In Their Eyes (rated T; WIP for plotline; current members can continue RPing)

In an alternate USA, there are two groups divided--the Majority, and the Minority, who have been fighting a war against each other for many years over what could have started over land and/or livestock, and grown into a full-out national battle that goes on violently for revenge against and power over the other group. There are full militias of Majority and Minority, and then smaller-scale, but still powerful, rebellious, and violent, gangs of each group.
Originally, four teens came together, to do what they could to fight the Majority, three of them affected directly by the war and its effects.
Hikaro, a former leader of a gang, whose parents were killed by Majority, and who was seperated from his older sister who joined an anti-Majority gang while he was too young to join. Taryn, whose father was killed by a Majority man, and whose brother ran off to join the Minority forces. Troy, whose father was an important Majority leader, an evil, conscienceless, sadistic man that Troy would do everything not to follow, who leads and houses Majority forces on the edge of the town Pike Springs. And Kimura, who cares for those around her. Each teen had things in their pasts that haunted them--great loss, great violence, unspeakable pain. And the fateful night, when Pike Springs was set ablaze, more of their shrinking families lost, glued them together, for better or worse.
Janie, Kimura's older sister joins them, and Mahri, Taryn's little sister, who is sent to live with her godmother,

back at him. He knew it wasn't as sincere as it could be, but
the entire room now put him in a dismal mood. Amie seemed
so... lost, distant now. Her thoughts were consumed by

He took Kuchiyo's former spot next to her. He felt terrible
now, seeing her like this... he wondered what would have
happened if he had just traded with her again.

Amie couldn't seem to look at him. "A-Amie? Are you okay?" he
asked her, quietly. She seemed to shake slightly, streams
coming down her face now, her eyes squeezed shut, trying to
hold them back. She almost shook her head, but resisted.

"I-I... K-Kyle... y-you can... c-come back... l-later...
I'm... s-sorry," she whispered, sniffing slightly. Kyle nodded
weakly, wincing himself and started heading for the door with
the nurse.

"I think you need some rest, Miss Johnson," she said to her,
before starting out the door with Kyle back to his room. He
stared at the floor on the way back. The nurse didn't know
what to say; hopefully she'd be going home tonight for her
family...

Alex was overpowered by his survival instinct. He was starving, whether his human body showed it or not. He was unfamiliar with the feeling of being light-headed and when his head started to feel fizzy, he morphed back into a snake. It took too much energy to stay human. Kuchiyo slithered along, staying a larger, more intimidating snake. A viper. He slithered down the shaft of the freight elevator and sat very still, listening for the sound of skittering rodents' feet...

A small rat skittered across the floor of the shaft, having recently entered the building from the cold outside. It thought it had found refuge, but its fate was far from it...

Troy walked into the bathroom and prepared for the day. He peered out of the door, looking at the bag that the supplies that Taryn had bought for the group were. He wondered if he should finish his disguise now or later... he wondered how he should disguise himself for the next day. He swallowed. It would be best to keep that out of his mind, but he knew he could not. The day would move by unbearably fast when everyone got together... and before they knew it, they'd be back in the Majority capital.

The Next Day [aka SUPERUBERTIMESKIPGOOO.]

Taryn's stomach jumped as the plane descended toward the Logan Airport runway. She still hated planes. And she hated this plane even more than all of the others. Partially because it had been a part of the plane ride from h*ll, complete with turbulance, lightning and no peanuts; and partially because of the reason that they were on it.

Maximus was a few seats behind Taryn in the other aisle, laughing slightly at her expression when the plane thumped to release its landing gear. It looked sort of like she wanted to tear the wings of the plane and sort of like she needed some coffee. He stopped after receiving a very unamused glare. He adjusted his glasses and watched as the plane landed on the runway.

Mahri was sleeping. And it was better that she wasn't awake, so that she wasn't thinking about the day's coming events.

Kuzai looked grim. He watched in silence as the plane landed and the pilot's speech came through to him only in pieces, announcing the weather and telling them to enjoy their time in Boston.

"We hope you have a pleasant day."

Troy gave Taryn's hand a gentle squeeze as the plane began to land. He could easily sense her discomfort and frustration at the plane, knowing that the ride had sucked for her... he knew she hated planes. But they were alright now, they were landing. And today was the day... unfortunately. The brown contacts he wore were slightly uncomfortable, but there was nothing he could do about it, and it was weird to have brown bangs out of his face. This was it... their last chance... they had to make it through this. Or... else. He tried to keep his mind off of it on the ride over, sleeping, reading, even nervous conversation. But now that they'd landed, and the obnoxious pilot announcement confirmed where they were, there was absolutely no way to get it out of his head.

Kate stared out, trying to decipher all of the confusing visions and messages she was getting. Her short, now-white-ish blonde hair may have physically made her "head" lighter, but the inside was filled to the brim with whatever it could be. Sometimes she got flashes of blood and conflict. Sometimes she got strange discussions, between the key players of this life-or-death game they were about to enter again.

Kainni sat next to Maximus, seeing the amused look on his face at the appearance of Taryn.

Passengers began to stand...

Taryn smiled weakly up at Troy. It was rather odd not to see his bangs in his face. He looked like a different person. But that's the point, she reminded herself. She stood up and opened the overhead compartment. Unfortunately her luggage had shifted during flight and it fell onto her head. "Ow." Perfect ending to a perfect plane ride. She grabbed it and slung it over her shoulder, starting to walk off the plane.

Kuzai retrieved his bag and headed off the plane, relieved to be on the ground again. Mahri followed him, backpack in tow.

Maximus smiled at Kainni and said, "Let's go," nodding toward the front of the plane.

Troy smiled back at her, trying to be reassuring, but failing miserably. He winced as luggage fell onto Taryn's head. "I'm sorry..." he mumbled, as they walked out of the airplane. He slipped his other hand into his pants pocket, feeling the smooth plastic of his fake ID... he desperately hoped everything would work out well for them.

Kate followed the two out of the airplane, carrying her bag, blowing the bangs out of her face. There was a burst of cold air at the crack between the attached hallway and the airplane, which lasted throughout the entire hall. The skirt she wore, even with leggings, didn't help this at all.

Kainni followed along with Maximus, wondering what was to come...

Taryn looked up at Troy briefly, "It's okay." Her gaze returned to the ground. The pathway to the gate was almost freezing because of the draft from the space between the plane and the portable hallway. Taryn had had to hold down her skirt to avoid a Marilyn Monroe moment as she exitted the plane. She started toward a down escalator, toward the luggage carousel.

Kuzai and Mahri got off the plane, walking briskly onto the gate. Mahri was getting well into her character. Her face was almost devoid of emotion, other than the slight 'don't mess' look in her eyes.

Kyle sat up in his bed, slightly numb and dazed from medicines that kept the pain of his injuries from getting to him entirely. Yet something kept him very sharply awake. He had the nurse turn on his TV from the moment he'd been up, and he wasn't going to take his eyes away from it... he made sure he had access to a phone.

Christmas had been uneventful. After the time in Amie's room, he'd come here, and slept, most of the day... he tried to keep the ache from all the family they didn't have not being there, tried not to think of the condition his sister was currently in... sleeping eased that quite a bit.

Today, though, he felt almost panicked, thinking of the others... where they were at right now. What was going to happen today. No one knew what was coming for them.

Troy followed right behind her. The draft was slightly obnoxious, as they exitted the plane. He thought about the things they'd brought with them, as soon as they reached the luggage carousel; not much. They only had a few extra bags... plus everything had been extremely expensive...

Mahri was trying her best not to think about anything in the future or in the past. Only what was happening at the very moment. She didn't want to freak herself out... The previous night, she'd sobbed hysterically out of fear of the events of the coming days. She was so afraid of the Majority. Afraid because of what they'd done to her... done to Laura...

She and Kuzai followed Taryn and Troy down to the luggage carousel. Kuzai had numbed himself to this whole situation. He was in battle mode. There was no time for fear.

Taryn knew that they couldn't bring much. But they did need some things. She waited for everyone to catch up. She called the Four Seasons and called for a taxi van to take everyone to the hotel. And from there to the business district for the meeting. Taryn breathed deeply and plastered on a convincing calm and happy face. No need to look worried.

Troy knew everything was perfectly prepared for them today... the hotel, the meeting. But he wasn't sure if he himself was ready. And that was definitely a problem. He drew in a deep breath, and released it, imitating Taryn's look of calm, and trying to make himself reassured. Everything probably wouldn't go as planned; no doubt it wouldn't. But they were going to have to be ready for anything...
