This World

Zach swiped at the back of Orion's head. Jennifer might yell at him but she was sure the woman wouldn't hit him. But Zach could, but she didn't hit him hard.

"Be nice."

(Orion: God I got myself into such an abusive relationship.)

Jennifer, Sayo

"Thank you, Jacob. I take that as a compliment. But not all scientist are all cronies, ya know. Make sure to keep that in mind." Jennifer said, smiling at Jacob. To Orion, she said:

"Hey, that's just your opinion kid. And nice job, Zach. I see you got your boyfriend whipped pretty well."

"So, what now?" Sayo asked aloud. With the power back on, he wondered if his friends would still be staying the night.

(LOL. Poor Orion...)

"Wow, I must be one of those guys that get a jolly out of being hurt," Orion mused himself, oddly taking on an English accent as he did so. He crossed his arms and stuck out his tongue at his girlfriend.

"I make no promises.

(Anyone get the reference I just made? )

(I do not....)

Jacob

"Oh I will." Jacob replied to Jennifer before chuckling as Zach hit Orion. "Well, we could always play that game Jennifer suggested. I mean, I doubt anyone wants to go to sleep just yet."

Zach stuck her tongue back out at him and laughed at Jennifer.

"Yup. And um...what was the game?"

((Would you guys mind if I time-skipped through the game? I really can't think of anything for that.))

(Sure. I actually want to do some creepy (well it's not creepy, but idc) foreshadowing in the form of a song. But I don't have to. Not that singing goes with a game or anything.)

(I'm fine with it. And I think that sounds like an interesting idea Toko, even if we wouldn't hear the song itself.)

(Well I'm a loser and I like fitting songs to different things. And I found one song that I felt would define Amy later once her past is more revealed and how people kind of see her right now. It's not a complete fit, but I thought it was pretty good.)

Amy was looking through some of Sayo's cds and she stopped at one. It was an evanscence cd. She had seen this one at Zach's house. The band had a kind of depressing feeling to them and so Amy didn't listen to them all, but she did have one song she liked. She had actually learned how to sing it. She wondered if she was any good though.

"Hey Zach. Am I a good singer?"

"I don't know Amy. I never heard you sing. Why?"

"I'm just curious."

"Maybe you could sing something and I can tell you," Zach suggested. She looked at the others, especially at Sayo for approval.

Sayo

"Sure, it's fine with me." Sayo said, nodding in approval. Hm, Amy singing? That'd be interesting. Sayo wondered how good she would be.

"Definitely. I'm sure you have a wonderful singing voice," Orion told Amy with a grin. Not even he was going to tease Amy about this, no matter what. It was like a silent agreement among the group to always encourage Amy.

Jacob

"Sure, Amy, we're all ready and waiting." Jacob encouraged the girl, taking the time to sneak another one of Jacob's beers.

Amy nodded, smiling brightly. She didn't need music to sing because she knew the song well enough.

Zach watched Amy sing. The song seemed weird to her coming from Amy. But she looked so serious when singing it.

Amy felt a weird feeling. She knew the song didn't fit her, but she liked the way it sounded.

Amy ended with her eyes closed, looking like she was remembering something. But then she opened them, laughing and smiling.

"That was pretty awesome Amy," Zach said. "Way to go girl!"

Orion frowned as he listend to the song. It was one of his favorites, but the way Amy sung it... It sent goosebumps up his spine. He hoped that he was just being weird. That it. He was just being weird. He smiled, satisfied with his conclusion.

Sayo, Jennifer

"That was great, Amy!" Sayo said, clapping his hands.

"Not bad at all, kid. That was really good." Jennifer added, smiling. Though she couldn't help but feel a little...weird about Amy's choice of the song. She sung it good, of course, but the song itself was...interesting, to say the least.

Jacob

Jacob looked at Amy, an odd feeling welling up inside him. He had to admit that he would have never thought to associate this song with Amy in a thousand years. But oddly enough, something told him that the song was oddly fitting, and he was a bit scared by that fact. "...Good job Amy, that was...really good." He told the girl, opening his second can of beer immediately after.

Carla

"My, it's almost like she's slowly realizing what's going on all by herself. Not surprising though, she always was a smart girl." Carla thought as she sat in her car, looking into Sayo's house from across the street. While she couldn't hear the song itself, Carla could read Amy's lips, and she knew the song that the girl was singing.

"Really? You guys liked it? Thanks."

Zach shook her head. Whatever off feelings she had about the song were starting to fade. Amy must of just liked the way the song sounded. Nothing strange about that. But her serious expression made her wondered.

"I wish I could sing like that."

"You sing beautifully," Orion told Zach with a grin, gripping her hand, "You have a beautiful voice, even when you are screeching at me for being cool."

Jacob

Jacob laughed as he heard Orion. "Dude, she has so many things to yell at you for, and being too cool, is not one of them."

"Shut up, dumbass! I'm always cool! Therefore, she's yelling at me for being cool when I cut school or slack off!" Orion yelled at Jacob, catching him in an arm lock and giving him a noogie.

"Thank you so much Orion," Zach said sarcastically, but she was smiling.

Amy moved to sit down but she wavered. She blinked, trying to concentrate but she couldn't. Suddenly a flash of light filled her eyesight. Flashes of images filled her head. A guy talking to her. Walking in the woods. Hearing someone crying. Amy looking intensely at her own reflection.

Once they were gone she found herself on the floor Zach kneeling over her.

"Amy what's wrong?"

Jacob

"Hey! Hey, not cool man." Jacob shouted as he pushed Orion away, though the smile on his face showed that he didn't really mind.
