Book 2.5: The Great Fights (Teen) {Open/Spots still open}

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up any painful memories." Haru mentally cursed himself.

"So how many fish do you think we can caught," he asked, changing the subject.

Jet saw the animal as well and drew his sword. Then he leapt from the branch he was on, only focusing on the animal, not seeing that Suki was also attacking it.

"You knew Zuko since you were kids right," On Ji asked Mai, looking at the wall. "What was he like then?"

Suki dived toward the animal, dagger raised to pierce its neck--

--and crashed, hard, into the falling figure of Jet, also heading toward the same target. This caused Suki to miss her prey, and she landed rather roughly on the ground.

Jet blinked and tried to move as he saw that Suki was diving towards the animal as well and once again he was hit. He fell to the ground, slidding a few feet as well.

"Suki I feel as if you're trying to tell me something," he said, sitting up with a moan.

Suki didn't answer, but merely groaned in pain. Oi, this never happened on Kyoshi Island....well, except that one time, but that was irrelevant...

Suki cracked open one eye to see their prey running away. "Oh no you don't! After all this, you're not getting away!"

Despite her injuries, Suki managed catch up with the animal, jumped upon it, and delivered the fatal blow.

Jet stood and walked over to Suki and the animal. He looked at the dead thing and scowled.

"Well at least we finally caught it. Though I'm going to be sore for some time."

"Me too. Well, at least we got something to bring back. I think we should go ahead and go back to the others, before we wind up giving ourselves a concussion." Suki said, trying to ignore the pain of her still sore body. Remind her not to go hunting with Jet again...

"You know if you wanted to touch me there are other ways," Jet teased as he began to dress the animal up. "Like asking. Crashing into people just ends badly."

"Oh just shut up! I don't like you anymore than I like Jin. Besides, I'm Sokka's girlfriend. At least, I think I still am." Suki said, adding that last part as an afterthought. She still didn't know her current situation with Sokka, they hadn't had the time to talk about things yet. Hopefully they would soon.

"I know. I just enjoy pushing your buttons. It's far too easy," Jet said, with a smile. "Ok we better get this back to the others before it goes bad."

"Agreed." Suki said. She helped Jet carry their dinner and went back toward camp where the others were.

((Hm, now what else can we do to embarrass these kids? Hehehe, I love to mess with these characters. It's so fun.))

"Jet and Suki are back," Toph announced. Haru looked over at the pair carrying the animal. He was feeling suddenly hungry.

"Thank the Spirits."

"Missed you're boyfriend Haru?"

"Not as much as you're going to miss your head Toph."

"Wow, threatening a 12 year-old blind girl. You sure have style, Haru," Teo told him sarcastically with a smirk, "You're such a tough earthbender."

Sokka

"Well are we going or not?" Sokka asked Haru expectantly. To be honest the Water Tribe boy didn't want to see Suki just yet. He felt a great deal of shame when he was by her, and he didn't want to confront it just yet.

Katara

Katara giggled lightheartedly as she looked down at the berries she had spilt onto the ground when she had hugged Aang. "Yeah, we should probably hurry up and get to work." She agreed, not sounding too worried.

Mai

"Entertaining, and a bit self-righteous too. Which was completely obnoxious." Mai answered before she rolled over and looked at the Prince's Sister. "But he was happy, proud, idealistic, and he cared about the Fire Nation. Just like a Prince should."

Suki

Suki helped Jet carry back their dinner toward the camp, and gently set it on the ground once they arrived.

((I'd write a bit more, but....I have no clue what else to I should write, truth be told.))

"Oh yeah sure," Haru said, standing. "Toph tell the others where we went."

"Yeah yeah yeah," Toph said, waving at his general direction. She then started talking to Zuko again. "So shall we leave tomorrow? Just so everyone knows where we are going?"

Jet looked at Haru and Sokka, who seemed to be leaving and he wondered what was going on.

"Sokka and Haru are going fishing," Toph clarified. Jet nodded and sat down by the fire.

"I wish I knew him then," On Ji said. "But I'm happy that I was able to grow up away from the palace at the same time. I don't think I could handle it."

"We're back with the nuts and berries," Aang announced happily as they entered the campsite. He looked around, wondering what the others were talking about.

Mai

"Don't worry, no one who grows up in the palace makes it out without a few scars to show for it. You're right that you were lucky for living outside of it." Mai said, actually sounding reassuring with her words and tone.

"I think that would be for the best." Zuko agreed.

Katara

Katara followed Aang quickly, a smile on her face as she scanned the campsite. "Sokka already went to bed?" She asked after noticing that her Brother was missing.

Sokka

Sokka walked with Haru down to the riverbank, arriving there after about seven minutes of walking. "So, how much do you know about fishing. Haru?"

"Thanks Mai. You know you aren't a bad person despite your tendicy to show little emotions," On Ji said.

"He and Haru went fishing," Toph told Katara. "Anyways me and Zuko have an announcement to make. We are-"

"Getting married," Jet asked. The ground below him moved and he fell over.

"No. We are going to the Sun Warrior's temple. I thought it would be good for Zuko to go there to help him with his bending."

"A little," Haru admitted. "I mean I've fished before, but I haven't been able to do it recently. But I think I'll be good," he reassured Sokka.

"That sounds great!" Aang said excitedly, almost dropping his basket of berries before sheepishly setting it down. He grinned at Zuko, "Just one thing: Who are are the Sun Warriors?"

Mai

"Heh." Mai replied, slightly amused at hearing On Ji's words.

Zuko/Katara

"The Sun Warriors were the group of people whom the Fire Nation's culture has descended from. They learned Firebending from the Dragons themselves. Unfortunately they aren't around anymore, but we still might be able to learn something from the ruins that they lived in." Zuko informed Aang "If you want you can come with us, but you should know, it is going to be dangerous."

Sokka

"Well we have a net, a spear, and a rod. Which one do you want?"

((So...what should I have Jin and Suki doing?))

(Whatever you think is best. Maybe have Suki (and Jet) start cooking the boar they caught?)

"I'll take the rod," Haru said. He wasn't that good with a spear and he was fair with a net. But he liked using the rod the most.

"Um...Mai," On Ji started awkwardly. "Are you really ok with going after one of your old friends? I mean I don't know Azula well, but she is my half-sister. I feel kind of wrong knowing that we may have to kill her."

Rao entered a small room. After what happened at Ember Island they retreated back to the Fire Nation palace. But they weren't going to be staying long. It was obvious that the traitors and enemies were all working together and that meant a large group. Either they were going to be staying together or spliting up and either way worked for them.

(Yeah. We might as well try and set up all the connections between the characters now, since they're all going to be splitting up soon. If that makes sense.)

Sokka

"Great, I'm better with a spear and net myself." Sokka replied as he tossed Haru the rod. Afterward, Sokka grabbed net and walked out into the river, quickly setting it all up before coming back to shore to grab the spear. "Just watch Haru, we'll have a few days worth of fish in no time." Sokka stated confidently. "You know, I am the best fisherman from my tribe after all. Took care of all the woman and children by myself after my Dad and the other men from our village left."

Mai

"If you feel guilty about having to hurt Azula, then it's obvious that you haven't met her yet. Trust me, after a few hours with her, you'll end up liking the idea of seeing her locked up or dead." Mai stated, though to be quite honest, she was still nervous about the idea of facing Azula, and especially, Ty lee as well.

(It does.)

Haru casted the rod into the water. He nodded at what Sokka said.

"Must of been hard for you. How old were you at the time?"

"Well if she's as bad as you all say then I'm sure I'll come to hate her as well," On Ji said, though she was unsure. She didn't like the idea of hating Azula, but she knew that it would be better if she did.

Sokka

"Twelve." Sokka answered as he waded in the water, spear in hand. "But you've had to deal with that kind of stuff to, right? I mean you did lose your Dad for a few month after all." Sokka pointed out as he looked down at the water.

"Are you even capable of hating anyone? From what I've seen of you in the past few hours, I'm gonna guess that you aren't." Mai pointed out to On Ji.
