The Darkness Wars Rated Teen/Accepting

Nolan

To say that Nolan was suspicious was putting it mildly, but he really couldn't think of many reasons why this man would come and spy on them, it was just the fact he had that made Nolan reluctant to take his word. He caught the rabbit, and nodded. "I'll take your word, but this is Tazer, I've known her since childhood," he said, deciding that hostility was not going to get them anywhere, and he needed to set an example, humans weren't all evil after all. "If you aren't going to try to harm us, then maybe you'd like some boar?"

Marcus frowned when he saw the nice and gently face Nolan made to the stranger, he had obviously offered him something.

“Nala?” Are you sure he called Tazer Nala? Pretty weird” Marcus said confused about the current situation.

Cassidy nodded and gave the boy her hand to help him up. "As long as you are peaceful, you're welcome to share our food." She put away her bow and arrows and scaled down the tree. "Where in the north part of the forest are you? Me and my father used to live up there."

"I think so...although, now I just think I heard Cassidy say that he can have our food. Maybe my hunger is making me hallucinate or something? Hey, Cassidy's climbing back down!" Izumi exclaimed, relaxinging her bow a bit.

What's going on? Is he really all right? Can we trust him? These, and many more similar questions rushed through the archer's brain.

Tazer froze. Flashes of her dreams played in her mind. Something that she was chasing after. Her forgotten past. She didn't hear anything after he said that he knew her as Nala. Her mind was reeling.

"No......NO!" Tazer staggered back. She was breathing hard. Would she let this man decide who she is? Tazer had promised herself at a young age, not to care about he past. But now here it was forcing her to recognize it. "No...my name is Tazer. Whoever you think I am, I'm not. Whoever she was was killed when my parents decided to abandoned me."

Ivy watched as everyone began to drop their guard, and the scene went from dangerous curiousity to a friendly encounter. The ravenette calmed, about to turn and go back inside, when Tazer's reaction caught her off guard. It stood out from the rest. Instead of being compromising and friendly, her body language portrayed that of disbelief and almost...Fear?

Ivy leaned forward, trying to hear. She wasn't sure what was going on, or what the others were making of it, but Tazer was the leader, and despite being younger, she had Ivy's trust in decision-making. If she didn't like their new guest, Ivy wasn't going to relax until everything was settled. I just wish I could make out what they've been saying...

Rain simply shook his head as the teens offered him boar. He would not accept charity, from these kids. They had their own to look after, and many of them were young. He could feed himself and then some if he tried, but these people had people who were unable to feed themselves to feed. Aside from this he was far more interested in Na- Tazer's reaction. "I'm sorry about your life. I must have mistaken you for somebody else." Rain lied. He knew that she was Nala, but if it made things easier for her then he would leave the past where it was. But there was a disturbing thought at the back of his head, something nagging at him that told him she needed to know. "But I must tell you that there is danger ahead for Nala. So if you do have your doubts, meet me at sunrise by the waterfall. I will gladly talk with you. Bring my weapons. Come alone." he told her.

Having finished talking to Tazer, Rain slipped down the tree, trying to hide his slightly more than human abilities if he could. Nobody needed to know that he had recently caused a massacre in his town. He came down beside Cassidy. He wondered if she had lived in his village, but then again, he had never seen her face in his two years there, so he doubted he had murdered her family. Still he felt guilt at the thought of the northern forest. "I'm from Hildus. And as for sharing food, I must decline, I need to hunt while the sun is up." He told the group of teens.

Tazer nodded, but didn't say anything. She was having a serious internal debate. Which one was the right choice. To find out about the past she never knew or to keep living a life she always known? She wanted to ask Nolan for help, but she feared this was a choice she had to make on her own. And what did he mean about danger.

"We need to talk now," she said to those around her, then headed back to the house.

Cassidy nodded at Tazer, but second guessed her thought and spoke to Rain. "I want to come with you. We need more supplies for breakfast tomorrow anyway. I'm master at a bow, i could be of some use." She felt a strange pull toward this boy... or man... whoever he was. "She moved closer to him. "I wanted to talk about the Northern Forest. I want to know how much it has changed since I left. I was much like you, wandering... until i found the Wild Freaks." She looked him in the eyes, hoping he would agree to her plea.

Rain was turning to leave, when Cassidy stopped him. He turned back to her, and observed her. She seemed sincere enough, not like she would point her bow at him again. She had a grown up feel to her, though she didn't seem to be in any place of command in the wild freaks, as they were apparently known, but seemed more motherly and protective. A follower of sorts, though she seemed independent enough. A little like Clara. He knew that he should feel pain when he thought of her, but oddly, he didn't. He felt at peace with her death, and did not seek vengeance on his past self.

Rain wanted to take Cassidy but he knew he couldn't. "Perhaps another time. People around me tend to get hurt. You should keep your distance." he advised the girl, in a bit of a mournful tone. He turned away from her and began to walk off, though he wouldn't be surprised if she followed him. He wished she wouldn't. He didn't want anybody to be close to him if he lost control.

Nolan

Nolan nodded at Tazer, but turned to the ground to and heard Cassidy's request. The man obviously didn't want company, Nolan sympathized with that, solitude was his friend, and he got it while hunting. "Cassidy, come on, we've got plenty of food," he said, trying to dissuade her from following the man. Though he was more wary because of Tazer's reaction and his warning, following him wouldn't bring Cassidy much good, and he didn't want the man to get irritated with them.

Since everything seemed alright, Marcus decided to go up to where Ivy was. He looked to where the others were, and the man seemed not to want any company. But then, Marcus gaze turned to Tazer “Ivy, is it me or does Tazer seems… shaken?” Marcus noticed something a little bit different than her usual happy self as she walked right back to the tree house.

Cassidy made a move to follow, but stopped. He was nice. Really nice. But he seemed like he didn't want anyone to talk to. "If you ever do want to talk, you can find me behind the crystal waterfall." No one in the Wild Freaks knew what the crystal waterfall was. Only those who knew enough about the Northern Forest knew what it was. She always went there when she was a child, and she hid there for a while after her father died. It was her sanctuary away from everyone.
She turned to walk away and put her bow in it's proper place on her back. She hoped he would try and find her. She hadn't known anyone from the Northern Forest except those she left behind. "Let's go eat."

Ivy watched the man walking away, before looking up to the sky as though she were searching it's expanse for some sort of answer. She turned as Marcus spoke, not sure how to answer him. "I think our best bet is to let her think, in any case, this appears to be her deal...Based on her reaction. I wouldn't ask too many questions right now." She hopped down from the ledge, swiftly swinging back down into the tree house to set the table back up and explain to the children that everything was fine now, not giving them any information they could ask questions she couldn't answer about.

Rain turned and nodded at Cassidy, then turned away and headed for the river. As he began the short walk to the tree carrying his belongings, he began to thing about the northern forest. He hadn't been born there, and he had spent little time there besides his two years, but he knew of the crystal waterfall. He had taken refuge there more than once on a hunting trip that was taking longer than expected. He had also often found traces of life there too, like a hairpin, that looked as if it had belonged to a young girl. Perhaps it was this girl Cassidy's, but whatever the case, the Crystal waterfall was no short walk. It could take a day on foot to arrive there, but the hunting was good. The crystal waterfall had a sort of serenity that pulled in all sorts of game. Perhaps a hunting trip with Cassidy would not be pointless after all. Once he arrived at the tree he decided that it was now time to begin the his hunting.

Rain put on his armor, and his jacket, and strapped Reaper to his back. Without a bow or knives he could not do his normal hunting, he would need to provoke and fight a predator if he wished to catch anything. He could go around setting traps, and snares as well, but he would need to keep an eye out for a good meal.

Cassidy walked back to the treehouse, but didn't feel hungry anymore. She grabbed bread and water and went to where they kept their few horses. She took her horse Arianna and started her journey to the crystal waterfall. She needed to get away for a little. She would probably pass this Rain guy on the way. Oh well.

After a four hour nonstop ride, she reached the crystal waterfall. She released Arianna and stood on the edge of the waterfall, the entrance to the cave below her. She dove, and the ability to remember how to enter the cave flooded back to her like that of the water around her. She dove underneath the water and entered the cave in a fluid motion. Quickly, she brought herself up to the solid ground and rested before she stripped down to her underclothes and let her hair loose. She had new clothes in her bag, but she chose to dry off a little before putting it on.

IC: Oeni

"You honour me, Lord Zarxs." Oeni clasped a hand to his chest, and bowed. "Shall we depart?" His eyes went to the assassins once more, lingering on each of them before returning to the dark figure of Zarxs.

Tazer sat down at the edge of the house and looked at her companions.

"I think I should talk to him, but I don't want to go alone. I don't quite trust him. Is anyone willing to come with me?"

She looked at Nolan, the person she trusted the most, but then looked at the others too, so they wouldn't feel like she only cared about Nolan. Tazer cared about them all equally.

Tifa had all her things ready, but there still was one person missing. Tifa frowned. This wasn't going well and they hadn't even started searching for Nala yet.

Vixen was getting a little anxious. Oeni was obviously talking to Zarxs about something, but what was a mystery. She shifted a little, but didn't let it shake her.

Ivy looked over as Tazer sat down. Their leader seemed a little calmer now, more like her usual self. But whatever that man had said was probably still bothering her, considering she'd want to speak with him even in her distrusting sense with him. "I'll go if no one else wants to," She volunteered. For one thing, she didn't like what she'd seen of the man so far, and Tazer was a friend of hers. And for another thing, Ivy hadn't left camp since her last trip to their water source, and she felt a pull to get out for a bit.

"Thanks," Tazer said. Tazer was happy that Ivy had volunteer. Of all the girls in the Wild Freaks Ivy was the closest to her. "And after I talk to him, we can move on from this and get back to our normal lives."

Zarxs

Zarxs nodded his head, and cracked the reigns of his horse. The mount whinied, rising on it's back legs, kicking its front hooves in the air, Zarxs looking like a phantom, merely floating on his back while it did so. The moment came to an end, and the horse shot off, a blur of darkness. The Dark Lord expected his assasins to keep up with him, else they would be beneath his notice and forgotten.

Nolan

"Are you sure," Nolan asked. He didn't want Tazer to be upset by this man and his claims, which were probably untrue. "He called you Nala, but that's not you, not who you are, and you don't have to chase after her." He studied her and said, "but I'll go with you."

"Really?" Tazer smiled and was tempted to hug Nolan, but a small blush creeped into her face at the thought of it, so she didn't. "Thanks Nolan. And I..um...wanted to ask you something before I go. Can we talk alone?"

(No it's not a confession of love. She's going to ask if Nolan remembers anything about their past before they were abandoned.)

Izumi Momoko

Izumi was about ready to reply, 'I'd like to go too...if you don't mind, that is, 'but she stopped when Tazer had suddenly asked to speak with Nolan alone. She was feeling a little nervous about this whole situation, but her curiousity was overwhelming her. Not only did she want to know what that man meant when he called Tazer 'Nala,' but the archer also wanted to be there for her friend. "Um, Ivy...?"

Koh Kuei

The assassin's horse kicked up in a similar manner to the Dark Lord's, and took off after him. Lord Zarxs's steed seemed to be bigger; stronger; and faster than the other assassins', and Lord Zarxs was also a better rider, but Koh did his best to catch up. He turned his head, glancing over his left shoulder, and waited for the others to follow.

IC: Oeni

With a quick flick of the reigns, the horse galloped after Zarxs. Oeni pressed his heels to it's sides, urging the beast to go faster, which it was all to happy to comply with. Before long he was riding alongside Koh, his horse enjoying the chance to move unhindered.

(No she was tempted to hug Nolan, but didn't)

Vixen followed behind coming up along side Koh Kuei. It had been some time since she had been sent on an assassination like this. They didn't all usually go. Well not everyone was here, but Vixen prefered to work alone.
