Deep below the streets, through the labarynth of tunnels and pipes, muffled screams fell upon deaf ears. A small gathering of vampires circled in the darkness, eager to drink, but wary of whom this human belonged to. It was his and it would be suicide to take his prey.

Sweat dripped down the man’s brow, his eyes wild as he took in the circling figures with a mixture of curiosity and terror. They were vampires, and he was to be food for one of those monsters…or maybe he was just more blood to be added to the strange pool across from him.

The crimson depths seemed to stare at him with remorseless eyes, and made him wonder if their wasn’t something lurking in the depths of the red liquid.

The surface rippled, causing the man to yelp. A face emerged on the surface, seemingly tranquil as it’s body slowly rose to the surface. Straining his neck to see the body, the man didn’t notice his captors slowly retreating deeper into the darkness. “Hello? Are you alright?”

Twin orbs of red snapped open, and the tranquility seemed to vanish as their malevolent gaze found the man. Rising from the pool, the figure slowly crossed to the human. A cold smile was spread across his face, fangs gleaming in the dim light of the chamber.

With his limbs refusing to listen, he could do little more than wither underneath the lifeless gaze of the towering figure. His hands coiled quietly around the cross dangling from a chain on his neck, and he held it up in a vain attempt to repel the vampire.

Drusillus slowly lifted his hand, and closed it over the small metal symbol. “He won’t hear you scream, but I promise to enjoy everyone.” He didn’t have time to even breath, before the fangs tore into his neck.

Andrew wouldn't do anything to her, would just let her lay there... let her destiny control her fate for now; in the morning he may decide for her. He walked into his bathroom, closing the door, removing his blood-soaked clothes, and cleaning up. He had to leave her here for now... he would have to find a human to feed on for the night, out in the street... he knew some remote places. He wasn't sure if the preserved blood would be enough for the rest of this night.

It's too risky to go out there and get someone like that... even in a remote place, you could easily be caught. And it isn't the greatest idea to leave someone you just tried to kill alone in a place like this, where someone else could find them while you weren't here... and once again, you tracked down...

He stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around him, running into his room at vampire-speed, changing at the same rate. He sat down, and stared at the floor, and the stake on his dresser that he'd put there before cleaning himself up. He took it and pulled it apart, and pushed it together, trying to get it back to its original form... he accomplished it swiftly, and put it within a very secure drawer. The vampire stared at the closed area, knowing what was just beyond it.

Next time, if there is one, you will not hesitate. You will not.

For some reason, Andrew felt entirely worn out, which was something new to him. In his over 300 years of being a vampire, he had never felt this exhausted. Sitting at the edge of his bed, staring at the ground now, he almost didn't feel like he could make to the door. But what he needed more than rest now, was nutrients.

He stood, pushing open the door, trying to ignore the girl on the couch, trying to act as casual as possible in the passing time, as he removed human blood again from the refrigerator, taking a larger glass than usual, pouring as much into it as possible, and drinking it down quickly. He expected to feel better, but it didn't help him much. So he continued to drink. Still nothing.

The vampire girl on the couch seemed to be drifting somehow. A vampire could not bleed to death, nor suffocate. Her ribs were broken, yes, and they would take time to heal, but she was going to live. But she was very weak. The slightest piercing of a stake to her heart now could possibly mean instant death.

Her cup remained on the table, somehow unmoved. He removed the glass, depositing it into his pitcher of chilled blood, and poured a new cup.

"Here," he said, quietly, as he approached her anew. "You don't tell anyone of what has happened here. You know what will happen if you do."

"Here. You don't tell anyone of what has happened here. You know what will happen if you do."

Charlotte turned her head toward Andrew's voice, seeing him pour her a new cup. She had heard him leave and take a shower, and listened as he drank glass after glass of blood, but after that, she let everything fade out. It didn't take so much energy to just lay there. Lay there and forget about everything. Not doing anything. But she knew she need blood.

Being in the severely weakened state that she was, Charlotte found herself reaching toward the glass of blood, only to be held back by the ropes that were securing her to the couch. Her hand fell in dismay. If only she could escape these bonds. She started trying to wiggle an arm free so she could pick up the glass and take a long drink.

Screw... not drinking... it... it's not like... I killed... the person....

"I... won't..." she replied weakly, voice cracking with the two words she spoke. It was a promise. She had been closer to death than she preferred, and Charlotte honestly did want to live, and she doubted she would ever use her life for a bluff again.

"I... won't..."

For some reason, Andrew trusted those words. Perhaps it was because he knew that Charlotte valued her life enough to say them. She sounded so weak now. But at least she could get her arm out and drink the blood. It didn't seem as much as an accomplishment as it would have earlier. But earlier, if she'd just agreed to come back, none of this would have happened...

She wouldn't. That's good. She's determined, it'll mean something later when she rejoins...

When. What made him think she'd want to come back to this side after what he'd done to her now?

But I'm determined as well. I will not give up on her until she changes... and if not, then... well, then, the paths remain the same.

Andrew observed her as she drank the blood, as she was beginning to look a slight bit better already. "Good," he replied. He sat on the table now, staring at the vampire before him. He had a lot to work on... she had a long way to go. His gaze then rose to the hole in his wall. He would have to fix that too... hm.

The blood was already making Charlotte feel stronger. The chilled liquid sliding down her throat felt like nothing Charlotte had ever tasted before, though she knew she had. It was helping her, healing her. She didn't feel quite as useless and rundown as just a few moments ago.

She looked at Andrew who was looking at her, then something above her. Charlotte assumed that it was the hole in the wall that he had created when he chose not to stab her the second time.

I wonder... what stopped him... from doing that? It wouldn't have been... hard to do that... I was, and am, completely defenseless.

Whatever it was, that stopped him, she didn't want to stay there long enough to see Andrew change his mind. So she whispered, "Let me leave," in a raspy voice.

Dave drove his truck down the street twords Kimi's apartment. He hadn't seen her in so long.....he wanted so desperately to drive 60 miles and hour, but the speed limit and his truck wouldn't allow it. Dave calmed himself down and focused on the road.
---
Kimi heard Dave's truck before she saw it. The brown monster of a truck's engine could be heard a block away. Kimi could still remember the day Dave drove his now working truck down the winding roads to her parents house. That was when they were 13. She remembered how happy he was, he didn't even notice that he was covered in grease. Kimi laughed at the thought.
Dave's truck pulled up in front of her. He leaped out and ran for her. "Oh Kimi I've missed you so much!!!" he said.
"Honey I missed you too" Kimi said into Dave's shoulder.
Kimi waited for Dave to calm down. Then he said, "Do you want to go to the cafe? You must want some real food after all that airplane stuff."
"Alright we can go to the cafe. I have that surprise remember?" she said. Batting her lashes like she did when they were 17.
---

Dave drove them to the cafe. He jumped out then helped down Kimi. "Oh my back is killing me." she said wincing. "Are you alright?" Dave was concerned. "Yeah im fine." Kimi said. "All part of my surprise" she added.
---
Dave and Kimi found there favorite table by the window. Kimi sat down, more slowly than usual. Dave didn't seem to notice. What he did notice, however that Danielle was sitting behind the counter, looking bored and reading out of a text book. Dave got up to order.
"I'll have a tall black coffee, and Kimi will have a...." he paused, remembering her favorite,"a small mocha late. Also, can we get some cinnimon rolls with that?"
"Sure" Danielle said. Dave was sure he could hear a sigh in her voice when she said that. He put it from his mind as he sat back down.
"So what was your surprise?" Dave asked.
Kimi looked up."Oh yeah..well...um...you remember when I said my back was killing me?"
"Yeah......" Dave was literally dying of curiousity. But he kept it to himself.
"Well.....Dave...Your....Your gonna be.....a Dad. Kimi stammered out.
"What?!" Dave looked shocked. "Wha..?"
"Dave, I'm pregnant." With that she took off her coat, exposing her stomach, which was not flat, but rounded.
Dave nearly fainted. "Its mine...right?"
"Of course it is!!" Kimi said, exasperated."I found out on my first assingment. The Docters say I'm maybe five months along. Dave...are you alright?"
Dave looked utterly shell-shocked. "Well..um...uh.....Wow."
Kimi continued to stare at Dave."What is it?" she asked.
Nows my chance!! Dave thought. He pulled out the black box he had got from the jewlers. Dave got up from his chair. He knelt down beside Kimi.
"Kimberly O'conner. Will you marry me and spend the rest of your life with me?" Dave asked, his voice calm even though he wanted to sink into the floor.

"Order ready." Danielle came back with their order, "Sorry it took me so long..."
She looked up and saw what Dave was doing.
Kimi brought everyone back by saying, "YES, I WILL!!" she practically screamed it.
She flung herself into Dave and kissed him and hugged him.
Next to the happy couple, Danielle dropped the tray.

(Sorry if that's controlling other peoples characters. I had permission)

"Let me leave."

Andrew considered it. If she was a vampire like she used to be, she would keep her promise, but she was different now. And he still felt as though he had to bring her back to the other side, to where she belonged. The blood that had covered them still reminded him that she was, after all, a vampire, but regardless of such, she couldn't act this way.

She was almost entirely defenseless, though she looked a little better after the blood. He could take no chances, and complete what he'd tried to do earlier, or he could take a risk and continue trying to bring her back.

"Alright," he said, somewhat quietly, thoughtfully. "You may leave, but under a few conditions. You will come back here at 6:00, tommorrow. And perhaps a few more times. I... I won't do this again, if only you cooperate."

He'd change her back, for sure. If not, then let a vampire hunter stake him. One day, perhaps soon, he'd be caught doing the acts that he did, as a vampire who knew how to be one, and he'd be taken away. His fate would be worse than Charlotte's if she stepped out of line again.

Somehow, it didn't seem entirely right, what he was doing to her, but he was the one who'd made her a vampire, and probably the one who had driven her to this point. He knew he had to acknowledge it.

No one else would be there to carry on these ways when he was gone, there would be no memory of him except for being another "Traditionalist" Vampire "monster", who fed on humans and showed them no mercy. The one vampire he made didn't know how to be one. Hunting alone and doing his 'activities', and feeding, though the life once provided much excitement and value and purpose, was getting old. Three hundred years was but a short life for an old vampire, comparatively, and it was time something different happened. Vampires weren't invincible. Perhaps he didn't have much time.

He undid Charlotte's ropes.

"Wait here," he said, and exited the room, for the bathroom once again. He pulled a roll of bandages and medical tape, and walked back out again. He handed set them on the table.

"Do what you must. I trust that you won't tell anyone what happened."

Two other words were at the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't get them out. Whatever little pride he had left would be ruined if he did so. She was still bound to him; he couldn't say those words if he was truly prepared to do this again. And if he honestly was not, he still wasn't sure he could bring himself to say them.

((And there goes gradual character development... *watches it swirl down the drain...*))
-------------
Danielle took Dave's and Kimi's orders, sighing slightly as she confirmed them. First, it seemed like he'd forgotten he was supposed to meet her here, about 40 minutes ago, and second, the worst, his girlfriend was back. Early. Well, early as far as she knew... it seemed as though she had gotten her facts wrong.

While she made their coffees, she was so lost in thought, that she hardly noticed the couple talking the way they were, the way Kimi took off her coat, and the way Dave knelt down in front of her.

"Order ready," she said, and shock filled her, so much so, that she dropped the tray to the ground.

"YES, I WILL!" the all-too-lucky girl practically screamed. The couple had the attention of the entire cafe now, some awww-ing, some just smiling subtly. What a great day for them, witnessing a proposal while getting their daily coffee... just lovely...

Danielle's hands shook as she crouched down and picked up the cups of coffee. The covers on them, fortunately, hadn't fallen off, but they'd rolled off the tray and landed on the floor. And the cinnamon rolls weren't in the greatest condition now. She tossed them, and made them each second cups, while gathering their rolls, staring at the counter as she hid behind it. She walked up to them, and placed each respective coffee in front of the correct seat, and the cinnamon rolls in the middle.

I cannot believe this is happening...

Elouise

The bell above the door jingled as Elouise entered the cafe. She was greeted by the scents of cinnamon, coffee, sweat, and her favorite chocolate. She walked up to the counter, ignoring cries of "There is a line you know", and "Budger". "Hey Danielle, I'm so sorry I'm late. I'd forgotten that I'd agreed to take Mitch's shift," she explained to her fellow employee. She ducked under the counter and exchanged her soaking jacket for a forest green apron.

"Danielle, what's the matter," she asked finally noticing her expression. She picked up a cup and filled it with hot chocolate adding whipped cream and a generous helping of chocolate syrup. Then she removed a bag of M&Ms from her apron and sprinkled some on top. She took a drink as she waited for Danielle's response.

Jesse

Jesse sat at his semi usual table at the back of the cafe a basic cup of black coffee in his hand. He lazily browsed an issue of TIME magazine left at his table. Usually he would've grabbed his coffee and left, but he wasn't crazy about the rain. He silently watched all of he drama unfold, it didn't really faze him much. Other than shivering slightly when it made him think of Isabelle. He watched one of the waitresses bring them their coffee, he noticed the dejected look on the girl's face.

Poor girl, she probably has a crush on that guy. Though their situations weren't very similar he felt some compassion towards her. Perhaps, I'll leave her a nice tip, money seems to make girls feel better. He was slightly taken aback by himself. When in these last few months had he even thought of a girl. Nonetheless thought of making them feel better. He shook his head trying to get a grip.

Danielle walked back behind the counter, after giving another guy his coffee; he had messy brown hair, that was a little wet from the rain and eyes that matched it. She'd seen him here before, but he hardly ever sat down. He had to be a vampire, with those looks.

She sighed, shakily, as she walked back behind the counter, to find her co-worker Elli standing there, putting on her apron, and then beginning to fix herself a cup of delicious, sugary-looking hot chocolate. She'd dismissed her first words to her, mumbling something how it was okay that she forgot, though her mind was elsewhere, her eyes on the enthusiastic couple.

"Danielle, what's the matter?"

The girl glanced over at Elli, as she took a sip of her now-M'n'M sprinkled hot chocolate.

"I..." she paused, biting her lip for a second. "You see that guy over there?"

She gestured to Dave. Danielle had told Elli about him before, and he'd been to the coffee shop a couple of times... but she hadn't seen his girlfriend. Well, fiance... fiance that, looking at her rounded stomach, who could possibly be carrying his child. Oh gosh... she sniffed. How could this be happening?!

Danielle only thought of the situation in relation to herself, not in the terms of which a half-vampire would mean to the rest of the world. Either way, the proposal, the child, the everything seemed absolutely devastating right now.

Elouise

Elouise followed her gaze to the young couple. "Yeah, I see him, that's the guy you like right?" She inspected the woman across from him. Seeing her rounded stomach and glancing again at Danielle's face confirmed it. "Oh no. I'm so sorry Danielle, so sorry. Is there anything I can do?" She asked putting a hand on her coworker's shoulder. She looked over at them again and a thought occurred to her.

That girl is a vampire, and he's a human. She reasoned silently. She nearly dropped her hot chocolate. "This could be extremely bad," she whispered to herself.

Jesse

Jesse eavesdropped on the waitresses conversation. He mentally registered Danielle's name, but when he heard Elli whisper he turned his attention back to the couple they were discussing. He quickly came to the same conclusion, he coughed astonished.

That woman is pregnant with a half vampire baby!!!! Instinctively his muscles tightened. So much for staying under the radar, pretty soon this place is going to be an even bigger battleground. He stood up and left some money on the table and made his way past the counter and towards the door.

Danielle stared at the floor, and wiped her eyes before she could let any tears out. It was work, she should be working, focused, not thinking about this stuff... though, she couldn't keep it out of her head.

"I-I... I don't think so," she responded; there was nothing anyone could do. The proposal and a pregnancy could not be taken back.

And then came a whisper...

"This could be extremely bad."

"Huh?" Danielle said, aloud. She saw a look of silent almost-terror on her co-worker's face, and then she realized.

Their baby was a half-vampire, which meant a whole lot, especially in a town like this. Dave was in danger. Though Danielle wasn't too fond of her, so was Kimi, and especially their child. They seemed so blissfully oblivious to their obvious situation, however...

This could be the one thing that amplifies the T.V.'s and M.V.'s conflict into the worst it's ever been. This could turn their whole world upside down.
-----
Tommy spied out across the street. He couldn't see inside of the cafe, and he wasn't enough of a stalker to bring binoculars with him. Of course, that could have been more helpful... and it wasn't that great with his vision. He yawned, and crashed on the bed. He flipped on the television and browsed channels, though he was utterly uninterested. His mind was on Danielle. Her safety... and just her in general.

That weirdo in the truck... he never really trusted him much. Plus he was dating another girl, a vampire girl, for that matter. How she could fall for him was... well, beyond him. And it was a lot, watching her thinking of him all the time, knowing that it would be impossible to win her heart when she'd already given it away. That man didn't know who he was taking for granted.

But he was in love with someone else. Tommy couldn't imagine wanting anyone over Danielle. Sure, there had been a couple of other girls, but he'd never felt this way with anyone else but her. That was why he couldn't stand thinking of her getting hurt, in any possible way. Maybe it seemed overbearing, but he couldn't let anything happen to her.

He yawned and turned off the television, staring out the window again. He wondered how she was doing now.

And then he spotted the truck... that guy was there. He cringed slightly to himself. He hoped nothing was going on...

OOC: And who better to start a war than me! MUHAHAHAAHAHA!

-------

IC: Drusillus

Licking several drops of blood of his hand, the Varghulf stared blankly at the small gathering of vampires before him. His demonic eyes glowed as he took in each of the vampires in turn. A slow breath slipped from his lips.

"Can you smell it?"

The vampires looked to their master, confused. "Smell what, Lord?"

His eyes narrowed on the vampire who spoke, and a hiss rolled from the back of his throat. "The blood of a half." The vampires faces darkened at the word, disgust filling their features. "This half, cannot be allowed to survive, nor any half to continue surviving. Go into the city...slaughter any you find...but leave this child to me." The vampires vanished into the darkness, eager to please their infernal master.

"It has been far to long since I last tasted the blood of a half...I do think I'd like to enjoy it once more." Drusillus moved off into the darkness, his eyes pulsing with hunger.

Dave and Kimi left the cafe 10 minutes later. Dave looked over his shoulder and saw Danielle. He waved at her as he left. For some reason, she looked a little....well..put-out. Dave couldn't understand why. Dave turned his attention back to his fiance. "Should we go back to your place?"he asked. "Why not? I'll need some help unpacking too." Kimi replied, digging in her purse. She pulled out a small piece of paper. She handed it to Dave. "Here," She said,"I just remembered this. I think you'll like it." Dave looked at the paper. It was a picture of something. He couldn't make out what in the dark."What is it? I can't see in the dark like you can." He said, handing the picture back to Kimi as they walked. "Its an ultrasound done last week. Its kind of fuzzy, so the doctors couldn't make out if its just this baby or twins." Kimi said calmly. Twins?Dave thought,Twins? "Is that likely?" He asked, "That it would be twins?" "It could be, they couldn't tell." She replied.
They reached Dave's truck 4 minutes later. "Why did you park so far away?" Kimi asked, rubbing her stomach,"this baby isn't light, you know." "Sorry. It was all parking meters up by the cafe. I can carry you if you like." He said, pretending to be galant like a knight.
Kimi laughed and got into the truck. She paused in the middle of putting on her seat belt. "Dave, come here." she wispered urgently. Dave clambered into the truck, looking worried. "What is it? Are you okay?" he asked. "Yes just give me your hand." she said.
Dave gave him her hand. She placed it on her stomach. "What was that for?" he asked. Not that he minded this. Suddenly he felt something. Like someone was tapping on his hand, or giving him a high-five. Dave looked at kimi. She laughed. "Its way wierder for me." With that they drove off into the night.

(No one kill that baby, ya hear?)

"Alright. You may leave, but under a few conditions. You will come back here at 6:00, tomorrow. And perhaps a few more times."

And with that, Andrew untied the ropes bonding Charlotte to the couch, telling her to wait there. She did wait, but only because she was too weak to dart out of there without promising to return.

She heard him rummage around and then walk back out with a roll of bandages and medical tape. What a vampire like Andrew needed those for, she wasn't certain. She knew that he was too crafty to get himself staked like that.

He set them on the table and said, "Do what you must. I trust that you won't tell anyone what happened." She shook her head, no. She wasn't going to endanger anyone else by telling them anything And if anyone asked what all the blood on her shirt was from, she would tell them that dinner got messy.

"What happens," Charlotte asked, preparing to tape herself up. "If I don't come back here... at 6:00?" She knew that he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that she went back to the Traditionalist way of life, so he wouldn't be a failure.

Leonardo was closing in on the Cafe, swiftly jumping from building to building. "Spider man, spider man does whatever a spider can." he sung to himself, happily bounding along he was quite visible now, but he didn't mind if somebody caught sight of him, it just meant more work for the coppers to handle, and while he was working for them he didn't mind giving them a little minor trouble. Not one of his thoughts was on the mission at hand. Leonardo spotted a hotel just by the Cafe Au Lait. He received a mischievous smile. "No harm in spooking some guests on the way." he muttered, a little childishly. Leonardo began to speed up his stride he cut through the rain making spray from the roof top puddles, then came what seemed like a wall of stone, the hotel. "Showtime." he said with an evil grin. He jumped through the air, rolling into a ball, and flipped towards the side of the building, coming out of the ball at the last millisecond to plant both of his feet hard on the wall creating imprints from his shoes. He stood horizontally on the wall for a second, and then began to run up the wall. Impossible for humans, MVs, hell, even most TVs couldn't. It had took him years to master, but he had learned more than a few tricks for evasion over the years. He thumped up the side of the wall sending a spray of pebbles as he ran. He ran up a couple of stories before he reached the top, jumping upwards and grabbing the ledge, and then pulling himself up.

"How wonderful it is to be free!" he bellowed, and then grabbed onto his collar, and before he could even begin to pull he started to foam at the mouth, and then began to have muscle spasms. If one were to claim it looked dramatic, then they would be sorely mistaken, and they would be over come with a feeling of schadenfreude, then begin to laugh. His look of cartoonish surprise was quite comical as he began to flail on the wet ground of the hotel roof. Once his fingers had dislodged themselves from the colar, he lay flat without spasms, then a short spasm, then he could finally rest for a moment, then he stood up, sweat rolling down his face, who's pace was increased by the rain mixing in with it. He slowly got up, and brushed some hotel roof dust off of his clothes. "Note to self never try an remove-" Leonardo forgot what he was talking about for a moment. "The collar! The collar! Never remove the collar again!" he exclaimed, proud of himself for remembering. Then he walked slowly to the side of the hotel. He got on the ledge, turned around. "Leonardo Halse now takes the board, jumping for... Brazil. He will be preforming... whatever the hell he feels in the mood to do while he hurtles towards the earth." he said.

Leonardo closed his eyes then fell backwards, falling toward the earth. "I'm coming for your blood!" he yelled at the guests that he passed while he fell. He noticed a guy who was looking out the window, so he flashed his fangs, then flipped in the air, as he did not intend to land on his head, hitting the ground hard, and forming some cracks in the pavement below, landing in a crouch. Once he stood he took on the voice of an announcer he had once heard on the radio. "Perfect 10!" he yelled, then turned on his heel and began to walk away, kicking his feet high with every step, and he wore a huge smile on his face. "I am so awesome." he said to himself, coming out of the alley behind the hotel.

Leonardp noticed a couple in their beaten up truck. He pointed at them with both his fingers. "Comin' for your blood, drive safe!" he said, and then walked on towards the cafe. In about a minute he arrived still in his good humor, his mind also becoming more focused now, as he had a job to do, that only kept his mind from wandering a little bit though, and he would still come off as, well, insane. Once he arrived at the double cafe doors, drenched from head to toe, his long white hair plastered to his blood red coat, his eyes no longer matching the coat's color, because it was now so dark. His hat was dripping, but he still had his proud careless face on.

Leonardo kicked the double doors both flying open. "Make way for the fanciest man alive!" he exclaimed. This got him some weird looks for this that said. "What a d*****." He took no notice of these and walked with an air of command towards the counter where there were some stools and decided to sit in front of a waitress who was looking quite down. "If you get me a blood sub I'll let you tell me what's wrong, and I can try to listen. I might even pay for it." Leonardo said to her, only half kidding. He took off his hat and put it on the counter.

((Yes, Plague, you are the best. Cool XDD I promise I won't, ELC. XDD))

Tommy was slightly taken aback, hearing calls of what seemed to be a crazy man, running up, and then jumping of the building... he flashed his fangs at him, and he scowled as his theories were confirmed; the crazy man was a crazy vampire, who cracked the sidewalk as he landed, simply from all his power. He then ran toward the cafe...

The boy stood up, grabbing his bag, and putting a hooded windbreaker, something that would block the rain as well. And sunglasses, though it was night, and he could hardly see out there anyway... but city lights were bright enough, were they not?

He hurried out of his room, through a back exit, and ran across the street as soon as the pedestrian sign went on. He ducked into the cafe, taking a corner seat, and picking up a random newspaper...
------
Danielle waved half-heartedly back at Dave, and watched them leave. She was about to speak again, as a freakish-seeming vampire entered the cafe. After making his wild entrance, he came to the counter.

"If you get me a blood sub I'll let you tell me what's wrong, and I can try to listen. I might even pay for it."

"Umm... o-okay."

She made her way into the back, pulling out a few blood substitute drinks.

"What kind do you want?"

She wanted to do as he asked, because he seemed a little suspicious, and somewhat unstable... well, quite obviously unstable.
-------
Andrew had the items handy, just in case of something, anything happening. Simply because he wanted to be prepared for emergencies, though he never really believed he'd be in one.

He observed Charlotte as she prepped herself, and listened as she spoke.

"What happens... if I don't show up at 6:00?"

He wanted to threaten her again. It was, after all, very rightfully so that he would dispose of her if she...

Vampire blood, all over again.

"I'm not sure yet. I'd just advise you to show up. If not, I'll probably just track you down," he replied, not implying any full threat of repeating his previous actions at a fuller scale.

"I'm not sure yet. I'd just advise you to show up. If not, I'll probably just track you down." Charlotte didn't doubt that, although it did make her wonder why he had left her alone all those years. Maybe he had just wanted to forget about his 'mistake'. Act like she had never happened.

As Charlotte was bandaging herself up, she said, "I guess I'll be here at 6:00 tomorrow." And with that, she pulled the bandage tight, taped it up, and stood, ready to leave this place... until 6:00 tomorrow that was.

I'll just assume that when he says 6:00, it's going to be 6:00 in the morning. And if it isn't... too bad for him. It was very hard for Charlotte to keep a straight face after that thought. She couldn't wait to see the look on his face... he was going to be so mad! But hopefully not mad enough to stake her.

"Alright then," Andrew replied. He watched as she headed for the door, observing her to see if she would do anything questionable. He couldn't see her face any longer, so he could read her expression, though her cheek raised for a second, and he figured he should prepare for tommorrow. No more comments.

He shut the door behind her as soon as she was out, not waiting for her to get out. She'd better keep her promises. Andrew headed for his refrigerator again, filling up on the rest of his blood. He wiped his lips with a napkin, and tossed it way. He would need to go 'hunt' again tommorrow. Perhaps he'd drag Charlotte along... she wouldn't be willing to, but she needed to get back into this.

Leonardo had followed her with his eyes until she reached the back room. Though he was actually using his nose to pick up the scents of each of the people in the Cafe. He couldn't smell any TVs, but he could tell they had been here before, many times. He could tell that there were a decent number of MVs just as there were humans. It was interesting to see such a diverse mix of humans and MVs, like they could actually live together in peace. He snorted, it wouldn't last. He wondered which on of these people was his caddy, or "handler". All he knew was that he was an MV. Then he wondered about asking for a TV in his cell, because he wished very much to view more of the comical styling of Sokka. He then heard the waitress call out to him. "Um.... the tastiest one!" he called back. That was really his best answer, he didn't know what kinds of blood substitutes there were out there.

Tatiana took a quick glance outside, remembering that she was supposed to be working. Sighing, she put a book mark in her book. "Might as well get up and stretch," She muttered to herself. Tatiana glanced around the store to make sure all the valuables were hidden out of view.

She grabbed her bag, with her laptop inside. She flipped the sign in the front to closed and locked up. Huddling in her coat, she walked over to the cafe. "It's always busy in there. Maybe I'll have some human interaction." She sighed, then realized she was more likely to run into a vampire.

Tatiana trudged her way through the streets, suddenly feeling very lonely. She inhaled deeply and let it out slowly, while she entered the cafe. It never ceased to amaze her how nice it smelled in there. Taking a spot in the back of the line, she contemplated what she was going to get.

Jesse

Jesse had been about to exit the cafe when a crazy looking vampire bounded in. He didn't like the looks of him and sniffed the air. This vampire smelled in between a T.V and M.V, like the scent had been muted. Maybe it was his paranoia or his new found attraction towards the waitress whom the strange man had taken a seat in front of, he found himself sitting at a table closer to the front and checked his watch.

Who cares if I'm late to class. It's not like I'm in a rush.

Elouise

Elouise gave Danielle a small smile and went to take the next persons order.

The woman wanted a mochiatto, Elouise started to make it and was taken aback when the lady cleared her throat and asked in a small voice if someone else could make her coffee. Elouise just stared at her for a moment. "Fine, but between you and me, Danielle skimps on whipped cream," she said dropping the half filled cup in the trash. She followed her coworker to the back. "There's a lady up there who doesn't want a vamp making her mochiatto. So would you mind?" she asked half apologetic half annoyed.

She went back behind the counter and took a long calming swig of her chocolate.

Charlotte heard the door close quickly behind her. Well, at least he seemed to be as eager to get rid of her as she was to leave him.

The rain hitting her chest made Charlotte wince every so often, but she tried to ignore it as she walked home. She was walking as quickly as she could (which wasn't very fast, with her being injured and all...) away from the building that Andrew had taken her to. Soon enough, the building was out of sight, and Charlotte could breathe a little easier.

Ignoring all the places with humans and vampires in them, she walked home, attempting to look normal. Like she hadn't almost been staked to death, only to have her attempted murderer give her another chance. Which was very strange. Especially when you considered that it was Andrew. Well, the fact that he had tried to kill her wasn't weird, but letting her go? That was definitely not him.

Danielle handed a CellsPlus to the strange vampire who asked about her problems, before realizing he probably had enough energy to begin with.

"That'll be... $3.05," she replied to the man. It was strange; his hair was white, but he still had the appearance of a vampire who had either been born or changed before 25. But it didn't take away from his looks. He was ridiculously tall, and there was that crazy, and slightly rebellious look in his eye, but other than that, his features gave him away as a vampire.

"...Fine, but between you and me, Danielle skimps on whipped cream," Danielle heard her co-worker slightly snidely reply to a disrespectful customer.

"There's a lady up there who doesn't want a vamp making her mochiatto. So would you mind?"

She nodded, and replied, "No problem."

The girl almost glared at the woman, but pasted on her "customer is always right", though the saying didn't always ring true, face and made her mochiatto.

"Here you go. That'll be $4.27," said Danielle, adding on an extra $0.02. Very conveniently for her, the price for the size the woman ordered wasn't listed on the board above her.
----
Tommy observed Danielle from behind the paper, his sunglasses on the top of his head now. She fortunately had not yet noticed him... it didn't seem that the crazy vampire had attacked him, but the surroundings were discomforting... she was right; there were a lot of vampires there. He knew his bag had weapons in it, and it would suck if one of them found out... but beyond that, he didn't even like being around vampires... at all...
---
A couple of fearful humans avoided the vampire girl with the very bloody-looking shirt, assuming she could be after them. Some M.V.'s sympathized, and others knew it wasn't human blood that was on her... some assumed she'd committed the act, some knew better, but didn't approach her. Traditionalists who were actively present only gave her their disgust. It didn't matter what she'd down or what had happened to her; she was an MV, with the blood of a vampire upon her... she hardly was one.

A seemingly-Modernist Vampire walked up to her; one could never know what a person thought in the night. Everyone tried to blend in, it seemed.

"What happened to you?" asked the female vampire, who appeared genuinely concerned. Staking a vampire, and not succeeding, was an attempted murder. And it seemed like she hadn't done this herself. Her blood was obviously her own. Some people were just so ignorant. She appeared to be a couple of years older than the girl.

OOC: What can I say. I radiate awesome. I make no promises on baby killing, however.

-------

IC: Drusillus

The door opened, the bell ringing to announce the arrival of a new customer. A few faces looked to the newcomer, before returning to their business quietly. The man's deep red hair was strangly dry for one coming from the hail of water outside, but no paid it much mind. His eyes drifted about the cafe, quietly taking in the smells of the numerous humans and vampires in the room.

Would the vampires know what he was? Perhaps...

Quietly taking a seat, the Varghulf stared blankly at the girls behind the counter, commiting their faces to memory. They would know where the half was...they would most likely need to be convinced, however.

A simple problem, but one that would need to be remedied later. It would not do to draw to much attention to himself so soon.

Charlotte turned slightly toward the voice that was full of concern. She saw a woman who seemed to be a couple years older than herself looking at her with concern.

"I... had some problems with dinner." It was probably the most pathetic lie Charlotte had ever told, but she knew she couldn't tell anyone what had happened. It was between her and Andrew. Nobody else needed to know, and she was determined to keep it that way.

She turned, determined to make it back to her apartment without anymore interrogations, any more questions. Though she knew it wouldn't happen. All Charlotte really wanted at the moment was the peace and quiet of her home, not sympathetic, disgusted, or scared looks coming her way. Just peace.
