The Darkness Wars Rated Teen/Accepting

"Good of you to join me. I trust you are already prepared for the journey?" Oeni didn't turn to look at her, his helmed face still watching the road ahead. "I hope you are, or Lord Zarxs will be most displeased." Slowly, the traitor knight turned to the assassin, his eyes hard and cold.

"Something troubling you, Vixen?" There was little concern in his voice, but it was easy to tell he expected an answer.

Ivy knelt down beside the dead animal, watching as Nolan started to prepare it. She nodded at his every comment, this didn't seem too complicated. Not exactly her ideal way to spend the evening, but it wasn't something she'd mind doing if she had to. This was the life she had chosen, best to learn how to live it.

"Mind if I try as well?" She asked quietly, resting her hand on the dagger in her boot.

Cassidy nodded. "I see..." She really didn't know what to say. She's had dreams like that before, especially after her dad died, but none as large scale as this. "I don't really know what to say. I mean, I understand the torment you're having over these dreams. I had them after my dad died. The only thing to find out now if it's just a dream or if it means something more. Something a little deeper." Cassidy sighed. "Everyone else should be getting dinner prepared. Do you want to stay here a little longer or walk back with me?"

"Hmm... It should be amusing to see your former comrades' reactions to our appearance if it comes to a fight. It always is," Doran stated as he appeared beside his comrades from the shadows. He smiled a little. He was proud of his stealth.

Marcus watched silently, but carefully as Nolan and Ivy finished the last details of preparing the boar from a few feet from the fire place. Sometimes some things could be learn simply by watching.

“Nolan, how much time does it take for the boar to cook completely?” Marcus asked.

He hoped it didn’t take long, for it seemed tasty and Marcus wasn’t a very patient boy. The blonde kid sat down on the soil floor covered with leaves from the trees above, watching thoroughly and waiting for Nolan’s answer.

Vladmir

Vladmir knelt, his oponion of the queen aside, this was who he served, and he would show her due respect.

Nolan

"That depends. If you want it tender, pink, it won't take too long, though that can make you sick, and I know that by experience. If you'd rather have it cooked more, it takes a little longer. I usually have it done quickly, but I cut the meat and cook it separately, so it takes less time to eat some," Nolan said.

Age: Unknown, but estimates late teens to early twenties.
Appearance: Rain stands around six feet and four inches. Despite his height he is not stocky and large. He is rather slim, but not wiry. His blond hair drapes to the bottom of his face, in the front, and the base of his neck in the back. His hair parts in the front to reveal his face, and light green eyes. He wears a long black coat, with silver shoulder pads. They match the greaves, plate chest, and gauntlets he wears underneath the coat. He wears black pants on his legs.
Group: Wanderer
History: Rain awoke in the forest two years before the current day. He awoke with the clothes he wears, and his sword, Reaper, but without his memories. From what he could tell he was deep in the forest, and without food or water. He wandered for a week in the forest, picking berries, and drinking when he found water until he collapsed, starving, and dehydrated. When he woke again he was in a small foresting town, staying in an unfamiliar house, but with a supposedly familiar face. The family that had taken him in was the Lionheart family. The family's only child, a daughter, claimed that he had saved her in the forest one day and left without a word. The soon to be Rain, had no recollection of this, as he had no recollection of anything. But the daughter, Clara, remembered it very well, as that was the day she became infatuated with him. Though he wasn't quite the same as she had remembered him she was still charmed by the way he acted, and still loved him for what little it was worth to her parents, and thus she named him Rain. Because despite her father's hate of rain, Clara had always loved it. It eventually came out during his stay that their son had died during a hunt, and that the Lionheart line would end once Clara married. Rain was, as always iffy on how things like this worked, his mind being quite childlike, but he agreed to marry Clara, and join the Lionheart family under their name, as he had no family of his own. The lost boy found a family, and learned to hunt, and survive from his new father, though he was not built for hunting, because of his size, and his choice of weapon. In time though, Rain learned to shoot a bow, remain hidden and silent, set traps, and tell the poisonous ones from the good ones. He came to love Clara, even though he was rather incapable of showing it, he did it in his own way. Only three months after Rain had awoken, Clara became pregnant, and by the end of his first year living with the Lionhearts, they had two children, a boy and a girl. He lived a rather normal life for the next year, and he let his mind expand, always asking questions, about himself, and the world. Around the village he had received a reputation as the man who had his head in the clouds, as he would often lose his trail of thought and wander off, until one night, he felt something, deep inside him, a warning. He didn't remember that night. He simply awoke, standing in the middle of the village, set ablaze, Reaper in his hand, stained with blood, and everyone of the villagers in sight dead, and he assumed by his blade. It was chaos, and he heard his children crying, at his feet. Knights from the next town over had seen the blaze and came to help, only to find Rain. They blamed him for the fate of the village. Knights charged him from every side, and Rain lost control of his body, taking each of them out with ease. A second group of knights charged him. Rain did something he never thought any man could do. He controlled darkness. He made a claw of dark mist rise from the ground and crush one knight. Another was propelled into the air, from an explosion of darkness. Rain leveled several houses, along with the last of the knights with a wave of darkness. When Rain regained control, he took his children to a nearby town, despite being in pursuit of the knights of Belle. He left them with an elderly woman in a house far enough away from the town so that he wouldn't be noticed. He told her that someday he would return, when it was safe, and that he would leave his blade to his children were he to die. He also demanded that they kept the name Lionheart. Since leaving his children, Rain has been living in the forest, where he could be alone with his thoughts, and alone in general, where he can't hurt another person.
Skills: Rain is a relatively skilled hunter and can use a bow, but his true strength is with a blade. He carries with him, Reaper. A four foot long sword, black as night, with a blood red edge. This is it's base form, Reaper has the ability to shape shift into different several different forms. He also has a bow, a quiver with 15 arrows, and a pair of knives. He has the devastating ability to control darkness, which takes on the form of a dark mist, though he can shape it tothe form of his desire. He does not know how to use this ability though, and wishes never to use it. The only time he has ever knowingly used it was when he fought the knights. He also has unhuman senses, and strength, ever since the accident, he also avoids using this as well.
Other: He fears who he once was, because his memory is slowly returning, in flashes, and he believes this is the cause for his change in physical abilities.

Well, the Assassins are all being summoned by Lord Zarxs. The Knights/Warriors/Heroes have been summoned by the Queen, and are currently in her throne room. (The Assassins are heading towards Zarxs'...throne room, or whatever.) The majority of the Wild Freaks are at their tree fort hideout thing (I think that's what it is.) watching Nolan skin a boar that they'll have for dinner. Cassidy and Tazer are by the river talking (They might've been heading back to the fort thing. Don't fully remember.) Izumi was near a training like area the Wild Freaks use, complete with a waterfall, and, that's it I think.}

(Why are your profiles so long.....you are both accepted. Um the heroes are talking with the Queen, the assassins are going to meet Zarxs and the Wild Freaks are making dinner.)

Queen Isiall smiled at the warriors and stood.

"You may stand. We are missing someone, but I'm sure none of you mind filling them in later."

Tifa nodded, standing upright. Isiall sighed and shook her head.

"You may be wondering why I asked you here. I am sure you all know of the ongoing war between us and the Darkness Realm? It seems that it may come to an end. But I know I won't survive to see it."

Tifa opened her mouth to say something, but Isiall shook her head

"I am dying. This will give the Darkness Realm ample time to move in on Belle. That is why I asked you here."

Tifa felt her body go numb. Was the Queen asking them to fight in the war? Isiall smiled as if she could read Tifa's mind.

"This isn't me asking you to fight. This is me asking you to find someone. I do not have an heir. I spent my reign trying to keep Belle safe. But there is someone."

"Who, your majesty? I haven't heard of anyone related to you."

"No. That is because my sister and her husband wanted to keep their child safe. Yes they did have a child. Princess Nala. But my sister knew that Zarxs, the tyrant ruler of the Darkness Realm, would come after her. So she gave Nala up. She was with a woodsman and his son, but I was told he left them in the forest to further protect them."

Isiall took a deep breath. Tifa wondered how long she had left.

"I want you to go into the woods, find Nala and bring her back here. I choose you all specific for you are well trained warriors. I fear that Zarxs knows where Nala is. So I needed to choose people who could fight.

"I know this is a lot to ask all of a sudden, but it is the Kingdom's only option if we are to survive."

Vixen just shook her head, not planning on telling Oeni anything. If he didn't know about her powers before, she wasn't able to make him aware of it.

"Nothing. Just a little anxious to figure out what Zarxs is going to tell us."

Tazer nodded and looked at her feet. She knew Cassidy was right and it was pointless to dwell as she had told herself before.

"Let's head back."

Cassidy smiled and helped Tazer up. As they walked back to the fort, Cassidy looked at the trees, some with Nolans marks, and water that they passed. She always loved the forest, and that may have been the reason why she fled into it when her father was murdered. She was safe in there.
As they reached the fort, Cassidy ran over to help cook. "God this smells amazing you guys." She looked over to Nolan. "Did you add anything to the water to make it smell and look so tasty?"

Tazer walked behind Cassidy. Upon smelling the food she forgot about her troubles and focused on her hunger.

"Hey thanks guys. This looks really good."

Rain sat by a river, lost in thought. The rays of the sun were parted by the leaves, creating sunbeams that dotted his black clothing, and bounced off his silver armor. His coat lay across the forest floor a few feet away, and his sword plunged in the earth beside him. His bow lay across his lap, and his hand on the end of his arrow, ready to shoot at a moments notice, that is if he could keep his mind from wandering off. "I like the sun." he says to himself, in an aloof tone, as if he were without worries. "It's warm, and radiant. Casting it's grace over the land. It's beautiful." he continues, most likely unaware he is speaking aloud. He turns his head from the sky, choppy through the trees, to his sword, in the ground beside him. "It's funny how one's troubles seem to slip away when things get to their worst. Things stop being bad, and just become what they are. You stop caring about what's wrong and what's right. Everything is put in it's place, then things just become about running away, and hiding, then just about lying in the sun." he says, changing the subject of his thought slightly. His eyes were only half open, even though he had slept relatively well that night, he felt a tiredness that only calm could bring. Like a safe quilt of indifference, that wraps you up, makes you feel safe, and you drift off. But he couldn't sleep yet, so he stayed awake, pondering. "I wonder if that makes me a bad person. To worry only of myself, and my comfort." he finished, and then simply listened to the river, the bird song, the wind in the leaves. Rain closed his eyes, and listened to the forest.

Vladmir

A surviving heir of the previous rulers? A princess at that. Vladmir's eyes lit up at the news, his mind trying to sort this news through. "My Queen, you have my word, I will do everything in my power to bring Princess Nala back," he said.

Nolan

Nolan turned as Cassidy and Tazer returned, and shook his head. "Nope, but it's better when more people help prepare it," he said. He nooded to Izumi as she appeared. How is it that everyone always shows up after the food's ready, he thought.

Zarxs

"Be anxious no more," Zarxs said, stepping out of the shadows, as though physical objects were nothing to him. "I have assembled you, capable assasins, for an assasination that might push you to your ultimate limitations and beyond. Sources inside the castle of Belle have informed me of great news. Queen Isiall is dieing. However, it presents a problem. I have known for many years that the former King and Queen hid their daughter from me somewhere, but she was young, wouldn't remember, and I saw little threat to her living while her kingdom would fall to me regardless.

With Queen Isiall dieing, we could move in while they have no ruler, and the confusion would allow us victory. However, there is the probable chance that she will search for the heir, and while she still poses little threat, with leadership, Belle is a more sizeable threat. That is why we will venture out and find the missing heir, and end her life. I have located her in the forest near Belle."

Vixen nodded. So it was true after all. They were to find the girl. Vixen wondered how easily it would be to take her down. Vixen didn't like to kill people, but she learned it was necessary to do. The girl would die and Belle would be theirs.

"I'm ready to go," Vixen said, which was kind of pointless. She had few things after all.

Queen Isiall nodded and sat back down. She was already tired. The Queen scanned the group before them and prayed that they would be successful.

"But what if she doesn't want to come with us," Tifa asked hesitantly.

"You must bring her back," Isiall said. "I wish you all luck. Now please leave me."

Tifa nodded and left the throne room. She felt a little unsure about it all, but there was nothing she could do.

Ivy looked up as Tazer and Cassidy walked in, "Welcome back." She said, sliding her dagger back into it's hold on her boot. She stood, crossing her arms and glancing back at the boar. "It does, and it shouldn't be too long now before it's finished. Give or take five minutes. Credit to Nolan, he's not half bad at this stuff."

"I know," Tazer stated a little hostile. "He was the one who usually made us food back when it was just the two of us."

Tazer didn't know why she was acting this way and tried to show Ivy that she meant nothing by it.

Doran nodded at Zarxs' orders. He frowned a little, however, at the thought of killing a young girl that posed no threat to the Darkness Realm. He spoke, "We will not allow her to threaten you rule, milord."

Koh Kuei

Koh said nothing, he didn't need too. He had been serving Zarxs for so long, that he never questioned his orders, and always obeyed. The thought of betrayal of disobeying had never even crossed his mind, except once when he was young and had just begun his training, but he would never make that mistake again.

IC: Oeni

"As you wish, Lord Zarxs." Oeni did not turn to his master, keeping his focus ahead like it had been for the past while. This will be the death blow for Belle, I am certain...finally, it's wretched existance will be brought to an end.

Drumming a single finger againest the hilt of his sword, the Traitor Knight allowed a ghost smile to pass across his face. "Certainly the queen will dispatch more of her kinghts. Another chance to cut down the sworn defenders of that accursed place."

Ivy was a little taken aback by Tazer's tone, wondering if she was all right, but the teen didn't say anything about it. "...Oh," She blinked, "Okay." She's probably just a little irritated with being hungry, She thought to herself, nearly oblivious to her jealousy, No one ever said life in the wild was supposed to be easy.

Nolan

Though his back was turned to them, Nolan caught Tazer's tone. He didn't recall Tazer or Ivy ever having an argument or something, so he didn't know why Tazer would act like that. Maybe it was her dreams working on her nerves. She told him about them, and as much as he tried to help her, he wasn't sure he was doing anything. On the upside, Ivy had paid him something like a compliment, probably as much of one as he was going to get from her.

Vladmir

The male knight left, and addressed the other two once out. "I will leave within the hour, I suggest you be there before that if you want to accompany me," Vladmir stated. He turned and walked away from them to prepare his departure.

Zarxs

"Interesting choice of words, Doran. My rule is assured, but of what is the concern," Zarxs said, the hood of his robe facing the assasin. "That remains to be seen, Oeni, but the possibility is likely. I know how much it means to you to end them. If you do not get the chance on this assasination, I will see to it that you will another time." He put a hand into his hood, and a high-pitched whistle came from him, barely audible to the group, and soon multiple black horses with bright red eyes gallopped to them. Zarxs mounted the lead as if a he weighed nothing, seeming to just float onto the saddle. It had been far too long since he'd been on an assasination, he would enjoy this one.

"You are too paranoid, milord," Doran risked as he mounted his horse. He smiled as he thought of something, "Perhaps we'll run into some knights of Belle. They'll make good practice."

Zarxs

A dark claw appeared out of thin air and gripped Doran's neck. "Paranoia is never something you can be in excess of. Questioning everything keeps you alive. I would have thought that an assasin would know that, but maybe some lessons take more time to sink in," he said, and released the hold on the boy. This was the second time Doran had questioned him, and Zarxs would normally have ripped open his mind and searched for any hint of betrayl, and there were few who could resist a complete mind reading, but more important matters were arising. Doran could be dealt with later.
