+Anima the Roleplay part 2 (Because part 1 was burried alive.)

((Warning: reference to stuff you all might not recognize Amanda was unconcious and had some sort of dramatic mirror dream looking at her past including her birth, first birthday, first science fair project winning, etc..../went into the Dreamland New Moon zone and went all angstface to the sleeping people on the other side...))

Damien continued on his way to the hospital, to retrieve the supplies that Brian was asking him to collect. He purposely took winding neighborhood streets and part of a country road to get into town, buying him a few more minutes before he actually would arrive.

As soon as he was there, he had to wait at a stoplight, an ambulance passing by. He sighed. The weather was horrible, there was probably an accident somewhere. He waited for it to head into the hospital's lot before parking. He walked as casually as he could. The sirens were soon cut off nearby, and he couldn't help but look.

A stretcher emerged, a girl with cuts and gauze upon her head, damp clothes sticking to scratches and bruises and perhaps breaks beneath them, someone too familiar for his own comfort.

Amanda. There was no time for nonchalance. His former purposes left him, and he ran through the hospital doors, toward the ER.

Antha nodded, not sure what to say. But it was nice to have company as she walked. It was kind of scary to be outside alone. At least to her it was.

"So why were you in the hospital? Not that you have to tell me. You can just say it's none of my business. I won't be offended."

Carter followed the EMT's as they wheeled Amanda's stretcher was taken through the ER. He didn't care how many times they yelled at him to just stay in the waiting room; he wasn't going to leave her. Despite what had happened maybe a half hour ago, Carter couldn't leave Amanda like this. Even if she wasn't conscious, she needed him there.

As Carter was running, a flash of movement in the corner of his eye. Mr. Blake. How had he found out about Amanda already? Carter doubted that Amanda's parents even knew about this yet.

He stopped running and grabbed Mr. Blake's arm. "You're not going anywhere," Carter said in a deadly calm voice.

Damien was heading in the direction of the stretcher, only intending to figure out where she would be so he could see her when the personel were ready, when someone grabbed his arm. He turned his head to see who had stopped him, and found Carter, who'd taken Amanda into his house, the one he'd driven home earlier. He smothered a brief flare of anger at the sight of him.

"You're not going anywhere."

He shook him off.

"What the hell happened, Carter?" he said, his voice calm and steady. The boy did not threaten him. And he did wonder. He had just been near that street, how could things have changed so drastically so fast? Damien was not one to jump to conclusions, so he did not, but he sure did want to know how Amanda had wound up here. He heard Brian's message repeat in his head. Once again, he disregarded it. That didn't matter right now.

((MANFIGHTTYMEZ.))

"What the hell happened, Carter?"

"She got hit by a car. That's all I know," Carter replied, glaring up at Mr. Blake. He knew more, but he wasn't going to tell Mr. Blake anything that Carter deemed unnecessary for him to know. Like the fact that Amanda was knocked up with his baby.

Carter wondered how he could get to Amanda's room-- wherever she even was-- without Mr. Blake following him. It would only upset Amanda even more if Mr. Blake were there, and being upset was something that was most definitely not needed for a long time. Carter would literally stand in front of Amanda's door to keep Mr. Blake from going in there. Assuming that he found her room first.

Damien tensed. And he could see right through Carter, though he wasn't sure what more there was to know. Ignoring the glare, he passed Carter and started heading in the same direction that they had wheeled the stretcher in a few minutes ago. Some kid wasn't going to stop him from seeing Amanda. He needed to see her. He needed to know she was going to be okay.

Carter grabbed Mr. Blake's arm again, pulling him back away from wherever they had taken Amanda. Mr. Blake wasn't going to get to Amanda's room without a fight, and Carter was more than ready for a fight. He clenched his fist that wasn't grasping Mr. Blake's arm.

"Give me one good reason why I should let you go see Amanda," he growled, ready to throw punches. The very minimal, barely even existent muscle on Carter's arm stood out from how tense he was.

Damien pulled back from Carter again, and noted his fist. Carter had absolutely nothing against him, especially with his previous injuries.

"I have every right to see her, and why is none of your business. And if I were you, I wouldn't try to start a fight with me."

Once again unthreatened and unhindered, he continued on.

"I have every right to see her, and why is none of your business. And if I were you, I wouldn't try to start a fight with me."

"Just because you knocked her up, doesn't mean that you have ANY right to see her," Carter snarled. In response to what Mr. Blake had said about Carter not wanting to start a fight with him, he punched Mr. Blake on the neck, trying to remember where pressure points were. He glared, knowing this was an incredibly idiotic move, but he couldn't just let that creep go in and see Amanda.

((Damien had a very detailed flashback that no one ever ever ever wants to read ever))

Damien's eyes widened, staring at Carter in fury and disbelief. But he didn't have time to appropriately respond to him, being promptly punched in the neck. He coughed, feeling a incredible shock of pain wash through him. He didn't succumb to it, however. He used all the power in his hands to push him away, attempting to at least just knock him to the ground. Given the situation, Damien definitely didn't need to add physically assaulting a student to the list of strikes against him.

Carter felt a satisfied smirk plant itself on his lips at the look of shock and pain on Mr. Blake's face. However, when Mr. Blake pushed him back, he stumbled backwards, not quite losing his balance. Somehow, this made Carter angrier. He knew that Mr. Blake could have punched back harder, absolutely pounded him, but he didn't.

"What? Are you scared to fight me?" he demanded, shoving Mr. Blake back just as hard.

In the back of Carter's mind, he mentally laughed at this being the second hospital fight he had been involved in just that day. One to start out the day with Aidan, and one to end it, with Damien.

Damien noted how much angrier Carter seemed to grow at his half-hearted shove. He wasn't going to take any of the bait that Carter was trying to throw at him. He took a couple of steps backward, yet remained relatively steady, and shoved the boy back, though his pride was hurting. He didn't need this. Damien knew full well what he could do to Carter, but he couldn't afford to risk it. His anger swelled, yet he turned from him and took off in a run for Amanda's room.

Carter took a few steps back from the shove, but remained standing. The fact that Mr. Blake wouldn't fight back drove Carter nearly to insanity. He watched for a moment as Mr. Blake ran away from him before following. Carter used as much force in his legs as possible to spring from the ground and and tackle Mr. Blake.

In his mind, Carter tried to tell himself that he was doing this only for Amanda, but his barely existent conscience told him that a lot of it was probably just for himself. Carter had been aching for a good fight, as he didn't count the one with Aidan to be a particularly great fight. And Mr. Blake was just the person.

Damien was surprised yet again when Carter launched himself upon him. He tried to fight him off, but gravity pulled them down. As soon as he reached the ground, he elbowed Carter in the gut and knocked him off. He shoved him with all his strength before scrambling to his feet again.

((Ahahahahahhaha!!! Typos! How we love you so... (And dreams... like the Terra one....... xD)))

Carter gasped in pain as Mr. Blake elbowed him in the gut. He groaned when he hit the wall. Struggling to get to his feet, Carter glared up in time to see Mr. Blake getting to his feet, trying to get to Amanda's room once again. Couldn't Mr. Blake just accept that Amanda didn't want to see him? If she did, she wouldn't have gone into Carter's house for who-knows-how-long.

Finally able to stand fully, Carter started chasing Mr. Blake down the hall, moving as quickly as his legs would allow. The place where Carter had been elbowed hurt as he jogged down the hallway, yelling obscenities as he did so.

A nurse walking down the hallway yelled at him to stop swearing, because he was disturbing the peace, and NOT because he had just gotten beaten up by Damien. She didn't care about their fight, because that is so totally not peace disturbing at all. EVER.

Damien ignored any pain from the minimal injuries he sustained from Carter's earlier blows and hurried on toward Amanda's room. He listened for any hints at where she could be. He entirely ignored Carter's shouting, feeling victorious as he grew farther and farther from him, his voice growing more and more muffled. Yet he still wasn't too much farther ahead of him.

Carter continued to follow Mr. Blake down the halls of the hospital, still yelling at him. He was trying to provoke Mr. Blake, and Carter was pretty sure he knew it, but he didn't care. There had to be some weakness about him, and Carter was determined to find it. He pushed every button he knew, and tried pushing some others, unlikely as some seemed. Most of what Carter was yelling to Mr. Blake was about him being a child molester. If that didn't get a reaction out of him, then Carter really wasn't sure what would.

((Wikipedia makes me feel like an intelligent being. ))

Nurses and doctors focused on their many patients occupying the building, and the ones down those halls were conveniently too busy to tell the boy and the man outside the rooms to calm down.

Damien whipped around and charged at Carter, punching him in the shoulder then the gut when he was close enough. He grabbed his shoulders and shoved him against the wall again.

"You. Don't. Know. Anything," he said through gritted teeth, before continuing on through the hallways.

A doctor left the room of the girl who had just been hit by a car. It seemed like she would recover fairly well, though it could take a little while. MTBI (Concussion), broken ribs, lots of bruising, fractured radius... but the strangest thing was something completely unrelated that they had discovered after checking her over.

It was almost shocking, that it survived. ((RENEZMAYSUEBAIBEH.))

Damien stopped in front of a room that sounded eerily silent. He peered inside only briefly before turning the knob and stepping in.

Carter grunted when Mr. Blake whipped around and punched him in the shoulder. However, it was much more painful when Mr. Blake punched him in the gut, and Carter gasped, slumping down after being shoved against the wall again. He looked up, eyes streaming, and looked around for Mr. Blake. Somewhere in the space of two or three minutes, Mr. Blake had found Amanda's room, which meant that it was somewhere along the hallway.

He slowly stood up, trying not to groan. As Carter staggered down the hallway, he glanced in the rooms, and saw two very familiar people in one. Carter opened the door and walked in, leaning against the wall.

Damien edged cautiously toward the hospital bed where Amanda laid, fairly still, but a shaky rise and fall of her chest reassuring her life. She appeared to be in a painful, tense sleep. There were bandages wrapped around her head, some cuts on her face. A cast on her arm, bruises apparent upon her in the thin, revealing hospital gown she was now in. In his head, he could envision exactly how she'd gotten hit. The images in his mind and before him were nearly too much. He felt the pain from his own, minimal injuries, increase seeing Amanda like this, creating a nearly overwhelming ache within him that could only be compared with...

He shoved the thought from his mind. His hands gripped the side of the bed.

Slowly, Amanda blinked her eyes open. Everything seemed shaky in her vision now, and she wasn't entirely sure where she was or why. The first double-image that she saw waking, however, was Damien.

Painfully, the memory of her tearful discussion with Carter flowed back into her mind. Vague recollection of personnel in her room, murmured surprise, how had they found out? She cringed at the thought, and it sent more pain through her. Amanda couldn't figure out how she'd wound up here, however.

It came back in flashes, headlights in the rain, the truck slamming into her, bones cracking, the feeling of the hard, gravelly pavement.

"Amanda?" Damien whispered. He was hurt too, but it was barely discernable at the moment. That sound, his voice, no confidence, no sarcasm, so unsure. It was almost unfamiliar. Tears came to her eyes, and her breathing became even more ragged.

"No... n-no, Damien... p-please... go... w-where's Carter?" she whispered, voice scratchy and shaking.

"Amanda, calm down... I'm here, Carter's not here," he replied, having not noticed the teen's entrance.

"W-Where's Carter?" she questioned again, coughing now. It shot pain through her chest, broken ribs and all, and she winced deeply, which hurt even more. If they'd given her any drugs in this hospital, they had long worn off.

"W-Where's Carter?"

Carter almost said something the first time she asked, but remained silent when Mr. Blake answered for him. He was still trying to catch his breath, but then he heard her ask again.

"I'm right here," he replied quietly. Tentatively, Carter took a step forward, toward Amanda. He walked around Mr. Blake and grabbed Amanda's hand, holding it carefully. She was so banged and battered up that he didn't want to do anymore damage to her. It was almost like handling a baby. Which, in some super technical ways, he was, but Carter's mind wasn't that deep.

"Hey." Carter said it quietly enough that he could barely hear himself.

Damien took a step back, staring down at Amanda, not even fighting to keep his place as Carter stepped forward to take it. He couldn't imagine the bond they might have forged in the hours spent at Carter's house. The distraction of Carter's interference briefly pulled him away from his feelings of pain and into envy. The boy's hand gently taking hers, so carefully.

Tears fell down Amanda's face again now. It hurt too much, but Carter was here now. He was still here.

Ignoring Damien, she shakily spoke again.

"I-It's.... it's... it's t-true... I-I... I was right..." she whispered, choking back a sob. It was too much. Far too much. And it had survived being hit by a car.

Vaguely, she remembered, at one point, her arm had been wrapped around her still-flat stomach.

Damien's attention went back to Amanda. What was she talking about now?

"I-It's.... it's... it's t-true... I-I... I was right..."

The words stuck a knife through Carter's chest. There had been a tiny prick of hope that she had just dreamed of... what had gone on with Mr. Blake, but now it was confirmed. There was no doubting or denying it anymore. His eyes squeezed shut; he couldn't turn to look at Mr. Blake, now knowing what he knew.

Carter looked at his hand, saw that he was starting to squeeze Amanda's hand. He let some pressure off, but didn't let go of her hand. Letting go would feel too much like he was giving Amanda up to Mr. Blake. Carter couldn't do that.

Amanda almost tried to make him let go of her hand, he was squeezing hers so hard, but she couldn't, and she didn't really want him to let go. He was here. He was still here. After everything had happened, he was still here. But Damien's presence was still so overwhelming behind Carter. She couldn't get the words to form again, especially now that they were confirmed.

Abruptly, Damien proceeded to the edge of her bed, picking up the hospital chart from her admission. He scanned through it, until he spotted the confirmation he absolutely did not want to believe. His breath caught a moment, and internally, panic filled him. The best thing he could do though, was come up with a logical solution. He had to talk to Amanda, but she was still crying, clinging to Carter.

For a moment, he wondered if he would have ever found out without Carter having angrily expressed the possibility to him. Damien came to her other side, looking down at her again.

Amanda forced herself to focus on Carter, but Damien was too close again. She'd seen him lift the chart, she'd seen him, she knew he knew now. She didn't want Carter to leave. She knew she wouldn't be able to stand being alone with Damien. It was so much already.

The doorknob turned and a nurse stepped in, two more visitors in tow. Her parents. Both were drenched, and perhaps they had both been crying. The nurse motioned for Carter and Damien to leave.

"Do you need a room, sir? We should have you checked out," she said to Carter, quietly. He looked fairly banged up as well.

Cara nodded vaguely, tantalized by dreams of pizza.

"I had been there for a nosebleed I got yesterday. I'm a hemophiliac. I got lost when I tried to leave this morning and was lost for a couple hours... heh."

Cecilia wondered if there was anything interesting going down in town, then dismissed the thought. She then turned her thoughts to the hot new teacher she had met.
