The Dawn Of A New Hope (A Star Wars/Avatar Crossover RP)

Darth Helios

Darth Helios frowned at the casual tone he used, but let it slide. "I'm looking for someone. A female togruta, somewhere on this moon, named Shaak Ti." He paused for a moment, thinking of how to keep discrete about exactly what she was, and added, "she'd be in her thirties now, not in service to anyone but independent. Have you seen anybody with that description?" For added incentive, he pulled out a chip, loaded with Imperial Credits, clear to the broker's view, but not to the other patrons.

"Well, that just means we get her out fast. It wouldn't be the first time that the Imperial war machine was too incompetent to send someone after a target fast enough. Besides, we're the best in the business," Sokka told Dorothy, confident in his own skills as well as Toph's and the droid's.

Ayla Secura

"Very good," said the Twi'lek as she assumed her own stance, a different defensive stance of her own, "You may begin." she said calmly, awaiting the young warrior to make her first move.

On Ji

She was nervous, with Master Shaak Ti watching her so closely it was a wonder she lasted as long as she did...which was to say she beat the other student, rather badly. Her nervousness had caused her to attack more forcefully than she had intended and had caught the other off-guard, landing a sharp blow to his knuckles.

Needless to say, Shaak Ti was not pleased...

Suki

Suki nodded before springing into action, as she sent a swift strike toward Secura's left side.

Big Ear

Big Ear nodded and closed his eyes in thought. "Hm. Must be millions of species on this planet alone. A Togruta. Hm. Not sure if I've ever seen one. Well, maybe I have, but the species name isn't familiar. You got a picture of this 'Shaak Ti', or someone of her species? That might help refresh my memory."

Dorothy

"If you say so." Dorothy gave them both a skeptical look.

"I will be leaving, then, if neither of you mind. We ought to be exiting out of Hyperspace soon enough." she added. The android walked over to the entrance of the room, before pausing and turning to both Sokka and Toph.

"Hm. If you both wish to consummate your relationship, now would be the best advisable time. Nar Shaada will likely take many days, if not weeks, to wrap up."

Dorothy then flashed them both with a slight smirk, and then left.

Darth Helios

"Of course," Helios replied, and reached into his cloak. He pulled out a small device and set it on the table, a hologram rose from it and a miniature version of Shaak Ti stood, though it was dated by a decade or two. "She's a little older now."

Ayla Secura

Blocking Suki's first strike, Ayla stayed on the defensive, observing Suki's attacks; blocking and dodging, the Jedi Master caught the Kyoshi warrior off guard by switching to counter attacks. Suki had learned well, but she had not been participating, thus had not grasped the techniques capabilities, capitalizing on the gaps in Suki's defense when she rebounded from the paries.

Taking advantage of an advantageous gap in Suki's stance, she paried the sword away, sweeping the girl off her feet, and as she landed, Ayla held the training sword to the girl's throat, "You've learned well to be sure, but I'd recommend you join practice regularly. This training isn't just for benders or Force users."

Toph shook her head. "Even if we wanted to, her telling us to do it is sort of a turn-off, huh?" she said, chuckling a little.

"Yeah... You know, I think I might have been tempted if she told us not to," Sokka joked with a grin.

Toph laughed. "You're crazy, Snoozles," she said. She kissed him. "One day, we will," she added.

Sokka smiled and kissed back, blushing slightly at what she said, "Yeah. I know."

She smiled. Toph hugged him, and followed up with a friendly punch. "Let's go get ready to get outta this hyperspace deal. I can't wait to get outside somewhere. I've got a bending itch."

Haru, who was in front of Leia and Jin went down first. Jin let out a cry of shock and almost ran over to help the stunned Haru, but Leia put a hand on the girl's shoulder and shook her head.

"No Jin. If we are lucky we will all be taken and put together."

Jin looked at Leia just as she was hit as well. Then Leia went down.

(I fail.....Sorry never seen the movie so I just...yeah....)

Dorothy

"We are now arriving at Nar Shaada." Dorothy reported an hour later, as they exited out of Hyperspace.

Big Ear

"Ah, so that's a Togruta. Definitely looks familiar. Seen a few of her species myself on the Smuggler's Moon, from time to time. Hm. Shaak Ti herself...let me check something."

Big Ear focused on the datapad on his hands for a few minutes before he looked back over at Helios.

"Got it. A security cam got a brief glimpse of Shaak Ti as she arrived on Nar Shaada, nearly a year ago, I think. No glimpse of her since then, though. She has likely gone into hiding, somewhere on this Force-forsaken planet. Where, I can't say. In a year, she could literally be anywhere by now. However..."

Big ear consulted his datapad again and smirked. "You've got a lucky break, kid. Shaak Ti may not be crawling out of her hiding hole, but she's gotta eat and drink like most of the species on this planet. A minor shipping company routinely sends out some cargo filled to the brim with food, and while most of it isn't noteworthy, a small portion of the food delivered is food eaten only by the Togruta species. There aren't many Togruta on the Smuggler's Moon, so it's likely your little target.

However, the drop off point isn't any specific location, so it's more than likely the food is picked up by someone, who hands it off to another paid person, and so on and so forth until the food reaches Shaak Ti and whoever else is living with her. If she's tried that hard to stay hidden, I wouldn't doubt she'd take such procautions in the delivery of her food." Big Ear finished.

Suki

Suki blinked and gave a slow nod. "You speak the truth, Mistress Secura. It probably would help if the Warriors and I participated more in the combat sessions. Very well, I'll make sure we do so. I am sorry that I was not a more worthy opponent."

Darth Helios

Helios listened with rapt attention, and nodded when the informant finished. "Are there any other details that might be useful? Any people known to have picked up a shipment of this stuff before," he asked. It would still be difficult to find someone who was involved, but at a lead would eventually come down to something. He just needed an opening, someone to find and get answers out of.

(I'm taking over for Katara while Alec is away.)

Katara

Katara sat on the ship that was taking her to Tatooine, a remote desert planet far in the outer rim. She wasn't expecting to like it all that much, the lack of water being an immediate turnoff, and she wouldn't have bothered going if she hadn't been told to. The person who had sent her there was Aang, in a vision he'd told her that one of the twin's they had been seeking would be there. She wasn't too sure how she would go about finding him, but there was always someone who knew something, it was a matter of knowing what to ask.

"Finally!" said Toph, stretching out her arms from where she sat. "How long until we land, D?"

"As soon as we can bribe the docking authorities, I think," Sokka mused, grinning a little. It had been weeks since he stepped on honest land. He was looking forward to having a drink at a cantina. It was a pity Toph drank all the Onderonian Whiskey.

Toph snorted. "Oh, is that all?" she said, still smiling. She could practically smell good, old earth. It felt like forever since she had been on some real ground, so she was both antsy and excited. "Same old, same old, huh?"

"Yep. Sneaking people past Imperial Star Destroyers, crashing at cantinas, not telling Katara... Sounds fun," Sokka told her with a grin.

Ayla Secura

Smiling, she helped the young warrior to her feet, "You have a long ways to go, but you are learning. And I don't mean just the combat sessions. Meditating can help one center themselves and focus, and there are techniques that you can learn to resist attacks on the mind." she said.

Looking over to the group, she motioned the warriors to follow her, "Come along, you have a lesson to get to." she said, spotting Shaak Ti lead a student away from the group, "I'll over see the lesson from here."

Shaak Ti, On Ji

As the girl stood off to the side, hanging her head low as Shaak Ti looked at her, "I am certain you do not need me to tell you, what it is that you have done." she the Togruta, On Ji shook her head, "No, mistress. I...allowed my fear to get the better of me. It won't happen again." she said, bowing to the Jedi Master.

"No, it will happen again. I...feel that the Jedi teachings may be...imperfect. I am not saying that you should embrace your fear, but you should face it. The Jedi teachings say that one should avoid strong emotions, ones that are believed to lead to the dark side."

Placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, she lead On Ji away from the group, "Having no understanding of these emotions that are dangerous can be just as potentially dangerous. Now, why where you afraid, young one?" she asked.

On Ji shook her head, "I...didn't want to disappoint you." she said, cheeks flushing. "Why would you be concerned with such a thing? Pride can be dangerous, as the Jedi teachings say, but I cannot say that I am not so, with how well you and the other students have progressed with your training. The only disappointment I could expect, is for anyone here to fall to the dark side of the Force."

Big Ear

"Hm. Not that I can see." Big Ear replied, frowning as his looked down at his datapad. "The couriers are fired at regular intervols, and replaced by new ones. Hm. Seems like that happened just recently. I can give you a list of names of the people recently fired. They might have some useful information. As for the people recently hired...no clue, for the moment. I'll look it up some more, if you want me to."

Suki

Suki nodded, but frowned a little. "I find meditating to be...hard. I....when I try, bad memories always seem to pop up. Especially in my time at Lake Laogai."

Dorothy

"I have secured us docking clearance." Dorothy announced, then. "Shall I land us, or do you wish to, O Wise Leader?"

Darth Helios

"Yes, find whatever you can on current couriers. In the meantime, I'll go interview the people that have worked for her," Darth Helios said. He slid the informant the card of credits took a look at the names. Another kriffing people search, he thought, but at least he was getting close.

"Thanks Dorothy, I think I can take it from here," Sokka told her, rolling his eyes at her statement. It seemed that she was getting more and more sarcastic by the day. He wondered if it had something to do with being in the presence of him and Toph.

Nevertheless, he took joy in landing the ship upon the large moon. Flying was something he found that he was good at. The thruster, the instruments, everything seemed like it was a part of him when he flew. He wondered if this was what Katara and Toph felt like when they bended. When he at last landed the ship after doing a few loops within the moon's atmosphere, he placed the ship at low power and stood up.

"Finally. I thought we'd never get here."

"Me too," said Toph. She hopped up from her seat. "Well, what're we waiting for? Let's get outside!"

Ayla Secura

Frowning, she sighed, "To overcome one's fears, you must face them; come, meditate with me," she said, motioning for the Kyoshi warrior to follow her as she quickly set the other students to their studies...what little of it they had managed to retrieve.

"Alright. First, we need to visit Elzar's Cantina. We can pass along a message there," Sokka told them in his "leader's" voice before adding, "And I really need a drink."
