Peace or Not (Avatar Roleplay)

Sokka grinned as they began to dance faster and more carelessly. He shook his head.

"As much as I'd like to find out via a shuriken between my legs, I'd have to decline," Sokka told her.

"Eh, too bad. It might have made for a good time," she said, with a shrug. "After last night, though, I'm just about funned out."

"I know what you mean," Sokka told her dryly, "Can't we go anywhere without people trying to kill us?"

"So Shizuka this is Suki," Haru said. He wasn't sure if Suki knew her already, but he felt the need to introduce. "Um...I think she said she was a friend of Zuko's."

"Yes I was," Shizuka said, her voice a little bitter.

Suki raised an eyebrow and looked from Haru to Shizuka, "Pleased to meet you. Is... everything okay?"

"I guess we're just lucky that way," said Toph, chuckling. "Let's face it. Our lives would be pretty boring otherwise. Still, it's nice to have a day off once in a while, right?"

"Yeah. I mean, we do have our personal lives. Surely our enemis understand," Sokka told her with a grin.

"I think that's why they attack that much. 'Cause they like being butts," she said.

The music was coming to an end, so Toph decided to go all out and enjoy the last few seconds of the dance. She twirled and twisted, and used the ground to slip and slide around the dance floor.

Sokka nodded, doing his best to follow Toph's movements. He never knew she could move like that, but he would be lying if he said it wasn't a pleasant surprise. His body followed hers and, just as the song ended, he dipped her once again.

"Always wanting to ruin our fun," he complained.

"Yeah. We're just unlucky I guess." She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Still, that was pretty fun just now, wasn't it?"

"Yeah. You're a very good dancer," Sokka admitted with a grin, his arms still wrapped around her waist.

"I've had a little bit of practice. Tutors and all that," she said, standing straight again. She did not look as if she would step out of his arms, either. "Because society girls have to know how to dance, and all that. I guess."

"Well, looks like all that was useful for once. Who knew?" Sokka asked her with a shrug. He smiled mischievously, "Gives you an excuse to get your hands on me, not that I'm complaining."

Toph sighed. "You really are terrible, you know that? You're the one who's looking for an excuse." She grabbed his collar and dragged him down to her level. She kissed him, and came very close to his mouth. "Now that was all me."

"Well, it's nice how you're so direct," Sokka told her with a grin. It was nice how she was this direct. He leaned down and kissed her back, "It makes this a lot more simpler."

"Well, you know me. I don't like beating around the bush." She was blushing, and for once she did not much care. She smiled and gave him a brief hug. "What do you wanna do now?"

"I have no idea," he admitted with a blush, returning the hug. He grinned, deciding to tease his girlfriend, "I wouldn't mind doing this, though."

"What? Kissing and hugging?" Her face became a brighter shade of red. "I wouldn't mind that either. Unless you're just teasing me."

"It's a bit of both, actually," Sokka admitted with a shrug. He blushed a little, but still smiled, "We can go somewhere else, though, if you don't want to be watched by weird Fire Nation guys."

"That would be a good idea," said Toph, not liking the idea of anyone watching them. She was still rather shy, deep down, when it came to expressing her deeper feelings, and she would have to admit she felt somewhat lacking when it came to these sorts of things. Besides, wasn't stuff like being with Sokka supposed to be personal and private? "There's a little alcove, or something, out that way," she added, pointing. "Nobody's there right now."

"Sounds good," Sokka told her, looking around for it before walking towards where she pointed with a small smile. He knew that she could be shy about these type of things, but he didn't mind. She was a lot deeper person than she let on.

Toph tagged after Sokka. It did not take them long to reach the alcove she had sensed. It was an out of the way, garden-like area, lined by benches and overlooking the wilder country below the city.

It was obviously meant for couples looking for privacy, but the festival seemed to have drawn all the attention. They were the only ones in the area.

"Well, this is nice," Sokka told Toph a little nervously. It was times like this that he wished he had something cool. He sat down on a bench and leaned back, "No one watching us or making sure we're being proper guests of the Fire Lord."

"Did that ever matter before now?" she asked, smirking. "We always made a point to break a few rules, since we were forced to go to all those boring meetings and parties." Toph sat beside him. "Still, you're right. This is nice. Not as much noise and activity."

"Yeah, well it takes a lot of effort to break the rules when people are actively enforcing them," Sokka told her wisely, wrapping an arm around her and nodding in agreement. He smiled at her, "Quiet is nice sometimes."
