Travel To Eden (No Longer Accepting, T-M)

The year is 2199. It has been over one hundred years since the Nuclear Apocalypse occurred, that nearly destroyed the world. Most of civilization has been reduced to ruins. Proud countries such as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, and just about every country in the world have been annihilated. Large-scale governments have been wiped out.

In the once great nation of the USA, people struggle to survive. Between the Brotherhood, the Mutants, the Slavers, and everything else in between, it is a struggle to live. There are settlements scattered here and there, but even in those places it’s hard to live. People die everyday. This new reality is like a living hell.

However, it is rumored that there is a safe haven in all this chaos and death. It is simply known as Eden, formerly known as Washington D.C. For reasons unknown, the capital of America was never destroyed during the nuclear war. Since the Armageddon the everyday person knows it as a paradise. It is said that they have clean water, no disease, and no worries of any type of attacks.

However, people are rarely accepted into this paradise. For the past five years it has been closed off completely to outsiders. However, that has not stopped people from coming. It is every survivor’s dream to live in Eden. Very few ever achieve this, however, especially in the past five years. However that doesn’t stop people from hoping and dreaming.

Five people from various backgrounds and races have gathered together, with one goal in mind: travel to Eden, and gain access into the city. Each of them has a different reason for going there. They all seek to work together to accomplish their mutual goal.

They must travel quite a ways to Eden, and face many dangers along the way. Can they get there alive, or will they die in the wastelands? Only time can tell…

Yep, another type of surviving in a post-nuclear war world story. Right now I will only be accepting four people, each with one character only. First come, first served. I’ll be taking one of the five; so four slots are left open.

I want the five characters to have one of the following skills, please: military training (taken by me), medical training, engineering training, scientific training, and…I haven’t come up with the fifth skill, so any ideas about that would be welcome.

Rules:

1: No Mary-Sues or God-mods. No perfect characters basically, or characters that can never get wounded and such.
2: Must have proper grammar and spelling.
3: This RP is rated T-M.
4: Only one character per person. And in these characters, please be diverse. We can’t have five psychopaths, after all. Or around the same age group. Two teens could be fine, but I do want some adults too.
5: I can change to or add to these rules at any given time.
6: First come, first serve.
7: Follow the rules, or I shall sacrifice your character to the mutants.
8: Have fun!
9: Romance is allowed, but nothing over PG-13 please. It goes the same for violence/gore. Fallout 3 type of gore would not be allowed.

11: Right now, I shall only be accepting four people.
12: Please keep everything realistic. Your character has to get wounded eventually. While bullet wounds could be too fatal, other wounds are ok and easy to get. That is why I want a doctor, so our guys can survive the first day. Also, no one is impervious to bullets or any other weapons. So, just keep things realistic.
13: If you’ve read this far, I’m impressed.

Personality: Ikan takes things rather seriously. She always tries to keep a well done appearance. She also has a very cool manner and rarely shows emotions.
History: Ikan grew up in a very messed up home. Her father was a serial killer (killing anyone that looked remotely like his wife) and her mother was long dead. Her brothers and sisters were all older than her and moved out of the house by the time she was 7. Ikan started tinkering with mechanics at a young age (around 4) and instead of going to normal school she went to a mechanics school. (Well if you could even call them schools. They were more like run-down trailers.) She got basic knowledge there then dropped out and learned everything else herself. She wishes to get to Eden so that she can see what is protecting them and figure out how to duplicate it.
Weapons: A wrench? Rope? Any of her basic mechanic tools.

Appearance: Tanned skin, sometimes burned from spending most of the time in the sun. His hair is a sandy blonde that goes to his neck, though he keeps it in a ponytail. He has brown eyes. He wears a brown vest over his bare chest, brown pants, brown boots and gloves. His vest and belt have pouches that he can place his ammo in. His rifle is slung around his neck.
Personality: Trent isn't the most social or friendly person you'll meet, but he'll get the job done everytime. Gruff and likes to be left to himself, but he's won't go out of his way to avoid people if they want to talk, he just won't do much talking.
History: Trent is the third in a line of escorters that have made their business getting people to safety. He's been trained in the ways of wildlife, and knows their ways better than most. Doesn't matter if they're mutants, animals, or humans, Trent knows how to avoid them, take them down, or bribe them, whatever the case may be. He's been in his own line of work since he was fifteen, when his father died.
Weapons: His rifle, a pistol, a few knives, some rope, tranquilizer darts, and smoke bombs.
Other: Is escorting the other four to Eden.

Appearance: Dolores 5' 7" and 117 lbs. Wears a long coat over a t-shirt and shorts.
Personality: Dolores leans towards being an ENFJ type personality, but she is calmer and more sarcastic about everything then a regular ENFJ would be. She believes in helping others and giving second chances.
History: Dolores was born to a family of Doctors. Both of her parents were trained Doctors, her Father a surgeon, and her mother a Nurse later turned Physician. Dolores went to a regular school until she was fourteen, her parents taking her out so they could teach her everything they knew.

Dolores slowly and difficultly learned everything her parents had to teach her, finishing her studies at the age of twenty-six. When she was twenty-nine both of her parents were killed when the settlement she lived in was overrun by the Brotherhood. Dolores escaped on her own as she let the rest of her Neighbours die so she could survive. She doesn't feel guilty for her decision, and ever since then she has traveled from settlement to settlement, never staying longer then six months at a time as she exchanged her medical knowledge for a place to stay and food to eat.

Dolores has been looking for information on how to get to Eden since she was thirty-three, as she was desperate for a place where she could stay permanently without having to worry about her safety.

Personality: Most of the time Jack acts like a drunken idiot. Which he is. He’s never seen without a bottle of some type of liquor. However when combat or serious situations arise, that aspect of his personality vanishes in a second. Jack also can fly into a rage if you mention the Kingdom of California, specifically its recent civil war. God help you if you make a crack about the Kingdom of California civil war…
History: Jack is a former member of the Brotherhood. He still wears the armor he had back then, though he removed the symbol of the Brotherhood off of it. Jack has only one rule: don’t ask about his time in the Brotherhood, and everything will be fine. He regularly drinks, and has yet to be seen completely sober. He is pretty good with a gun, though. His time away from the Brotherhood has not dulled his skills with a weapon. At one time, after leaving the Brotherhood, Jack became a bounty hunter.

Now Jack is traveling with the others to Eden. The reason for his going to Eden is to find his brother’s murderer, and find out what had happened to his kidnapped daughter. He has tracked the killer for years, and has now traced him to Eden. He knew he couldn’t go to Eden alone without backup, so he joined the others. In fact, he was the one who called them together in the first place. Jack has a special spot for children, and refuses to give up drinking. He has claimed that the one time someone tried to take his beer, they lost a hand.
Weapons: Assault Rifle, three handguns, a pack of grenades, a knife, a sword, and an experimental laser rifle, as well as the ammo to go with it all. The two rifles are strapped to his back, the grenades are in the pockets of his belt, two handguns are in pouches in his pants, the last is in a hidden compartment in his left boot, and the sword (a Chinese Officer’s) is strapped to his right leg.

Personality: Sean is a quiet yet kind individual. realistic, but not in a cold or logical way. He cares about others and is responsible. He’s a hopeful person. He believes that working together is the only way to survive in this world, and that his abilities and knowledge should be used to help and benefit the rest of humanity.
History: In the year 2099, there was a brilliant but mad U.S. military scientist. He had been intercepting and deciphering various foreign codes, and believed that there would soon be a nuclear attack in a matter of months. The scientist was ignored and ridiculed, however, and no one knew how close he was to the truth.

The scientist wanted to live on, and continue his research and experiments, so in an underground laboratory he experimented on his own son; turning him into a cyborg. He locked his son into a cryogenic chamber so his body would be preserved from the nuclear attack. With his son’s newly enhanced body, the scientist planned to copy all of the information in his brain, and transfer it to his son’s brain with nanomachines.

However, the scientist’s previous calculations about the nuclear attack were wrong, and the missiles hit right when he was attempting the transfer. The missiles caused the machine to malfunction slightly, and even though the scientist’s intelligence was transferred to his son, the boy still retained his original personality. The boy remained preserved in a dormant state for an entire century until an attack from the Brotherhood caused a cave in and the cryogenic chamber activated, reviving the son.

Upon reaching the surface, Sean was attacked by the Brotherhood. Sean was able to fend them off and escape with his enhanced body, but his arm was severed and the people that he had saved ran away in fear and shunned him. His arm eventually recovered thanks to the nanomachines in his body. The reason that he is trying to get to Eden, is because he’s curious as to why the people there remain safe and secure while so many others are dying; he wants to know why they’re not helping the rest of mankind and learn what he can to help them.
Weapons: Enhanced strength, speed, and endurance. His senses are also greatly enhanced. The nanomachines in his body provide his father’s intelligence in the fields of science. They also allow him to heal wounds a bit more quickly than a normal person, and generate an electric field around his body. His left arm can transform into a powerful concussive lazer beam, but using this puts enormous strain on Sean's body.
Other: Even though he is a cyborg, he was once human; He still requires sustenance such as rest and nourishment, and continues to age.

Jack took another swig of his beer and waited for the others to show up. Just a week ago he had met up with a group of people, and together they had decided to go to Eden as a group. Once they had found out they had similar goals, it only seemed to be the logical conclusion. Four of them wanted to go to Eden for various reasons, and it wasn't hard to hire a Guide to take them there. It would be a long journey there, even with transportation, but it would be worth it in the end, he hoped.

Jack looked around again and waited for the others to arrive.

Dolores Iseul

"I see that you still have your alcohol with you..." Dolores said weakly as she walked up to Jack, recalling the fact that he had a bottle of beer when she had first seen him as well. "Well, whatever calms him down I guess." The Doctor mentally noted as she walked up to the Soldier, throwing her bag on the ground before sitting down on it as she looked up at him. "So...I take it I'm the second person to arrive?" She asked rhetorically as she tried to sit rhetorically.

{Question: What's the setting that the group starts out in? Is it in a desert, the ruins of a demolished city, or~...?}

Ikan approached from behind quietly. "And I am the third I take it." She adjusted the backpack she had on, which was filled with equipment and other things. Seeing the beer made her wonder how often he did drink. It seemed quite often.

Sean travelled through the outskirts of the city. About a couple of miles or so ahead, the cyborg spotted the rendez-vous point. He could make out what looked like three figures and an old practically broken down motor vehicle out in the distance.

I hope that jeep runs better than it looks like it does from here. Sean thought, as he trekked through the wasteland. After awhile, the teen was approaching the others. "Was someone talking about numbers, 'cause it seems like I'm number four. Who's left?" he asked. Sean glanced at the vehicle, and managed to keep a straight look on his face. No way! It looks even worse from close up. I'm surprised that's even possible!

Jack

"Yes, yes, and yes. Well, now all we're waiting on is our guide, wherever the bloody hell he is. I'm eager to get this trip started, so I hope he arrives soon. Ah, I am Jack for those who don't remember. Drinker, weapon's collector, former member of the Brotherhood, and the best damn shooter this side of the country. If I remember correctly, you're Sean, you're Ikan, and you're....Dor...Dol...Doa....I'll call you Phil." Jack said, taking another drink of beer. He downed the rest of the can and threw it behind him, hitting the jeep. A small rumble came from the vehicle and smoke poured from the tail-pipe for a moment.

Sean just stared at Jack with an "unbelievable" look on his face as he made his drunken rant. He then looked at the jeep as it spurred and coughed out smoke. "Okay, it's bad enough that we have to make it to Eden in that thing, but please don't tell me that he's going to be the one driving us there."
