Pokemon: Fusion Fighters

The first pokemon entered our world through unknown means a few years back. Their power was unrivaled, but they chose not to fight us, but befriend us, particularly children. The humans who found themselves with these strange yet wonderful companions were more or less between the ages of eight to sixteen. Battles became popular as means of bonding with pokemon and settling differences between their trainers, and tournaments became a regular part of life among pokemon trainers.

However, the pokemon chose the trainer, and only one pokemon ever truly bonded with a trainer. A trainer could never order another to do anything, for their was no way to cement a new bond after establishing one already. The Pokeball that many had seen in the games did not exist here, and without that tool, it was just not possible to befriend more than one pokemon.

This didn't stop people from trying, but all their attempts were fruitless. Laws regulating pokemon and their use came out, and while trying to allow freedom with their partners, trainers have to abide by certain laws, and are responsible for damages and injuries done. Most found that the pokemon listened well and had few problems with the laws.

Recently, however, something weird has been happening with a few people, fusion. The bond between trainer and pokemon had become so deep that the two could physically fuse together, in an ultimate form that combined human strategy with pokemon power to unleash their true might. Of all trainers, only around five percent had achieved this level of friendship, but it came with a cost.

Reports of a fused trainer and pokemon committing rampant crimes over the country have flown in as of late, and apparently the duo has ammassed a group of trainers who assist them in their wrongdoings. Now the government has gathered a group of trianers who have achieved fusion with their pokemon in order to find and defeat the evildoers.

Ok, so a point I should clear up right now. The fused trainers and pokemon take the shape of a human with the colors and some features of the pokemon. So a Bulbasaur fusion, for example, would be a blue person with fangs and red eyes and a bulb on the back, or an Aerodactyl would have the human shape with gray skin, big fangs, the horns, wings, and tail. Pokemon that already look human would pretty much be human completely except for the color and a few features, like Alakazam's mustache or Machamp's extra arms.

2. Cursing is allowed, just don't go overboard.
3. Questions are meant to be asked, so ask if you have one.
4. Let's keep blood and gore minimal, please.

Personality: Jacob is not comfortable around other people, and because of this his bond with his pokemon grew stronger than most others. He's a tender soul deep inside, but he's been hurt before, and doesn't let anyone get close to him. Other people tend to see him as a cold jerk because of this.
History: He experienced a bad betrayl when he was 14, his girlfriend at the time broke his heart and his trust by going out with the closest friend he had. After that, he was afraid to get close to anyone else, should they end up betraying him like his former loved ones had. A few weeks after this, Jolteon found him. After following him around for awhile, and despite his attempts to make it leave him, he grew to care for him. The two have fought together since, becoming one of the most recognized pairs in battling. It's only been a few days since they fused together.

Appearance: His brown hair lays flat on his head, cut short and bangs falling just above his eyes. He wears a black shirt, dark red pants, and a dark red coat that falls to his knees. He wears black shoes and white gloves, and has green eyes. When fused, he appears to look female, taking on some of the more femine aspects of the pokemon.
Personality: He sometimes comes off as stiff or cold, but he's nice if you get to know him. Magnus has a hard time talking to people because they don't generally understand him, and make assumptions about him before they know him.
History: Magnus was born to wealthy parents from a foreign country. He's a rich kid who doesn't have to worry about the future, but is well-rounded in several subjects and hobbies. Around the age of 14 he was almost friendless, because he couldn't call other high society peers friends, more like rivals. He met his companion Ralts around this time, and together they helped each other. Magnus helped Ralts come out of her shell, and Ralts gave him a real friend. Over the years Ralts evolved to a Gardevoir, and a couple of weeks ago they achieved fusion.

Appearance: A tall man with a lean athletic body, his blonde hair is spiky and sticks up. He has blue eyes that seem to pierce time and space, and he appears to have fangs. He wears a blue suit with yellow trims and white ruffle and wears a red-orange cape.
Personality: Cronus is a charming man who seems to be just a little too cold at times. He can be kind, though whether he means it is not apparent, and he shows true compassion with those he loves.
History: Cronus's past is unknown, though he does has a wife who may know more of it. Suffice to say that he spent a lot of time in the shadows, to accumulate his wealth, and somewhere along the way met Bagon, who he bonded with and helped train to become Salamence. He has begun to use their fusion form to rob places of their wealth and amass a legion of trainers who want different things from him. He doesn't aim to drastically alter the world, but he does seek to change it for the better, though his methods are not orthodox.

History: Crieg's father left as a trainer when she was still young and since that day she had wanted to follow in his footsteps. She worked hard learning all she could as a child and when she was twelve she planned to leave. Her mother forbidded her, but Crieg ran away. She eventually meant the Absol a few years later and after bonding with it she nicknamed if Midnight. They have fused a couple weeks ago for the first time.

History: William grew up on the streets of a small town, stealing and bribing his way through life. Because of this he came to dislike most people, but he still wished for a home and a family. He met Charmeleon one day who was also abandoned. They bonded over this fact and a year later they fused.

She knew nothing about her half-brother Daire as her father had decided to keep that quiet from her and her mother. So for most of her young life she lived as an only child. Her life was mainly boring until she came across a Chatot while playing in the woods. At first Remedy was scared of it. But she would come visit it at random times as well. Eventually she befriended the Pokemon and they bonded.
When she heard that her father had another family he left behind, Remedy ran away. She and Chatot planned to find her half-brother. They haven't achieved fusion yet but they are close.

He always thinks before he acts, but he occasionally misses obvious details when planning.
History: Daire was born in Norway, where he lived until he was fifteen. He had lived with his mother for the entire time, never meeting his Father. Unfortunately his Mother ended up being murdered by a wild Sandshrew, which caused him to loathe all pokemon. Daire spent the next seven months bouncing between relatives, eventually ending up living with his Uncle in upstate New York.
During the month of November, just a few weeks after his birthday, Daire met the Eevee pokemon that he would eventually bond with. At the beginning of their relationship, Daire tried to avoid the pokemon, still hating the Eevee because of his Mother's death. But over the next few months Daire began to notice that the Eevee was following him everywhere. After telling his Uncle Jack about the Pokemon, Jack suggested that maybe the Eevee had chosen Daire to be his trainer, and that perhaps they had a bond. The Teen scoffed at the idea originally, but as he began to contemplate the idea, Daire began to warm up to it. Eventually he took in the Pokemon, and began to train with it. By the time he was seventeen, Daire and his Eevee were well known for their skills in battle. Just a few months ago he finally fused with Eevee, originally surprised and frightened by it, Daire quickly grew to accept and enjoy what had happened.

Other: Daire speaks Norwegian, Italian, French, and English. He is Gay. He is also currently considering whether or not to use one of the elemental stones so he could let Eevee evolve into a more powerful Pokemon.

Personality: Douglas is laid back and full of good will. He is a very extroverted young boy and he goes out of his way to make other people feel comfortable. He isn't a very ambitious child, but he is intelligent and witty when needed.
History: Douglas was born in Los Angeles CA, but by the time he was three he lived on the big Island of Hawaii with his family. His Father is a Lawyer, and his Mother, a Journalist. Douglas has four older siblings, three Sisters and one Brother. Douglas took up surfing when he was around the age of nine, letting his friends teach him how to. When Douglas was twelve, he began to notice a Squirtle that would surf with him every day. Douglas quickly befriended the Pokemon, and began to play with him whenever possible. His Parents quickly accepted the idea that their son was a Pokemon trainer, and they let the Squirtle live with them and essentially become a part of the family. A few months after Douglas had gotten his Squirtle, his older Sister Ashley found a Bellsprout, and she quickly bonded with it. The Siblings decided that they would train and battle together so that both of them could become stronger together.
Three months ago, Ashley fused with her now evolved Victreebell, and quickly moved out of her Family's house afterward. Douglas doesn't know where she lives now, but he does know that his Sister is currently one of the many Fused Trainers who are breaking the law.

Narrative

"Welcome to the Oakelm regional Pokemon Tournament! Yesterday was full of excitement, but we're down to the semi-finals. Today's matchups are as follow: Jacob Olliver vs. Crieg Tavle, and Daire Skuld vs. Magnus Aldeburg. To save time, both matches will occur simultaneously. Remember, in a Tournament match there is no fusion, or you will be disqualified. Now, without further ado, let's get these matches going," the announcer shouted and the matches would soon begin.

Jacob walked onto his side of the arena, his Jolteon walking beside him. Neither seemed to be too emotive now, a small smile for the cameras was all Jacob gave before getting his mind into the match that would soon begin.

Magnus strode into the arena in another room, by contrast he was waving at the audience and blowing kisses to some of the girls. His partner Gardevoire seemed to feed off the crowd's energy too, twirling around in amusement.

Cronus

Cronus sat at his desk in his office, looking rather bored with some paperwork he wasn't reading but looking at. "Why is it that even criminal organizations have more paperwork that they should," he muttered to himself. It was all to keep himself organized, and to make sure authorization was exact and written.

He gave up and reclined slightly, staring at the cieling. "Maybe I should rally the team, light the fire in their motivation. Their work has gotten sloppy lately, a little encouragement couldn't hurt, nor the implied threat they'll understand if they have any brains between them," he muttered again. He stood up and walked over to his balcony. He opened the doors and felt the wind blow against him as he looked down, the ground barely visible for the golden fog surrounding the building now.

He gave a sharp whistle and waited half a minute before he heard wingbeats. He dashed up onto the rail, and in a brief moment that almost lasted forever, jumped off and began to fall. Very quickly he landed with a thud on something warm and firm. A familiar growl greeted him, and he stroked the dragon's head. "You've gotten faster," he said, and the two flew down the building together, descending until they reached a large cavern-like room, where they could fit Salamence in through.

They walked down the halls, and toward the broadcasting room. Once they entered (Salamence only had his head in) Cronus made his announcement. "Salutations, my loyal team. It has come to my attention that our escapades have been drawing more attention than they have. While it is possible that law enforcement is getting smarter, I doubt that's the case. If not so, then it can only mean, that the effort you put into your ventures has dimished. Have you forgotten our goal? If we are to obtain ultimate power and diminion over the world, we need to be efficient, cunning. We can't let everything we worked for fail because someone left a fingerprint on a doorknob! Those who drag us down will be pruned from the Team, so please take care to not be one of them. Have a pleasant day now." Before ending the transmission Salamence let out a ferocious roar that would put a fine point on the importance of the message. "Well puncutuated," Cronus remarked, rubbing the jaw of his partner, appreciative purring following.

Daire Skuld

Daire walked out into the arena, Eevee at his side. There was a cold air about the boy, and a firm expression on his face as he walked towards the battle platform. The boy scanned the crowd, sighing in annoyance as he saw a group of girls holding a poster with his name on it. But Daire ignored the screams of the crowd, putting all of his attention on to the competition instead.

Ashley Bysshe

"Of course, Cronus, Sir." Ashley replied along with the others before standing up as she looked at the others. Most of the group was apathetic, she thought. Well that wouldn't do.

"He's right you know. We've gotten sloppy lately. I mean, we haven't even made front page news in at least three weeks." She reminded the others, not realizing that she was coming across as obnoxious.

William remained silent and he completely disregarded what Ashley had said. It wasn't because he didn't care. In fact he was upset about how everyone was slacking off. It was just he didn't care for the girl. He knew what he had to do and so listening to her rant was pointless. So he kept quiet in hopes that she would stop talking soon.

Crieg rubbed her hands together in anticaption. She looked down as Midnight who stared back up at her.

"You ready girl?"

The Absol nodded and Crieg smiled. She walked into the arena, flashing confident smiles at the camera, but her real focus was on her opponent.

"Ready to be beat by a girl?"

Jacob

"Big words for a little nuisance," Jacob replied, eyes dead set on his opponent's. Though his first instinct was to underestimate her, she couldn't have gotten this far if she was too easy to beat. Her Absol looked strong, and if he didn't fight smart, he'd end up beaten. Jolteon stood at his side, looking confident and bright next to his dark-looking trainer.

Magnus

Magnus stopped his waving when his opponent came to a stop. "Good luck to you in this battle, you'll need it to beat Gardevoire and I," he announced, a deterimined smile on his face. He was now focused, ready for the battle to begin.

"THE SEMI-FINALS ARE ABOUT TO BEGIN! In 3-2-1, BATTLE!" the announcer shouted.

Absol leapt forward and Crieg changed her focus to the battle. She wasn't going to let her temper get the best of her this time. She knew it could cause her to lose.

"We'll see after I win."
