Book 2.5: The Great Fights (Teen) {Open/Spots still open}

"Oh don't worry Haru, it was just a joke. Just a harmless joke." Jin said, smiling. She was surprised Haru's mother had taken the joke well. \

((I just realized something...Haru's father should be free...))

(No. The Fire Nation still owns the place, so I wanted all the men to be working.)

Zuko jumped out of the boat as he helped it up to shore in the night. According to Katara they would be about seventeen miles away from the Northern Air Temple.
"So what do we do with the boat?" The Prince asked as he saw the Waterbender jump out behind him.

"Leave it I guess. There's not much use we can get out of it and burning it would not be smart in the end." The Waterbender decided as she threw everyone's packs out, not bothering with the food since most of it was gone now anyways.
"We'll get to the temple sometime late two days from now if we camp out tonight, Teo's father could probably give us some more money and food before we continue to Ba Sing Se." Katara decided as she didn't even pretend that there was a possibility of Aang being there.

On Ji nodded and got out. She put a reassuring hand on Katara's shoulder to say "Don't give up hope".

"And maybe we'll find someone at Ba Sing Se. I mean that is where the other half went. Toph could be there."

((Ah. Well, shall we have a time-skip to the arrival at Ba Sing Se?))

(Yesh we shall.)

Jet squeezed his face in annoyance. He was back in the same place that had tried to kill him. It also had tried to kill everyone in the group, well most of them, but Jet was almost killed by the Earth Kingdom too.

"Thinking back to fond memories," Toph teased. Jet just sighed and followed her as they made their way to where the play was going to be held.

Jin herself kept silent as they made their way to the place where the play was being held. Ba Sing Se held a lot of memories for her. She had grown up here. Seeing it the way it was now, under Fire Nation control...she didn't like it. She hoped that they could see her father while they were here. She wanted to know he was ok.

Mai/Sokka


"I can't believe I'm wearing green for you." Mai said as they walked out of the Inn they had arrived at last night.
"I can't believe I convinced you to come to the play with me." The water tribe boy said with excitement as they walked into a small carriage waiting for them outside the Inn.

The past week had actually been rather nice for the pair. They had been to over six different Old White Lotus bases and spread the word, and each time they left someone's home Sokka tricked the people into giving him and Mai even more money. Mai had actually cut her hair shorter as she realized the small buns in her hair were rather unique. So now she simply wore her hair down straight and long, enjoying the fact that she knew her mother would have a heart attack if she was seen this way.

"So what do you intend to do when we're arrested?" Mai asked after they were alone in the carriage.
"We aren't going to get arrested, can't you just enjoy thr fact that we actually get to do something nice after a hard week of work. Is that really so hard?" Sokka asked as though Mai had offended him.

"Just don't faint, I would rather see you die then faint when this all goes to hell." Was Mai's reply as she looked away from Sokka out of the carriage's window, a smile on her face.

They entered the building and Haru looked around in wonder. He had never been in a city before and it was amazing to him. Jet looked at his companion and frowned. He wished he could be as happy as him right now. But Ba Sing Se was one of the least places where he was going to be happy.

Toph also looked sad, but only because she didn't really care for places like Ba Sing Se. It was just another city to her.

"Just look at the buildings. They must have took forever to build without earthbending," Teo marvelled.
Aang, however, noticed Toph and Jet's grim expressions. He spoke, "You two okay?"

"Sure. I'm just trying to hid my joy of being in the same place that tried to kill me and brainwashed me," Jet said sarcasticly.

"I just don't like being in closed places, but I'll be fine. After the play we can leave this city," Toph told Aang.

"Agreed," Aang told them, "It's not wise to stay here with so many Fire Nation troops occupying the city."

"So this should be.....interesting." Katara said as she walked with On Ji and Zuko into a rather grand looking playhouse.

"Well you heard what the guru said, this play might just tell us where everyone is." Zuko said in a tired tone, as though this was the tenth time they had had this conversation, it happened to be the seventh though.

"I know, it's just....the last time I was here was when we were esc-leaving." The waterbender corrected herself as she saw that there were many Fire Nation people in the playhouse as well.

After they had found out the Northern Air Temple had been destroyed they began traveling for the Eastern Air Temple. But on the way they had met Guru Pathik, who told them they should change course for Ba Sing Se to see a play. Since they had nothing better planned and Katara knew that Aang had called the Guru wise, she listened and they changed course.

"So I guess we wont be getting one of those boxes, will we?" Katara asked as she looked up at a young couple who were sitting together in a spacious box above the rather crowded room where Zuko, Katara, and On ji would have to sit.

(Should they meet now?)

On Ji nodded. It was kind of exciting to be here in the Earth Kingdom capital, well what use to be the Earth Kingdom's capital. She and Zuko had both discarded their Fire Nation clothes for Earth Kingdom ones. Not because they needed to blend in because Ba Sing Se was filled with Fire Nation citizens and soldiers, but so they wouldn't be recognised.

"Well I can't wait to see it."

(How about they meet during the break after the first half of the play is over?)

"It should be ....interesting, to see how the Fire Nation remembers everything." Katara agreed as she phrased what she was saying carefully while they took their seats. They were four rows away from the stage sitting near the edge of the row in case they had to walk out quickly.

Sokka and Mai were currently sitting on one of the balconies together, they had made it in without trouble and it seemed that the playwright they had met wanted them to enjoy the experience.

"These complimentary fire gummies are pretty good, sure you don't want one Mai?" Sokka asked as he ate the food they had been given.

"No thanks, if they taste anything like they look in your mouth then they'll just make me feel nauseous." She replied before looking down at the main crowd and sighing.

"Hey what's the matter?" Sokka asked as he put down the gummies and lightly touched Mai's shoulder.
"We're pretty disgusting aren't we?"
"Hey I was drunk when it happened so don't blame me. Let's just write it all off and pretend it never happened. That was your suggestion and I agree with it." The warrior pointed out as he realized what Mai was talking about.

"Yeah, yeah I know." Mai replied apathetically as she leaned back into her seat, wishing she hadn't come already.

Toph, Jet and Haru slid into a box. They could see the stage very well from up here and they could easily leave without running into people.

"So will someone tell me what's happening," Toph asked.

"I will," Teo volunteered as he and Aang sat on both sides pf Toph.
Aang grinned, "I can't wait to see this."

((Hehehehe. This shall be great.))

Suki took a seat beside Aang. Jin took the seat next to her, and Ty Lin next to her. She wondered how the play was going to be. Knowing the Fire Nation, not everything was going to be correct. Hopefully it would be decent.

Jet and Haru sat down next to Teo. On Ji down below sat down on the end of the row. Toph smiled at Teo, and said "Thanks." All of them were excited to see (or hear in Toph's case) the play. Just then the curtian opened and Katara/Sokka were "sailing".

(The play will be the same up until the end of the second season...of course.)

Well, this was...different. That was all Suki could think of as the opening scene progressed. Ok, Katara wasn't that dramatic....right? And that totally didn't sound like Sokka. Just who wrote this stuff?

Teo snickered, "They got Katara exactly right!"
Aang glared at Teo, "Do not!"
"You're a bit biased, Aang, from being in love with her. How about an unbiased person's opinion. What do you think, Toph?" the boy in the wheelchair asked.

"I never acted like that, did I ever act like that Zuko?! Wait how would you know, you were trying to kill us then." Katara corrected herself as she acted spiteful to Zuko.

"Oh great, here I am." Zuko informed On Ji as he expected a rude parody of him to begin.

Mai smiled as she saw the play begin, of course she knew that it painted Sokka as a gluttonous fool and so she mainly spent the scene watching Sokka's reactions. He was furious and ranting to her in a quiet yet squeaky whisper, not realizing she was close to laughing at his childish display.

"I can't believe he painted me this way! I am not an idiot who only thinks about food, am I Mai? Am I?" The watertribe asked Rhetorically as he continued the emotionally driven rant.

"Well that was boring, what are you, a woman?" Mai asked after Sokka's rant was finished, intentionally annoying so he could continue to rant and keep things entertaining.

"I think it captures the Sugar Queen perfectly." Jet frowned at that. He didn't like Katara like that anymore, but it was kind of mean. When ZUko and Iroh came on screen, he burst into laughes.

"That is Zuko alright." Toph nodded.

On Ji had to stop herself from laughing at the scene. It was pretty funny and On Ji knew that she would probably not end up in the play at all.

"See, Aang?" Teo asked with a victorious grin.
Aang rolled his eyes, "Well of course she'd agree with her boyfriend."
Teo's eyes bugged out and the Avatar gulped. What in the name of the Spirit's name did he have to say that, Aang asked himself. It wasn't a good idea to get Toph mad or embarrassed.

"Aang do you want to keep talking or do you want to spend the rest of the night hanging from the lightpost out side," Toph asked sweetly. "I don't like Teo like that. But even if I did at least he's better than Katara. I don't know how you can stand her sometimes."

"Well before this turns ugly and we begin a fight here, which wouldn't be a good idea," Haru said. 'Let's just keep watching the play."
