| Plaguewalker The demon cursed. Loud and long. The now ruined arm lay in his lap, as Dorjee stared down at it. Thick crimson poured from it, staining what was left of Dorjee's coverings. S-she broke my arm... No sh*t, Sherlock! God dammit, this bloody hurts! The demon cradled the mauled limb, hissing in pain.
Fire Lord Jason flipped around, grunting as one Thomas' legs struck his arm before he grabbed the pair of them and finished his flip for him by slamming him into the ground.
"And in what light do you have to call me evil?" asked Scarecrow.
"Look around you Thomas. Dorjee attacking Tobi, Tobi innocents, and Feugar unleashing his furry on everyone; Haters, Innocents and Unwanted. Surely you see this? The Unwanted are merely mindless creatures satisfying their own blood lust, and they don't care who gets in their way. Do you truely want to be like them?"
Casey Jewels Thomas grunted as he hit the ground. He opened his mouth to answer Jason back, but then froze up. Jason was... right. His fellow Unwanted were attacking both each other, and innocents.
Then he shook his head. "They are them. I am me," he whispered, and then kicked out at Jason's legs, determined to knock the boy to the ground as well. "They have their problems. And I have mine."
iamkatara Rachel closed her eyes as she saw Tobi running for her. She wasn't fast enough to get out of the way, so she stayed there. When she heard a large thump, she saw Tobi get hit my Dorjee, and then she looked at Raqueal. There was anger in his eyes like she'd never seen before. She walked over to him, trying to cool him down(((no pun intended))). "Raqueal, keep control. Stay in control..." Her words were right but her voice could show she was scared. She touched his cheek. She needed to calm everyone down. Everyone just needed to stop... Now.
Fire Lord Scarecrow growled as he fell to the floor, rolling to the side and jumping back to his feet.
"Problems? You're compensating now Thomas. You're trying desperatly to put their actions into light, but there is none. They are monsters who are satisfying their own desires. They are attacking innocents, something I forbid the Haters to do. Any Hater that attacked an innocent, I would punish."
Scarecrow's smile widened beneath his mask.
"You can't deny it. They are worse than me. Do you really want to honor Alice's memory by helping innocents die? Repent your sins, Thomas, and serve me. Together we can stop them. Together we can help the innocents that they are putting in jeopardy. Do you really Alice wanted innocents to come to harm? They are disgracing her very memory!"
Casey Jewels Thomas climbed back to his own feet and backed away a step or two, becoming more and more unsure by the moment. And the more unsure about things he became, the more the toxin was beginning to affect him. But everytime his fears began to become too much to handle, all he had to do was picture Alice dying, and they retreated to a more managable level.
"They have Inner Beasts that they must fight with!" Thomas shouted. "It's not their fault! It's not their fault..." But then his uncertainty rose up once more and he angrily shook his head.
"I won't betray them! I won't betray Alice!" He rushed forward once more, flapping his wings as he did so. He pushed off of the ground and rose into the air, reaching down for Jason as he did so.
manysidestome "I wish I could stay in control, but I lost him," Raqueal said. "I only had control of the demon because I got a lock on his energy just as it started forming. I kept it under control. I can't do it again though, I've killed us all." He couldn't bare it, his stupid idea was going to cost innocents their lives now, he was worse than the monsters before him. "Let's hurry and get as many out as we can, before the monsters destroy everything," he said.
Fuegar roared again, inhuman, agonizing in it, it was almost a screech. He ran at Tobi now, the only thing in his sights. Soon, he would turn to a new quarry, maybe the injured demon nearby, he could sense him and wanted him dead.
Georgie Tobi dodged him again, snarling, snapping at his heels but keeping her distance as the heat radiated from his body. She was infuriated he had disrupted her potenial meal twice and for this, he would pay dearly. Dorjee's blood stained her white fur, dribbled through the pelt across her wide chest as she weaved around him and then leapt into a row of chair, roaring at him challengingly.
manysidestome Fuegar hit the wall as Tobi evaded him, failing to slow down and stop in time, and lit it on fire, but he didn't care. He turned back around to face Tobi, and screeched again, and ran at her. He wasn't really smart enough in this form to realize when an attack wasn't going to work, being all power and no intelligence.
Georgie If Tobi could grin, she would have as Fuegar ran at her and she leapt into the aisle, tearing across it, but making sure he was following as she snarled at him, doubled back and tore around his ankles before dashing off again, leaping upon the stage, throwing her great head back and howling to the full moon above her.
manysidestome Fuegar roared as she toyed with him again. He followed her, stopping as she leapt onto the staged and howled. He screeched in answer, and jumped up as well, landing behind her, and advancing quickly, wanting to finally be able to burn this foe.
Georgie Tobi had readied herself as he leapt and stood motionless as he landed behind her, before dashing to the left and throwing her heavy body into one of the support columns. It shattered noisily beneath her wait and she fell to the ground on her side. A moment later, she was upon her paws and with a snarl and gnash of her jaws, she tore through the ropes that one of the rafters above relied on to stay above. She heard a piercing set of creaks from above, but she simply stared at Fuegar, her top-lip rippling as the rafter came crashing down to earth.
manysidestome Fuegar could only turn his head to keep up with Tobi. When she stopped, he advanced on her until he heard something above him. He looked up and saw the rafters coming down on him. He screeched in fear as the rafters hit, some igniting, and a dust cloud went up. He lost his power and reverted back to his normal self, coughing. His head was uncovered, as well as one leg, the rest of his body was under alot of wood, the fire spreading slightly. He was barely alive, but that wasn't going to last long. The wood was crushing him, he felt his left arm having been pierced, and the energy he had expended was too great. He had minutes left.
Fire Lord Scarecrow pointed his arm up at Thomas.
"They've already betrayed you."
A blast of toxin came forth from his sleeve before he leapt backwards to avoid Thomas' strik He rolled to the side as several of the rafters fell, looking through the dust and smirking beneath his mask at the outcome.
"Oh dear," he smoothly called out. He walked up the debris to stand over the trapped Feugar.
"I'm sorry it had to be this way, Feugar," Scarecrow said, looking down at the injured boy with a dark satisfaction.
He walked past him, leaving the injured Feugar where he lay.
"But you will face judgement soon enough I'm afraid."
He approached the growling werewolf, holding up his hands.
"Tobi...it's me!"
Scarecrow reached up to pull off his mask, revealing the face of Jason. He watched Tobi's murderous eyes with soft ones of his own.
"Come here..." he muttered softly, holding out his hand like a master to his loyal dog.
"Come over here...I have blood for you."
Georgie Tobi stared at Jason now, growling softly, baring her white teeth that clashed violently with the bright red upon her snout and chest. She took a step forward, her paws thudding heavily upon the wooden floor, her back was arched warily and her tail was low. She took another step forward, stopped and sat. Staring at Jason, she tossed her head back again and howled ear-splittingly before stopping, moving smoothly to her feet and snarling viciously.
Perhaps now, she would get her deserved meal.

| Casey Jewels Thomas, knocked off course, slammed hard into the ground and rolled, promptly falling off of the edge. He sat up with a low groan, and then his eyes opened wide in dismay as he caught sight of Fuegar. Oh no. No. No. No. No. No. I can't lose him too... But then it started again, all of those scenarios, and not a single good way.
The Unwanted bit down hard on his lip, biting clear through it. He then shook his head, fighting with his fears. But even his defense of picturing Alice wasn't really helping any longer. He had received so much of that toxin..., but Fuegar...
Thomas forced himself up to his feet and back up onto the stage. Then he staggered over to Fuegar, so that he stood between the injured demon and the danger of Tobi and Jason. His body was trembling more than before, but still he continued to stand. His worst fear had already come to pass, which helped to weaken the toxin's grip on him, but only by a little...
manysidestome "Thomas... promise me... you'll save everyone... from the haters... accomplish... what Alice... wanted..." Fuegar said quietly. "I know... that you... can do it... I'm sorry... I failed you... I regret... I couldn't... be of any... help... to anyone..." He hacked up some blood, feeling death close it's grip around him. "Please... tell Faith... I'm sorry..." He coughed once more, and felt his heart give up. He closed his eyes, and the last concious thought he had was of all the people he wished he could have saved, all the people he wanted to get closer to.
Casey Jewels Thomas watched Fuegar in silence, listening carefully to every word that the demon said. That helped to somewhat to drive away the fears--at least, while he was speaking. But then..., everything spiraled downhill as Fuegar's eyes slid shut, and there was silence.
"No...," Thomas whispered. "No..." He nearly fell to his hands and knees, but... there was still Tobi. And she was heading straight towards him. But yet, just like with Alice, Fuegar's death helped to clear his brain a little of all of the fear there.
The half-dragon shifted into a defensive stance and his eyes narrowed in determination. He had had it. Nobody else was going to die because he wasn't strong enough or fast enough to protect them. But there was still one thing that he wanted to know.
"Why me?"
Fire Lord Jason stared unflinchingly back at Tobi's bloodthirsty eyes.
"Tobi..."
He moved quickly, in an instant he had the werewolf in his eyes holding her jaws closed so she couldn't bite him and pressing her to him in a tight embrace.
"Tobi...it's me...Jason," he whispered through her muffled growling.
"Please remember. I told you I would always keep your heart safe. Please snap out of it."
Plaguewalker Dorjee rose slowly to his feet, letting his broekn arm hang limp. "So...this is it, huh kid? One last shot, all or nothing? The last roll of the dice?" Yes. We either succed or die. No other options. "You're becoming more and more like me everyday." The demon began to move towards the stage, locking his eyes upon Tobi. "I hate love. It'll be the death of me."
The demon's progress was slow, as his eyes staying focused on the lycan. We can't let her do anything else. Are you ready? The demon didn't reply, seeing that Jason had embraced the werewolf. "That's not the smartest idea, buddy." Dorjee called, climbing slowly onto the stage. "She's pretty nasty when she's like that."
iamkatara Rachel nodded. She had to do something. She rallied what was left of the innocents and pushed them out the wall. After only a few minutes, only the Haters and the Unwanted were left. She turned to Raqueal. "What should we do now? Should we enter the fight or keep away?" She was so confused.
Georgie Tobi snarled and struggled in Jason's grip, listening to him speak to her but not registering the words her human-form would have died to have heard. But all she cared for now was blood - was the satisfication of that hot oozing sensation across her tongue as the warm flesh slipped down her throat. She snarled in her closed snout, her eyes watering as her jaws clenched forcibly together, digging into the soft gum.
She looked into Jason's eyes, as she struggled free and due to the force of her pull, fell across the floor again, landing heavily on her side as she looked up and snarled, blood trickling from her teeth as she lay a few steps from him.
Fire Lord "Tobi..." said Jason, watching her carefully.
"Thank you," he said to her.
"Thank you for everything."
He moved in a flash, grabbing Tobi's werewolf form and slamming it against a wall.
"And goodbye."
He blast of toxin errupted from Jason's sleeve, striking Tobi in the face like pressurized steam. Jason dropped her to the ground, pulling on Scarecrow's mask once more.
"I'm afraid you'll find that toxin was not made for monsters," said Scarecrow, towering over Tobi's werewolf form, as if he were the true monster not her.
"It still stimulates one's fear, but in monsters if effects the respiratory systems more so than the brain in normal people. If your heart rate isn't slowed, the toxin will effectively poison you."
Scarecrow turned, walking back towards the debris where Thomas and Dorjee remained.
"Goodbye, Unwanted," he called back to her.
He stopped in front of Dorjee and Thomas, his dark eyes alive with laughter beneath his mask.
"Well well, one by one the senior members of the Unwanted are dissapearing. Alice, Feugar, Tobi, all the people you two care about are gone."
Casey Jewels "I know," Thomas snarled as he warily eyeing Jason. "And you... It's all because of you!" His anger had resurfaced once again, cutting through the fear. Alice was dead. Fuegar was gone. Tobi was going to be leaving soon. And countless others had been injured and killed. And why? All because of this boy that stood before him.
Killing him wouldn't bring them back. Killing him wouldn't save Tobi. Killing him wouldn't save himself. But killing him would save countless others. And killing him would maybe ease the pain in Thomas's heart. And so, with those thoughts, the half-breed rushed forward at lightning speed.
Plaguewalker Dorjee paniced, leaping onto the stage. "Tobi!" He called, looking at the were-wolf with concern. She can't die. She can't die. We can't let her. "I am aware, kid. God, it's amazing the dedication you give to someone who dosen't even care about you back." The demon walked slowly towards the lycan, not wanting to startle her.

| Georgie Tobi howled in agony as the steam stung her eyes and she hit the ground hair, writhing as it seeped into her bloodstream. She yelped and wheezed as the toxin coursed through her viens like tar. She could feel her wolven-body dying as Tobi growled softly, looking at Jason through severely blurred vision. But she could hear him perfectly. Fury raged within her. She struggled to her paws, stumbling, collasping. She looked at the two boys in front of him as she howled, tossing her back in pain as her heart rate began to drop. She heard Dorjee now, and looked up through heavily-misted eyes, pinning softly as flashes of her human-forms' life danced across her jumbled mind.
Tobi's human-traits began to surface as fury was entangled with confusion, misery. She snarled, struggling to her upright postition as she raced past Dorjee, and at Jason, ran at him with every last shred of strength she possessed as she tore in front of Thomas and leapt upon Jason, pinning him beneath her lupine weight.
Fire Lord Scarecrow readied himself for Thomas' attack, but was caught off guard by Tobi's sudden lundge. His eyes widened beneath his mask as he let out a startled yell, falling to his back with Tobi's weight atop him.
He peered up at her with disgust behind his mask, holding her at bay with his arm under her chin. His arm was bleeding from her claws that had scratched him on the way down.
"How...foolish."
With his free hand, Scarecrow brought his black knife up. In one quick jab, he stabbed it into Tobi's chest. His eyes watched her with dark superiority, almost laughing at the outcome of the situation. With a great push, he threw Tobi past his head and straight at Dorjee.
Scarecrow jumped to his feet, quickly spinning his knife.
"How...unfortunate. She could have had a good life, but you Unwanted dragged her into this. You are responsible for her fate."
Casey Jewels Thomas had to spin to the side in order to stop himself from sinking his claws into Tobi's back, but, even then, it was a close call. But then he immediantly pressed the attack when Tobi was thrown to the side, growing even angier at himself for allowing Tobi to be hurt. And feeling slighty sick with fear at it as well.
"This is where it ends!" he howled, throwing everything into this attack--his fear, his anger, his confusion, his hatred, his regret. Nobody else was going to die or be hurt because of him. Nobody.
Georgie Howling in agony as she hit the ground, Tobi's body was limp as she cried out deeply. She was slipping from the iron-grasp of the curse and falling back into the light of her humanity. The wound was deep in her chest and she felt weakened, but again she managed to her feet, her body swaying dangerously as she howled in a mix of pain and fury.
She growled, looking at Dorjee and Thomas and due to her fading wolfish-traits, registered them as friend rather then food. She looked at Jason, her cobalt eyes watering in agony as she staggered beside Dorjee, her chest bleeding profusely.
Plaguewalker Dorjee knelt beside Tobi. "Don't move, wolfie. You'll make it worse." The demon cautiously placed his blackened hand on her back, his red eyes barely showing the concern that the one inside was feeling. She's gotta be okay. Gotta be okay.
"Don't you try and die on us, wolfie."
TokoToTheEnd
Faith watching all the chaos, finally gathered enough courage to walk to the stage, get on it, grab the mircophone, and then speak clearly through it. She didn't know excaltly what she was going to say or if anyone would listen, but glancing at Peace, gave Faith strength.
"Listen to me! Please you have to! What I want to say is important. You see I am neither an Unwanted nor a Hater. I'm just a young girl who doesn't know what to do with her life. I never thought I would be caught up in all this, yet here I am." Faith stopped for a second to take a deep breath. "Here I am with everyone else, and yet I seem to be the only one not fighting. So why is everyone else? What the hell is wrong with all you idiots!! Huh? Do you enjoy killing, taking lives, hurting others? Do you get off on it? Is this just a ****ing game to all of you!! My sister and friend died saving my life. They had the common sense to protect someone, not be some monster who just destroys." Faith was getting more and more angier by the second. "I don't care if you stupid Unwanted and Haters fight. Go ahead and kill eachother until there is no one left, but you shouldn't make other people, those who don't even care get involved. Go ahead and kill, but not like this. And never say it's for justice, because that's bull****. Death isn't justice. It's the opposite. So go ahead and kill me and everyone else. I don't see the gain in it."
Faith dropped the mircophone and looked nervously around, feeling vunerable and weak, but she didn't move, nor did she cry. She just stood their, hoping her words reached at some one person. And it did. Faith could see some Haters and Unwanted stop fighting, staring at Faith. A couple weapons fell. The noise got a little quieter.
iamkatara
Rachel looked at Faith, surpised at her courageousness. She smiled at her, her words finally sinking in. She was right, and Rachel hoped the others would listen.
manysidestome
"Bravo," Raqueal said. "Let's hope she's pursuaded them." He had enough of this whole battle. The demon he was supposed to have controlled had just died, and he couldn't feel more upset about it. The monster was his responsibility, and he failed. He didn't want to interfere more, and make things worse.
Fire Lord
"Then you are blind!" came Scarecrow's voice.
He approached Faith's side, watching her intently through his mask.
"The Haters protect the innocent! We attack the Unwanted that spread despair and indifference among us all. Innocents die because of your kind!"
He waved his hand back towards Tobi and Dorjee as well as Feugar's broken body.
"Did you not all see the choas those three unleashed upon everyone, including the innocent? The Unwanted are a lie; monsters that only exist to satisfy their own blood lust. If you are not an Unwanted, then you have nothing to fear from the Haters! We do not seek to involve you, merely help you and eliminate those that cause you despair."
iamkatara Rachel was through with it. She walked up to the scarecrow.
"HOW DARE YOU!?!? WHEN WILL YOU GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD?" She took a pause to cool her mind. "I'm an Unwanted, just like the others, and yet I didn't kill one person tonight. It's not our fault these differences got put on our heads, so we tried to make the best of it and keep ourselves in control." She cocked her eyebrows. "And if i'm not mistaken, it was your idea for Tobi to unleash her powers on Alice, not her own. Fuegar only changed into a demon to stop Tobi from hurting people. If Tobi was in her right mind, and not in a werewolves mind, she would have never hurt anyone. A human's mind loses control once they turn into a werewolf..." She moved closer. "but i'm sure you knew that. You have lied and decieved everyone here and this whole fight, and the deaths of EVERYONE are on your hands. Not ours."
Casey Jewels Thomas growled in frustration as he watched Scarecrow talk to Faith. The girl, that stupid girl! Her little speech had distracted him, allowing his prey to get away. He moved closer to the two of them, watching the Hater closely.
"Rachel's right!" he shouted at at Jason. "You keep talking about wanting to be our friends and crap, but still you just continue to harm us!" He took another step closer, fighting to stay angry. As long as he was angry, he could fight off the fears. As long as he was angry...
"Alice died because of you!" He pointed a trembling finger at Jason. "Because of you..."
Plaguewalker "Here's an idea. Instead of yelling at the sociopath, how about you kill him?!"
Dorjee glared between the two of them. "Honestly, do you think slapping his wrist will stop him? No, it'll spur him on. He's nuts. Koo-koo. Do the world a bloody favor and kill the bastard." The demon shook his head once, before returning his attention to his wounds and Tobi's.
TokoToTheEnd "That is a lie. I have friends with both the Unwanted and Haters. I came to see they are the same. If you believe that you are protecting me, your dead wrong. I may not be like you or anyone else here. I'm only human. I'm weak too. I could never kill, but I am not stupid. What I see is bloodlust from both sides. Is death the only way to solve that?" Faith was mad. How dare he say that, when he did not care that Peace her sister, a Hater had died. He didn't want to protect people. He wanted blood.

| Casey Jewels That did it. Those words were exactly what Thomas needed to get him going again.
"I'm sorry, Faith," he whispered to the girl. "But he has to be stopped."
The Unwanted then stepped closer to Jason, so that only a foot seperated the too of them. He stared at the boy for a moment, then closed his eyes and pictured both Alice's and Fuegar's dead bodies. Then his eyes snapped open, narrowing into tiny slits of anger and hatred and fury, and he moved forward. One clawed hand moved towards Jason's chest, while the other zoomed around towards the back of the boy's head.
Fire Lord Scarecrow moved, sidestepping Thomas and swinging his leg to knock the boy back.
"Such reckless and predictable behavior, Thomas," he said, laughing at the boy.
"You call me insane?" said Scarecrow, chuckling loudly as he watched his four prosecutors intently.
"Are you no better, Dorjee? You have two minds in that shell, and you seek to fight, to satisfy your desire."
He chuckled loudly.
"Tobi, that monster underneath you spread choas with her transformation and had to be removed. With her gone many possible lives will be saved."
He turned his head towards the rubble of the rafters.
"Feugar, a demon whose pride would cause him to attack anyone, even his fellow Unwanted. Now that he's dead, people will be able to walk without concern for their safety."
Scarecrow's head traveled towards the broken body of Alice.
"Alice, leader of the Unwanted. She filled student's minds with dreams of indifference, which in turn produces pride and then despair as a result. Peace fought bravely as a Hater, but when she betrayed us to help an Unwanted, she died."
Scarecrow turned his head back to the four on the stage.
"Every death I have caused has the potential to save countless others. Just as Feugar could see past people's personalities and into their true being, I can see beyond simple matters of emotion and see what truely must be done to ensure peace. You Unwanted can not see it because your are blind by false teachings and fools. The same fools that are now dead."
Plaguewalker "Oh, I'm far from sane, but you're worse. And you don't even have a demon to blame it on." Dorjee shot back, grabbing some torn cloth to wrap his wrist in. The bone needed to be tended to soon, but certain issues needed to be dealt with first.
Casey Jewels Thomas stumbled back a few steps, barely dodging the kick in time. Why do I keep missing?! he growled at himself in frustration. I know that I'm not a fighter. I've never fought back before. I always just took it, but still...
"Alice and Fuegar were no fools," he whispered, his eyes watering. "They taught me how to stick up for myself!" And then he physically wilted and let the tears flow freely. "Why weren't you there for me, Jason?" he asked. "Why didn't you help me, in the beginning?"
He slowly shook his head, attempting to keep his fears at bay. But there was just so many of them, and he had gotten so much of that toxin in his system. "Why, Jason? Why did you have to wait until now to show me the truth?"
Fire Lord
Scarecrow merely watched Thomas, not moving or saying anything. Finally, he reached up with both his hands and pulled off his mask.
Jason's face was a mess. His hair was messy from the mask, and his face had several scratches and marks from the battle with Thomas. The most noticable feature were streaks coming from watery eyes, as if he had been crying for some time.
"It's because I'm weak," he muttered, his voice now much frailer and filled with sorrow then it was beneath the mask.
"When I first came here, I was so different," he said, wiping his eyes and shaking his head.
"So different then I am now. When I got older I promiced myself that I protect everyone smaller than me. Everyone that couldn't fight for themselves. But I couldn't. I was too weak. No matter how many I protected, there would still be more. Kids would still be injured, still be exiled by others no matter how much I tried. So instead of defending against that despair, and I swore to remove it!"
Jason's hands trembled as he raised the mask back to his head, pulling it on and adjusting it on his head. His hands immediatly siezed to tremble, the eyes behind the mask having no signs of tears and when he spoke it was in the familiar cold and superior tone.
"You Unwanted are the source at that despair. If I remove you, I bring peace to all. I am Scarecrow, the bringer of righteous judgment! I am the god of justice, and I will remove anyone that brings forth despair!"
Casey Jewels Thomas took an uncertain step or two towards Scarecrow, and then grabbed onto his arm in a pleading fashion. "Jason, please... I'm tired of it all! And I'm sorry I didn't take you up on your offer! I want to be with you! I'm not like the others!"
He let another sob shake his body and a hand felt limply to his side. He then tightened his grip on Jason's sleeve and his free hand started to curl into a fist, but he forced it to relax. "Please..."
Fire Lord
"Oh Thomas," said Scarecrow, shaking his head.
"You have caused so much despair, so many problems. You've stood in my way time and time again. If you truely wish to help me, then please..."
Scarecrow brought a closed fist into Thomas' stomach, knocking him backwards.
"Die."
He turned and started towards Faith, tossing his knife to his other hand.
"Haters! Do not stop! Continue the fighting! End this despair, bring peace to all!"
He stopped in front of Faith, glaring at her from beneath his mask.
"Your friend and leader is dead; your sister too. There is no one left to protect you, Faith. That charming little speech of yours was noble, but in it holds the seeds of despair. I'm afraid I must pass your leader's fate onto you as well. Now, are you ready to die Unwanted?"
TokoToTheEnd Faith looked at Jason, all the memories of her years at Sylan playing in her head. If she died, she would be with Fuegar, Alice and Peace. No more fighting or anything bad. This brought tears to the girl's eyes. She was so confused. She feel to her knees.
"I.....I'm sorry...I failed you....sister....Alice...I'm too weak," she mumbled between sobs.
manysidestome Raqueal stepped up between Faith and Scarecrow. "No, too many have died tonight, and too many innocents have been put in danger. I don't give a care about your war, but you are not going to kill this innocent," he said. "I don't care what your motives are, putting innocents at risk is not something a hero would do."
Casey Jewels Thomas stumbled back in surprise, letting out a grunt to pain as he did so. He had thought... It was such a brilliant plan! But Jason... Jason had taken him by surprise. And now Faith was in danger...
"You die!" he shouted and slammed into Jason's side. He then moved to plunge his claws into the Hater's stomach, knowing that there was no time to waste if he was going to save Faith's and everyone else's lives. There was no more time to stall, no more time to think, no more time to do anything but act.
Fire Lord Scarecrow took a step towards Raqueal before he yelled in suprise as Thomas talked him from the side. He grunted as his claws scratched the side of his stomach before they both came crashing to the stage floor. He wrestled briefly with Thomas, throwing him off and leaping to his feet.
He growled and held his injured side carefully.
"Why won't you die, Thomas? You have nothing to live for! You're a spreader of despair, your love and friend is dead. Why do you keep fighting?!"
Casey Jewels
"To stop it! To stop it all!" Thomas shouted back at him, even a he rushed at Jason for what felt like the umpteenth time. But this time he was feeling a little more confident about the attack, for he had managed to score a blow. "And to avenge them!"
Vengeance... Yes, that's why he was doing this. He wasn't going to give up and allow himself to be killed, not until he had vengeance. Jason had to die!
Georgie Tobi looked up at Dorjee, her eyes hazed in agony as she snarled weakly at him, struggling to her feet again, not willing to give in despite her almost total inabilty to see anymore. Human emotion began to wash over her as her curse disappeared into her mortal wounds. But she wouldn't give up - human or wolf. And she suddenly found herself wondering, what exactly she was fighting for? Her lupine mind told her it was a purely selfish desire, wanting blood and flesh and yet, her human form spoke of protecting those she loved.
Confused and injured, Tobi cried out as she stumbled against Dorjee, her eyes spilling tears of raging emotions that were captured in each pearly drop.
Plaguewalker
Dorjee winced as she bumped his bad arm, but ignored the pain as he placed a hand on her back. "It's okay Tobi. It's okay. I won't let anything happen to you." He whispered, rubbing her back softly.
Georgie
Tobi looked at Dorjee, the urge to tear him apart fading as she looked at Jason and Thomas, at Rachel and Faith. Her clouded emotions confused her as to what she should be feeling - whether or not these people where food or friend or foe.

Dorjee smiled softly, his red eyes calm. "Don't look so tasty now, do I?" He joked, still rubbing her back. "As soon as your back in your regular body, I'll take you to the nurse and get you fixed up." The demon's wounds could wait. Tobi's were far worse than a mere broken arm.
Fire Lord "Very well then," said Scarecrow.
"Then you shall die for their sins!"
He raced forward, matching Thomas' speed as he held up his knife in a attacking charge. Just as he reached Thomas however, he grappled his shoulder, flipping clear over him with a satisfied chuckle. He landed in a continuing run, moving past Thomas and towards Faith.
"Eliminate the sourse of despair," he called out, readying his knife as he drew nearer.
"End it for good!"
He brought his knife forward in a powerful thrust, his eyes gleaming darkly through the eyeholes of his mask as they emitted a overwhelming feeling of suffocation. Time itself seemed to slow as Scarecrow stroke with his weapon to eliminate the last drop of hope.
The tip of the black knife stopped short less than a centimeter from Faith's skin. The hand that held it trembled as Scarecrow tried desperately to continue the strike.
"She's right, Scarecrow," said the Hater.
Three Haters, dressed in the red and black cloaks stood in front of Faith like a human shield. With them were three more Unwanted, standing by the Haters with the same determination in their eyes as the former's.
The Hater in front held Scarecrow's arm, preventing his attack on Faith.
"What treachery is this?!" demanded Scarecrow, his eyes flaring in anger at the Haters.
"Attack them! Do as I command!"
"No!" yelled the lead Hater, shaking slightly under the stare Scarecrow gave him, but held his ground none the less.
"We're tired of death, Scarecrow! Peace...Marcus...so many of us have died! And for what?! So you have the chance to kill others?!"
Several Haters and Unwanted rushed to Tobi and Dorjee's side, crouching down and offering medical assistance. One of them handed Dorjee a small green pill.
"Give her this, it should clear her head of the transformation. Meanwhile we'll wrap up her wounds."
The lead Hater shoved Scarecrow's arm aside, causing him to take several steps back.
"We've had enough."
The leader turned to bow his head to Faith.
"By your command Miss."
Scarecrow turned his head to slowly look over at Thomas. In his eyes was a strange confusion; the confusion of a boy who believed he knew everything only to have it proven false.
"The corruption has spread too far," he suddenly said, holding up his knife. His eyes remained unblinking and in the state of strange confusion.
"Too many have fallen from the path of righteousness. They must all die. They must all face true justice!"
Plaguewalker Dorjee blinked once or twice, before taking the pill from the hater and holding it infront of Tobi. "Hey, Tobi. Can you eat this?" He asked quietly, not liking the proximity of the people who had tried to kill him not 4 minutes ago.
Casey Jewels Thomas paniced as Jason jumped over him and rushed at Faith, and his fears momentarily won the battle, rendering him completely useless as he fought with them. But then he heard a voice, and then another. And, with those voices, he realized that Faith was still alive.
The Unwanted slowly turned to face the group that had formed around Faith, but his eyes immediantly fell onto Jason, catching the confusion in them. But yet... still his words were filled with conviction, just as they had always been.
And that's when Thomas finally recognized Jason for what he was. A boy. A mere boy. One with problems. One that need help. But would he accept it?
"Jason," he whispered and took a step towards the boy. "Please. See reason. Or I'll have to..." He drifted off and took another step towards Scarecrow, warily keeping an eye on the knife.
Georgie Tobi looked at Dorjee and snapped at his fingers, the green pill sliding across her tongue strangely as the urge to gag presented itself. She swallowed hard. Snarled softly and yelped as the pain in her chest grew and she collapsed to the floor, buckling beneath the agony. Slowly, her body began to morph back into her human state, her bones cracking back into shape, her smooth skin stretching across every surface. It was agonizing for her and soon her yelps became cries as she lay beneath her mass of bloodied white hair, nearly naked as her body trembled.
But after a moment or two, she stood slowly, unsteadily, her hair falling across her body and masking it much of it from view as she wobbled on her feet and blinked. She saw Jason and her heart thudded. Pain shot through her chest and she gasped, clutching it instinctively. She looked up at him through watering eyes and stared hard. "Jason..." She whispered feebly. "I..." She moved toward him slowly, her legs threatening to buckle beneath her as she moved. Had he used her? Had he toyed with her emotions for his own sick, selfish obsessions?
Tobi could barely breathe, and the thought acted like a iron fist clamped around her windpipe.
TokoToTheEnd Faith looked at the Haters and the Unwanted. She wiped her tears away and looked at the sky. She stood.
"Jason you have to die. You must pay for your sins. Then we can finally make this a place for everyone to live in peace."
She looked at Thomas, a frown.
"Thomas you have to do it, or get someone else. He has to die. That's the only way, only I can't do it. Can't take a life. Please for everyone who died tonight. End it with his death."
Fire Lord "What do you want you annoying girl?!" yelled Scarecrow, his eyes darting to the struggling Tobi.
"What? Or did you actually believe I had any sort of feelings towards you?! You stupid, useless monster! You couldn't even perform the simple task I ordered you to do!"
He planted his foot down and rounded on the spot, striking Tobi with a closed fist to send her back to the ground. Scarecrow gritted his teeth as his head shot back and forth to the people around him.
"See reason? You fool, I am reason! I am justice!"
Two Haters and an Unwanted ran towards Scarecrow. Said person flipped his knife and spun on his feet, slicing on the Haters across the chest before bringing it under his shoulder to stab it into the Unwanted behind him. The last Hater was met with a blast of toxin, and was thrown back with the rest.
Scarecrow's breathing was fast and uneven, his eyes darting every direction before coming to rest on Thomas. He snarled, his eyes widening and his pupils dilating as he let loose a furious yell before running towards him.
"Face righteous judgment!"
He leapt into the air before reaching Thomas. His form was sloppy, unprotected, as he raised his knife high above his head to prepare to stab into Thomas'. His unsteady mind left himself with a means of defense, as Thomas' death seemed to be the only thing still running through.
Casey Jewels Thomas stood his ground, shifting into a defensive postition. Faith was right. He had to do it. No more hesitanting. No more second guessing. No more letting his doubts stop him.
Thomas reached up and his fingers curled around Jason's wrist. Then he took a step back, turning to the side a little as he did so, and yanked hard. The knife's course changed ever-so-slightly, slicing his ear open, instead of his head. But Thomas felt no pain, for his adrenline was racing faster than ever before. And it was his adrenline that was allowing his body to respond so fast, for all of this had happened in less than a second.
He released his enemy, letting Jason crash to the ground behind him. Then he turned to face the boy and let out a low growl. That's when Thomas let his control slip from him, just a little. The dragonic beast inside of him let out a mighty roar and then charged forward, intent on tearing the boy before him into pieces.
Fire Lord
Scarecrow flipped forward, spinning on a point to face the charging Thomas. He squeezed his hand closed to realize he had lost his knife. Thomas' new speed was too fast for him to follow, and he was unable to dodge. Claws sliced him from his head down his chest, the force throwing Scarecrow back several feet.
He stared at Thomas with a mixture of pain and terror, a rip down the front of his mask increasing before the entire thing split in two, the remains falling in a heap at his feet.
Jason looked on with a scratched and tear stained face, the large wound from Thomas slowly bleeding.
"No..." he mumbled, coughing up a large splat of blood from his lungs.
The feeling in his legs vanished and Jason fell to one knee, reaching out towards the remains of the mask.
"Scarecrow...don't...leave me here...alone."
He looked up from his defeated position at the group of Haters and Unwanted.
"I...swore...I promised."
He coughed again, his eyes growing wide as his vunerability was truely realized. His voice was pained and slow as he continued to cough up blood.
"I promised to make this school...a better place...a better place for everyone. I promised her. I have...to get rid of...despair."

The beast stared down at Jason. No remorse could be seen in his eyes, only anger, and the want for revenge. He let out another snarl, this one hinting at flames. But then the snarl died down as Thomas took charge once more.
Pity entered his eyes then, pity at what Jason had become, pity at what Jason was. "You can make this school a better place," he whispered and moved closer to the boy. "By letting me finish you off. It's the only way."
He knelt down and placed a clawed finger underneath Jason's chin. "I hope that you can see that, Jason."
Then, once again, he let his beast take control.
Plaguewalker
Dorjee scrambled over to Tobi, ignoring the ever constant sting of his broken arm. His demonic skin was starting to return to normal, the demon growing tired from being out so long. He pulled her close, cradling her with his good arm. His eyes slowly began to return to normal, the Unwanted symbol in his right pupil becoming visable. The Unwanted didn't care for Jason's fate, that had been the demon's wish. The last of his skin returned to it's normal pale colour, as he held Tobi close.

Rachel looked around at the masses, either huddled, or dead. She couldn't bear it anymore. She walked over to Raqueal. "I think it's time that we do what we set out to do." She smiled at him, trying to stay strong.
manysidestome
"Yes, the situation's out of our hands now. We did what we could," Raqueal responded. He headed toward the hole in the wall, hoping that everyone here would be ok. The innocents would hopefully be ok now, he didn't intend to stay at this school anymore.
iamkatara
Rachel nodded, following Raqueal out of the hole. She slipped on the edge and grabbed Raqueal's hand. "Sorry. All this fighting and i'm still clumsy as ever." She giggled to herself, trying to lighten the mood. As she stepped outside, she felt the cold air whip against her face. It was nice being outside for a change.
manysidestome
"It's fine," Raqueal said, following her outside. "So from here, are we together," he asked her. "Or will we pursue seperate goals?" He didn't want to leave her side, but if she wanted to go on her own, he couldn't stop her.
iamkatara
She smiled at him. "After all this, do you really think i'd leave you? Of course not." She tightened her grip around his hand and giggled. "So where to? The world is at our feet now. Oh the places we could go."
Georgie
Tobi blinked wildly at Jason, her heart breaking in two. He had hit at her hard, a bruise beginning to appear beneath the skin already. She swallowed hard, her chest screamed in protest as she pushed away from Dorjee's grasp and stood slowly, moving forward again, her mouth open to speak and then saw someone lying motionless across the floor...
Tobi felt her heart freeze as Alice's broken face focused in her eyes. Tobi's injured body shook violently as she screamed again, Alice's name echoing around the stage as she ran passed Thomas, Jason, Dorjee, Rachel and the Haters and flung herself at Alice, her best friend who lay dead amongst the rubble. Tobi broke down across her body, sobbing heavily into her friends stomach. She had lost the closest thing to family, to a sister. How could she have ever doubted Alice? The last thing she had said was...
Tobi cried harder, the thought unbearable.
Plaguewalker
Dorjee watched quietly, knowing now there was nothing he could do to help her. Alice's death was something she would have to face-and accept-on her own. With a sigh, he turned his thoughts inward. So...I guess I owe you one, huh? I got my fun. Let me out every once and a while and we'll call it even.
TokoToTheEnd Faith went over to Thomas and looked at Jason, a hint of concern on her face.
"Who did you promise?"
Fire Lord (By Toko's request)
Jason looked up with sadened and pain filled eyes, watching Thomas' claws. When Faith spoke, he slowly turned his head to look up at her. He coughed up a splat of blood, a trail leading from the corner of his mouth.
"Ty Lu," he said.
"I promised her...I would make this place...better for everyone. That's why...I have to...win. That's why I've done...everything."
TokoToTheEnd "Ty Lu? Does anyone know who she is?" Faith felt a little sorry now. He was just trying to do what he thought his friend or whatever wanted. But Faith wasn't sure if she would want something like this. Still the guilt laid in Faith's stomach, kicking her in the gut.
Casey Jewels
Thomas started at the name, and instantly took back control. Not yet, he told the dragon in him, who instantly quit its grumblings and backed off. Thomas had gained control of the beast within himself long ago, which he was very glad of at the moment.
"Ty Lu?" Thomas repeated, wanting to make sure he had heard the name correctly. "Ty Lu told you to do all this?" he jerked his head at the dead and injured strewn about the room. He caught sight of Alice's body and his entire body shook as he fought off the urge to rip the boy before him to shreds.
Words didn't matter anymore. Words wouldn't bring Alice back. But Faith mattered. She was an innocent. She shouldn't have to see something like this.
"Don't listen to his lies, Faith. I've done my research. Ty Lu would never tell him to do this." He and his beast glared down at Jason. "Turn away, Faith."
TokoToTheEnd Faith looked at Thomas, then to the body of Alice and then to Peace.
"No. I want to hear what he has to say. This has to do with everyone. I'm as much apart of it as everyone one. I know your mad, but I had someone close to me die too. Peace....and Alice died saving my life. I told them I would end this. So I want to help."
Fire Lord
"I'm not lying!"
The yell caused Jason to spit up another splat of blood. He winced, his eyes trailing to the floor.
"She told me to make this place better for everyone..."
He coughed again.
"I thought about her words for so long. And then...I finally realized what she must have wanted. There are those that spread despair. And as long as those people exist, this place will never be at peace. That's why the Haters exist now; to destroy those that spread despair."
Jason coughed again.
"I promised her I would bring peace."
Casey Jewels
Thomas licked his lips, unable to ignore the smell, nor the feel of Jason's blood any longer. He felt tempted to bring his bloody hand up to his mouth and lick it clean, but he knew better. For one, most would view that as disgusting. For two, that would make it so that Jason could get away.
"Alright," he said. "Lying or not, you do seem to have twisted her meaning." He pushed up a little harder, spilling a drop or two more of Jason's blood. "You're a madman, Jason. An extremely powerful madman." His eyes flickered back at Alice's body, and then to Faith.
"Now?" he asked Faith, knowing that it would be too much longer before the blood got to him. It had been so long since his last hunt, since he had last tasted fresh blood.
Georgie
Tobi felt as if her heart had ripped in half. The pain was excuriating. She had been lied to, she had been used. And in her stupidity, her disbelieving, she had lost a friend, her best friend. It was all her fault - Alice died because she hadn't saved her. Tobi looked at Alice's face, wiped a dribble of blood from her cheek, shifted her hair from her eyes.
Tobi felt another emotion now, rage - like the one she'd felt when she craved blood. She stood slowly, not bothering to wipe her tear-streaked face, her bloodshot eyes wide. She walked across to Jason, and stared at him a moment, breaking in between Faith and Thomas as she stared blankly.
And then, she struck him, punching his hard in the corner of the mouth as anger poured from her fist. "You are sick. You are the beast here."
TokoToTheEnd
Faith stood and walked away.
"Go ahead. Jason, the only way to bring peace now is your death." Tears fell down her face as she walked away, no longer able to stand it. "I'm sorry..."
Plaguewalker
Dorjee winced at Tobi's punch to Jason's face. "Oooo...that had to hurt." He said, shaking his head quietly. The Unwanted scratched at his messy brown hair, amazed it was still there. "Thought I would have gone bald after wearing these covers for so lo-OW!" The pain in his arm roared the moment his adrenaline rush faded, sending him into a frenzy of swears.

| Here is pages 61-63.
Fire Lord "Twisted her meaning?" he mumbled.
Tobi's punch caused his head to jerk to one side, but Jason no move to acknowledge or retaliate.
"Could I have? I don't know..."
He coughed again, looking up at Thomas.
"Thomas, if you can hear me under there, I want you to know...I'm sorry. Call me what you want, but you must understand; everything I did, I did with the best intentions. I...I wanted this place to be good for everyone. I...I wanted to make her happy...just one last time."
His eyes began to grow wide.
"But...there was no way I could have known what she truely meant. If I did twist her meaning...then Thomas, for that I am sorry. I would never purposely twist Ty Lu's meaning...that I swear."
Jason's breathing began to slow, his eyes losing their focus on Thomas.
"I...wish things had been different, Thomas. I can't help but wonder...what if I never met Ty Lu? What if I never promised her? Could I have been like you? Thomas...could we have been friends?"
Jason coughed up one last splatter of blood.
"Ty Lu...forgive...me..."
Jason's slow breathing sieced, and something in his eyes seemed to fade as he slowly fell back. He landed with a soft thud on the stage floor, and Jason moved no more.
(Duh duh. I tried to make it as sympathetic as possible)
Casey Jewels Thomas watched with a blank expression as Jason hit the ground. He let out a low snarl of anger and regret, allowing his beast to vent some of his frustration at not being able to end it. But then he relented and gave Thomas full control.
The Unwanted's face changed rapidly, going from anger to despair. He sank to his knees and let out a sob. And his fears rose up once again, for neither his anger nor his beast was fighting it any longer. He had failed. Alice... she had died because he hadn't been there to save her. And he hadn't even been able to avenge her...
He slammed a fist into the ground while letting out a frustrated cry. If Jason was to be believed, then he wasn't truly guilty. He had just done what he had thought to be right. But...
Thomas's eyes widened in sudden realization. "He did what he thought was right, no matter the cost," he whispered and his eyes flickered over Jason's still body. "And I..." He let out another sob, this one shaking his entire body. "I've been acting just like him..."
And it was true. During this entire fight, he had just been doing what he thought was right, not really caring about the price. He had been so intent on vengance, so sure that it was the right way to go... And he had been so intent on ending the reign of terror here... Alice and Fuegar had both died because he was too busy trying to do what he thought was right to protect them. And... he had almost switched sides, when Jason had nearly convinced him that he was in the wrong. What would have happened, had things gone differently? What would have happened had Jason convinced him to turn on the others?
"I would have become just like him," he whispered, answering himself. "I would have become just like him..."
"Could we have been friends?"
The two of them were so alike, much more than Thomas would have liked to admit. They both defended the weak. They both did what was right, or at least what they thought was right. They both believed that the end justified the means. They both wished to have lived a different life.
"Yes." Thomas slowly held out a hand and then closed Jason's eyes. "I think we could have been... friends."
Georgie Tobi watched, her chest heaving as Jason died and then Thomas sunk to his knees and spoke words that sounded far off to Tobi. Her chest screamed for attention, her mind was blurred and yet, she could feel the rage of emotions clearly, each of them roaring painfully inside of her. She had lost her best friend, her love and many of those who had defended her.
She looked at Thomas and moved slowly across to him, sinking to her knees beside him and looking at him, deep into his sad eyes. She stared, threw her arms around him and began to cry into his shoulder.
Casey Jewels Thomas was a little surprised at finding Tobi crying into his shoulder, but didn't seem to react at all to it. He slowly reached up and began to pat her back.
"Tobi, I... I'm sorry. I didn't..." He drifted off, unsure of what exactly he was apologizing for. But his gentle patting never stopped. He slipped his other arm around her and pulled her a little closer, trying his best to comfort her. But he couldn't help but wish that it was Alice crying into his shoulder, instead of Tobi.
Georgie
"Don't you dare!" Tobi gasped angrily into his shoulder, sobbing still. "D-don't you dare a-a-apologise to a mo-monster! It's m-my fault, everything th-that happened... I was f-f-fooled by a liar... A-and you t-t-tried to warn me..." She blubbered, digging her nails into the back of his shirt in fury at herself.
"I h-hurt so many... I a-lways do-o... I sh-shouldn't be alive... A-Alice should have li-lived." Tobi cried harder still, shaking beneath Thomas's clutch. She needed to feel loved, but knew she could never.
Casey Jewels Thomas felt the claws digging into his bare back, but the physical pain was nothing compared to the pain in his heart. "No," he whispered to her. "It isn't your fault. I was very nearly fooled by his words on several occasions. And it was his words that stopped me from saving Alice and Fuegar. If anyone's to blame, it's me."
He gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek and then tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. The kiss held no meaning to him, but he hoped that it would help Tobi in some shape or form. "We're all monsters here, Tobi. That's what this school is for--the monsters of society. This is just a place to hold us, to seperate us from society." He pulled back a little and tenderly lifted up her head so that they were eye-to-eye. "But this can also be a place where we learn more about ourselves, and how to control the beast inside of us."
He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself enough to continue. "No, not just control. To vanquish the beast inside of us. And I'm not talking the beast that... that talks to us and wants blood and violence and all that. No..., I'm talking about a different kind of beast. And Alice and Fuegar... and everybody else that died tonight... Their deaths will help us to become better people, to become stronger people. They..." He shook his head and moved his finger away from Tobi's head, too choked up to continue.

Tobi paused, feeling Thomas's lips against her cheek. She knew there was nothing in the kiss, she had known he had feeling for Alice for a long time, giggling about it with Alice on a few occasions about it. Tobi felt that sickening twist in her stomach as memories of her bestfriend came flooding back to her.
"I j-just w-wanted to f-feel l-loved by so-someone..." Tobi whispered quietly, shame flooding her viens. She felt her head lift by hhis control and her blue eyes met with his, she couldn't blink, she wouldn't. "Thomas... Y-you're b-being too strong for u-us all... A-Alice meant so much to us-to y-you a-and I am al-always going to feel like I am r-responsible for h-her death." Tears trickled down her face, pain churning inside her.
She had broken Thomas's heart in a way, she couldn't forgive herself for that.
"Their d-deaths are m-my fault Thomas! I k-killed them! I can't l-live an-anymore! I w-wish Jason had-" Tobi swallowed hard, her voice breaking as she looked away.
Casey Jewels
Thomas shook his head, still too choked up to speak. The blame was his, no matter what Tobi said. He had known that Alice would be a target, for she was their leader. He had known that the Haters were going to strike that night. He had known that Jason was a tricky fellow, one that would do whatever it took to win. He had known..., but still he had allowed himself to be fooled, to be distracted. But it was pointless trying to argue this with Tobi. He could see why she would blame herself. He probably would as well, were he in her position. But... it just wasn't her fault.
"Y-you..." He cleared his throat. "You wish Ja... he had what?" he asked slowly, wanting to get off of this topic of blame. He wasn't sure if asking her this would, but it was worth a shot.
Georgie
Tobi looked away still, her eyes streaming tears now. "I w-wish Jason h-had... I w-wish he'd killed me... E-everyone w-would be safe then, and I d-don't think anyone w-would care... N-now that e-everyone I l-l-loved has go-" She stopped again, swallowing loud as she groaned quietly, the pain in her chest singing peircingly.
"I'm s-sorry Thomas... S-so s-sorry..." She cried.
Casey Jewels
Thomas let out a low groan at her words. "Tobi..." He swallowed hard, trying to fight off his feelings. But the more time that passed, the more he reflected on things. And the more he reflected on things, the deeper into despair he fell. And the toxin in his system wasn't helping in the slightest.
"You're..." He bit down hard on his lip, trying to get the images out of his head--images of Alice dying, images of him not being able to do anything about it, and images of Tobi attacking Alice. They just continued to cycle about in his head, and he couldn't help but ask himself what he had done wrong.
"Don't be sorry," he said, deciding to try once more. "You were confused. So was I. We made mistakes. We..." Alice... He bit down harder on his lip and continued on, taking a slightly different approach. "Do you care for me?" he asked, suddenly curious.
Georgie
Tobi shook her head, disbelieving his words, she was sorry. She always would be, she had been a fool and her friends had paid the price. Alice had died, Fuegar had been killed. The Unwanted was her home, her safety net and she ripped through it like a knife. She was disgusting, filthy as many before her had called her kind. And she seriously began to believe it...
She considered asking Thomas to end it no-
Tobi stopped, blinked at him. "W-what do y-you mean? O-Oh-Of course I do..." She nodded, her long white hair matted with blood tossed around her naked shoulders.
Casey Jewels
Thomas smiled grimly at her, his face showing no signs of his internal battle with his despair and the toxin. "You just said that everyone you loved has died, but how can that be the case when you care about me? I'm not dead, am I?"
But things would be so much better if I was, at least for me. But no, he knew that killing himself wasn't the way to go right now. Tobi needed him, she needed him to be strong. But it was so hard, when all he wanted to do was curl about into a miserable little ball and just let his despair take over. It was so hard fighting it like this, with the toxin on top of it...
Georgie Tobi's eyes widened and she simply stared at Thomas for a while, her eyes looking into his. She smiled weakly, her chest tight as pain wound within and her lips began to quake.
"T-thankyou Thomas..." Tobi whispered, kissing his lips softly, affectionately but in a way of friendship, grattiude, and apologetically. Within her, she knew he craved and missed Alice with every fibre of his being, this they had in common. Thomas was a brave, strong boy who Tobi knew she could count on, but she couldn't bear to put that pressure upon him. She had destroyed his love, her hope of family and friendship - a normal life. And she could never forgive herself for that, ever.
Tobi gasped as the pain in chest became too much and she fell forward onto her hands that shook feebly beneath the sudden shift of weight. Her eyes widened and a splatter of blood slapped the floor beneath her head.
Casey Jewels
Thomas stiffened up at the kiss and his eyes widened in alarm. But then he realized that this was her way of apologizing to him, so he didn't push her away. Of course, he was still in too much shock from it to even begin thinking of pushing her away and, by the time that the thought had entered his tired brain, she had already pulled away.
"Tobi," he cried out as she hit the ground. "Tobi!" He instantly was right there beside her with an arm draped loosely over her shoulder. "Please," he whispered and leaned down, trying to catch her eye. "You can't... you can't die on me too."
A tear or two hit the ground as a new fear flared up in him--the fear of losing Tobi.
Plaguewalker
Dorjee bit his lip, trying to stop the strong of curses. He somehow managed to get himself back to his feet, wincing as he let the arm hang. He slowly moved towards Tobi and Thomas, concerned over both their well being. He came to a stop next to them, looking down with his tired green eyes. "Tobi..." He murmured, praying to whatever gods were out there that she would be alright.
manysidestome
"Rachel, what do you say we mourn tonight, the sacrafice of those who tried to bring peace. Despite their war, all anybody wanted was peace. I think we should hold off on leaving until tommorrow," Raqueal said. "I hope you agree."
iamkatara
Rachel nodded. "Thtat's all right with me. I never really had a close friend except you, but i will mourn the loss. Of everyone." She smiled faintly at him. "Let's go in."
manysidestome
"Yes, I know that many of those who fought were those you have known, maybe not well, but still," Raqueal said. He walked back toward the building, and he bowed his head. He had grieved for the dead fish not long ago, now he grieved for the dead fools, and the dead innocents, the same feeling inside him. It was none of his business what happened, but he could have tried to put a stop to it.
Fire Lord
The lead Hater who had rebelled against Scarecrow slowly looked around the broken stage. Any civilians still in the room were being treated along with any wounded Unwanted or Haters.
The Hater sighed, his eyes wandering about the stage to spot the bodies of Alice, Peace, Marcus, and Feugar.
"Your orders, Maam?" asked the Hater, turning to look down at Faith.
"Shall we gather them up?"
Georgie Tobi's eyes spilled tears as blood dribbled from her mouth in a broken pour. She felt for Thomas's hand shakily on her shoulder, grabbed it and squeezed it tightly as she cried out in pain, the poison within her was moving in for the kill upon her nerves and the wound in her chest wept tears of red.
"Th-Thomas... S-sor..." She panted, a loud moan of pain choking her apology off as she squeezed his hand tighter, the agony unbearable. Her body shook, her eyes unfocused, refocused. She looked up at Dorjee, smiled weakly and collapsed into unconciousness.
Casey Jewels Thomas stared down at her, then up at Dorjee, and then back down at Tobi. He reached out with a trembling hand and placed two fingers on her neck, feeling for a pulse.
"Still alive," he whispered. "She's still alive." Thanks goodness for that. He looked back at Dorjee. "Watch over her," he murmured and climbed to his feet. "We can't afford to lose anyone else."
He then started towards Alice's still frame, desperately needing her guidance. Or Fuegar's. Or somebody's. But no. Now he was the strong one. Now he was the one that the others seemed to be turning to--or Tobi was, anyways. But he certainly did feel qualified for something like that.
"It should have been me," he said as he came to a halt beside Alice. "It should have been me."

| Plaguewalker Dorjee froze up when Tobi collasped, but sighed in relief when Thomas said she was alive. He sat next to her, and gently pulled her into his lap. She'd be safest there. He wouldn't let anything happen to her. He stroked her cheek quietly, not caring who could see or what they'd say. She was all the mattered right now.
TokoToTheEnd Faith listened to Tobi's and Thomas's conversation and she fell to her knees again, sobbing. She hadn't heard the Hater. She felt so guilty. It was her fault for Alice's and Peace's death. They died protecting her. And no one saying anything about it, made her guilt grow. She was responsible and she wanted to be told so. Faith wanted to be yelled at for her sister's and almost friend's death.
"I'm so sorry. It's my fault. I..."
Casey Jewels Thomas dropped down beside Alice, too distracted by his grief to hear Faith. He slid his arms underneath Alice's body and tenderly held her close to him. "Oh, Alice," he whispered and kissed her hair. "Alice... I'm sorry. Can you ever forgive me?"
He stared at her, his eyes dull with grief. There was only her and him. Nothing else existed. Nothing else mattered. "Forgive me..." He leaned his head down and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. And then he gave her another, this one more fierce than the first. And then another. And another.
He wasn't sure why he was doing this. After all, she was in a better place now. But he couldn't help it. Love's true kiss always seemed to bring the other back in all of those fairy tales. So why couldn't it work here? A lot of those fairy tales were based on truth.
"Wake up..."
Plaguewalker
"Thomas, she won't wake up." Dorjee's voice was quiet, as he glanced at the boy. "She's never going to wake up." The demon didn't move, only his face having turned to look. His body still cradled Tobi, his hand softly stroking her face. "She's dead, and that isn't going to change."
manysidestome "The grief in this room is immense," Raqueal noted quietly, back in and looking around. "So many have died. My heart soars among them, all of it collected is overwhelming. " He felt tears slide down his face as the grief of everyone in the room hit him, it was almost too much to bear. "There should be a monument to those who died to bring peace to this place."
TokoToTheEnd
Faith went to Thomas and put her hand on his shoulder, in concern. She was still crying, but se had to apologies to him. She took away his love. Glancing at Fuegar's body, Faith felt a cold shiver. She knew how he felt, but he wouldn't be able to understand how she felt.
"I'm sorry, Thomas. This is all my fault."
Fire Lord The Hater ackwardly stepped back, unsure what to do by Faith's breakdown. He turned back towards his fellow Haters and the Unwanted and nodded his head slighlty and quickly. The group spread across the stage, retreiving the bodies of Peace and Marcus, as well and lifting the fallen debris on Feugar and retrieving it as well. Alice's body they left with Thomas.
The lead Hater stayed by Faith, overseeing the others and still remaining like a shield near her.
Casey Jewels Thomas paused, allowing time for the words to sink in. And then he shook his head and slowly glanced back at Dorjee. "No," he whispered, his voice hoarse. "She will. She hast too!" He looked back down at Alice and then, with a wild sob, buried his head in Alice's clothing.
He felt a hand on his shoulder, but didn't have the strength to glanced up to see who it was. But then she spoke, and he instantly knew who it was.
Faith... It was all of her fault, wasn't it? Alice had died saving her. So if he... Thomas shook his head and turned away from her, slightly surprised at the wave of hate that had surged over him.
TokoToTheEnd "You're not alone. I didn't want to be saved. I didn't even know what had happened until it did. But it did. We lost people we love. It was a civil war." Faith shallowed hard, and went on. "We have to accept it. I didn't want Alice to die. Nor my sister. My sister...." Faith began crying again. She couldn't believe she was an only child. The others may have lost friends and lovers, but Faith lost a part of herself. She and Peace were rarely ever apart for long period of times. Peace was her best friend and her confident. But now she was dead. Faith removed her hand, biting her lip. "I'm sorry, but if you will please say and with everyone's help we can make the school what it should be. A place for everyone."
Fire Lord The lead Hater bowed his head towards Faith and Thomas.
"Maam, myself and the Haters that follow me would like to serve you now, if you'll permit it. We want to make this place better for everyone, the right way."
The other Haters that stood behind him bowed their heads as well.
Casey Jewels Thomas shook his head once more. "No," he whispered as he lifted his head a little, just enough to speak clearly. "I'm not staying here. I can't stay here." He rocked back and forth, running his fingers through Alice's hair. "I need... to leave. To get out of here."
It was becoming clear to him now, what he had to do. He wanted to be alone. He needed to be alone. The falls... Yes, the falls. That's where he would go. That's where all of his answers lay.
The young teen climbed to his unsteady feet, Alice still in his arms. He would take her there with him. And then they would leave together, hand-in-hand. And they would roam the world together, just the two of them. But first, he had to get there.
TokoToTheEnd Faith smiled, glad at that. She knew that with help she could do it.
"Thanks. And what about the remaining Unwanted?"
She quietly watched Thomas, feeling bad. Her guilt bubbled up, but Faith ignored it. It would do no good now.
Fire Lord The lead Hater raised his head enough to look at Faith in the eyes.
"I think it's obvious, Maam. Now that Alice is gone, you are now in charge of the Unwanted. I and the Haters will not follow anyone else, and I'm sure the Unwanted feel the same way. We will only follow you Miss Faith."
Casey Jewels But she killed you, Thomas thought bitterly as he stared down at Alice's broken and battered body. She's the reason that I'm no longer whole.
He took another step forward, and another step away from Faith. "I promise you, Alice," he whispered. "That I'll never allow anyone to be hurt like you ha..." That's when he recalled Jason's words, and his eyes went wide.
"Stop it!" he snarled at himself. "Just stop it!" Faith hadn't meant for Alice to die. He was just as guilty of Alice's death as she was. It was just...
He shook his head and snapped his wings open, intent on leaving and never coming back.
TokoToTheEnd Faith nodded and then turned to Thomas, smiling.
"You'll always have a place here, Thomas if you want to come back before you get too old. I hope you find happiness. Good bye."
Faith then went to talk to the Unwanted. She could feel Peace and Alice watching her. Proud of her. She felt a wave of joy and warmth.

"Goodbye," Thomas whispered. But the goodbye wasn't just for Faith, it was for everyone. He didn't plan on ever coming back here, for it held way too many memories of pain and suffering.
And then he was up in the air, flying towards the closest window. He landed lightly on the windowsill and pushed the window open with his foot. The wave of fresh air felt good against his bare skin, and it also helped to clear his head a little.
The Unwanted glanced back at Fuegar's still body. "Thanks you..., friend. Thank you for eveything."
manysidestome "You're welcome, Thomas," Fuegar's spirit answered, rising from the body, watching the unwanted getting ready to leave. He wasn't sure if he could be seen or heard, but that mattered little to him. He had little time before he left this life. "Goodbye Faith, take care of this school," Fuegar said, and then was taken from the school, to another demon colony far away, where his spirit would reincarnate to the next posseser of the pure flame body. He would be born anew.
Fire Lord The lead Hater walked up to Jason's body, looking down at him with an expressionless face.
"I hope...Jason...that you've finally found your peace. I'm sorry for what we had to do but...I think you understand. And I hope that whatever demon Scarecrow was...is finally dead."
At the conclusion of these words something caught the the leader's eye. He looked down at the severed remains of Scarecrow's mask. He carefully picked the two pieces up and rested them in his hands. Without Jason behind it, the eyeholes of the mask were empty and the shape distorted. However, the Hater could swear that he could see the contours of an evil smile etched on the mask itself.
The Hater shook his head, and shoved the mask into his cloak.
iamkatara Rachel walked around, looking from side to side at the bodies strewn on the ground. Some she had met before, but others she was staring at their face for the first time. Their eyes were so still and lifeless. She shed a tear at teh thought that they would never see the light of day again. She grew roses from the ground and placed one on Fuegar, Peace, Marcus, and finally Jason's body. She would never forget them.
She walked over to Raqueal. "Are you ready?"
Casey Jewels Thomas nodded in response to the strange sense of gratitude he felt--gratitude towards himself. But that feeling was quickly chased out by his fears, his grief, and all of his other emotions. Then he turned back towards the night sky, which was just beginning to lighten.
He leaned forward, letting himself fall out of the window and towards the ground. His wings snapped wide open and then he was off, flying away from the known, and flying into the unknown. It was time to take charge of his own life, even if he was only thirteen. But first...
He stared down at Alice. "I'll make it better," he whispered to her. "I'll fix everything. I'll bring you back. And then... we'll live happily ever after."
manysidestome Raqueal nodded and stepped out into the cold night air again, looking toward the moon. "There are no certainties in life beyond this, whether I find others like myself, or Rachel and I are the only ones we know of. Either way, I feel that it will be a good life, one with peace and prosperity. Tonight is the end of one story, tommorrow is the start or a new, better one. One that will hopefully show that my heart has not hardened beyond repair."
iamkatara Rachel stepped beside Raqueal and then rushed into the cold night hovering on the field. She closed her eyes and breathed in the air. It was a different feeling than she expected. Her mind thought it would be tense, but as she exhaled, she felt a sense of serenity and happiness. She thought about what would happen to her. How her life would be after the school. Hiding and being shy was all that she had ever known. This school changed her, and for the better. She smiled. "Everything is going to be different now. My view on life has changed. When I came to this school, I was a shy young bookworm. By the time I left... I don't know. I've grown stronger and smarter in ways I don't understand. But that's how life is I guess. End one adventure, start another."
She turned back to Raqeal. "Let's get outta here." With that, she was gone.
Jenna stepped out of the school. and into the night. "Hello? Helloooo?" She stomped her foot. "I miss everything. Dam*i*."
manysidestome "I'm right behind you," Raqueal said, taking a last glance at this school. It represented the whole human race within its walls, and Raqueal was sad, yet glad, to be leaving it. He dissappeared into the night, not knowing to what he would be destined, but hoped it led to others of his kind. The humans were nice, but they just differed so much from him that he felt homesick for his own poeple.
OOC: Oh yeah, just to be clear, Fuegar's body is in his demon form, not the human one.
Finally finished. I did the math out and it took me around 19 hours to reformat this RP (that might explain my lack of word count on Midnight). | |
