Peace or Not (Avatar Roleplay)

(It so is. Hey almostinsane have you been clicking on my eggs? I don't want them to die.)

Jet went wide eyed when Suki dipped him. What exactly was she doing? He was tempted to walk off, but he didn't want to give her the satisfaction that he couldn't handle dancing. After all he was the one who asked.

"So Suki now that you're single are you looking for another...girlfriend. Well not another, but you know what I mean."

Haru walked over to Shizuka, who glared at him.

"Got a problem?"

"No but you look like you have one," he said, wondering what was wrong. "You're Shizuka right? Zuko's friend."

"Yeah that's me. Zuko's childhood friend. Not that he cares."

Haru nodded. So this was what it was about. Shizuka was upset because she liked Zuko still and he was married now.

(LOL. No. Of course not.)

"No. I'm not looking for anyone," Suki told him, shaking her head, "I can't date another girl, can I? It's unthinkable."

(I see how it is.)

"Why not? Is there some sort of rule saying you can't," Jet asked. "And even if there was, rules are meant to be broken."

(How what is?)

"What will the others think?" Suki asked worriedly, "My friends will never treat me the same way again!"

(You're going to let my eggs die. They need to be born before five days are up. And a click is all I need. Or were you being sarcastic before?)

"I would," Jet said softly. He looked at his feet. "I mean I don't care if you liked girls or guys or...or your pet! It's your choice."

"Hey you don't need to attack me," Haru said. Shizuka looked like she was about to cry again and Haru soften. "I mean I don't know how it feels, but you don't need to take it out on me."

"You have no idea what is going on," Shizuka snapped.

"You like Zuko. And now he's married."

Shizuka just stared at Haru.

(Oh. I thought you said they'd die if they were clicked.)

Suki looked at Jet in surprise before smiling, "Thanks Jet. That is very sweet of you."

(No. They will if they aren't clicked. Sorry for the confusion. -_-

"Ah it's no problem," he said giving her a charming smile. "Besides-" Jet stopped before he could start the sentence and cleared his throat. "You are a very good dancer."

(Oh, sorry.)
"Oh," Suki said, blushing a bit, "Thanks. You're not so bad yourself."

(No it's my fault. I confused you almost. No need to apologies.)

"I know. I guess it's just natural for me," Jet said. He looked back over at their seat and frowned when he didn't see Haru there.

'Where did he go?'

Haru wasn't sure what to say. Shizuka didn't seem like she was going to open up about her problem and Haru wasn't sure if he kept asking if she would attack him.

"Well I hope you feel better," he said walking off.

"Wait! Listen to me. I don't like Zuko," Shizuka said, standing. 'I...I just get emotional at these things."

"So it was happy crying," Haru asked, not believing her.

"Yeah," she said unsure.

"I guess it is," Suki told him with a shrug, "I told you that it would be easy."

She frowned, noticing his expression, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he said looking back at Suki. "What could possibly be wrong?"

"So who are you," Shizuka asked, feeling somewhat better. At least she wasn't going to break down again in front of some stranger.

"Haru. I'm an old friend of the Avatar and somewhat of Zuko. I'm now a general in the Earth Kingdom."

Shizuka nodded. He didn't look like a general, but she didn't doubt it.

"It sounds like everyone's started dancing," said Toph. She nudged Sokka. "Are you sober enough to still be willing to stick to your earlier offer?"

"Of course," Sokka told her with a grin, obviously in a good mood, "I don't get drunk that easily and I never refuse a dance from a pretty girl."

He blushed a little. Damn that alcohol. He wasn't sure how Toph would react to flirting. Still, he'd gotten her mad before and earthbending didn't hurt that bad if you could dodge.

"Spirits, you are drunk." Toph grinned. "Well, you're the one who'll make a fool outta yourself. C'mon, Snoozles." She stood from the table and waited on him.

"Hey, I don't need to be drunk to think you're pretty," Sokka told her indignantly as he stood up and took her hand, doing the leading this time as he headed for the dance floor, "I clearly remember thinking you were pretty before I took a drink."

"You sure about that?" teased Toph. She really could not help herself. It was all in good fun, and Sokka made such an easy target. "How do I know you weren't sneaking into the kitchens before all this happened?"

"Because I was acting like my normal, no-nonsense self," Sokka told her with a grin, knowing she was teasing him now. Still, he didn't like it when she put herself down. She was his friend and, in light of her confession, maybe even more, "Besides, you'd know if I was drunk."

"Eh, that's true. You'd probably think I was on fire or something." She chuckled. "I know I'm hot stuff, of course." She groaned. "Now I know I've been spending way too much time with you. I telling corny jokes."

Sokka laughed a little at the joke, even more so now that he recognized it was his sense of humor. He shook his head, "What's wrong with my jokes? They're funny! And they're not corny!"

He grinned as another song began to play just as they reached the dance floor. A bit uncertainly, he led her into one, a Fire Nation dance he had been seeing people do.

She blushed a little as he led her in the dance. It was not one she was very familiar with, either. Toph, for once, decided to depend on Sokka to lead. He was a klutz, but she had noticed more than once that he was not half bad a dancer.

Sokka grinned, feeling a little more comfortable as he eased into the dance. It was like swordsmanship, at least, like its footwork. He blushed slightly when he saw someone dip their partner and, a little nervously, led Toph into a dip, still a bit unsure of himself.

As close as they were, Toph was able to follow Sokka's movements fairly well. As long as he led, she could follow. So she was not much surprised when he dipped her, but it still meant she was somewhat taken aback by his willingness to do so. And with her!

Sokka grinned, growing even more confident as they continued. Toph seemed to enjoy dancing with him and, to be honest, he did too. He continued, settling into a comfortable pace as he did so.

The longer they danced, the more comfortable she became. Toph began to enjoy herself, and that was saying something as she usually hated dancing. She had a feeling it had a lot to do with dancing with Sokka.

"You're not so bad, Snoozles," she said, smiling.

"You're pretty good too," Sokka told her with a a grin, tightening his grip around her waist. He was honestly enjoying himself for the first time since Suki started becoming distant. He smirked at her, "How come you never danced at Aang's dance party when he was impersonating a student?"
