Succession: Rebellion

Brighe/Kegan

"I'm sorry but we don't-" Kegan protested before being cut off.

"It's Centaurian. The name, I mean. Which means it's at least two thousand Kilometers north." Brighe answered. "No we are glad to have been os some help to you, Qunari, but we must go now." Brighe stressed as she glared at her Nephew.

Katie

"I can take it." Katie replied as she smiled at Nell.

Syrien

"Hurry, get in the carriage." Syrien urged as the city guards came closer. They were moving their were through the crowd now, and it was only a matter of a few seconds before they arrived.

"Get in, now!"

C.C.

"Oh? Good. Then you'll be getting a whole lot of it." C.C. replied, smiling.

Brighe/Kegan

Brighe jumped into the front of the carriage and grabbed the reins of the horse. Kegan quickly followed her lead by jumping into the back of the carriage, though he kept his eyes on the Qunari. "Either run or get in the carriage." The Half-Elf shouted as it began to move.

Katie

"I'm sure I will."

Sten frowned, not much like being given order by a an elf, but complying as he ran inside the carriage before taking a seat, but frowning at how cramped the carriage felt. He looked over at Kegan.

Nix
"She isn't my girlfriend... She's just a partner." Nix managed to say after a moment of shock. Gaita looked up from the trail only long enough to speak to Nebi. "I choose not speak. And what right do you have to ask, ex-dog of the Empire?" Gaita said as she stomped off further down the trail. "I'm sorry about that..." Nix said with a sigh. "She goes off like that from time to time. Just stay out of her way for a little while." He advised.

C.C., Maul

"We're moving out now!" C.C. shouted out toward the groups now that everyone was there. The two search parties began to converge over to Maul or C.C., whoever they were going with. The various soldiers and other specialists got onto their assigned horses. Once everyone under C.C.'s command was up and ready, she climbed onto her nearby horse.

"Katie, you can ride with me. Your friend will have to ride with Senka." C.C. said, slightly smirking at that thought. She knew Tsuba's pup wouldn't entirely like that.

Once everyone in Maul's group was ready, Maul set out from the castle, heading toward the nearest gates. His men quickly followed him out.

Syrien

Rein squeezed herself further to the side of the carriage to accomidate the large man getting inside. She held Atiya closely, giving the Qunari a nervous glance.

"Who's that, Kegan?" Rein whispered to him.

Syrien helped drive the carriage with Brighe, quickly going away from the city guards. A few chased after them, but soon gave up. It didn't take long to reach the open city gates, and they soon left Flan behind them.

Kegan

"Oh, he's the new nanny for Atiya. I'm sure she'll love him." Kegan stated with a smirk as he looked at the Qunari. The Carriage rocked back and forth in the back, and the ride was generally uncomfortable as they made their way out of Flan. But still, it was better then walking.

Brighe

After they had gotten away from the city far enough where Brighe was sure there was no chance of the Guards coming after them, Brighe slowed the horses down a bit so they wouldn't get overworked. "Well, that was certainly more adventurous then I would've preferred." She commented to Syrien, knowing that those in the back wouldn't be able to hear her.

Katie

"Sorry Nell." Katie mouthed to the Inu as she followed C.C.

Nebi nodded as he watched the girl leave before shrugging. He turned to Nix and commented, "A bit temperamental, isn't she?"

He frowned, however, as he realized something. He spoke, "We need to get moving again soon, though. The Empire is still after me."

"Nani?" the stoic Qunari asked, unfamiliar with the word.

Rein

Rein gave a cross look at Kegan, definitely not liking that joke. Great, what were they going to do with this guy? Like they had enough time getting around before. With him around, they'd stick out like a sore thumb.

"Very funny." she muttered.

Syrien

"Indeed. Well, what shall we do with our new guest?" Syrien asked as they slowed their pace.

Kegan

"Hey, I'm sure he'd love helping us take care of Atiya. Right honey? You like the Qunari?" Kegan asked(also explaining it to Sten at the same time) as he smiled at his Daughter.

Brighe

Brighe sighed as she looked at Syrien. "I have no idea. I think if we can we should drop him off in Lyanor and give him instructions to the plains of the Centaur clans. Hopefully we haven't done anything to earn his devotion..." Brighe stated, not knowing much about the race and culture of the Qunari.

Rein, Atiya

"I like him! He's funny looking!" Atiya declared cheerily.

Syrien

"That sounds good to me. It would be best to get rid of him as soon as possible, since he is rather noticeable. How long do you think it will take to reach Lyanor?" Syrien inquired.

"It's because your an Empirical noble. A former one to be sure, but still a noble." Nix said. "If your an enemy to the Empire, then your a friend." He said turning on the boy "However, until you prove yourself to be trustworthy, I'd recommend agitating Gaita as little as possible. You'll live longer...." He picked up his pace to catch up with Gaita. Nix had received similar treatment from Gaita when they first teamed up. Running off, defiance, ignoring his voice of reason where all things that he put up with during Gaita's (to put it politely) temper-tantrums.

Nell just shook his head at Katie.

"It's ok," he told her walking over to Senka. He didn't know the woman that well, so he was sure this ride would be awkward.

Sunny was on her horse, following Maul. She glanced back at the castle briefly wondering if she should of stayed, then focused on her mission.

Eiden looked at the groups leaving the castle with a studious stare. Silence stood next to him impatient.

"Who to follow? Who to follow," Eiden mused outloud. He turned to his partner who shrugged. He frowned. "You could be more help."

"I would be too, if you didn't need it so much."

"Ha ha. We'll follow them," he said, pointing at Maul's group.

"Whoever said I was a noble?" Nebi told them with a shrug, smiling a little, "You two just assumed. All I can say is that I got involved in politics and lost."

Sten scowled, looking down at the little girl wit ha stern expression before nodding at the elf. It should be easy enough.

Brighe

"Three hours, at least." Brighe replied. She could see part of the city from afar, but that had more to do with how flat the land they were on now was then how close they were.

"Oh... I didn't mean it. You don't have to handle her." Kegan informed the Qunari. Though he was very amused by Atiya.

Senka

Senkla glared at a young Inu boy as he walked into the weapons carriage with her. "May I help you, Dog?"

Rein

Rein gave Atiya a cross look for her unintentional insult, but the Qunari didn't seem to mind much, thankfully. She gave Kegan another glare and punched him in the shoulder for his earlier joke.

"Good idea, asking him to be Atiya's nanny. Who do you want Atiya's tutor to be? Baruti?"

Syrien

"I see. Where shall we go from there, do you think?" Syrien asked.

"Dog?" Nell let the insult slid. He had been called worst before.

"I am coming with you guys to help track the escaped Heirs.," he explained. 'C.C. told me I was to ride with you."

Senka

Senka nodded in reply before pulling up her legs so the boy could jump in. Though she didn't say anything in reply.

"North by North-East for now." Brighe replied as she looked at Syrien. "We're going to want to cover as much of the Empire as possible if we want to find the Rebels. And by taking this path, we'll cover quite a few of the major cities."

Kegan

"No, he's far too impatient. I was thinking he could be her music teacher and close confidant instead." Kegan replied sarcasticly in return.

C.C.

Once everyone in her group was ready, C.C. cast them off, and together they rode out of the capital not too long after Maul's unit did.

Rein

"Who's Bar-u-ti?" Atiya interjected, pronouncing the word carefully. Rein grinned at her daughter and leaned in conspiratorially.

"Baruti's a big, nasty ogre who eats up little bad children! You haven't been bad lately, have you, Atiya?" Rein teased. Atiya shook her head fervidly.

"Good. Then you have nothing to worry about. Right Kegan?"

Syrien

"That is an acceptable plan. A shame we can't do our travels faster with magic." Syrien mused. "But no doubt Tsuba will be having her cronies looking for any traces of magic that I use from this point on."

Brighe

"That...and the fact that we very well might miss the Rebel base if we cut corners like that." Brighe added as she looked back out at the trail.

"We could be traveling for years before we find them though....."

Kegan

"Of course not. My little girl would never do anything bad enough to deserve having to meet that bastard." Kegan said as he picked up Atiya, tickling the toddler a bit as he held her.

Carlisle

Carlisle stood at the top of the wall above the city, looking down as he waited for Mab. It was almost noon, he noted. Still, for all the climbing that they were doing, the Doctor supposed that it was a good enough pace. And they hadn't been noticed yet...

Syrien

"I don't think it will take years. After all, I'm sure the rebels would be looking for us just as much as Tsuba is." Syrien said.

Rein, Atiya

"Kegan!" Rein hissed with a scowl. "There are words we don't use around Atiya!"

Atiya, meanwhile, giggled as her father held her and tickled her. She squirmed in his grasp as she laughed more. "Stop that, Daddy!"

Brighe

"If luck is on our side, yes." Brighe agreed, though she still sounded doubtful.

A strong breeze went by, causing Brighe's hair to blow about as she looked at the road ahead. "Syrien... what was the loophole you found?" Brighe finally asked as she looked back at the other Elf.

Kegan

Kegan pursed his lips together as he quickly put Atiya down. "Sorry..."

Rein

"It's fine. We just need to get used to making our language...cleaner around Atiya. It really wouldn't be good to slip up, and end up having her ask what a certain bad word means." Rein quicly assured. Atiya pouted a little as Kegan put her down. She took his apology as being directed at her as she said,

"I was kidding, Daddy..."

Syrien

"It was a legal loophole that I discovered, though I am not sure if this loophole exists in other slave contracts, especially ones that are bound by Blood." Syrien explained, revealing little. He didn't seem to notice that he hadn't fully explained it.

Brighe

"Hmm. Well I suppose it can't be helped. Though it would have been useful if it had been a general problem we could exploit." Brighe replied.

Her expression was solemn, almost sad but not quite, as she handed the reins over to Syrien. "I think I'm going to run a bit, if you don't mind."

Kegan

Kegan nodded in understanding before looking down at Atiya, a soft smile on his face. "Sorry honey, your Daddy isn't so bright sometimes." He replied.

Syrien

"Indeed. Of course, I do not mind. Though, are you well Brighe?" Syrein asked with a touch of concern as he took the reins from her.

Rein, Atiya

"Yep! Daddy's stupid!" Atiya shouted cheerily, giggling softly. Rein chuckled alongside her.

"You've get that right, Atiya. Daddy really can be an idiot sometimes." she teased, giving her fiance a playful smirk.

"Idiot, idiot! Daddy's an idiot!" Atiya chanted with delight. Rein laughed some more at her chant.

"Looks like I've taught her well. I've already turned her against you." Rein joked, smiling at Kegan. This all almost made her forget about the other occupant of the carriage. Rein glanced back at him with a little concern, but brushed the large man out of her mind.
