This Is My Life (Started but still Accepting)

Ken

Ken sighed and breathed in deeply, trying to calm himself. "Ok, regardless if I believe you or not, my mom won't let you stay here," he said, crossing his arms. "Ok, how do I access this magic, it's the only way I can believe all this."

Yua shrugged. "It'll probably be activated if I'm in danger from the magical beings that are going to be sent after me. But I'm not sure. And I'm very good at hiding."

Ken

"Ok, there's a shelter a couple of blocks from here, I'll escort you there, you'll be safe there," Ken said. He walked over to his mom's door, and yelled, "Mom, I'm taking Yua home, I'll be back later!" He walked back over to Yua and said, "C'mon."

Yua followed Ken, wanting to protest. She secretly wished that she would be attacked, just to prove that she was right, but of course that wouldn't be good. Still Yua didn't say anything. She could follow him home easily after he "dropped her off". Maybe he was just trying to make his mother believe she was gone. It seemed like the most likely thing.

Ni'Usa wrinkled her nose in disgust. Humans were such pathetic creatures. She scanned the area, but didn't see a sign of Yua. And since she didn't have tracking abilities, she waited for the others. Once she got a location, Ni'Usa would go there, get Yua and return.

Ken

Outside, Ken began walking, seeing that Yua was behind her. If Dylan knew about this, he'd probably laugh his head off, and say that he had a stalker now. And to think that the most I had to worry about today was Chad before I ran into this girl, he thought bitterly.

Nara

"Hey, snob, you should wait for me before you take off, else I might not be able to find you and save your sorry butt," Nara said, coming up beside Ni'Usa. Of course he could find her if he wanted, he had the best trackers anywhere, as well as every other kind of animal. "I think the other one's trailing behind me, not sure though. Didn't bother to check."

Rioghnan followed his two partners through the portal and looked around. "Why did you stop?" Rio asked in an uncaring tone as he looked down at the other two magical beings. "I suppose they wont be able to do anything alone....I shouldv'e known."

Rory walked down the street when she noticed Ken walking in the opposite direction. She was about call out to him when she noticed the girl with him. "Who's she.....wouldn't Dylan have told me if Kenny had a girlfriend? No, no I suppose he wouldn't." Rory realized as her face and mood fell. "I guess I might as well give his mom the pie, he'll eat it later at least." She decided as she began to head towards the Ridger home again, this time much more slowly and hesitantly then before.

Nara

"Waitin' for the slow poke keeping us up," Nara said, crossing his arms. "You two just sit back and don't cause any trouble, I'll get this girl for the Heads here and now." He moved back from the two of them and placed his hands, one on top of the other, on the surface and began to chant. A glowing green circle appeared around it, and then a few feet away a larger circle appeared, and after a few more seconds, a demonic-looking creature stoo there, growling and hissing.

It had the head of a dog mixed in with that of a snake, a serpentine body with four limbs coming out, ending with paws, and a snake-like tail covered in fur. It bared it's fangs, two looking longer and more dangerous than the others. "Meet my favorite pet, the viperhound. A master of tracking, it has the sense of smell and hearing of a hound, and the ability to sense heat like a snake. If it can't find the girl, nothing can. And this should be easy enough, this magicless world doesn't smell the same, it should be drawn straight to her."

Nara gave an evil smile and commanded, "Kura, find magic." The viperhound barked and leapt, running toward the closest source of magic. "Come on, don't fall behind, if you want any credit," Nara said, racing after his pet.

Rioghnan rolled his eyes before quickly running and jumping after and then ahead of Nara. "Hmm, he's very cocky if he told us to keep up and then it turns out that he's actually not very fast at all." The assassin decided as he ran beside the viperhound.

Ni'Usa didn't say anything, but followed the two. She smirked inwards. She was going to get the girl. No way were these two idiots actually capable of getting her, even if they could find her. Ni'Usa was prepared to face her too. She wasn't sure of her powers too much. Ni'Usa was told about them, but she wasn't sure how Yua fought. But she knew nothing she did would stop her. Ni'Usa would get the girl and be back as the Heads favorite soon enough.

Yua followed Ken, looking around the area. It was such an unique place that he lived in. Unlike home all different cultures made one area there place. Yua wondered why they did not get into fights all the time, but she didn't ask Ken.

Ken/Nara

About a block from the shelter Ken stopped as he heard barking nearby, from an alley. "Uh oh, stay back, it sounds like a rabid dog," he said, and backed up as the barking got louder, and suddenly the meanest looking dog he ever saw burst from the alley, and ran at them. "Agh," Ken yelled, but the dog stopped a few inches from him, and growled. "Good girl, Kura," Nara said as he appeared from the alley, looking toward the dog. "Hey, I think the girl's got herself a human for a pet now," he shouted to the other two, and grinned.

Yua knew what it was when she heard the barking. It was no rabid dog. That meant only one thing.

"Ken they found me!"

Yua grabbed onto Ken's arm. She knew he would protect her. And if he had trouble, Yua was more than prepared to help him out.

"Why isn't it Yua. What are you doing with the humans? They're so pathetic," Ni'Usa teased.

Rioghnan looked at the boy with pity before nodding in reply to Nara's comment. "So Reyuantye had to pull someone else into this, she surely must have known that dragging a human into her own problems would just result in the boy's own death." Rio pondered before he transferred his gaze to Yua, this time the look was with disgust rather then pity.

"Do you really intend to let this boy die because of your mistakes Yua? Let him go, he has no business fighting for you."

"Of course we probably kill him anyways," Ni'Usa cried with a laugh. "After all it won't be good to have tons of humans wandering around knowing about magic and us. But if you come with us, we'll be sure to make his death painless unlike yours."

"No! I'm not going to come. I know Ken will protect me. Humans are stronger than you think and this one is special," Yua said, trying to appear braver than she felt. She was a bit mad that they were threating Ken's life. She just hoped that she was right about the power that Ken had.

Ken/Nara

"What do you want with her," Ken yelled out, angry and afraid of these people, but he felt some kind of power within him. "Let's not kill him, I can use him to help train my pets, so long as he doesn't die easily," Nara said, and walked forward. He drew a dagger from a pouch on his waist and said, "I don't wanna have to use this, but if you don't move, you'll find it deep in your heart." When Ken made no move, Nara swung the dagger toward Ken, but miraculously, it hit something. Ken's hand held a sword, and it was in front of him, protecting him. "Wha-what's this," Ken asked, afraid. "Oh no, Yua, you didn't give this boy magic did you," Nara asked, and grinned, chuckling. "This just became a lot more fun for me. Kura, sick him." The viperhound growled and leapt at the boy, but the sword batted it away with relative ease. "KURA," Nara yelled, running to his pet.

Ni'Usa was a bit surprised that Yua gave the boy magic. She was also angered by this.

"You dare give a stupid human magic? Hand yourself over and he won't die," she snarled at Yua. Yua shook her head and looked at Ken.

"I told you I wasn't lying."

Ni'Usa had no weapon, but she still had power. She raised her hands and concentrate so only Ken and Yua would get hit by the energy. Then she tossed it at them.

Ken

"Yeah, no kidding, but how do I control this thing," Ken asked, and then the little girl tossed energy at them. "Agh," Ken yelled again, but the sword reacted, slicing into it and causing the energy to disperse. "Woah," Ken muttered, looking at the sword.

"Aw he destoried my energy," the girl complained. She pouted and Yua recognized her as the Heads' pet. She didn't actually say this name out loud for she also heard that she hated being called that, but this meant that they were serious about getting her back.

"It's ok Ridger. Just focus on defending us and the sword will do the rest."

Rioghnan watched the boy with curiosity as he walked away from his partners, studying the boys fighting style.

"It's certainly obvious that he has no idea what's going on or what he's doing. But there's denying that he has the raw talent when it comes to using the sword. It's a pity that he ended up meeting my idiotic and violent partners, otherwise a simple memory wipe would have worked on him and he would be on his way instead of fighting for his own life." Rio thought as he continued to walk around the boy, not even looking directly at him since he would see him anyways, plus he knew that it might just look like he was giving up, but that certainly wasn't true.

"Sorry for killing you so dishonorably Reyuantye." Rio said as he quickly turned around and rushed at Yua, hoping to grab the girl and leave quickly.

Ken

"Yua," Ken yelled, and sword quickly pulled him in front of Yua, between her and her attacked. He held the sword out, and narrowed his eyes. "As long as I have this power, I will not let you take her," he said.

Yua sighed in relief, when Ken put himself between her and her attacker. Yua didn't recognized him and was a bit put off by him knowing her name.

'The Heads must of told them all about me. It makes the most sense.'

Ni'Usa looked ready to attack again and Yua wasn't sure if Ken could take on all three at once.

Nara

"Up, Kura, up," Nara exclaimed, and the viperhound slowly obeyed, rising to her feet, hissing in hatred. "Be careful, I can't afford to lose you, don't let him get you with that sword," Nara said, and Kura barked to show she understood. "Good, now this time, approach from the rear. Try getting the girl, and let the other two handle the boy." The viperhound was off, and Nara stood back and watched, ready to yell commands at any moment.

Yua bit her lip, but knew what she had to do. They were outnumbered and so she had to resort to using her own powers. She closed her eyes and focus on the area. Soon her body began to feel numb. She opened her eyes and smiled. Everything beside herself and Ken was moving slow. They could escape now.

"Come on. Let's go," she told to him, beginning to pull Ken away from the scene. Her power wouldn't last for much longer and she wanted to be far away.

Ken

Ken followed her as quickly as she could as the others stopped moving. When they were far enough away, the sword dissappeared and Ken began to breathe heavily, he hadn't had to run like that ever before. "...Ok, I believe you," he said, after gasping for breath.

Ni'Usa felt weird and in the blink of an eye, the two were gone. She went wide eyed and realized that Yua had used magic.

"That *****! When I find her I'm going to kill her," Ni'Usa cried. She was impressed though. She didn't think the girl would use her powers. Or that she was strong enough to use them for a long enough time to escape.

"Are you hurt," Yua asked suddenly. "If you are I am sorry. I never wanted you to get involved. But I am glad you believe me."

Ken

"I'm fine, I guess," Ken said. "...We'll get back to my house, there you can fill me on everything about this situation." He began to walk, and stopped. "Oh man, mom, she's not going to believe this. I don't know how you can get in."
