The Darkness Wars Rated Teen/Accepting

"Ok," Tazer said, knowing that she couldn't avoid it any longer. In the back of her mind she wondered if her recent dreams were a warning. "But my friends have the right to know the truth too."

IC: Oeni

"You rely too much on those ideals, young knight. Are you truely what the order has been reduced too since I left? You and these pathetic worms? Have I already killed all the strong knights?" Oeni made no move to approach Vladmir, his amber eyes dancing with delight. The combat had had little effect, it seemed, as the traitor knight seemed to have wasted no energy in their brief combat.

"If so, I look forward to the day I destroy Belle, and reduce your order to ash."

The snow white horse, with his legs tainted brown by the dirt, ran through the trees of the thick forest at a incredible high speed. Marcus was excited since it has been some time since he rode a horse that could run like this one. His eyes were constantly looking up to the high branches, watching out and following Nolan. And later on he noticed that Tazer had stop and stayed behind.

“Nolan!!” a first scream to call Nolan’s attention “ Nolan! Where is Tazer?” Marcus shouted loud enough for Nolan to hear.

Nolan

Marcus's cry was enough to make Nolan stop, and search the surrounding area. He swore loudly, and began to backtrack. Maybe those powerful people had caught up to her, it had been foolish to run.

Vladmir

"Strength will not get you everything. If you believe that through brute force alone you will topple Belle, you are mistaken. No matter what you try, the knights of Belle will prevail against your vile evil," Vladmir proclaimed, and began to run, yelling a war cry.

Zarxs

Zarxs lifted his hand, and quickly unferled his fingers from a fist, and instantly Vladmir was covered in darkness, his yell changed into a scream of agnoy, and dropped to the floor. "Our quarry has moved on, so must we. I have a reading on our target, so we can pursue her liesurely until the hour of twilight is over, and darkness prevails. Then, when they are tired and settle, we will attack," he said. "Until then, leave the knights, they are unworthy of our attention. We will deal with all of Belle once our mission is complete."

Vixen nodded, giving Tifa one last kick to the stomach. The half-unconscious knight grunted, but she couldn't do anything to stop her from walking away.

'We'll be back for you all...' Vixen said darkly to the knights. Then she was gone.

Tifa struggled to get up, but the impact of hitting the wall made her weak. But she couldn't look weak and so the female knight used her sword to lift herself, gasping in pain.

IC: Oeni

He watched Vladmir collapse, his amber eyes dull once again. "Knight, I was once heralded as the future leader of your order. Do not doubt me, or it will be the last mistake you ever make." Sheathing his sword, the traitor turned his back to the wounded knight. "Come find me, if you wish to test your mettle once more, but next time you will not walk away."

Pushing the weakling from his mind, Oeni looked to Zarxs. "As you decree, Lord Zarxs."

Rain sighed and then nodded, reluctantly. "Very well. But that depends on two things. That your friends survive, and that we find the answers in the first place." said Rain. As he sat there with Tazer, he realized he now had the moment alone with her that he had been needing. It was time to let everything out. "I'm Rain Lionheart. I woke up in this forest two years ago without memories of my past." he began telling her about his reason for stalking her and the Wild Freaks. "Recently though I've been receiving flashes of my past, and with them this odd power." he said, opening up his hand and releasing some of the power that was within him, allowing his hand to be covered in dark mist. "To avoid hurting others I ran away and hid in the forest. I should have expected that clues to who I was were in the forest that I was reborn in." he continued and closed his fist, extinguishing the darkness. "When I saw you my memories went wild, and I knew you were part of my past. Or rather, Nala was a part of my past." he told Tazer, finally reaching how she fit into the picture. "I know that I once had a connection to you, so somehow I can find myself through you." he said looking up at the sky, and then turned his head to Tazer. "My fate is bound to yours, so I'm asking you to help me find myself, so I can finally stop running, and so that you can too." he said, and stood up on the large branch. Rain turned back to Tazer, and looked down at her. He held out a hand to help her up. "So that we can both live in peace." he finished.

"As you wish," Doran murmured, heading back towards Zarxs. As always, he would obey, though a little hesitantly. Their enemies were in confusion right now. They wouldn't have a better opportunity to to achieve their goal. Still, he wouldn't question Zarxs.

Tazer listened to Rain's story. It was kind of weird to think that he was somehow connected to a past that she knew nothing about.

"Ok then. You know it's weird recently I have been having these nightmares. I'm chasing after something, but no matter how hard I try I can't caught it. I was thinking it has to do with my past." Tazer paused and a small smile appeared on her face. "So I'll help you."

Nolan

Nolan backtracked until he caught Tazer's voice in the wind, and hopped to her and saw Rain with her. She seemed all right, the man hadn't attacked her, so he didn't make any hostile move. "Hey Tazer, we need to keep moving, if those guys catch up we probably won't be able to run again," he told her.

Vladmir

As soon as the assasin's left, the darkness fell off of Vladmir. It didn't appear as if anything were wrong, but he didn't move, it didn't seem as if he were alive. He suddenly gasped, and began to breathe, though he still didn't wake.

Tifa straggered over to Vladmir who was actually unconscious. She dropped down at his side and shoved him gently, trying to wake him up.

"Hey Vlad, please wake up. We need to get going."

Tazer smiled when Nolan appeared and she hugged him tightly, glad that he was still safe.

"Ok. But where should we go?"

"Well then we'll catch it together." Rain said, with a light smile before Nolan entered the tree. He listened to the two of them talk about where they needed to go. An idea popped into his head. "If you're serious about trying to find out who you were in the past, then perhaps we should head to Hala. It's the town of scholars across the western plains which are just through the western forest." he suggested, looking at the pair of siblings. "Though the Royal Capitol has the main archives, for census of the kingdom, and it would be best to avoid the knights, now that we know that both those weird people, and the knights are after you. There are a secondary set of archives in Hala, for the western part of the kingdom, and of course for the scholars themselves. It's all held in the "Grand Library of Belle" second largest in the kingdom, only slightly smaller than the "Royal Library" in the capitol." he explained to the two youths. He remembered Clara explaining this to him when they were receiving their marriage license. "Your parents would need to have put you into the census which would filled in the archives. Therefore, if we are to find out who Nala is, we should check the archives for a girl named Nala, who lived near the forest." Rain continued. It would also be a good way to avoid the knights. Hala was not under strict watch in some of the lower areas. "What do you say?" he asked.

Tazer looked at Nolan, then to Rain. She trusted Nolan, but she needed to listen to Rain. So she nodded.

"That sounds like a good plan. I think we know the way there too. So Nolan can you tell the others to meet me at the edge of the woods before Hala?"

She didn't want to separate from Nolan right now, especially since she was still being chased, but she had to let the others know where to go and as much as she didn't want to admit it, she knew she was safe with Rain.

Rain didn't entirely agree with Tazer's plan of separating, but he also knew it might be best. He wanted Nolan's mind to be at peace by having him go with Tazer, but he also knew that Rain could not gain the trust of the Wild Freaks. And if anyone could get them to come, it would be Nolan, the second in command. It was also better for Tazer to have the least amount of people around, especially ones who would die for her. She wasn't in any state to deal with that. One person who would give his life was enough. "Alright." agreed Rain. "But we can't wait forever. We should leave by sunrise. If you aren't at the edge of the forest by then, then head for Hala. We'll make that the rendezvous if anything goes wrong." he added, and waited for Nolan's approval on the plan. Rain would not take his sister unless he knew that it was alright with him. He was on thin ice already.

Nolan

The teen wanted to speak out against this, he wanted to point out that there was two different groups apparently after Tazer that they were too weak to face, and even Rain had been subdued by the strongest of them. He wanted to say that they shouldn't get the others involved, that it would be dangerous, and that he should just tell them to go and the three of them could go on.

But he didn't. The Wild Freaks just lost their home, they had nowhere to go, and if abandoned by Tazer and Nolan, no one to lead them. There was also the possibility they could be attacked by those people. Traveling together would also make them a bigger target, and eaiser to hit. There were so many things wrong now, with this plan, with life, but there was no perfect solution. He couldn't make sure both the Wild Freaks and Tazer were both safe and keep them safe together.

He walked over to Tazer and embraced her in a tight hug, and looked down at her. "Stay safe," he said. He then looked to Rain and said, "I'm counting on you." He then turned and headed after the other members of their family, to let them in on the plan.

Izumi moved from tree branch to tree branch, desperately trying to get away from the assassin. She fired an arrow with a rope attached to it at a thick maple tree, and swung down to some of the lower branches. Sfter hopping to a few more, she hid behind the pillar-like stem. The Wild Freak was panting heavily, but she did her best to control her breathing in order to conceal herself.

Why didn't I take the shot when I had the chance? Would it've even mattered? I was attacked so quickly... she wondered. There were so many of them, and they were so strong...it was just really confusing and frightning, and-- Izumi let out an 'eep' when she heard the sound of her pursuer-a boy in a hood-land on a nearby branch.





"I know this is all new to you Koh, but you're going to be working with more assassins in the near future. You will be cooperating with individuals with a unique set of abilities and skills, all the while working to achieve the same goal; being able to bypass any obstacle in your path. As an example, let's say your target is being protected by an entire army, large enough for even you to defeat single-handedly. Within the army there are foot soldiers, archers, knights, and much more. Your abilities, my assassin, grant you the chance to become nigh invulnerable. Your comrades, however, won't be so fortunate. Therefore, your first matter should be the disposal of the archers, as they can attack at a distance and will be out of your comrades' reach. Remember this is merely a trivial example though Koh; the real world is much more unpredictable. You must able to adapt to any situation, make an assessment of what should be done, and achieve your objective."

Remembering his training with Lord Zarxs, Koh had done just that. He laid back into the shadows as his master and teammates stepped forward, assessed the abilities of each target, singled out an archer attempting to take a shot and dealt with her. The girl however, had managed to narrowly avoid assassination and fled into the woods. Unable to allow the girl to slip into another snipering position, he pursued her.



Having seen a lone girl being pursued by strange figure, Leit attempted to follow them, thinking that the girl might be Nala. However, Vladimir's cry of pain alerted him that something was wrong, and the royal guard raced to the source of the outcry and saw the commanding knight on the ground unconscious. "Tifa! What happened?" he asked.

{Okay, the 3rd one could've been better, but I think the first two aren't so bad. May not be so lucky next time, so please PM me if this happens again. (And it probably will. <_<') I doubt that Lolx3 will see this, but her Hero could've followed Leit for a reason why she wasn't there. Also, if you have any problems with the Lord Zarxs flashback dialogue, then tell me and I will edit it to whatever seems to fit the character better MSTM.}

(*feels bad* I'm so sorry Velox. You have the right to violently beat me upside the head now.)

Tazer almost called out to Nolan, begging him to stay with her instead, but as a leader, she knew better. She couldn't let her friends, no her family, think that she had abandoned them. Tazer knew she had to do what's right.

"Let's get going. And Rain when the others come I need help convincing them to stay in Hala. It's too dangerous for them to remain with me any longer."

Rain nodded as Nolan put his trust in him. He was happy that despite his past words and actions, Nolan could have a little faith in him. He then looked over to Tazer. He saw that she didn't want Nolan to go off on his own, but he knew she wouldn't say it out loud. Nobody would say that during that brief time. Everybody had hated the plan, but nobody said a word. Because they knew it was their best shot.

When Tazer spoke Raon nodded again. "I'm not sure what good it would do, but I'll help. It's smarter to have a smaller group." he said, trying to give the logical aspect. She wouldn't want to have to talk about her problems with it. He walked to the edge of the large branch. It the sun was setting in the east, so they would move in the opposite direction. "Leave them in Hala, and then send them off on their own. They still have a chance to escape this life." he continued, and turned to Tazer once more. "But you know none of them will leave." he added, before jumping from the branch, and landed on the forest floor.

(Ok the assassins attacked the Wild Freaks and they all escaped. Tazer and Rain are off to Hala where they will wait for the Wild Freaks. Nolan is going to find the others and tell them to meet Tazer/Rain there. The assassins fought the knights (which is how the Wild Freaks escaped), but then backed off to find Tazer. Most of the knights are hurt. That's the basic of it.)

Tifa shook her head. She still wasn't 100% and at the time Vladmir was attacked, she was busy trying not to slip into unconscious from hitting the wall with such impact.

"He's still breathing. He's just out cold."

Shimi ran as fast she could away from the treehouse. She didn't have much of an offense so she couldn't help. She wondered if anyone had gotten snared in her traps. She thought she saw Izumi ahead, but she could've been imagining it.

She turned to see if anyone was behind her and ran smack into a hooded man.

Carrington had followed Leit, thinking just the same as he had. They had been very close when they heard Vladamir and raced back to find them. When they arrived she swiftly dismounted her horse and walked over to Tifa and the unconscious Vladamir.

Vladmir

The knight groaned quietly and took a sharp intake of breath. "I feel dead inside," he muttered, opening his eyes to see his fellow knights around him. "It's... so cold," he whispered, and shivered.

Nolan

Nolan leapt through the trees, making bird calls that he hoped the other Wild Freaks would recognize, he needed to let them know what was what very quickly.

Tifa bit her lip. It seemed that Vladmir had suffered the worst out of all of them. She looked around for something to help him get warmer and saw a blanket in the corner of the treehouse. Tifa grabbed it, handing it to the cold knight.

"Here use this to warm up," she said in a polite voice.

Vladmir

Vladmir didn't take it, but stood up, though it looked like it took all his nerve and determination. "You don't understand," he said, shaking, looking very weak. "It's me. I don't have any warmth." His skin looked blue, as if he had ice in his veins. He flexed his body, trying to get blood flowing. "The darkness... am I dead?"

"Of course not," Tifa replied returning the blanket to where she found it. She then walked over to Vladmir, putting a hand on his chest to show that he was solid. "If you were dead I wouldn't be able to touch you. But that guy whoever he was must of did something to you."
