"Um...can I have a regular coffee please? Two shots of hazelnut and one cream."

Elouise looked up from her drawing, to see the boy who had been spying on Danielle earlier standing at the counter. "Sure." She laid down her pencil and went to the coffee maker, but when she pressed the button nothing came out. "Oh shoot. I forgot to brew more coffee." She quickly opened the top and poured more coffee beans in. She pressed the "Brew" button and walked back to Tommy. "I'm really sorry, but you'll have to wait a moment." She put her hands on her hips. "So you know Danielle huh?" She asked trying to make conversation.

Tommy watched Elli nervously as she walked back to make his coffee, as he realized he'd be at the counter, for longer than he would have wished. He shifted uncomfortably, and stared at the counter and the vampire girl's drawing of the coffee cup.

..."So you know Danielle, huh?"

It seemed to be an attempt to start conversation.

"Uh... yeah," he muttered, quietly. "We're... um, friends..."

He averted his gaze to anywhere but the vampire herself...

Leonardo continued to smile at her. "Leonardo Halse, charmed." he said, extending his hand warmly. "By the way, you never did tell me what had you down." he added, spinning the blood sub bottle on the table. If he wasn't going to drink it, it might as well serve as a tool of his enjoyment. "If you don't mind that is." he added. When another man entered the room Leonardo sniffed the air. TV, no doubt about it. "You might want to stay away from him too." he said, and tilted his head towards the new TV.

Elouise sighed as she noticed his reaction to her. I hate it when people look at me like that...or rather don't look at me. It's not like they have a reason to be scared. Well..I do have fangs and such so....but still. She mentally shrugged.

"You know I'm not going to bite you right?" she asked slightly sarcastic.

Danielle accepted his hand, and nodded. "I guess it's... er, nice to meet you, Leonardo," she replied, laughing a slight bit to herself. She watched as blood sub bottle spun on his table. What had her down... she took a deep breath as she prepared to tell, but then he spoke again, twice.

She glanced behind her, at the vampire who'd positioned himself a few tables away. She nodded once again. "I suppose so... w-well, if you're really interested, I'll talk, but..." the girl said, biting her lip, not knowing what exactly she should say. It wasn't exactly the most wonderful topic. And it could cause a lot of contraversy... and it certainly wasn't so great for herself. But she should just say it anyway... or not...

"Well, there was this guy..." she began.

Not the greatest way to start a conversation with a guy...

"You know I'm not going to bite you, right?"

Tommy winced. "Sorry," he mumbled. Are you really apologizing for that?!... maybe Danielle's right, maybe you are just a little too paranoid... but it's not just guy vampires anyone needs to worry about... and not just TV's either...

"Um... that's a nice drawing, there," he said, motioning toward the sketch on the counter.

"Sorry,"

Elouise mentally chastised herself. Come on El, have some feeling, the guy is nervous enough as it is what with all the vamps in here. You just had to go and make him even more uncomfortable. I wonder why he doesn't just leave. It's because of Danielle isn't it. Oh, that's sweet.

"Um... that's a nice drawing, there,"

"Huh?" Elli snapped out of her mental conversation. "Oh, thanks. I can do better though, I'm just trying to pick a subject for my still life." She sighed, the coffee cup just wasn't working for her. "I'm thinking I'll pick something else though. A coffee cup is just too 2 dimensional," she finished emphasizing her point with her hands.

"There's always a guy." said Leonardo, who had now stopped spinning the bottle and was leaned in a little closer so he could hear her. "Sorry, I've now thrice, uh... frice? Yeah Frice interrupted. Please, go on." he said apologetically, while desticking his long hair from the back of his jacket, as it was now finally beginning to dry. He smiled at her, and gave her all his attention now, his arms folded on the table in front of him and holding himself up.

Tommy noticed the pause between Elli's response, noticing the way she seemed to be sort of deep in thought, like the was having a mental conversation with herself....

He shrugged. "Yeah, I guess. It's still nice though," he replied. He glanced over at the coffee machine behind her, trying to see how finished it was. He just wanted the caffeine to stay here until Danielle finished her shift.

Danielle laughed a little, for Leonardo's "frice" interruption. He now geared himself up to listen to her. She sort of liked this, how someone wanted to hear what she had to say so much. And the way he paid attention the way he did.

"Well, yeah, this guy, Dave, I liked him, and he just proposed to his girlfriend, and I think she was... well... umm... with child, well, and I was really miserable about it, before realizing the fact that he was a human, and she was a vampire, and now they might all be in danger."

Now that's saying too much if I've ever heard it...

Andrew heard the girl from two tables away. That was certainly a mistake of hers. She revealed one name. Perhaps the proposal didn't change their location, but the more information, the better. Such a stupid, emotional human. And what a trust of vampires... the presence of "traditionalists" didn't faze (sp?) her as much as most... hm... tommorrow, maybe he could return here, after her shift. But that would mostly depend on Charlotte...

"Yeah, I guess. It's still nice though."

"Thanks." The coffee machine behind Elouise clicked, signaling it was done. She smiled at him and turned away to make his coffee. She could tell he was impatient, so she was quick, and handed him the cup. "By the way," she leaned a little closer to him and whispered,"You need to work on your spy skills."

Jesse had finished his second coffee and seeing as nothing had gone horribly wrong in the last hour or so he decided he could go to his class. He left a tip on the table and walked out into the drizzly night.

"Ooooo. That's a rough one, and believe me I know rough love stories." Leonardo replied, and looked down for a moment, and breathed like he had been it, as if to demonstrate how it must have felt, if it were divided by a million, or so. While he sympathized with her he took in the account of a half blood, and Drucillius sitting all but too close. He already knew about it, and he had come here to take out the baby personally, and the parents. Oh yeah, he would be spending a lot of time here. "This is pretty serious. But still, I can't help but wonder, how you feel about it, I mean, if you remove baby from the factor." he said. "I mean, sure, the baby thing is a crisis waiting to happen, but it'll be one statistic for everybody else. So as a person, right now, how do you feel about Dave and his fiance?" he asked, looking her in the eye.

Tommy noticed how the vampire girl was very perceptive... he saw the way she fixed the coffee quickly. And then all of a sudden she leaned close and whispered... it was very uncomfortable, but he didn't protest as she told him simply to work on his spy skills.

"Heh, yeah, maybe," he said, smiling weakly. "Thanks."

He handed her the money needed for his coffee, exact change, exchanged it for his coffee, and headed back to his seat.

Danielle watched Leonardo carefully as he seemed to process the information she had given him. And then all of a sudden he looked up.

"I mean, sure, the baby thing is a crisis waiting to happen, but it'll be one statistic for everybody else. So as a person, right now, how do you feel about Dave and his fiance?"

He stared right into her eyes, and she almost averted her gaze, but couldn't.

"W-Well... I guess... well, it kind of just sucks for me. I mean, I really, really liked him. But I guess I should have seen it coming... I mean, they've known each other for way longer than I'd known him," she said. "And I knew his gi_, well, now fiance," Danielle corrected herself, feeling a slight pang at the word. "...was coming home from her photography trip soon, but I just thought..." she sighed.

"Well, I stupidly thought I could have had a chance. But now that I think about it, that would have probably been the worst thing for him..."

You didn't have a chance... you should just be happy for him if he's happy... he was in love... before he met you, and you should have just left him alone...

Andrew paid very close attention, mentally taking notes. This was just a gold mine of information, though not all necessary. Yes, this was wonderful...

Elouise took the money and put it in the cash register. She noticed Danielle talking to Leonardo, she felt bad for her. Though she had never experienced heartbreak, or love for that matter, she knew that it must be rotten. She remembered her short conversation with Tommy. Danielle may be hurting now, but one day she'll have someone special.

This made her think of the couple who were the cause of Danielle's pain. I'll bet that woman is incredibly happy. She thought about her boyfriendless existence. To love and be loved like that, what that must be like She sighed and brushed a few coffee beans off the counter.

Andrew was very appreciative that he didn't have problems such as these. Even Traditionalist Vampires dealt with this stuff, and it was one area he tried very hard to avoid. But after certain recent thoughts, he wasn't so sure about it now...

There were quite a few differences between TV's who were individual, single, etc. They would do what they wanted with humans and then finish them off... usually... and normally there were no problems with that. Many never wanted to settle down. But Traditionalist Vampires who were together, would hunt together, share together, then they would carry on the Traditionalist ways with a child and teach them all the things they needed to know to be an effecient vampire. His parents had done a wonderful job. Though he now didn't keep contact with them, especially after they went Modernist... he was disgusted by them, like all Traditionalists...

And there was that vampire blood, once again. He could almost smell it.

So what...? They aren't the same...

Different... a different life.

He continued listening to the conversation, though he was now distracted by his own pondering...

Tommy watched Danielle and Leonardo cautiously... they were leaning too close... she seemed so sad... it was probably about Dave... how could anyone choose someone over her? Regardless, it seemed she'd perhaps found someone else, herself...

Leonardo put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey now. It wasn't stupid. He's the stupid one for leaving a pretty girl like you behind." he said and smiled at her, trying to comfort her. (I know it's short, will edit.)

Drusillus rose from his seat, and casually deposited his empty cup in the garbage can. The Varghulf calmly pulled a bill from his pocket, and placed it infront of Danielle. "I hope you feel better soon, miss." He gave her a smile, before patting Leonardo on the shoulder. "It was good to see you again, Leo. Let's have drinks sometime soon."

The Varghulf moved towards the door, looking to Tommy as he passed the human. "Have a nice night." He gave a curt wave, before pushing open the door and stepping into the rain.

Dave spent the next hour helping his fiance unpack. Kimi took every piece of clothing out of her suitcase and put it neatly folded, into a box. "Whats that for?" Dave asked. "Well, only maternity close fit right now, so I guess I won't need these for another 4 months." Kimi replied, folding a ruffled blouse.
Once Kimi's clothes were put away, she brought Dave to the door of the spare room. Dave had slept in the spare bed many times before, when he needed a place to stay. (Other than his truck of course.) It was usually in the winter that he lived with Kimi. "So, um, now that were engaged, will I be sleeping in here, or your bed?" he asked. Kimi started at him. "No duh you'll be sleeping with me." she smirked and opened the door. Dave gasped. The whole room had been cleared out. Everything replaced with boxes. Very wierd looking boxes...."Kimi, whats all this stuff for?" he asked, looking through all the boxes. Kimi laughed, "This is the baby's room now. I had some friends clear it out while I was gone." she kept laughing. Dave felt so dumb. He looked down at the box he was touching. It was the box for a crib. Boy am I in for it now..... He thought.

The Smell hit Kimi like a ton of bricks that night. Dave was trying to figure out the crib instructions, while she made some spagetti. What is that smell? It wasn't the smell of humans, she knew that too well. And it wasn't vampire either....It was sort of..a combination of the two........Kimi gasped. Its the baby. she thought looking down at her stomach. She put her hand on it absently. It smelled so good, like when Dave stayed here, his room smelled kind of like this....Dave smelled like motor oil though...so it wasn't as good.

(LOL motor oil)

Danielle smiled weakly back at Leonardo, almost blushing at his comment. She did feel comforted by him, however. She almost liked this, though she could hardly believe that Dave was now engaged. She glanced up for a second, when "Drew" appeared. "Thank you," she said, accepting the bill, intending on handing it in after her conversation with Leonardo was completed.

Tommy watched Danielle and Leonardo, glaring at the vampire as he put his hand on her shoulder. And she smiled, weakly, but a smile nonetheless. He wished he could do just as much for her. Now he cringed slightly as the vampire acknowledged him. He knew that there would be many issues with this place after tonight. And yet, he'd have to keep coming back.

Leonardo heard Drucillius from behind his back. "Oh you know I'm off the "sauce" now, one sip would just kill me." he said, with a slightly hinting tone in his voice.

Then Leonardo returned his attention to Danielle. "Look at you all smiley, and is that a blush I see?" he said, pointing at her cheeks. He said, a little teasingly, but he smiled at her. "The bottom line is you are a wonderful girl who started casing after a man who was already in love. That's just something you can't stop, no matter how sweet and kind you are, love is an unbreakable bond, otherwise it ain't love." Leonardo said to the heartbroken girl.

Danielle waited patiently as Leonardo spoke to the other vampire, after he left... well, it was good to know he wasn't a Traditionalist, at least, not anymore. She glanced back over at him, as he spoke once again. This time, she did blush, as he playfully teased her. Danielle listened carefully to what he had to say, and then realized... perhaps he was right... memories of her and Dave came in, but then left quickly. Being with him did make her forget her troubles, even if she wasn't angry.

"Yeah... I guess you're right," she said, smiling a little more genuinely now, though she was still a little discontent from her former situation. But she felt quite a bit better now.

"Thanks... for talking with me. If there's anything else I can do for you to pay you back..." she said, cutting off.

Tommy shifted in his chair, sipping his coffee. It seemed as though Danielle would talk to this vampire man all night... he kept his case close to him, and then stared down at the table, feeling somewhat melancholy. He wanted her safe... and he wanted her... that's probably how she felt about the truck guy. It must have sucked for her... he wished he could be the guy sitting across from her now, saying all the right words. Except, he would never wish to be a vampire, to have to live that destructive life. He hated all those who did what they'd done to him...

He had to get her away from him.

"Not a thing, your smile was payment enough thanks." Leonardo said warmly. "If you need to talk to somebody though, I'm just sitting here waiting for somebody myself, so when you don't have any biscotti to give around, I'm open for a good chat with a pretty girl, and I don't mean your co worker Danielle." he said smiling. It was odd how focused his thoughts were around her. He seemed less prone to wandering off. He placed his hat on his head, it was somewhat dry now. He sensed the stalker boy wasn't very pleased at the moment. "Now go talk to one of the guys droolin' over you." he said once again teasingly.

She's happy... leave her alone... thought Tommy, catching himself after his first thought. But she's in danger... so, her co-worker didn't do anything to you... yeah, well, neither did... her... until...

He caught himself again, and sighed deeply. He could let this go for a little bit... if things started getting weirder, he'd do something...

Stop blushing, Danielle! You're like one of those cheesy anime girls...

"Y-You're welcome. I've got to thank you again. I'd... I'd love to talk to you again sometime. Soon," she said, smiling back at him.

"Oh, alright."

The significantly-cheerier girl put the money she'd received into the cash register. "Hey, Elli, I think I'm going to take my break..." she said, now officially announcing that, although she'd been basically doing so while she was speaking with Leonardo. With that, she strode over to the boy at the window table.

"Hey. What's up?"

"Um... not... much. How are you? It seems like... you were talking about... really important stuff over there," Tommy replied, glancing up at Danielle. She was most definitely beautiful. Stupid Dave didn't know what he was missing now.

But apparently the vampire knew what he was.

"Yeah... just... some stuff. I'm better now, though. Shouldn't you be heading home? Or... what are you doing with that bag there?"

Danielle didn't even seem to trust him enough to talk with him about whatever was going on... or, at least not now...

"Um, well... I'm just staying over at a... friend's place."

"Oh really, now? And so you ditch them for a few hours at a coffee shop? What do you even have in there..."

"Just clothes and normal stuff, you know. Don't worry about it."

"Yeah, right. Let me see it."

"And you call me paranoid."

Tommy watched Danielle cross her arms, the way she did when she was angry and impatient.

"Why can't I see it? What have you got to hide?"

"Hey, Elli, I think I'm going to take my break..."

Elouise nodded in response. She watched Danielle start talking to Tommy. She was suddenly struck by how ironic it was that Tommy loved Danielle, while she loved Dave. They both were hurt doing the exact same thing.

She noticed the clock, it was 11:11. She crossed her fingers and closed her eyes and wished that both Danielle and Tommy would find someone special.

Age: 18

Appearance: Kalypso is about 5’9”, long-legged and average weight, with just below shoulder-length, pin-straight, almost black brown hair. She has straight-across bangs that rest an inch above her big dark brown eyes. Her skin is light brown, she has full lips and long lashes. She usually wears jeans, boots, a fitted t-shirt and a hoodie.

Personality: She is usually sarcastic and witty, though she seldom says things without thinking about them first. She is calm and she is docile in the presence of authority. She is cautious and does not trust easily, but she puts on a happy face when she’s around people and is kind to others. She doesn’t make close emotional bonds unless she feels safe enough to open up to the person. It is hard to get her angry, but when someone manages to do so, her calm attitude gives way to a loud and sometimes violent one.

History: Kalypso learned Spanish and English at the same time, because of her American father and Dominican mother. When she was about 8 years old, her father died of cancer and her mother started to work full hours to sustain their lifestyle. Each promotion caused another move and her most recent one was to Midnight Heights, in the ninth grade. Her mother promised that they wouldn’t move again. Kal has always had issues with her name and one of her pet peeves is when people tease her about it. She got in trouble for punching a boy in the nose in fifth grade for making fun of her for two weeks straight about it. Kal’s mother has a high paying job in an office now and has spent only a few hours a day at home for the last four years, so Kal and her mom don’t talk too much. Her mother tries to make up for it by buying her things and Kal doesn’t have a problem with it, but she misses quality time with her mom. Vampires, MV or otherwise, make her a little nervous, but she never lets it show and is sure never to prejudge them.

Other: Kalypso does martial arts and has a horse, who she loves and competes in shows with. She doesn’t work because she doesn’t have to.

"Nothing," Tommy replied, a little too fast.

"Yes, you do. You suck at lying, I know there's something in there..."

Danielle snatched up the traveling case and dug through it, careful not to reveal the contents to anyone but herself in the cafe. Clothes and toiletries made up most of it, but then she discovered something that made her jaw drop a little. She looked at him with a look of pure anger in her eyes, and zipped up the bag again quickly.

Elli's wish certainly would not pertain to Danielle and Tommy being each other's "special" person. Not now, at least.

"I cannot believe you. How could you do something so idiotic, so... I mean, I knew you had a problem with them, but... this?!"

Tommy swallowed. "K-Keep it down, Danielle, please?"

"Keep it down?"

Her voice raised at the words.

"Please... I-I... I wasn't planning on using them, just if you got attacked or something..."

"Oh gosh, Tommy, you are hopeless. Please. Everything's fine here, don't worry, for the last time, please. If you got caught with these by the law, you could be in jail right now. Go home, Tommy. Or wherever you're supposed to be at right now. Please."

He nodded, feeling rather ashamed and more so rejected, though the concerns of Danielle were not of her, but of his thoughts, and what she found to be his extremism.

"Alright. Bye. Good night."

"Good night."

Her arms were still crossed, as he gathered his things, and laid down a 10 for a tip. She sighed, and bit her lip. Well... it wasn't harsh, what she'd said... this was going waaay too far.
