Dawn of a New Prince (Star Wars/Avatar Crossover)

"I can keep up, whichever way you choose to go," he told her before turning to Aang, "But we must choose, quickly. You are the Avatar, Aang. The decision lies with you."

Aang

"We can't run forever. Sooner or later, we'll have to face Vader. It may as well end here." Aang declared, gripping his staff tightly.

Mai

Mai noticed how nervous Ty lee was. Probably because of Azula, Mai knew, but Ty also probably just hated being in this situation at all. The girl had always hated fighting, said it ruined auras or something. Still, Mai was willing to endure the aura crap. Especially when considering that Ty lee is the one constant person in her life, up to now. Mai valued Ty lee's bright presence most of the time, not that she would ever tell her friend. She didn't really have to though, Ty lee seemed to know anyways.

"Are you sure you don't want a gun? Poking everything isn't going to do much out here now," Mai stated with a put upon sense of calm.

Lilith

Lilith ran across the unstable stone bridge as quickly as possible, luckily having little trouble crossing, despite the fact that parts of it were crumbling as she ran past. After crossing though, Lilith was still a few hundred feet below the Temple, and probably even further below then where the Avatar and his friends were.

Lilith looked up and sighed, partially in annoyance with her incompetence, but also in relief at the fact that she very well might miss the entire fight.

Azula

Azula look towards Iroh, in slight surprise that her Uncle had outright attacked one of the ships when for all he knew, Zuko might be in one of them. It was impressive to Azula, almost. But there was no time to make a sarcastic quip in reply, as all the ships had managed to land successfully.

The Fire Nation Princess looked towards the Guru, then towards Sokka in disapproval. "Running would be useless, Vader has the ability to sense people's ... whatever, it hardly matters how he does it right now, all that matters is that he can do it," Azula pointed out, almost calm, as she walked towards the group, pulling her hair back and tying it up so that it wouldn't get in her face during the upcoming battle. "All that would happen if we ran is that the sky bison would be abandoned, we would waste energy, and then we would be attacked in a most likely non defensible area. The very idea of it..." Azula stopped talking as she let the words slip off, knowing that the impact of her words had already been made, no doubt.

"Don't worry, I can dodge pretty fast and I'm pretty sure they won't try to kill me. Well, Azula might, but I stand a better chance against her if I stick to my fighting style," she told Mai thoughtfully.

"Okay, but shouldn't we get into a more defensible position?" Sokka asked, looking uncertainly at the Temple, "For all we know, this place could collapse."

Zareal

"They landed in different places," Zareal said, thoughtfully. "We need to go on the attack before they regroup. If Vader's alone, we might be able to take him out, especially if he's seperated from his apprentice."

"And the others? We need a rear guard or something to keep them back," Sokka suggested with a frown, "Otherwise, we'd be trapped between Vader and his allies."

Mai

"Well if you're sure," Mai stated while sighing loudly. Ty was right, she would probably be fine. It would be better if Azula never saw her at all though. Safer, at least.

Mai looked towards Zahanna, waiting for the decision on whatever they should do next.

Azula

Azula finished tying up her hair into a top knot as Sokka continued to drill on about their need for defense.

"Why don't you use the Earthbender? She could probably take care of Vader's soldiers."

"The Earthbender has a name, you know," muttered Toph. "And she's standing right here. Either talk to me to my face, or don't talk at all, princess."

Azula

"Oh I apologize, I suppose I forgot your name," Azula said callously as she rolled her eyes in frustration with the earthbender's insolence. "Besides, I highly doubt it matters if I'm looking at you or not. It's not like you'll see," the Princess pointed out. She didn't really care if Toph pointed out that she was a royal, it was certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Especially not when compared to being a peasant or monk or something awful like that.

"That's not gonna hurt me. I make fun of my blindness all the time," said Toph, crossing her arms. "And if you want my help, you better start remembering my name. Having a title doesn't make you a goddess. You're stuck with us, we're risking our hides looking out for you, so maybe you should consider treating us with some respect. If you want respect back, I mean, princess."

Sokka frowned, glaring at Azula. He really couldn't stand the girl right now, but they needed to focus on Vader and the others now. He spoke, "I'll keep watch for the others. I can probably take most of them out before they come near me."

"Right," said Toph, turning her attention completely away from Azula. "I can do that too."

Azula

A few shards of earth fell around them as a, now rare, smirk sat on Azula's face. The earthbender's insolent demands were now very amusing, though Azula didn't care. Considering the circumstances and all.

"Wonderful, now are you done wasting everyone's time now?"

"Shut-up," said Toph, waving a dismissive hand at Azula. "You're not important right now. We're trying to come up with a plan of action here, so be quiet."

Sokka nodded in agreement, smirking a little at Toph's words. Even around possibly murderous Fire Nation royalty, she was as blunt as ever.

"Alright, so you guys attack Vader and I'll keep his allies off your back," Sokka said, ignoring Azula.

Pathik nodded and gripped his staff, "You all stay back. I'll keep Vader's lightsaber busy."

Azula

"Very well then. Everyone do what is suggested by our brilliant strategist here," Azula offered in a manner that almost seemed sarcastic, but was essentially impossible to tell whether or not she meant it. "Good luck everyone, I really hope that Vader doesn't kill you," she continued on before walking away.

Azula knew where Zuko had landed, the stormtroopers and Vader's men were most likely skilled at flying their little ships. The metallic beast that Uncle had shot at however, well whoever was flying that had no idea what they were doing. If it was Zuko then Azula would have her revenge and move on. If it happened to be a recruit of sorts, then Azula would find out where Zuko was, kill the recruit, and move on.

Toph just shook her head at Azula. Any other time, she might have snapped back, but not now. Now, they had to fight for their lives, and protecting her friends was more important than laying down a stupid princess.

"And I'll watch your back," she told Sokka.

Katara bit her lip. "We're going to make it out of this," she said. "All of us, together."

Zareal/Iroh

"Mara and I should go confront Vader," Zareal said. "We're the only ones who stand a chance against him." "I will come with you," Iroh stated.

Pathik nodded, "Very well then. I will confront Zuko then. He may not be fully consumed by the Dark Side yet."

He sighed as he looked toward where Azula went, "Poor girl. Very foolish of her. I'll have to follow her quickly."

With that said, he followed after the Fire Nation Princess, making sure to be silent and keep out of her sight.

((For the sake of the plot and to keep my plan intact, the Guru needs to stay with Toph, Katara, and Sokka, AI.))

Aang, Mara

"Right now I need to complete my mastery over the Avatar State. I've come close the past few days, and if I have a little more time, I can finish it. Once I'm fully able to control the Avatar State, I should be a lot more useful in dealing with Vader and Zuko." Aang said.

"Very well. That sounds acceptable to me." Mara said.

Zahanna

"Time to go." Zahanna declared. She checked her blaster rifle one last time to make sure it was working properly, and looked over at Mai and Ty Lee. She noticed the Dai Li had started to walk off, no doubt going to find their master or whatever. It didn't really matter to her.

"You two ready?"

(Understood).

The Guru frowned. It seemed that Azula had slipped away. He sighed. His tracking days were over, it seemed. He returned.

"I'll have to stick by you, then," Pathik told the Avatar.

Sokka nodded and peered out the door, "I'll say something if I see anything."

Ty Lee nodded, managing a small smile, "They won't know what hit them."

Mai

"Lets get this over with," Mai answered as she got a steady grip on her blaster rifle. It was good that the Dai lee were going ahead first. They would at least smooth out a path or something.

Lilith

Lilith grunted in pain as her hands went raw, having been scraped too much in her attempts at climbing up the crevasse. The fighting hadn't started yet, unfortunately. Lilith could tell based just on how quiet it was above her. That would change soon though, Lilith mentally noted.

Mara

"Right. You ready, then?" Mara asked Zareal and Iroh.

Fi

A rope extended down from where Lilith was currently climbing. At the top of her destination, Fi was holding the other end of the rope.

"Need a hand?" he shouted down at her.

Darth Vader

"To everyone who is listening, I am sending you my current coordinates over the comlink. Converge on my location, and we can then move on from there." the Dark Lord said through the comm.

Zahanna

"Good. Let's find us a Jedi, then. Just make sure you two are careful. I wouldn't want to lose either of you on this mission." Zahanna said in a surprisingly caring tone.

Mai

Mai's eyebrows almost raised in surprise at Zahanna's request, but the girl maintained her cool demeanor. Without waiting a few more seconds, Mai walked down the ships ramp and went outside. The Dai lee had done nothing to make out a path for them to walk down, Mai noted to herself as she looked out at the ruins and terrain.

Lilith

Lilith gasped in surprise and exhaustion as she saw the rope fall beside her. But when she looked up and saw that Fi was the one who had dropped it, Lilith felt a little better about her situation.

"Thank you," She said before grabbing onto the rope.

Zareal/Iroh

"Yes," Iroh responded. "Let's go, while they're seperated," Zareal said, and led them on. He could feel the Dark Side emanating from the Sith, stronger than his apprentice or Mara. He felt such hatred for the man, ruining lives, destroying the order, and had calmed himself down in the past, but now it was getting harder, the thought of bringing him down, facing justice.

Helios

Helios knew he should go to Vader, that it would probably be best if they joined forces here. But that would have to wait, Zuko's sister was coming, and he would face her, and destroy her completely.
