Peace or Not (Avatar Roleplay)

"Forgive me if I prefer the kiss," Sokka told her, making a show out of rubbing his arm, "Why do I go for the tough girl?"

"Heck if I know." She blushed. "I'm glad you do, though. It's nice to know you like me for me." She kissed his cheek. "C'mon. Let's go have some more fun, before something crazy happens."

"Yeah, I'm glad too," Sokka told her with a grin before nodding in agreement, "You're right. Knowing us, we'd have to face some world-threatening event soon."

He got up and offered her his hand.

Toph took his hand, after taking a moment to find him, and stood beside him. "Before we go, we should probably get dressed again," she said. She laughed. "Unless you like us going around in our skivvies."

"Well, I do like the view," Sokka teased her with a grin, "But I suppose it wouldn't do to leave our clothes lying around."

With that said, he began to dress himself, now only a little damp. Finally, he tied his wolf-tail back and strapped on his sword. It wasn't as good as his space sword, but it was serviceable. He still intended to look for his original soon.

Toph got dressed quickly, and pulled back her hair into the pony-tail she had been wearing before. She suddenly grinned, deciding if he was going to tease her, she could tease him.

"You know, I never really "see" your clothes through vibrations..." she said, leaving him to think about the rest.

Oh... Oh!" Sokka exclaimed, slowly getting the implication from what she said. Instinctively, he covered up his groin before relaxing again, slightly.

"That... must be useful," Sokka told her, flustered.

She laughed, and so hard that tears came to her eyes. She wiped them away and shook her head. "Sometimes." She laughed again. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I'm just messing with you. It's only when you're barely wearing anything that I can do that."

"Oh, that's a relief," Sokka told her with grin before blushing a little. He wondered if him being in his underwear just now counted. He was almost afraid to ask.

"I see you haven't gotten tired of messing with me," Sokka told her with a laugh.

"I don't think I ever will," she said. "Just 'cause we're together now doesn't mean I'm gonna change." To make up somewhat for ribbing him so badly, she hugged him.

Sokka grinned and hugged her back. He sighed, "Well, I suppose I would miss it if you ever stopped ribbing me. I'll just have to mess with you back."

"You already do that," she said. "That's part of our relationship. We poke fun at each other, and banter. It's why we are more interesting than anybody else."

"Yeah," Sokka greed with a smirk, "Other people are incredibly boring."

"There you go," she said, nodding. She gave him a friendly punch in the arm and grinned. "So, what do you wanna go do?"

"I have no idea. Why am I the only one that has to have the ideas?" Sokka asked with a laugh, "Can't I ever get a break?"

"Hey, you're the idea guy. It's your job to come up with all the ideas!" she said, with mock severity. Toph turned towards the town. "Well, we could just wander around. If we see anything we like, we can do that."

"I deserve a vacation now and then. Sometimes, it's nice to not think," Sokka told her with a grin, "And that sounds good to me."

He gripped her hand and pulled her towards town.

Toph had to speed up to keep up with him; his legs were still a bit longer than hers were. But they were soon walking companionably side by side, hand in hand.

(Agni I hope I don't get left behind...)

"Sir," a guard said, making Zuko jump a little. He pulled away from Mai and looked at the guard. He looked a little nervous as if Zuko was going to attack him for interrupting him and his wife, but he was able to talk. "The hawk we sent to the Earth Kingdom is back."

"Already? But that's impossible."

"Well it seems that it didn't make it to the Earth Kingdom."

Zuko just stared at the guard. He shifted under his glaze. "Someone in the Fire Nation intercepted it and returned it with a note."

(Don't worry. It was just some Tokka fluff.)

Mai grimaced. There were times that she had a bad feeling in her stomach and that meant something bad was going to happen. In her most emotionless and formal tone, her "Fire Lady" voice, as Zuko dubbed it, she spoke.

"What does it say?"

Sokka grinned at Toph, his hand tightly wrapped around hers. He could hear music playing not too far off.

"We could dance if you'd like," he told her.

(No I mean because of my internet being down and me only able to get on during school. Though most of what I do miss is Tokka related, so I'm good I hope. And I hope you don't mind my plot twist. It just came to me randomly.)

Zuko cleared his throat and read it out loud,

"Fire Lord Zuko,

You have sent a letter to find out if your sister has escaped from the mental hospital she was in. I do not know if she got out or not, but I have seen a girl fitting her description a couple weeks ago.

As a citizen of the Fire Nation I want what's best for our country. And Azula is not for the best. I sent this to you because I want to say that if the war starts again, everyone in my village would rather die than participate. I know it's not much, but I felt like you needed to know that not everyone wants the war to start again.

I'm sorry for taking up your time and the letter you wrote is still here. Let us all pray to Agni and the Spirits that she is not free."

Zuko took a deep breath and put it down. "It's not signed. Probably didn't want anyone to know who he was incase it fell into the wrong hands."

He looked at the guard. "Resend the hawk. We have to know."

IC: Toph

She smiled. "Want to make up for last night, huh? Our dance was cut short." Nodding, she added, "Sure I'll dance with you, if you're asking me to."

(LOL. It's fine. It's not like I'm going to get mad at you for having a life. )

"No, I was asking you to go ice-dodging with me," Sokka told her sarcastically as they approached the town square where people were dancing rather more freely than the nobles did the previous night. There wasn't any ordered waltzes and it looked like some people were, Sokka had to make up the term on the spot, grinding. He blushed a little at that.

"The music's certainly livelier," the Water Tribesman commented.

"That's the way it is. All you common folks have a lot more fun than stuffy nobles," said Toph. She shrugged. "It's about the same in the Earth Kingdom. My parents have been dragging me to a few balls this year. All pretty boring, too."

"Spirits, were they trying to marry you off again?" Sokka asked with a mixture of horror and anger as well as another emotion he immediately recognized as jealousy. He blushed a little in realization.
