"I'm still young and I haven't seen much of anything beyond my home," On Ji admitted. "So I guess I'm never really had to deal with it before. I man I have disliked things and people, but I never really hated anyone."

"Yeah. But I wasn't the only guy left," Haru said. He could see what Sokka was saying and he found that he had some respect for him now.

Sokka

"Still, it couldn't have been easy." Sokka replied before suddenly diving into the water with the spear. A few seconds later, Sokka jumped back up above the water, soaking wet and yet without a fish as well. "Oh come on....."

Mai

"I guess that means you're innocent. I've seen worse traits in people, just don't be obnoxious about it like...." Mai was about to mention Ty lee, but she quickly cut herself off as she decided against it. "Anyways in this group, it's going to be hard for you to preserve it. But you should know, stay away from Sokka. He's a pervert."

Haru remained silent. He felt his fishing rob jerk and he reeled in a nice size fish. He looked at Sokka and shrugged.

"I guess I got lucky?"

On Ji laughed and nodded at Mai's warning.

"I'll remember that."

Sokka

Sokka simply grunted in response, feeling embarrassed and very foolish.

Mai

"Good. Well then, I bet you that the others are back with some food. If we move quickly we can take some without having to talk to any of them." Mai said as she sat up, a smirk on her face.

Suki

"So, Jet, want to cook that boar we caught?" Suki asked.

Azula

The new Fire Lord sat on her throne, Ty Lee at her side. A messenger knelt before the Fire Lord, waiting for his lord to speak. Reviewing the man's message once more, Azula choose to respond.

"I see. Very well, tell the guards to be careful with the prisoner. It is good fortunate that we have caught him. What of the Avatar and his companions?"

"Our scouts have yet to find them, Fire Lord Azula. However, we have the bounty hunter and an agent looking for them as I speak. They will be found." the messenger reported. Azula nodded and dismissed him.

A minor setback, Azula thought, but it was nothing much. The Avatar, her brother, and all who followed them would fall at her feet soon enough. They would never be able to stop the power that was Azula, and the Fire Nation.

"Sure," Jet said. He moved to skin the boar first.

"Sounds like a plan," On Ji said. She was feeling glad that she and Mai were getting along.

Mai

"Ok then. But we're going to have to be careful, we wouldn't want the Avatar to see us. He would surely drag us into whatever conversation that they're having out there." Mai warned as she peaked out of the tent, noting where everyone was placed outside.

"Hey, I've faced danger before! Exploring some old ruins doesn't sound too bad. Who knows, maybe we'd fine a dragon or even a dragon egg!" Aang told Zuko excitedly, as though this was one hug adventure for him. It was how he dealt with the War.

(Has Aang ever been on a hug adventure before? I'm sure he has, but now, I'm curious to see how it went. )

Zuko

"Well ok then, I suppose you wont mind if we take your sky bison with us then?" Zuko asked.

Sokka

It had been almost half an hour since Haru had caught his first fish, and Sokka had still caught nothing. The water tribe boy was beginning to feel extremely embarrassed, but most of all, frustrated. "So Haru, how many have you caught by now?"

Suki

Suki let Jet skin the boar first. She didn't really mind.

(OMGasp the PDT. XD Does anyone else know what that is?)

"I can't wait then," Toph said. She wanted to go with Zuko alone but she felt hat Aang had a right to come. He had to learn firebending after all.

Jet finished and turned to Suki. "You want to do the next part?"

"Um...just a couple more. I'm sure you'll get something though," Haru said, not wanting Sokka to feel bad.

On Ji followed Mai's lead. She could see why her half-brother had liked her. Despite her apathy she wasn't that bad a person to be around.

(On Jai friendship ftw!)

Sokka

Sokka turned around and looked at the pile of fish Haru had next to him. It was obvious that the Earthbender had been downplaying his accomplishments when it came to fishing. There was easily enough for everyone at camp at this point. "No, we might as well go back now, it's getting dark anyways." Sokka answered slightly moody now.

Mai/Katara

Mai quietly moved around the tents, making sure to stay out of sight of the others as she used her training. Mai stopped as she noticed a small pile of fruit collected in a basket. Unfortunately for Mai, the Water tribe girl was sitting just a few yards away from it. "Ok. You don't mind berries, right?" Mai whispered to On Ji as she turned around to look at the girl.

(Yes, it's surprisingly fun.)

"You can carry half," Haru suggested. "That way no one will know who caught more." But he agreed that they should head back.

She shook her head, biting her lip to make sure she made no noise that might draw attention to them.

"I'm good with them."

Sokka

"No. They're you're fish, you can carry them." Sokka answered as he began to take apart the net.

Mai/Katara

"Good." Mai answered before pulling a knife out out of her robe and glancing around the tent again. Mai quickly through the knife through the air, aiming it at a tree behind Katara and causing a few pinecones to fall.

"Hmm...that was weird." Katara commented as she looked up and watched a few birds fly away from the tree.

"Yeah, maybe you should check it out." Mai said as she came out from behind the tent.

"Oh, Mai!" Katara exclaimed, slightly startled by the girl's presence. "Umm, I guess you're right. I'll be back in just a second, maybe we could try talking...about Sokka or something." Katara commented as she tried to be nice.

"Yeah right, I don't think so." Mai replied with a sense of smugness, earning her a glare from the Waterbender. After Katara had walked away into the forest, Mai quickly grabbed the basket of berries and walked away back behind the Tents towards On Ji. "Well that was easier then I thought. Kind of disappointing, actually."

"Of course!" Aang exclaimed, excited about the prospect of learning firebending, but not too excited. He had since come to terms with his first experience at firebending with Jeong-Jeong, thanks to this time away from the others to think and his experiences with Guru Pathik.

"Um, if that's okay with the others," he said uncertainly, looking around, searching for Katara in particular.

On Ji followed Mai giggling. "Yeah, but it was kind of funny how easily Katara believed you."

"O...k," Haru said unsure. He decided to move off the subject. "So how have things been Sokka? I haven't seen you in some time. Things have gotten pretty weird as of late."

Sokka

After Sokka had finished collecting all of the fishing supplies, he turned to Haru and replied, "It's been tough, and weird. After the day of the black sun Iroh, Zuko's Uncle, rescued me and took me to some weird island. Then he gave me and Mai a mission to work for the White Lotus, which we did. She's kind of mean though...and violent. But otherwise...you know, just finishing the mission."

Mai

"She's an Idealist. She probably thought that if she was nice to me we would become friends and I would tell her what her Brother was like when she wasn't around." Mai guessed as she walked with On Ji back into their tent. "Of course, I doubt she's going to trust me now."

Katara

Katara walked around the edge of the camp, taking almost five minutes before she came back. "Great." Katara whispered after sighing loudly as she realized Mai had left, taking the berries she and Aang had collected with her.

"Well at least you didn't get stuck with Jet, Toph and Jin," Haru said recalling some of the events. "But it sounds kind of tough. I guess it will continue to be that way until the war is over," he mused as he walked towards camp.

On Ji nodded. She kind of liked Katara, but at the same time she felt like she babied her.

"I can see why you would want to avoid that. Sounds like it might be an annoying subject to discuss with her."

Mai

"Sokka? Oh yeah, after spending a few weeks with that moron, the last thing I want to be doing is talking about him." Mai replied as she sat down in the tent, laying the basket of berries in front of On Ji.

Sokka

".....That's not very reassuring considering we're going to be traveling with them starting tomorrow." Sokka pointed out after thinking over what Haru had just said.

"Oh well...um..." Haru tried to find a way to reassure Sokka that everyone was going to be fine, but he wasn't sure himself. "Don't worry. Just don't talk too much. Or say anything that they can use against you."

"I don't know him that well but I trust your opinion," On Ji said sincerely. She took a few berries.

Mai

"...Yeah." Mai said after sighing loudly. Oddly enough, even though she was trying to stay away from Sokka, she somehow kept getting back to talking about him. "That has to be obnoxious." She mused to herself before grabbing a handful of berries and tossing them into her mouth.

"Anyways, On Ji, how was your trip?" Mai asked, deciding that she might as well change the subject. Besides, learning about what Zuko had been up to had been on her mind a bit....

Sokka

"Great." Sokka said sarcastically, sounding a bit like Mai for a second.

(Sokka run while you can! Soon you'll be pulled into the shipping madness that happened last time!)

"It was interesting. When I met Zuko I was kind of surprised. I never knew my mother use to be Fire Lady," On Ji said after swallowing. "We went to the Northern Water Tribe to meet some members of the White Locus Society and we ran into Katara since she was left behind. Up until we three decided to leave I stayed mostly with Zuko and our mother."

Haru entered the camp and smiled at Sokka.

"I'm sure it won't be as bad as last time." He glanced at Jin, Suki and Jet and frowned. "Or hopefully not."

(I feel so sorry for the poor, naive, guy.)

Mai

"Huh....why didn't your Mom come with you?" Mai asked as she laid back down on the palet she had laid out a few hours back.

Sokka

"Yeah? It's probably going to be even worse now....." Sokka commented as he looked at Suki, realizing that he was going to be traveling with both her and Mai at the same time. He was screwed.

(I don't. I like torturing the characters. )

"We thought it would be easier to go by ourselves," On Ji admitted. "I would have wanted her to come, but Zuko and Katara said it would be easier by ourselves. She didn't seem to mind too much."

Jet looked over at Sokka and Haru, grinning.

"We are going to eat well tonight."

"Well this will probably be one of the better meals we'll have for awhile," Haru stated.

Sokka

"You..caught a boar!?" Sokka asked, his voice squeeing in delight as he saw the juice beast being cooked over the fire.

"Really?" Mai asked, chuckling to herself. "That's kind of funny."
