+Anima the Roleplay part 2 (Because part 1 was burried alive.)

Antha exited the stall and washed her hands. She decided to just stop thinking about it.

'Oh yeah because putting off making a real decision has worked so well so far. That's why you have so many friends.'

Antha looked away from her reflection. It was becoming almost too much to handle. She turned off the water and left the bathroom heading back to her class. But a sudden sensation came over her and she staggered.

And soon she saw that she didn't look completely human. She stared at her hands in horror, wondering how could this happen without her making it.

'The stress must of finally have made me lose control of myself,' she thought, beginning to panic. She knew she had to run back into the bathroom, but she was frozen in place.

(Thought I'd make some drama for my character too.)

"Really?" said the officer in mock surprise. "Well, I haven't seen you around Humbleton before, would you like me to take you to the shelter?"

She stared right at him.

"Come on, now. Just get out of the tunnel."

Jade's heart ached as he listened to Caresa calling after him. Asking him the question he couldn't answer himself. Why? If only he knew why. If only he knew how. He had so many questions that needed answering. Even his appearance the thing that protected him from the world, was shattering. In fact the very world he knew was falling apart. He stopped and became oblivious to the world until Caresa grabbed his arm, and he felt calm. The fear and the pain melted away, and he could hear her words in the back of his mind, but all he could think about was her touch. The thought of losing his world didn't seem so terrible anymore, and in that moment, he couldn't lie, or control himself.

"I don't know why. I just know I need to keep you safe..." he said, and turned to look at Caresa with a tear rolling down his face. "From me."

Jade pulled away from Caresa and bolted down the hall rounding a couple of corners and coming to the washrooms.

"You haven't seen me around here before because I just hitchhiked here from Riverton. You know the town that's, what, fifteen, twenty minutes away from here? When I said I've recently taken to this park, I didn't mean I was at a different one here before," Carter explained sarcastically.

He stared right back at her, silently daring her to make him get out.

"Why should I? Because of what I've told you, you have no reason to remove me from the tunnel. Now, if I were molesting little children, you would. But I'm not. So you don't. As far as you can prove, I really am some homeless kid who lives in parks."

Amanda glanced at the door, growing a little concerned. It seemed like Antha had been gone for a while...

"Uh, I need to go to the bathroom," said Amanda, who left almost immediately after speaking it. She didn't really have to, and she didn't know why she suddenly cared, but any excuse to get out of class at the moment was a good one. And she'd heard things about Antha...

And her thoughts were confirmed as she stepped out into the hallway. There, before her, was Antha, part monkey, part human.

Caresa felt every bad feeling melt away, as he looked at her, tears in his own eye, rolling down his face.

"I don't know why. I just know I need to keep you safe... From me."

She held onto him while she could, shaking her head, not wanting him to do that, even if it meant... well, this. She watched him go again, letting the tears fall freely, staring at the ground, suddenly alone. And then the bell rang, and the halls began to flood, and Caresa fled around the corner, where Jade was heading.

And where a +Anima girl stood in clear sight.

The officer got a closer look at the boy, and then came a sudden recognition.

"I definitely would remove you then. However, I do have a little proof that you're not some homeless kid who lives in parks, Carter *insertveryneededlastnamehere*. If you're not going to cooperate, I guess I'll just have to call your parents... wait, I'm doing that anyway."

She went back to her vehicle and made the call to Carter's parents.

Carter swore under his breath when the officer said his name. He shouldn't have let her get close enough to get a good look at him. It was probably his hair, though. Not many people had bright red hair like he did, so it was usually a dead giveaway. It's what had given him away the year before when he had helped tee-pee some kid's house.

Carter took his chance to escape when the officer walked back to her vehicle to call his parents. He wriggled through the other end of the tunnel and made a break for it. Carter managed to get a good start until his injuries caught up with him. His side, and chest, and everywhere else Aidan had gotten him hurt. Running was getting to the point of excruciating, and he'd barely even started.

Pathetic...

Antha turned and saw Caresa staring at her. Amanda had seen her too. She yelped in surprise and fell to the ground. She looked at her hands again and they were back to normal. She would have sighed in relief, but she couldn't. Someone had saw her. Two people had. This was not good at all. She wasn't sure what they would think.

"Um...I..." Antha wasn't sure what to say.

Cara's mind jolted back into action. She didn't know how long she had been standing there, or why, but she knew that things like that didn't happen to people who were perfectly healthy. She presumed that there was no one in the hospital for lack of noise and started on her way to find a phone. It was at times like this that she wished she was the kind of teenager who always had a cellphone on them, but as it was, she was not. She made a small whimpering grunt as a headache reared its ugly head inside of her own head. She giggled at the thought before wincing at the effects. She trudged along slowly, trailing her hand along the wall.
This place is too flipping white. She thought while the artificial lights highlighted every surface. At that moment the bulbs that were so vexing her flickered and went dark. In fact, every light in that hallway went dark. Cara sighed at her luck and dropped to the floor, deciding to crawl forward using her hands to feel the way. It never occurred to her that perhaps she would have been safer staying put. Or that there were people in the hospital. Or that there was a storm rolling in from the west that zapped one of the electrical towers for the hospital.

Meanwhile Cecilia was in her Latin class learning the Greek alphabet. Alpha Beta Gamma....

Caresa watched her, as the hallways began to fill with students, conveniently after she'd fallen. Another girl, a senior, had also seen Antha. The senior girl walked over to her, offering her hand to help her up. Caresa swallowed, and disappeared into the crowd, sifting through to find her locker, as though nothing had happened. She hoped the other +Anima girl would be alright... she must have been very stressed to just randomly change out of nowhere like that. She bit her lip, hoping, praying, that it wouldn't happen to her.

Amanda extended her hand to Antha on the floor, looking her in the eye, no judgment. It was okay if she was a +Anima, at least to her, even if it was strange. Her cousin was one too. And she was relieved for her new friend that no one but her and another girl had caught her in the +Anima form. There was no telling what could have happened if someone else had seen her.

The officer finished her conversation with Carter's parents and strolled casually over to him.

"Come on, kid. I'm taking you home," she said, standing next to him as he finished his strain to run. He didn't look too good, she'd seen it in the tunnel, but now that he was out, she wasn't entirely sure about even taking him home. Maybe he needed to go back to the hospital. After all, it didn't seem like he'd been officially discharged either. But what was there to do? And the hospital must have been crowded...

"Are you alright?" she asked him, expressing her concern. "I could take you back to the hospital instead."

Antha took Amanda's hand shocked that she wasn't running or saying something nasty. It made her feel relieved. Once she stood and searched for the other girl but saw her no where. She could only hope she wouldn't say anything.

"Thank you Amanda."

"Come on, kid. I'm taking you home."

Carter shook his head at those words. Home was one of the worst places he could go right now.

He dropped down to his hands and knees, as that seemed easier than standing. Carter attempted to crawl away as she told he she could take him back to the hospital. He wouldn't go back there, though. After spending all that effort on getting out, no way was he returning.

Slowly, Carter stood again. If he was going to convince this lady that he was alright, he needed to act like it. That would solve the hospital issue, but there was still the avoidance of home.

"Can I go to school instead?" The question exploded from his lips before Carter's mind had time to register it.

Kyrine slammed her notebook shut and stuffed it into her backpack, trying to quickly exit the room. However, her teacher seemed to have a different idea.

"Kyrine, stay. Can you please tell me why you were late to class this morning?" he asked.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Thomas. I woke up late, then I missed my bus, but my parents were already at work, so I had to walk." Kyrine looked down at her shoes, face burning.

"Alright. But I expect you to be on time tomorrow," he said. Kyrine breathed a sigh of relief at not getting detention for being late and ran off to her second hour class.

Amanda nodded.

"You're welcome," she said as she helped Antha up.

"And... don't worry about Caresa. I don't think she'd say anything," she added, a little quieter. The girl had been in the recent, bloody gang brawl, and gotten some of the worst of it. From a Crusader. So she must be a +Anima as well. Regardless, Amanda felt nearly exhausted by all the violence and drama going on from these fights. And she was beginning to feel a healthy disdain for Jade Pierce, especially after that incident this morning.

"Are you going to be alright for your next class?" Amanda asked, hesitantly, genuinely concerned.

The officer watched Carter as he dropped to his hands and knees and tried to escape one last time. He didn't get far, before he stood again. What was this kid thinking? She knew he wasn't alright, as much as he tried to convince her. But she couldn't force him to go back to the hospital...

"Can I go to school instead?"

But that was one place all kids his age should be at right now. Lots of the others had returned to their classes today. And if he wanted to go to school, she had no reason to stop him.

"Sure," the officer replied, and led him to her vehicle, opening the back seat door.

"Sure."

Carter nodded, not sure whether he should be happy or not. On the plus side, he was able to avoid his parents for that much longer, but on the negative side, he had to go to school. That just didn't work out for him.

As he got into the back seat of the police car, Carter was forming plans how he was going to avoid going to school. First, he had to walk in (carefully, of course) and pretend to go to his locker or class. Then, he could take a back exit out and be free to rest wherever he wanted for the rest of the day.

The officer made a couple of failed attempts to converse with Carter, and she dropped him off with a stern warning not to hide out in the middle of town again when he was supposed to be at school or the hospital. She contacted his parents as he walked in, and the drove out.

Caresa was behind, as the students were beginning to clear into their classrooms, slowly pulling books out of her locker and into her backpack. She didn't care if she was late. She hoped her fellow +Anima would be alright for the day. But she knew she couldn't focus any longer, Jade's words, all of them, lingering in her head, weighing on her heart. This wasn't over. It couldn't be.

She glanced around, and pulled her half-zipped backpack over one arm, and made a break for the nearest exit, which was the front entrance, without an idea of where she would go. But she wanted out for now.

And as she pushed through the doors, she didn't notice Carter, whom she crashed into, her bag and books falling to the ground. It was the redheaded Crusader, who looked somehow worse than yesterday, who had been fighting Kyrine, who probably hated the +Anima. And the hallways were clear, and attentions were diverted.

Carter couldn't believe his luck. The officer drove away right away. He could walk back out the front doors! He was just turning when he felt something, or someone crash into him. Landing once more on his hands and knees, Carter swore angrily. He shoved a few of Caresa's fallen books away as he stood up. When he saw that it was the +Anima girl that Jade had saved, his already narrowed eyes turned deadly.

"Watch where you're walking, rat," he snarled. It already hadn't been a great morning, and this just made it that much less great.

Caresa swallowed, silently picking up her books as Carter death-glared. She kept her eyes to the ground as she stood back up. And it looked like he was on his way out as well, even though he'd just showed up. Caresa was usually not one to cut class. Someday she actually wanted to get away from this town. But she had no will to even try today. But there was a certain redheaded Crusader in her way now... but... if he was here, and somehow looked even more beaten up than the previous days, then where was Aidan?

"Where's Aidan?" she asked, suddenly, though her voice was hardly louder than a whisper. She wasn't sure she'd forgiven him yet, but it was habit to care what happened to him. And she couldn't stand that night before, with all his pain and apologies. Even after what he'd done.

"I'll be fine," Antha said, though she didn't sound convincing. "I've just been really stressed out. It's not easy hiding...what I am from people. Especially my family."

Antha had no idea why she was confinding in Amanda, but it felt good getting it off of her chest.

Amanda wasn't convinced, but it was beyond the point. She nodded, trying to be understanding, though she had no idea what it would be like being a +Anima. It sounded incredibly difficult, and in a place like this, there was no telling what would happen to you if you were one.

"Okay," she replied quietly. "I hope things get better for you."

Carter watched as she silently picked up her books, keeping her eyes averted from his. His fist was clenched, but still at his side. He wasn't sure if he was actually going to fight her or not. At least until he heard her next sentence.

"Where's Aidan?"

Somehow hearing that made Carter even angrier. Aidan beat her up and stabbed her, but the emo kid still got sympathy from her. Becoming a +Anima must have screwed her up in ways that no one else had ever been screwed up.

"Aidan's obviously not here," he said, voice harder than his eyes. "So why do you expect me to know?" The fist became tighter and twitched slightly.

"I... I thought maybe since you were both still at the hospital, m-maybe you knew, or..." Caresa continued, against all logic and feeling like a severe Bella (aka, lacking self-preservation) today, before cutting off. She picked up her backpack from the floor, and noticed Carter's clenched fist. He must have gotten into another fight today, or last night, somehow.

She nervously took a step forward, toward the doorway out of the school, which Carter was blocking.

"Well maybe you thought wrong, now didn't you, Caresa?" Carter asked sarcastically. "Why would I waste my time with some emo kid like him? Wait. No. Let me answer that one. So I can beat the crap out of him for being an annoying angst bucket." Carter looked Caresa square in the eye and told one of the worst lies he could think of.

"He said that he wished Jade hadn't saved you. Would have saved him a lot of drama."

With that, Carter walked off, knowing that he had won this war.... Even if it was a war of words.

Now he just needed to get out of town and leave all this crap behind....

History: Peter grew up as the youngest of three. He had a pretty fair childhood and he never minded the +Aminas either. But then one of his brothers died and an +Anima was suspected as the murder (the case was never solved) and Peter began to see them in a new light. He felt like they were wild animals that needed to be tamed or gotten rid of. Peter eventually joined the Crusaders to make sure this came true and that he would be around to see it happen.

Caresa swallowed, averting her eyes from him as he spoke, picking up on the hints behind Carter's bitter sarcasm. A fleeting thought of why Carter looked worse today came to mind; maybe the two actually had fought.

But then she couldn't look away now; his terrible words forced her to be fixed on his green eyes, with that stare that could kill.

"He said that he wished Jade hadn't saved you. Would have saved him a lot of drama."

She stared at him for a few moments afterward, shocked, not wanting to believe him, refusing to believe him. She didn't want to believe that, especially after everything after the fight... but it seemed like she really didn't know anyone anymore. Maybe he'd been faking it the whole time, to get others' sympathy.

And then there was Jade.

She glared after Carter as he walked away, with tears returning to her eyes, and stormed through the doors of the school, pushed past Carter, and ran.

After Amanda parted ways with Antha to get to her next class, she spotted two students, one she hadn't seen earlier, and someone she swore she'd just seen.

She moved a little closer so as to be able to mentally identify them, and she realized the redheaded guy who looked like he'd been in a fight more recently than Sunday was Carter. The girl ran out after he did, and sprinted across the parking lot as fast as she could go.

She glanced around, and started after him as well.

"Hey!" she shouted after him, before catching up.

"Where are you going?"

She then noticed the angry expression on his bruised face, how much more beaten he looked up close.

"You okay?" she asked, gently, knowing the highest likely answer that he probably wouldn't give her. He was angry. She should leave him alone. More than that, she should stop screwing over her senior year by cutting class even more.

Antha began to head to her next class. She was feeling a little better after her short talk to Amanada. At least she knew that not everyone would be out to get her if everyone knew her secret. It wasn't much but it was something that she could hold onto.
