Into the Netherworld (Real Terror Universe)

The pair waved goodbye to their friends and headed off to their own homes. Hanyer looked at the tired Charlie and smiled. She was so adorable sometimes. Though fierce as well.

"You going to make it," he asked after she yawned for the tenth time. She nodded wearily. Hanyer just shook his head.

"Don't worry Hanyer. You'll get wrinkles," she told him sleepily. Than she walked inside her house. Hanyer still had a little to go to his.

Finally alone now, he thought about his friends. 'I just hope I don't disappoint them. They're so much more powerful than me.'

"I was the same way," he told her with a smile, "I guess we were just being silly back then, weren't we?"

Lily's mother had heard her sneak in, she didn't do anything about it, she knew Lily would never run away. She also fondly remember when she started sneaking out and what her mother had said when Lily was little,
"Women in our family have always been flighty as teenagers, you were, and she will too." She had said fondly, Lily's mother never quite understood that, her grandmother was always saying something about Lily having the 'family talent' or something.

Taryn nodded, smiling back at Thomas, "Yep." She realized that they were already on the walkway up to her porch. She reached into her pocket, digging out her key. The front lights turned on. They weren't automatic. Gah. She's waiting for me. Her grandmother waited in the foyer, sitting in the chair, staring intently at the door. Ready to pounce.

Charlie was in the front hallway. She looked around to make sure that no one was awake. But of course her mother was.

"H-hi mom."

"Charlie why are you late? It's almost morning time."

'I'm the only normal one. I can't do anything to help the others if they get hurt. Why are they even my friends?'

Hanyer continued his depressing thoughts as he slid inside. No one was around and so he headed into his room and went to sleep.

((After everyone is asleep, I assume a time skip to morning is nessecary?))

"Don't worry. At least I'm not going to run away," Thomas told her, sounding a lot braver than he thought. He gulped, "Here we go...."

(Yep.)

Taryn reached for the doorknob, but it turned before her hand got to it. The door flew open, "TARYN ROSARIO WINTER, WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?" Taryn's hair blew back a little from the blast, "I'm sorry, grandma, I'm sorry! I went to Lily's and I fell asleep."

Her grandmother looked at her, not believing her for a second. "Then what's he doing here with you?"

"Walking me home, Grandma. It's late and he wanted to make sure I got here okay. Nothing more, nothing less."

The elderly woman shifted her venomous gaze to Thomas, "Well, thank you, Thomas. Very chivalrous of you. You had best be on your way home. I'm sure your father is wondering where you are." She waved him off with her hand.

Taryn hugged him, whispering, "Good bye. I'll see you tomorrow." Her grandmother coughed and Taryn went into the house, waving once before her grandmother shut the door.

"I was at Taryn. I kind of feel asleep. I would have stayed there, but I'd thought it would be best to come home," Charlie said. Than faking sadness. "I'm sorry mom. I didn't mean to worry you."

It worked. Her mother just sighed and gave her a hug. "Just call next time ok?"

"Of course mom."

With that said, Charlie hurried off to her room and feel asleep.

"Well, she was friendlier than usual. That's a good sign. Or was that sarcasm?" Thomas asked himself aloud as he left Taryn's house with frown. He certainly hoped that Taryn wasn't in trouble with her grandmother.

As soon as he reached his house, Thomas was relieved to see that his dad was asleep standing up, right in front of his newest masterpiece. He gazed at it and raised an eyebrow. It was the river Styx and he caught its details and Charon perfectly. He shook his head. His dad always had a gift for the supernatural, nothing like his own talents, but it was still amazing.

He gently brought his dad's form onto an armchair and wrapped a blanket around him before heading for his room, glad that he wasn't in trouble.

Taryn was about to head upstairs to bed, when her grandmother grabbed her wrist to stop her. She inhaled deeply, "You smell like the River Styx. Taryn, what were you doing?"

"Poking around where I should not have been. I was curious You don't have to punish me, that's already been taken care of. I start work tomorrow."

"Don't tell me you're... Ay, Dios Santo," her grandmother said. Taryn nodded. Her grandmother relented and patted Taryn's head. "Well, I can't say that I never went on a few adventures when I was young. Go up to bed. You look tired."

Taryn nodded, " 'Night, Grandma." She went upstairs, falling asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Gram, I don't know, what are you talking about?
Lily woke up, she was heaving and confused
"Damn you and your riddles, Gram." She said, she got up and put on a tight-fit Beatles shirt, a grey cardigan with a fur hood that only had to loose buttons in the middle, so you could see her shirt, and a pair of dark skinny jeans, and some knockoff ugg boots, because she couldn't afford real ones. She wen't downstairs and kissed her parents and apologized, and told them her plans for the day.

Thomas yawned as he finished his breakfast, wondering why he had to get up this early. He made a mental note to suggest they met later on weekends. He shook his head and got up, saying a good-bye to his dad before exiting the house. He'd go look for the others.

Lily's parents agreed to let her go, so they gave her the card for the bank account she had started a few years back, and left for work. Lily put on eyeliner, put an umbrella, the bank card, pepper spray, and the usual girl stuff in a purse that she could assure herself wasn't easy to pickpocket, grabbed her subway card, and left, she planned to get a bagel and some coffee from a vendor on her way to the city.

Taryn awoke from dreamless sleep, which she appreciated. Her dreams usually encompassed maniacal Cheerios trying to take over the minds of macaroni penguins and in turn over McDonald's. And she always woke up creeped out.

She got up and took a shower, then threw on a dark pair of jeans, a snug Ed Hardy shirt with a rising sun and a biker skeleton on it and her black 'cowboy' boots. She went down, patting her doberman on the head and leaving a note on the table, explaining where she was off to for the day and left the house, grabbing her hoodie and her bag on the way out. Just before she locked the door, she made sure she had her subway card.

Thomas grinned as he approached the subway, dressed in his favorite Cardinals' T-shirt, dark jeans, and black boots. One never knew what you'd step in in New York. He stood there, waiting for his friends, in particular, blushing a little in surprise at his own thoughts. He shook his head. Lily would call him a love-sick puppy if she knew he missed his girlfriend already.

He sighed, "Damn. Why am I always the first one here? I'm the heavier sleeper."

Taryn walked into the train station, seeing Thomas. She came up behind him, placing her hands over his eyes. "Guess who," she murmured.

Thomas smiled a bit, "Hmm... Doesn't the guy usually do that? Anyway, I believe it is an enchanting girl that brightens my day considerably."

Taryn uncovered his eyes. She replied, "Yes, well I decided to change it up. And hello to you, too." She smiled at him sweetly.

He laughed a bit and kissed her gently on the lips with a grin, "Well, it's good to be surprised now and then. Did you get in trouble with your grandma?"

Lily took a different subway, she preferred the orange line that started on Olympus drive, the main road nearest her. The Orange line there was not highly used, so it was more clean and efficient, which suited her, she nibble on a bagel as she took her street, two stops to times square.

Taryn smiled into the kiss, then pulled away. "Not too much trouble. She figured out where we'd been, though. She's alright with it, though. I think she hopes I'll learn a lesson from ferrying the dead." She looked over his shoulder, "There's the train! Come on!" She grabbed his hand and ran toward it.

Two men in jackets were in the corner, talking and glancing, Lily felt uncomfortable. She unconsciously clutched her necklace protectively. She knew muggers when she saw them, and so she kept her pepper spray in her hand and clutched her necklace with the other, most likely, they would get off in times square and pickpocket somebody else.
