he fell then he must not be as ok as he said.

"Are you sure you're ok? Do you need to go to the nurse?"

"I-I'm f-f-fine." Sayo assured her again, trying to gain control of his whirling emotions. He gently slid Amy off of him and gently stood back up, offering Amy his hand.

"Come on, we better get to class. We're late enough as it is." he wondered if the others were already in class since they had parted. If they were, hopefully they wouldn't question Amy and his' absense. Sayo definitely did not want them to reach the wrong conclusions.

Amy nodded and walked into class. People were reading out of the book and writing, but there was some talking as well. Amy took her seat and noticed that Zach's was still empty. Just as she thought that, the girl walked in, Orion in tow. Zach took her seat next to Amy and pulled out her book.

"Sorry I'm late."

"It's ok. I was too."

"Really? Why?"

"Some guys attacked me," she explained. "But then Sayo saved me."

"Well that's Sayo for you."

"Yep, he's all prim and proper," Orion said with a laugh, sitting next to Zach, trying not sulk. He frowned, "Sorry about that whole mess, Zach. It doesn't usually happen when I skip. We were just unlucky."

He leaned back and placed his feet on his desk, unheedful of the glares the teacher was giving him.

Zach swiped at Orion's legs. Just because they were going out now, she wasn't going to let him get away with misbehaving.

"It's ok. At least we didn't get into trouble."

"Yep, that's always a plus," Orion told her with a grin, reluctantly bringing his hands down. He turned tot her and teased, "Zach, it's relatively early for inappropriate touching. My legs? What if you missed and aimed a little higher."

(LOL. You can tell Orion is the bad boy/immoral one.)

Zach shot him a look and shook her head. This was going to be an interesting relationship that was for sure. She looked down at her book, trying to focus on her work now.

Amy was almost done already. Once she finished, she thought about what happened earlier. How those boys suddenly were on the floor. Amy tried to recall if Sayo might have hit all of them enough for that to happen, but it was unclear. Amy pushed the thought out of her mind. She decided she shouldn't worry. No one got hurt, really. That was all that matter.

((Say, mind not implying the teacher had given them work to do? He is my character, and I haven't had him do anything yet.))

(They could be doing last night's homework. I know when we have a substitute we do it in class. XD I'm sorry. I wasn't sure what was going on when they entered the room.)

((Ok. Well, that sounds good. The homework thing.))

Orion smirked. He knew she liked his teasing. He took out his own homework. Surprisingly, he actually did it. It was B- material, even. He leaned back on his chair and turned to Zach, "Your homework's not done?"

"No. I had to deal with my sister almost all night and I couldn't get it finished. Same with Amy, though she tried her hardest."

"I feel bad for not finishing it," Amy stated. "But I wanted to help Zach and her sister get along. It didn't go well."

"Your sister's a brat," Orion told her with a shrug, "You don't have to be so nice to her. Just yell at her. That always works."

(It's alright that I used the Principal, right Magus?)

Jacob

"Look, I just didn't feel like going to school today. Not like anything important was happening today anyways." Jacob informed the Principal as he slouched in his seat. The boy had been found by the police about fifteen minutes ago, and they had immediately take Jacob to the school for his truancy. Surprisingly though, the Principal hadn't yelled at him yet, the man hadn't even gotten stern with him. That was disconcerting for Jacob, as this had never happened before.

"So can I go to class now, Sir?" Jacob asked, emphasizing the Sir in a mocking sarcastic way to show how frustrated he was.

"Not just yet, Jacob." The Principal replied as he sat down in his seat, the sternness that Jacob was used to finally evident in the man's voice. "So tell me Jacob, how have you been since you and your friends found Mr. Johns body?" He asked compassionately, though Jacob found it to be condescending and infuriating.

"Look, Sir, I'm fine. Now can I just go to class and I'll see you in detention later then?" Jacob asked as he stood up.

"No, no you're not getting detention, Jacob. Not this time." The Principal replied, causing Jacob to pause in confusion as he tried to figure out what was going on. "But you will be seeing the school Councilor for the next two weeks, every school day, during your break period."

"But that's not-." Jacob began to protest before the Principal glared at him in a challenging way. "Uh." Jacob groaned before quickly walking out of the office, ready to finally go to class now so he could at least complain to his friends about what had happened.

Reginald Fau, Sayo

Unlike the others, Sayo had already finished his homework from last night. To pass the time, he was now readying the book. He was content to do that for the rest of the class period until Jacob came in late. Once he took his seat, Mr. Fau stood up. After gaining everyone's attention by banging his cain against the blackboard, he spoke.

"Good morning, brats. I am Reginald Fau, CEO of Fau Enterprises. You shall all address me as Mr. Fau. Not Reginald, or Reggy. You should all feel lucky I have deemed your school worthy for me to teach at. Now, until a new permanent teacher is found, I shall be your 'substitute', for a lack of a better word. I trust we can all get along for the time I'm here, no? Good."

As he spoke, Reginald scanned the entire class, briefly locking eyes with each student. His gaze came to rest once he reached Amy. His lips slowly curled into a grim smile.

"Ah, Miss Amy. Our little celebrity. I have read much about you in the local newspaper. It is quite the....honor....to meet you at last." Reginald said.

"Celebrity," Amy echoed, not sure what he was talking about. "I'm not a celebrity. But thank you sir all the same. It is a pleasure to meet you as well."

"I would, but my parents would give me hell about it. After all she is just visiting from college and it's been so long since they've seen their 'perfect angel'." Zach whispered.

Reginald Fau

Reginald's eyes flashed toward Zach. Without warning, his cain striked her desk, causing those who hadn't been paying attention to him to nearly jump out of their seats. Reginald's cain had not hit her books or any of Zach's body, but it had gotten close. His grim smile was now gone, replaced by a scowl.

"You will pay attention to me when I speak, girl. If I catch you talking again, you will have detention." Mr. Fau warned. After a short pause, he turned back to Amy.

"Well, when you first arrived, you caused quite a stir within this town. A girl with no memory whatsoever, stumbling around in the woods, is not a usual occurence. You made things quite interesting around here when you first arrived. But then that serial killer popped up, and you were all but forgotten by this town. Well, no matter. It is a pleasure to meet you as well, my dear. I've been looking forward to this meeting for a very long time." Reginald said, smiling once more. Though the smile did not reach his eyes.

Zach opened her mouth in protest, but then shut it. She didn't like this guy at all.

"I don't care if people talk about me or not," Amy said. "I never went looking for all the attention I was getting. All I want is to regain my memories and go home. And in a way I am thankful that some of the pressure is taken off of me."

Amy smiled back sincerely.

Orion scowled. He had immediately decided he disliked this man and not just because of the way he treated Zach and Amy. His words seemed oily, as though he had a hidden agenda. Why was a businessman teaching?

"Interested in young girls, are we?" he asked with a grin. He really couldn't resist an opening his last sentence provided, after all.
