Into the Netherworld (Real Terror Universe)

Taryn shook her head, refusing to let Thomas take most of the blow and positioned herself beside him, also in an upright position. She braced for impact, having heard that falling into water from high distances was like hitting concrete.

Thomas gulped as they approached the water. Actually fearing for his life now, he said, "Taryn, I love y-..."

He was cut off by a splash, sinking almost to the bottom of the lake. His eyes widened as he struggled to come up, too busy choking on water in his lungs to wonder how he was still alive. He brok the surface and gasped for air.

Taryn was taken aback when she heard him, but her mind did lose it when she hit the water. Her knee scraped the gravelly bottom of the lake. She took a moment to look around. The water was clear to a certain distance. No fish... She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Her lungs screamed for air.

She clawed her way to the surface, taking in a sharp breath.

Thomas grinned a little when he saw Taryn, relieved that she survived. He spoke, "Well, we lived. That's good. Remind me never to jump off a cliff again, though."

Hanyer saw the water and let go of Lily. He went over to Charlie, who couldn't swim and took her hands.

"Don't worry. I won't let you drown."

Charlie nodded as they hit the water. She tried not to breathe in but it was hard. She started to cough, once Hanyer pulled her to the surface, a hand wrapped around her waist.

"You ok?"

"Fine."

Lily bombed into the water, and her ankle twisted at a nasty angle when she hit bottom, her nose filled with water and she was disoriented, she forgot the fact that it took her twelve years to learn to swim without holding her nose, and so she usually got watter all up her nose. She used her arms to try and just paddle her way up, but that was proving difficult.

"Lily do you need help?" Hanyer was helping Charlie stay afloat, but he didn't want Lily to drown.

She eventually got to the surface and spit up the water, and she spoke
"Help me get to the edge, I hurt my foot."

Hanyer swam over to her and with the help of Charlie, they helped Lily get to the shore.

Hanyer just laid there for a second, panting from all that swimming. "Well let's never do that again."

"Deal." She agreed, panting. She felt her ankle
"Well, It'll swell, but I think I didn't break it this time." She said to herself.

"Are you okay, Taryn?" Thom asked after a few minutes of gasping for air. He looked over at his girlfriend in concern and looked to the side to see his others friends okay. At the moment, he felt rather relieved.

Taryn nodded, "I'm fine. Are you alright?" The morphine that accompanied the adrenaline was taking care of pain if she had any. She looked to the edge to see if everyone had made it and they had.

"Good. Do you need any help swimming to shore?" he asked, unsure if he could make it back by himself.

Taryn shook her head, "No. I can get there." The distance wasn't too far and she was a swimmer. "Do you?" she asked.

"Um... I don't think so," he muttered to himself, blushing a little. He was still having trouble breathing from the impact and his chest hurt. He looked away in embarrassment.

"I might be able to summon something that could heal it, though I might summon something that would make it worse," Charlie offered.

"No I think we just need to bind it. That way the swell won't be too bad. Although I'm not a very good doctor so I may be wrong."

Taryn stifled a laugh at his blushing, not wanting to bruise his ego at the moment. She nodded, smiling slightly, "Okay." She put an arm around him and started toward the shore.

Thomas smiled at her gratefully and began to swim to shore as well, struggling to make sure he wasn't too much of a burden. When they reached shore, he shook his head, "Taryn I was scared of losing your for a moment before we hit the lake."

Taryn hugged Thomas for a moment, kissing his cheek, "I was scared of losing you, too." And that brought her back to what he'd almost said to her. She didn't want to address it just yet. "Let's make sure they're okay," she said, nodding to Charlie, Lily and Hanyer.

He hugged her back, kissing her gently on the lips as he did so before reluctantly pulling away and turning to the others. He spoke, "Are you guys okay? Any broken bones or anything?"

"Well my body is still a little sore from being tossed before," Hanyer admitted, know that he was thinking about it.

"I'm fine," Charlie said.

"Sligtly sprained ankle, I lost my bag." She said,
"But otherwise, No loss." She rubbed her ankle a little, and then left it alone.

Taryn nodded, looking from Lily to her ankle with concern, "Okay. We should try and splint that, then. Or at least wrap it so it heals up alright."

"I think I have some bandages in my pack," Thomas said thoughtfully, taking off and opening his backpack as he did so, grateful that it kept most of the water out of it. He took out a roll of bandages and handed it to Taryn.

"Thank you," Taryn said taking the bandages, before carefully wrapping Lily's ankle. She kept the bandage snug, but not too tight and tried her best not to hurt her.
