Into the Netherworld (Real Terror Universe)

"Thanks, I think that we should keep going, if we're lucky your grandfather has decided not to kill us for this little adventure." She told Thomas, standing up and walking around a little bit.

"You think he's found out yet?" Thomas asked her worriedly with a gulp.

"Has he ever missed anything like this before?" She askked dryly
"He wouldn't be ruler of the Netherworld if he didn't know everything, it's slightly annoying."

"He's probably waiting for just the right moment to catch us," Thomas said with a frown, "I know his sense of humor. I get it from him."

"Soon enough, he'll probably end up hospitalizing somebody.... again." She trailed off in her head and then laughed.
"Best. Christmas Party. Ever."

"Hey, they weren't permanently harmed and they did deserve it!" Thomas exclaimed with a mischievous grin, "I was hoping he'd teach me that trick."

"Yes, well, if we dont want to die, than we should endanger ourselves so he has to save us." She suggested with a smile.

"Yeah. We can play the cute kid in danger card," Thomas laughed, "He's so old that he could still think of us as kids, right? He still calls you 'Princess', doesn't he Lily?"

He smirked teasingly at her.

Taryn couldn't keep a straight face at the idea of Lily being called Princess. She made a noise that was somewhere between a laugh and a snort.

Thomas smiled mischievously at his other friend, unable to resist teasing her as well,"That reminds me Taryn, what should I be calling you now that we're going out? Enchantress?"

Taryn shook her head, smiling at him. She'd had many negative nicknaming experiences in the past regarding the spelling of her name. The experiences were usually more negative for the nicknamer when she lost her temper. She knew this wouldn't be one of those times, but she still replied, "You can call me by my name."

"But how can I describe how you enchant me?" he asked her with a smile before laughing a little, remembering all the times their group teased 'lovebirds'.

Taryn giggled a bit, before kissing him for a moment. She smiled softly, "You don't need to."

Thomas grinned and kissed her back happily. He never grew tired of this, especially when they had an audience to disgust. He pulled away and looked her in the eyes, "I know."

Charlie just grinned at the pair, but Hanyer looked away. He was feeling out of place again. He always hated that he never really had anything special about him. He was just a plain human.

"So what are we going to do," he asked, trying to get everyone back on track.

"Well, who wants to be in danger?" She asked,
"And who will be the last minute savior if the old man doesn't show?"

"I'll be the victim," Hanyer said suddenly. "I mean I don't have many uses, so being the male version of a damsel in distress should be right up my alley."

'What would be a male version? A dam?" Charlie began to giggle. "Damn..."

Taryn laughed slightly at Charlie's joke. "I'll be the last minute savior if Mr. Stine doesn't show." Not that he's likely not to. I wouldn't be surprised if he was listening to us right now. Waiting to catch us in the act.

"Are you sure you want to be used as bait?" Thomas asked Hanyer in concern, "We could do something else to draw Grandad out."

"I don't mind," Hanyer reassured Thomas. He didn't want to chicken out now that he had offered. "And ok Taryn. I'll be trusting you."

(I have the strangest hunch that Thomas's grandfather is Laharl when it's not. The title just makes me think it. I need to stop playing Disgaea....)

Taryn looked at Hanyer and nodded, "Alright. I'll keep you safe. Let's just make sure we don't do anything too risky." The last thing she wanted was for him to get hurt again because of her.

(LOL.)

"I agree," Thomas said with a nod, stroking his chin in thought, "Any ideas about what to do to attract my Grandfather's notice?"

"We could have him get up in a tree and then almost fall off... or poke around near something dangerous..." Taryn said, quietly thinking aloud. It sounded kind of sick, even though it wasn't real.

"Or we can insult my Grandad a lot and get him mad enough to strangle me Homer-Simpson style," Thomas told her, smiling a bit.

"I could find a cliff and try and throw myself off of it," Hanyer suggested. That suggestion earned him a whack from Charlie.

"Not something that could go horribly wrong."
