Zahanna

Zahanna nodded at Mai and left with Ty Lee, guiding the girl toward their shared apartment.

Fi

"You killed your father?" Fi asked curiously, trying not to sound too nosy or accidentally offend her.

Long Feng

"Believe me, my dear, this alliance with that mechanical tin can will be worth it. With him as my ally, this entire world will come under my control! I can only go higher from there. Even better, you and your pestering friends cannot bother me anymore." Long Feng boosted.

Helios

"Do I frighten you," Helios asked, offbeat from the way their conversation had been going. He could tell she was uncomfortable, but then she had never really been at home showing emotion, though she had with him. Was she just feeling awkward, or could she sense his power? He honestly couldn't say whether he preferred her to fear him or accept him, but it would say much about her.

(Okay. Cool.)

"Um...." Sokka started, blushing a little at the realization that he really didn't know where Aang and Katara were, or the off-worlders for that matter. That was another name he came up with. It sounded clever to him.

"Not really," he confessed at last.

Katara scowled. "Wow. You're beginning to believe your own lies," she said. "I would feel sorry for you, if you hadn't done everything in your power to hurt my friends."

"I didn't think so," said Toph, and there was no taunting in her voice. She was just stating a fact. She rubbed her forehead. "Let's see here... This place is way too big for me to pinpoint anyone. I'd have to be close to Katara and Aang. And it's not like we can just ask for directions."

She offered one of her rare blinks.

"Sokka, why don't we become Dai Li?"

"What, are you crazy?! They're weird and souless and... you have a plan, don't you?" he asked her with a grin. Did he ever tell her how glad he was that she was added to their team. He frowned, however, "We're both a little short to be Dai Li."

"I know. But it might buy us a little time," she said. "More than if we were just ourselves, anyway. They might be more willing to talk if they think we're one of them, too." Toph held her injured arm close, hating how badly it hurt still. "If we're gonna do it, though, we'll need some Dai Li robes."

Sokka nodded before thinking of something, "You should sit on my shoulders. That way we'll look like an unusually tall Dai Li loser instead of two suspiciously short ones."

He smiled, satisfied with that plan before leading her down the hallway, "Come on, I think I saw storage room around here."

(LOL. Big T, you got to have Katara say, "You're a little tall for a Dai Li agent." Little tribute to Star Wars. )

Toph followed him. "Okay," she said. "While we're in there, can we find something to bandage my arm with?"

She did not want to complain, but she figured asking for bandaging, for some sort of medical care, would tell him that her maimed arm was bothering her.

(Please?! I'll give Sokka to Toph! Wait... I'm already a Tokka shipper, at least when Sokka can't have a polygamous relationship... )

Sokka frowned as they found a storage room, nodding a bit at basket of uniforms. He turned to Toph and asked her, "How is your arm? I'd like a look at it. Just to make sure it's okay."

Without waiting for her reply, he was already walking around the small room, searching for a cache of medical supplies.

"Okay..." she said. "I mean, sure, you can look at my arm, 'cause it's definitely not okay." She flushed, feeling somewhat humiliated. "It hurts." She pushed back her tattered sleeve so that he would be able to have a good look at her arm. "There you go. Be careful, though."

Mai

Mai paused for a few seconds as she suddenly looked directly into Zuko's eyes, a sharp contrast from her previous expression. She studied them for a few seconds, almost looking like Iroh, or even Ursa, as she tried to figure out how she felt about the boy. "No." She finally answered, a calmness washing over her after she made her decision.

Lilith

Lilith bit her lip as she sat up. "Yeah...Though it was an accident." She stressed to Fi, for some reason worrying that he would judge her for this.

Fi

"How did it happen?" Fi asked in an almost understanding tone.

Long Feng

"Believe me, my dear, it was only for the good of Ba Sing Se. My city was perfect, until you scoundrels came to ruin it all. I could not let you destroy what I had worked so hard to build these past few decades." Long Feng retorted, speaking in a condescending tone.

"Okay," Sokka muttered as he examined her arm, a roll of bandages in his hand. It was cauterized, like he noted before, and there didn't seem to be any sign of infection, thank the Spirits.

"This might sting a little," he told her softly as he slowly wrapped the bandages around it, trying not to wrap it too tight.

(Sokka likes the idea. )

Helios

Helios smiled, though it did little to help his appearance. His scar had never looked so menacing, as though he had it done purposely to make him more intimidating. However, he took her hand and leaned in closer to her, feeling inside relieved that she didn't appear to be lieing now. "I am so glad to hear that, Mai," he said softly.

Lilith

"It was my day to drive the Tractor, but I slept in a few hours late. When I woke up, I rushed outside and got on the damn thing as quickly as possible so no one would notice, I had hoped." Lilith informed Fi with a grim look on her face. "So I skipped the safety procedures, didn't even check to see if anyone was out in the field. Now, you know how wheat is grown out in the Tyn system of planets. It's almost six yards tall, great for mass production. Anyways, I suppose all I can say is that if I had followed the safety procedures and just check to see if someone was out there, I would have known my Father was inspecting the roots of the crop, and I wouldn't have run him over....."

Mai sighed as Zuko grabbed onto her hands. "I've missed you."

"So...." Ty Lee began, eyeing her new friend curiously, "You never said exactly where you are from. Are you Earth Kingdom or what? What city did you grow up in?"

Helios

Unsure of what to say, Helios decided on the truth and expressed a genuine emotion for the first time since meeting her again. "I've missed you too," he said. Despite everything that had happened lately, and his determination to destroy anyone who betrayed him, he still did feel something for Mai.

Mai

Mai released Zuko's hands as she processed what was happening between them right now. "So you haven't hooked up with anyone else while you were gone." Mai commented calmly, changing the mood to a much lighter and less romantic one.

Helios

"Of course," Helios stated. "There aren't too many girls in the earth kingdom who like the Fire Nation, let alone a disgraced prince. Not that I happened to notice any, I was far too focused on my quest." He paused for a minute and, changing from a casual tone to a serious one, said, "there is something I need to ask you though. I overheard your friend say you were looking for my master. Why does she seek him out? And the last time I saw you and Ty Lee, you were with Azula. Where is she?"

Mai

Mai leaned against the wall behind her and sighed before she recounted the past few months to Zuko. "I ditched Azula about three weeks after we had seen each other, for whatever reason, Ty lee stayed with her. About forty days ago I met someone in the wild, Zahanna. She was blue when we met, and pretty damn ugly. Anyways after we were finished trying to kill each other, she made me a business offer and I accepted. So now I'm a bounty hunter or something, didn't really ask what the official title was." Mai explained as she lifted part of her robe, revealing the guns around her belt.

"And Ty lee? Well we picked her up about an hour ago. We shot Azula with a stun gun and left her in an alley way, she's probably still there."

Helios

Helios listened to her story, and sighed. "Well, Azula doesn't seem to be a threat anymore, at least," he said. He looked up at Mai and said, "then who's Zahanna after? If it's my master, she'd do better to find another line of work." He hadn't discounted the notion that it might be him, the Avatar, or one of the Force Users they had in custody.

Mai

"Don't worry, she doesn't overestimate her own strength like that. Spirits know I wouldn't be traveling with her if she did." Mai replied. "No, she wants some other Jedi, called him a light force user. Though I don't think she has any idea what that means either. His name is Zareal Procanth."

Helios

Helios slowly nodded, but didn't say anything. So, they want the Jedi. I don't care two ways about him, but Vader might have an issue with releasing him to some bounty hunter, he thought. "I suppose that I should bring your group to Vader then. Perhaps he'll be willing to reach an agreement with Zahanna," he said.

Mai

"Ok then. That's going to make her as happy as Ty lee for a few hours. She hasn't shut up about how this will pay for all the repairs to her ship and how we'll be set for at least six months." Mai replied apathetically.

Katara's hands clenched, tightening into fists. "You've doomed your city, by agreeing to help Vader. You can't trust him, Long Feng. Once you've outlived your usefulness, he'll just get rid of you."

Toph flinched as Sokka tended to her arm. It was not a pleasant experience, and despite her best efforts tears brimmed in her eyes. She kept telling herself that this was needed, that it would help her heal faster, that it would protect her arm.

Didn't make it hurt any less.
