Succession: Rebellion

Mab shrugged. She wasn't exactly sure herself.

"Lady Chris doesn't tell me a lot about her visions," she said carefully, still feeling the need to address Chris properly in the presence of an outsider. But what she says always comes true. Though not always in the way you except it. The future does change, but most of it depends on the actions of those in it. It's difficult to explain. I can only drabble in foretelling. But Lady Chris has lived with them her whole life which is why she doesn't always speak them aloud, which is why she would not tell you without a purpose."

"I don't even think she can turn them off," she added softly, looking away from Carlislie.

Nell was out in the hall again, hoping that no one would attack him or anything. He wasn't sure what happened, but he felt it wasn't good at all. Still there was work to do and Nell wasn't the type to slack off.

Silence looked at the castle, Eiden by her side. She turned to the boy with a serious look.

"Can you get inside?"

"Oh course I can. Just hold on a second."

Carlisle

"I see...." Carlisle muttered as he shifted his jaw and watched the young girl look away. "There is no doubt then... These woman have some kind of strong bond between them..." The Doctor thought.

"So tell me then... How long has Lady Chris been trying to get the Empress killed?"

Cyril

Cyril pursed his lips tightly as Ana got a read on him. It kind of hurt, for what reasons he did not know. It just...did. "I used to be... I think a part of myself still is. But it's not....it's not enough. If that makes sense?" Cyril asked as he looked away from his mug. He could tell that a part of himself was vulnerable now. Which made him both furious and relieved at once.

"I mean? What happens when you wake a narcissist out of themself? They are nothing, have nothing...just pathetic, really." Cyril commented as he looked back at Ana. But then oddly enough, he started to laugh as though he had just heard a hilarious joke. "At least I can still afford alcohol though."

Savina

Savina walked one of the many courtyards inside the Castle's walls. She wasn't wearing much, just a simple gown she had found and thrown on. But it was unfortunately blood-stained now. She didn't care though. She hadn't gone on a damn walk just to chide herself for messing up an old dress.

"Alcohol," Ana said as she raised up her mug, the liquid sloshing about and spilling onto her hand. "What keeps our blood pumping."

The smile slipped from her features and she took a sip from her mug. "I guess it's a form of protecting themselves, really," she said, back on the subject of narcissists. "Everyone has their own way of doing it. When you take away that intense love for yourself, you're exposed, broken in a way.

"It's their own danged fault, though, in my opinion. Hurts others, and then they want to hurt you."

(Time-skipping away, Magus.)

"I'm Nebi. Now, come on, let's go somewhere more appropriate for a conversation. I had a safe-house in the forest outside the city. There, we can talk. They will be combing the city for the prisoners and I don't desire to be imprisoned again. Come on."

With that said, he walked down the hall, gesturing them to follow him.

Outside of the capital, but still in sight of the outer walls, Nebi had led them to an old Hobbit-burrow underneath a boulder. It had been abandoned recently with the Halfling Persecutions, but it was still in good repair with a fireplace and couple of comfy chairs.

He turned to Nix, "You and the girl are welcome to stay the night. Here, we're safe to rest and talk."

Rein, Atiya

"Hey!" Atiya cried in obvious surprise and delight. She squirmed to get out of Kegan's grasp, but failed rather miserably. Rein giggled at her girl's behavior.

"Oh, come now Kegan, I'm sure Atiya won't give that bad of a hair cut."

Maul

Maul happened to be meditating in the courtyards that Savina walked. The Kaleesh did his best to clear his mind, and focus on the matters at hand.

C.C.

A few minutes after Katie had left Rhys, C.C. approached the young servant. A pleasent smile was plastered on her face as she came over to Katie.

"Well, that business at the Arena is settled now. Nebi, Kegan, and Carlisle have all been reported as having escaped, as far as I know."

"Lady Chris has never wanted the Empress dead. She says that the affairs of the Kingdom are not her concerns," Mab said, offended at Carlislie's comment. What was he implying? Because Chris was psychic she wanted the Empress dead? "What makes you think she wants Empress Tsuba dead?"

Sunny finally headed over to the soldier's barracks tired from trying to get all the prisoners at the arena back in their cells. Not everyone had been caught and it kind of worried her. All three were Heirs. Sunny could only guess as to what they might do next.

Cyril

"Ah thank you. Those words are surely going to inspire me to stop drinking." Cyril replied, before taking another swig of the ale. He was on his third mug by now. His throat burned, his cheeks were red, and he was more then a little drunk.

"But you are correct. I only have two things keeping me going. But it's enough, I think."

Katie

Katie's frown quickly faded away as she noticed C.C. was back. "Well that's excellent news." She replied honestly. She was relieved to hear that those three had all escaped Tsuba's clutches. Hopefully they were together now, wanting some kind of revenge on the Empress....

"I guess that means Nebi had one of the shortest prison terms I've ever heard of." Katie jested.

Kegan looked up at Atiya and smiled as he gripped onto the little girl. "And tell me Rein, how many times have you let Atiya cut your hair?"

Savina

Savina continued to walk the courtyard. A small breeze blew through it, chilling the girl. It was a curious thing. She knew it was artificial win, created by magic to keep the garden healthy. But it still felt so real.... "Sort of like those damned visions, I suppose." Savina noted, her feelings equally dry and bitter about the whole thing.

But as the Girl continued to walk, a strong pain hit her, emanating from her chest. And then the sights before her quickly blurred away, being replaced by a sunny landscape. It was pleasant, almost. Except for the stench of death and screams of pain coming from all around her. Savina looked down at her chest and noticed three arrows protruding out of it. She swore under her breath, though the voice wasn't hers. It was foreign, and male, for one thing. Savina didn't know why, but she was sure that she was the one that had killed all these people lying around her. Unfortunately, she didn't have much time to contemplate what was going on as she noticed a giant fireball coming down from the sky. It was the size of a small house...obviously supported by some sort of magic.[i]

And then it all faded to black, before the garden returned. Savina was lying on the ground. "[i]Well at least I didn't cry this time..." Savina thought as she sat up.

Carlisle

Carlisle bit his lip as he realized that the girl was in the dark as well when it came to the Priestess' motivation. "...I lied when I said she saved me." Carlisle stated as he held his hands behind his back. The Doctor had killed at least a thousand men in his lifetime, and yet, he still felt guilty as he noticed the expression on the Girl's face. "I was going to be able to leave the city, on my own with ease. And then this Lady Chris, well she appeared. She told me I would help kill Tsuba, amongst other things, and she asked me to come here...." Carlisle informed the girl as he looked up at the ceiling.

"That doesn't mean she plans on helping though. There must be something else going on," Mab said, hoping that Chris wasn't planning on getting involved. She seemed to be above messing in political affairs. Then Mab wonder. "Maybe she brought you here because of me. Lady Chris..." she looked away, "well she refuses to tell me my future."

Rein

"Point taken." Rein conceded. Atiya giggled again and continued to try and worm her way out of Kegan's arms.

Maul

Maul opened one eye as he observed the strange woman fall, for no apparent reason. "Dp you require any assistance?"

C.C.

"Indeed." C.C. agreed with a wry smile. "Now, it's time for your daily training lessons, Katie."

Carlisle

"Hmm....She must really care about you then." Carlisle commented as he looked down at the Mab. He pitied her, for some reason. But Carlisle could tell that comforting her would just be awkward, not helpful.

Kegan

Kegan chuckled as he felt glad to have had a small victory. "See, besides, what if I lost an ear?" Kegan pointed out as he passed Atiya over to Rein. "Now then, I think Syrien and Brighe should have that fish cooked up by now."

Katie

"Great. I've been waiting for this all day." Katie stated as she slipped her shoes off, preferring to go barefoot now that she could.

Savina

Savina slowly stood up, brushing some dirt off of herself when she heard a voice. It was familiar, she noted. "It was him...." She quickly realized, immediately feeling awkward.

"Umm, no, I just fainted randomly. It happens."

Rein

"Agreed." Rein said. Atiya tried to get out of her grip too, but her resistance proved futile. Rein adjusted herself to hold Atiya with one hand, while she tickled the girl with the other. Atiya laughed again and attempted to wriggle out of Rein's arms.

C.C.

"Good." C.C. proceeded to lead Katie to her private chambers so they could begin the lesson. The Mage waved a hand, and the candles that were placed all around the room all lit as one. A large tome flew from her book-shelf and sailed toward C.C. She grabbed it and opened the book before it could take off her head.

"Is there anything in particular you want to learn today?"

Maul

"Oh? That would seem enough cause to see medical attention." Maul replied. He decided to abandon his meditation for now and gave his full attention to Savina.

Kegan

"Great. Then I think we should get you fed and get to bed." Kegan said to Atiya, placing his hand on the little girl's shoulder before looking up at Rein again. "She does go to bed right after sundown, right?"

Savina

"You'd think so wouldn't you? But after so many years of it you just randomly get used to it. Well, I have, at least." Savina commented as she took a step back. The girl knew that she simply couldn't turn around and walk away. If she did, not only would it be seen as disrespectful to the Kaleesh, but he would also see the tattoo on her back. Neither things seemed very pleasant to Savina. "So you're Kaleesh who used to be an Heir, right?" Savina suddenly asked in an obvious attempt to try and change the subject.

Katie

"Well last time we discussed that I should learn how to heal burns..." Katie reminded C.C.

Rein

"Of course!" Rein affirmed. She stopped her tickling of Atiya and trodded her way back to the beach.

C.C.

"Ah, yes, that. Well, on the surface healing burns seems simple, but it is much more complex than people thing. Was the burn caused by a magical source, or was it naturally caused? If it was magically caused, what spell was used? These questions are very important, because if you use the wrong spell to heal a magically caused burn, the two energies can mix and react badly. The resulting damage could make the wound even worse, and you may hurt yourself as well.

Thankfully, there is a simple spell one can use to check the origins of the burn. If it was caused by a fire spell, then you will be able to find out the specific one that was used, and proceed to use the appropriate healing spell." C.C. explained.

She paused to let Katie absorb all that information.

Maul

"Yes, I was once in the Competition to compete for Emperor. I now serve Tsuba." Maul replied.

She was on her fourth, keeping just ahead of him. "As long as it keeps you going..." She drifted off and frowned down at her drink, forgetting what she had been about to say. Instead of bothering trying to remember, however, she just shook her head and took another drink.

"Huh... Doesn't taste half-bad anymore..."

Cyril

"Hmm? Well that's good." Cyril replied as he set his mug down. The sounds and lighting around the boy blurred together as he looked at Ana. The boy sat still for a few seconds, his mouth hanging open slightly as he looked at the girl. But then the boy stirred, shaking his head and blinking his eyes as he tried to think a bit more clearly, but it didn't work, of course. Why would it?

"Hey...you want to go somewhere else...now?" Cyril asked, pausing every few seconds as he tried to figure out what to say next.

Kegan

"Ok then... You go get her fed. I'll get her bed ready. I doubt Brighe made the shelter very comfortable at all."

Savina

"Huh. That's really weird." Savina replied. "Well you know...this was an interesting conversation and everything. But..." Savina said as she tried to get out of the conversation.

Katie

Katie sat still in front of C.C., slowly processing all the information she was being given. The Girls eyes rested onto the candles behind C.C. as she tried to memorize everything. After a few seconds, she looked back at C.C. "Ok, then what do I do?"

Rhys

Rhys sat at the desk in his room. A stack of papers to his right with just a few filled out forms to his left. When Rhys had originally become a Soldier, he would have never guessed that he would ever have to fill out this much paperwork.

He had already started the process of helping Sunny get their own room... Now he had to explain why he and his men had failed to capture the three Heirs today. Unfortunately Rhys just couldn't concentrate on his work at this point. He as too worried.

Rein

"Sounds good to me." Rein replied. Atiya began to yawn in her arms, her eyes starting to flutter rapidly.

"Getting sleepy?" Rein asked, giving her daughter a smile.

"No!" Atiya denied. But she couldn't help but give another yawm.

C.C.

"Make sure your patient stays awake, and simply heal him from there. Unless they have any other grevious wounds, that should be all you have to do." C.C. said.

Maul

"What causes you to faint?" Maul asked, mostly out of curiousity. He didn't appear to notice that she wanted to get out of the conversation.

(Not sure what to do. Hmm)

"She does," Mab said softly. Then she shook her head. "Anyways despite your reason for being here I hope you have an enjoyable stay. We always welcome strangers who come to the Temple of Apollo for he is the God of Travelers as well."

She bowed and walked away wondering about Chris's motive for bringing Carlislie here.

Ana stared at him for a moment, her muddled mind trying to make sense of his words, amid the noise of the tavern. Everything was all just swirling together in one big jumble, and it was giving her a headache. She then nodded and finished off her ale before setting the mug down onto the bar top.

She climbed to her feet slowly, swaying from side-to-side. "Let's... ge'outta this trash heap," she said, her words slurring together.

In the back of her mind, warning signals were going off, but she just brushed them away.

Savina

Savina stopped in place suddenly as the subject went back to her. She stuttered nonsense for a few seconds before finally answering. "People. Well not all people, just some people. ...Not to mean that it's your fault or anything!" She shouted, growing a bit more embarrassed as each second passed by.

Carlisle

Carlisle waited until Mad was out of sigh before he shut the door to the room he had been given. "...They didn't even give me a shirt." The Doctor muttered as he walked towards the small pallet laying in the corner.

Katie

"Ok. That sounds simple enough."

Kegan/Brighe

"Great. Well I'll see you two ladies soon." Kegan replied before kissing Atiya's head, then Rein's cheek.

Brighe prepared Rein's and Atiya's meals as she saw the girls heading towards her and Syrien.

Cyril

Cyril laughed in reply before he stuck his hand in his pocket, pulling out a handful of gold coins and throwing them onto the counter without counting. "Gr-" Cyril started to reply before he hiccuped loudly, laughing loudly afterwards. "I meant to say great." Cyril informed the girl before walking out of the bar with her onto the cold and dark street. "The place where Dad...and I are staying hic isn't too far from here." Cyril informed Ana.

She followed after him, her usually graceful movements now replaced with constant stumbling. The cool air felt great on her warm face and she paused for a moment, spreading her arms out to the sky. She closed her eyes and leaned back. Without warning, she found herself on the ground.

Ana sat up, laughing for a reason she couldn't quite understand. She pushed herself back to her feet and stumbled after Cyril, still giggling to herself.

"It fe-hic-els wonderful -hic- out her-hic-re," she said, her own hiccups starting up as she spoke.

Cyril

Cyril laughed as he heard Ana hook up. "Gods...hic you are so drun-hic." the boy tried to say, though he just started laughing again as he realized he was just as drunk as the girl.

Maul

"I understand. These fainting spells are caused by visions, then?" Maul guessed.

C.C.

"Just make sure not to get cocky. The worst mistakes you can make happen when you think this will be easy." C.C. advised.

"Now...anything else you want to learn?"

Rein

"So, where are we going to head tomorrow?" Rein asked as she gently set down Atiya. Despite her fatigue, Atiya scambled over to Brighe. Rein lookedd out at the horizon as the sun began to set.

Savina

Savina bit her lip before replying. "You got me. I'm a seer of sorts." Savina replied, though she didn't state what she saw. It didn't really matter, right?

Katie

"You know what C.C., if you don't mind, I think I'm good for tonight. Besides, I should probably concentrate on practicing this spell until tomorrow night's lesson. Right?" Katie asked.

Brighe

"We're going to attempt to pass through the twin cities of Flan and Lyanor. Pick up a few supplies along the way of course, and then we'll probably stay the night in Lyanor before moving on."

She joined with in the laughter, still hiccupping loudly. She lurched forward and grasped onto the boy’s clothing, her grip on that the only thing keeping her upright. The pounding headache had gone away, to be replaced by giddiness.

“I –hic- hav’nt drunkbeenthis –hic- in ages…”

She could feel eyes on them, from those on the streets, but she simply smiled and waved in their direction, nearly falling over each time she did.

Maul

"I see. That is a very unique gift." Maul commented.

C.C.

"Fine with me." C.C. said.
