We have to WHAT?! [A Pokemon Rp] [PG-13] [OPEN! 8D]

"Poochyena!" Wolf cried out happily as the teen picked up Wolf's Pokeball off the ground. "Was that Shadowball? Cool! Dig's pretty sweet too."

Wolf wagged its tail, ran up to Syd and started pawing his leg. The trainer crouched down one one knee, and started petting its head. "You know Wolf, you seem kind of different. Like you got bigger or something..." The Pokemon just put its front paws on the teen's knee, and started licking his face. " Okay, okay! That's enough already."

Syd set the dog on the ground, and stood up. "Well, we better get going...'though I'm not sure exactly where to. Not like I did earlier though, haha." He started walking away, but something caught the corner of his eye. "What's that?" the teen wondered as he walked toward a small object that was almost completely hidden in the bushes. Syd bent down and picked the object up.

"Hey, it's a Pokeball! Wonder what it was doing here...hey, it's empty. Well, it's still a sweet find. Come on; let's get out of here Wolf." The dog barked in compliance, and the two walked out of the woods down the path.

John shot Gible a look before moving over to Taylor's side. "Yeah, it is pretty nice. I'm suprised there are no houses around here...prime real estate right here." The teen looked down at his companion, before taking a seat.

"I suppose we can kick around here for a bit. Sides, might be nice to get to know the person I'm going to be traveling with." He chuckled at the small joke, before tossing a rock at the lake. "So, what's your reason? For going on the trip, I mean."

Gible plopped down beside him, yawning absentmindly as if from boredom.

Taylor locked her fingers together and stretched her arms out in front of her, causing her knuckles to crack. "Just moved actually. Parents wanted me to go on the trip to try and make some new friends before the school year started. I didn't really have much say in the matter, but, it was better than sitting around doing nothing." She let her arms drop, using them to prop her up.

"What about you? What promted you to come out on this excursion?"

Houndour slowly slid out of his sitting postion, till he was stretched out beside her. He laid his head in her lap, looking out across the lake.

"My mom wanted me out of the house, as she was bringing over some important cilents for some big purchase. I remembered that the school was offering a trip, and figured I'd just get out of the house for a week or two." John stretched his legs out, before propping himself up on his elbows.

"The beach is always fun, I figured. Sun, ice cream, swimming. Good times. Course, now I'm lost in god knows where, with a strange shark thing following me around." He was silent for a moment, before he jolted up and looked at Taylor. "I got to met you though! That's a good thing! I wasn't implying that...I didn't mean..." Sighing, he hung his head. "I'm gonna shut up now."

Taylor laughed. "Its fine! Sheesh, you act like I'm gonna explode or something." She shook her head. "I know what you meant, you don't gotta shut up. We are lost in god knows where, with strange little critters following us around."

She glanced down at Houndour and scratched the top of his head with a hand. "Meeting each other has probably been the most normal thing that's happened to us so far." She looked back at him and smiled. "And I for one, am so glad it was you I crashed into. You're way better company than anyone else from the bus would of been."

Gible yanwed again, it's eyes half-lidded out of sheer boredom. A ripple in the water drew it's attention, and the small creature scrambled over to the edge of the water to get a better look. Out of the water, the large red form of a Magikarp appeared, and it quietly gaped at the land shark. Gible tilted it's head out of confusion, never having seen the strange creature before.

John raised an eyebrow at that, not noticing the Magikarp as his attention was focused on his companion. "What do you mean, Taylor?"

Taylor frowned. "Uh...well, I gu-"

"MY GOD! THAT IS THE LARGEST MAGIKARP I HAVE EVER SEEN!"

The head and shoulders of a very strange looking man suddenly filled the space between Taylor and John. He was franticaly scribbling in a small notepad, his eyes focused on the Magikarp. The man had bits of leaves and twigs stuck in his grey streaked brown hair, dirt smudged his face and clothes, and his glasses rested at an angle on his nose.

Taylor yelped, jumping at the sudden appearance of the man. Houndour jumped as well, his hackles raising as he scrambled to his feet and bared his teeth at the man.

John nearly felt himself come out of his skin at the sudden appearence of the strange man, and the teen fell over onto his back. Groaning, he looked at the man with an expression of 'what the hell?'. Following the man's gaze to the Magikarp, John found himself growing even more confused with each passing moment.

Gible turned around quickly, it's beady eyes wide with shock. The small creature hurried to John's side, before focusing back on the strange man.

Wtihout missing a beat the man turned away from the Magikarp, the commotion of everyone moving pulling his attention. His brown eyes widened behind his crooked glasses as he caught sight of John's Gible.

"My word! Your Gible has a larger than average headfin! I must study it!" He rose up from his knees, and started after Gible, stuffing his notepad in a pocket and pulling out a measuring tape.

Taylor eyed the man, shock written all over her face. "Excuse me, but what the hell are you doing here?!"

The man glared over his shoulder at Taylor. "Shh! I must study this Gible, no time for talking!" And with that, he was back at it.

Gible looked at the strange man approaching it, with some sort of strange device in his hand. To the small creature, it must have looked like the most terrifying of torture impliments, as it immeadiatly began to run away from the new human. "Gib! Gible Gib Gible!"

"No! Wait! Come back!" The man chased after the Gible, who remained just out of reach. "I just want to study you!"

With his back turned from everyone else, he wasn't able to see Houndour leap after him, snarling and growling as he chased the man down. "Houn! Dour houn houn!"

Taylor looked over at John, not quite believing what was going on. "Is he..? Are they..?" She shook her head before standing and moving over to help John up. "Should we be stoping this...?"

Once he was back on his feet, John shook his head quietly. "I...don't know. Gible dosen't seem very fond of him...nor does your dog." He took a step towards the three, as they raced about in circles, Gible in the lead, followed closely by the newcomer, and Houndour hot on his heels. "Maybe we should just get out of here..."

"Well, we can't just leave. He's still chasing Gible. And I don't think we should abandon the poor guy to face this...creepy man." Taylor watched the rediculous chase for a moment longer. "I think this has gone on long enough."

She stepped forward, to where she was closer to the trio. "Hey! Hey, guy! Who are you? And why the Hell are you chasing Gible?"

The man jolted to a stop, shocked. It looked as though he had actually forgotten John and Taylor were. "Me?" He asked.

Gible used the oppurtunity to retreat to the saftey of behind John's leg, poking it's head out just to make sure the man stayed away. John glanced at the small creature, before his eyes went to Taylor. "You sure it's smart to talk to this guy? He looks like he has a few screws loose upstairs...although, he could know where we are." The teen remained where he was, however, not wanting to get near the oddball.

Taylro glanced back at John. "It'll be fine. I've done this before. Kind of, anyway." She returned her attention to the man, who had gotten closer to her without her even noticing. "Whoa, buddy, personal space invasion!" She took a few steps back, resuming the distance between them.

She pinched the bridge of her nose, before sighing. "Alright, look. We've just got a few questions to ask. First off, who are you and what are you doing here?"

The man took a deep breath, raising a hand and pointing a finger at the sky. "I am Professor Dogwood! It is my duty as a Pokemon professor to study the strange, the odd, and the down right abnormal!"

"Right...And what is a pokemon?"

The professor gasped, as if he couldn't his ears. "What's a Pokemon?! Why pokemon are everywhere!" He swung his finger down and pointed at Houndour, who had settled on standing next to Taylor and looking threatening. "Your Houndour is a Pokemon!" Next his finger was jabbed at Gible's hidden form. "His Gible is a Pokemon!" And again his finger moved back and jabbed at the lake, where the Magikarp was still lougning. "That Magikarp is a Pokemon!" Dogwood was really getting himself worked up. "Pokemon are our partners in taking care of this world, just as they look after us, we look after them. It is Your duty as trainers to continue this cycle!"

John took a few steps foward, putting himself closer to the man than Taylor, as a silent warning to the distance. "Alright, Professor. So, they're pokemon, but what do you mean when you call us trainers?" His gold eyes were narrowed on the strange man, and he had trouble believing that he was actually a professor.

With John gone, Gible quickly scampered behind Taylor, using her as his new sheild to stop the man from getting him with that strange thing in his hand.

"My dear boy, You and your friend are Trainers! You catch pokemon and train them, making them stronger. Your pokemon can battle each other, cuasing them to level up and eventually evolve! You and your partners can compete in contests, take the gym challenge, travel the world!"

"Okay...What do you mean by battle?" This time it was Taylor who spoke, seeming genuinly bewildered.

"You don't know how to battle?!"

The punk shook her head. The Professor looked to John expectantly.

"That seems like the kinda stuff that would get PETA on my case." John replied, although it was rather obvious he was just using the joke as a cover up. "I have no idea how to battle, Prof. Don't give me that look, it's the truth." He crossed his arms quietly, averting his gaze to a nearby tree that seemed to have grown far more interesting in the past few seconds.

"Why don't you show us how, Prof, if you're so amazed."

"Don't know how to battle...what are they teaching children these days..." The Professor muttered as he walked a ways away from John. "You!" He pointed at Taylor. "Come stand over here."

"Ookay..." Taylor made her way over to where Dogwood had indicated for her to stand. "What now?"

"Now, send Houndour out." Dogwood looked across the gap at John. "You do the same with your Gible."

"Uh...Houndour..go?" Houndour barked happily as he ran out in front of her. "Dour!"

John looked at the man for a moment, before looking at Taylor. "This was a bad idea." He muttered, before looking at Gible. "Let's roll." The land shark grinned wide, and hurried to it's postion.

"Gible Gib Gib Gib." It stared across the field at Houndour, obviously pleased with the chance to battle it's rival.

"Now, this is just a mock battle, so you'll each get to attack twice. After that, I'll explain the other important things about battles." Dogwood looked between the two, before nodding and stepping back. "Now, first off. You tell your Gible to use Sand-Attack. And you tell your Houndour to use Howl."

Taylor looked down at Houndour, who glanced up at her, but pretty much remained focused on its rival. "Well..." She looked over to John. "Here goes nothing. Houndour, use Howl."

"Houn!" Houndour threw back its head and howled.

"Now see? That move raised his attack stat."

"Gible, use Sand attack." John looked at the small creature, as it quickly grabbed a handful of sand, then flung it into the eyes of Houndour. Gible grinned at the action, before retreating back to a safe distance. "Huh. Well, that's gonna mess with his sight, am I right, Prof?"

"Oh yes! It will make his accuracy go down." Professor Dogwood nodded and guestured with a hand at Houndour.

Houndour shook its head, swiping at its eyes with a paw.

"Now, tell your Gible to use Tackle, and tell your Houndour to use Ember."

"Alright. Houndour, use Ember."

"Dour!" Houndour opened its mouth and spat a ball of fire at Gible.

(Guys I think I should drop out. I love Pokemon, but I can't keep up. Sorry.)
