Suki

"Be quiet!" Suki hissed, clamping her hand over Sokka's mouth. She let go after a few moments.

"Uh, Sokka....we really do need to talk..." Suki began, looking away nervously.

Sokka

Sokka slowly nodded as he realized that Haru and Jet were still asleep in the tent. After Suki has talked to him, Sokka nodded. "...You're right. Lets take a walk, this is probably going to be a long conversation." Sokka replied as he stood up.

Suki

"Ok." Suki said. She was a bit surprised that Sokka wasn't trying to prolong the dicussion again, but it was fine with her. She ducked out of the tent and waited for Sokka.

Sokka

A few minutes later, Sokka walked out of the tent. "Well then....what do you want to talk about?" Sokka asked, not wanting to start the conversation himself.

Suki

Suki led the two of them outside of the camp, and into the forest. After Sokka asked his question, Suki remained silent for a few minutes.

"Well...about us, in general, Sokka. A lot has changed since we last saw each other."

Sokka

"...Yeah. It's been four months since we saw each other at the Serpents Pass." Sokka replied as he walked beside Suki. He tried to avoid looking at her, feeling guilty, but it was hard at the same time.

Suki

"Sokka..." Suki began, but stopped herself. After a hesitant pause she continued.

"Sokka, things have changed. Us...I'm not so sure we can go back to being together. It...isnt that simple now." Suki looked away nervously, trying not to look at Sokka either.

Sokka

Sokka rubbed his hands across his face as he realized now was the time to tell Suki the truth. The Water Tribe boy bit his lip as he contemplated the best way of saying it.

"....Suki, you're right. You deserve better then me." Sokka replied as he looked at her.

Suki

"No, Sokka, it's not like that. If anything, you deserve someone better than me." Suki protested, looking back at Sokka. She sighed as she said her next words.

"Sokka, let me be frank. Right now I'm just not...sure of my feelings for you anymore."

Sokka

"I had sex with Mai three days before meeting you in Ba Sing Se!" Sokka finally shouted.

Suki

"Wow, what?!" Suki cried, snapping around toward Sokka. Where the hell had that come from!? What....what....what?! How...when....why...what the hell?! Suki had not been expecting this at all! What was Sokka talking about?

Sokka

"We were drunk!" Sokka shouted in response, knowing it probably wasn't the right way to go. But still, he couldn't help freaking out as well. "We had been traveling together for a few weeks, we were in a bar and the guy offered us free drinks after he found out we were helping the white lotus and...well we...." Sokka said, clapping his hands together to finish his sentence.

Suki

Suki just stared at Sokka speechlessly, unable to come up with a coherent response. Her feelings were mixed right now, and she really wasn't sure what to feel at this moment. Shock? Disgust? Anger? Betrayal? She felt a mixture of those, but the Kyoshi Warrior wasn't sure what her primary feeling should be.

Suki tried to speak again, but still nothing came out.

Sokka

"Look, I said I was sorry, and I am." Sokka replied as he stood still. "But we know that this..." Sokka said as he motioned between himself and Suki. "Isn't going to work. It can't. You deserve better than me, and I'm not in the right spot to even be in a relationship anyways."

Suki

"You're...right." Suki said slowly, still trying to process this all into her mind. "Maybe, after the war is over, if we're both still interested, we could give this another try."

Man, was traveling with Sokka sure gonna be awkward now.

Sokka

Sokka kicked the ground nervously before looking back at Suki, a nervous smile on his face. "Yeah, maybe."

Suki

"Alright. So....is there anything else we need to talk about?" Suki asked somewhat nervously. Well, that could have gone a little bettter, but still, it could have gone worse, too. At least they were on good terms with each other right now.

Sokka

Sokka paused before deciding to lighten up the mood and get some answers at the same time. "Umm, yeah. What happened while I was gone? Because last night Jet and Haru went to bed on opposite sides of the tent, and this morning, they were practically on top of each other. It's kind of disturbing."

Suki

"Well....Toph seems to think Jet and Haru like each other, which they've constantly denied, and Jin and I....you know, I'd rather no talk about that." Suki said with a nervous laugh. Sokka probably knew a little about the odd relationship Jin and her had been in, from that cursed play, but not much more than that, probably.

Sokka

Sokka shook his head as he heard Suki mention Toph. "Yeah, she really likes teasing people. For a while I thought she was the one who wrote that play back at Ba Sing Se."

Suki

"I don't see how she could have had the time. But yeah, I totally see her doing something like that." Suki agreed, giving a light chuckle.

"And those Ember Island Players totally got my and Jin's relationship wrong. Just so you know."

Sokka

"Yeah, well, is there anything they got right?" Sokka pointed out, trying to be understanding. Even if a part of wondered if Suki was being a bit overly defensive about the entire thing.

Suki

"Well...um...we did, ah, kiss when we first met...but I was drunk, and she thought I was a man!" Suki quickly clarfied, blushing quite a lot. "But that's the only thing they got right."

Sokka

"I don't really know this Jin girl, but I doubt she thought you were a man. Trust me Suki, you have very....you are very womanly." Sokka replied. He was amused to find out that Suki had almost hooked up with Jin though, especially when he heard that it was because of alcohol.

Suki

"Yeah, whatever." Suki huffed, turning away in embarrassment. Right now, she really wished she had her makeup on. At least then, it was harder to see her blush. "Thanks for the kinda compliment though, Sokka. At least it won't be awkward traveling with you. And Jin, I hope. We've pretty much worked out our differences."
