+Anima the Roleplay part 2 (Because part 1 was burried alive.)

((Pageclaim of awesomeness, and hopefully having more than 4 hours of sleep tonight...))

Amanda stared at him, having heard this information, indirectly, from snippets of conversations between guys in her classes, and in the hallways. As well as even some of the girls. Usually, she'd agree with them. In fact, up until now, she hadn't even wanted a relationship. She hadn't even allowed herself to crush on anyone. It was too much work, she told herself, too much wasted time when she could be doing something productive. Advancing her future, being a successful and "procrastinatory" academic, even if people didn't like her much for it.

Until now. What was happening to her?

Carter was right. And he sounded serious for once, and that didn't happen too often with him. She nodded in response to what he said, hugging her knees to her chest. She knew for a fact that Mr. Blake wouldn't take it well if she "broke up" with him. But there was nothing else she could do, if she didn't want to officially destroy her life forever.

She silently cursed under her breath, as she remembered suddenly that she'd left her backpack in Mr. Blake's car.

"Do you have a cellphone?"

"Do you have a cellphone?"

Carter nodded and stood up, walking down to his room to retrieve his barely-used cellphone. After grabbing it, he stopped in the kitchen and grabbed another Monster out of the fridge. He tossed his phone to Amanda and sat back down on the couch.

"So who are you going to call?" he asked, sipping his Monster, even though he was pretty sure he knew who it was. But still, he could be wrong... even though he was 99 percent sure he knew.

Carter wondered exactly how Mr. Blake was going to react. Science was certainly going to be more awkward, but Carter almost looked forward to it. He might just have to drop some certain hints at Mr. Blake over the next couple days. He would, at least until he got bored and moved on.

Amanda gave him a half-glare as she made Carter's number private and dialed the number that had gotten disturbingly familiar over the past week.

"Tired of the freshman guy already?"

She released another exasperated breath and tried not to blow up at him.

"No, actually... look, I just really need to talk to you about something..."

"How about I come pick you up, and then we can talk?"

She pressed her lips together for a second.

"No, Mr. Blake, I'd rather stay here for now, thank you."

Finally, she had his attention. The name felt so foreign being spoken outside of school now.

"I... I don't think we can... you know... hang out outside of_"

"I'll be right over."

"Mr. Blake!"

"I'm turning around right now..."

"Damien."

"I'm about two blocks away. Talk to you then."

The line went dead. Amanda resisted the urge to throw the phone across the room. Then she remembered it was Carter's phone. She handed it back to him, and facepalmed.

"I... I think I've gotta go," she said, lifting off the floor slowly.

((Note, bold equals what Carter is making up in his head.))

Carter listened to the one side of the conversation that he could hear, filling in his own dialogue where Mr. Blake's actually was.

"I already miss you."

"No, actually... look, I just really need to talk to you about something..."

"I can take you somewhere so we can talk alone."

"No, Mr. Blake, I'd rather stay here for now, thank you."

"What's going on?"

"I... I don't think we can... you know... hang out outside of_"

"I can be there in two seconds."

"Mr. Blake!"

"I'll be right there."

"Damien."

Carter stopped imagining the conversation when Amanda handed his phone back, facepalming afterward.

"I... I think I've gotta go."

"Why? Are you seriously just going to leave with him like that? I know he'll probably show up in two seconds, and you're just going to leave with him?! Really?" Carter knew he was more upset than he needed to be, but shoved that thought aside.

Amanda cringed as Carter shouted his words toward her. Yes, it seemed ridiculous. Still, she couldn't say anything to him. What else was she going to do? She could break up with him in person...

Yeah, right you could 'break up' with him in person. Admit it. You're afraid of what will happen if you do.

It's scarier and not to mention, far stupider, to stay with him and see where THAT goes.

Amanda didn't have the chance to finish her rant with herself, as Mr. Blake showed up at the door. The electricity suddenly shot back on. It took her a moment to readjust her eyes to the light, even after being in the dark for only a few minutes.

"Sorry, Carter," she said, as she approached the door and opened it.

Immediately after she opened it, his hands were on hers and pulling her out of the house.

Carter blinked rapidly as the lights flashed back on. He eyes were already used to the darkness, so readjusting them wasn't going to be very fun.

"Sorry, Carter."

He turned his head blindly to where Amanda's voice was coming from. She was near the front door. As Carter started towards the door, his eyes adjusted in time for him to see Amanda being wrenched out of his house.

Carter grabbed the door handle, and marched through.

"Where the h*ll do you think you're taking her?" he yelled. Carter grabbed Amanda's free hand so that Mr. Blake couldn't get her into his car and drive off without confronting Carter.

"Why do you seem to think she wants to go with you? The reason she called you wasn't so she could be picked up, it was so she could break up with you." Carter had to yell as loud as he could to be heard over the thunder.

Amanda felt Carter grab her other hand, and she felt as though this would not be very pleasant for her. Or the two of them. She remained silent, as Carter tried to yell over the storm.

"Stay out of this, kid!" Damien shouted, pulling her toward him. She was tugged in that direction. He stared down at her, looking even more serious in the darkness of the storm.

"You don't really want to do this, Amanda, do you? It's only been a week, and..."

She focused on the sounds of the storm, so as to legitimately not hear him. This conversation was difficult enough to have on the phone or inside, but out here it was ridiculous. She knew she wouldn't be able to avoid him forever, but for these moments, she would, even though he was right there...

"AMANDA! Listen! Why are you doing this to me?!"

She stared up at him, as if to say that he knew the reason why, and thunder cracked above them all. Amanda glanced over at Carter.

"Can we go inside?" she asked, loudly.

Carter felt the tug when Mr. Blake pulled Amanda toward him. He glared at Mr. Blake, tightening his grip on Amanda's hand. He pulled her a little farther away from him.

"Stay out of this, kid!"

"I'm not staying out of this! I have every right to be part of it!"

Carter watched as Amanda started to look distant, like she was focusing on something farther away from them. His mouth turned into a tight line when Mr. Blake yelled at Amanda, asking why she was doing that to him. Even though he saw Amanda give Mr. Blake a meaningful look, Mr. Blake seemed to ignore it.

"Can we go inside?"

Carter nodded. "Sure." He started pulling her inside, ignoring Mr. Blake. He turned to look at them, still holding onto Amanda's hand.

Amanda followed Carter in, neither one of the guys letting go of her hands as they entered. Once again, she was soaking and yet another guest had arrived. Someone neither of them wanted to be there. She tried to wrench free from at least one of them, but was unsuccessful.

"Well?" said Damien, slightly out of breath from shouting so much.

Amanda ignored Carter's presence there, feeling a little guilty as she started to answer. She took a deep breath.

"You know why. That this whole thing is a terrible idea and..."

Damien also attempted to ignore Carter, but his presence was painfully obvious.

"We can make it work," he said, and paused, before pulling her toward him again.

"Let's go somewhere else, Amanda. Please."

Amanda stared at him, still torn between the two. She looked over at a Carter, before formulating a response.

"No, Mr. Blake... Damien. I... I don't think this is going to work anymore. I think it's best that you leave."

"Amanda_"

"Please. I'll call you when I get home."

He stared at her. She looked back at him, pleading him to go.

"Come on... don't do this, Amanda."

"Go."

He stared down at their hands, and he let go, giving her one more look, telling it wasn't over, but he still headed for the door and back to his car, sitting in the driveway for a moment before pulling out, and getting back onto the street.

Amanda stared at the floor. Carter still hadn't let go.

Carter remained silent throughout Mr. Blake and Amanda's conversation. There were a few instances when he opened his mouth to speak, but decided to keep it shut. He reasoned that the less he interrupted, the quicker Mr. Blake would leave, and the less likely Amanda was to leave with him.

He watched as Mr. Blake then left, sitting in his driveway for a moment before driving off. Carter watched, satisfied, but he had a feeling that Mr. Blake wasn't very far away.

Looking down, Carter saw that he was still holding onto Amanda's hand. After staring at the floor for a moment, Carter let go of her hand and brought out two more towels for Amanda. "You can dry off wherever."

He went back to his room to change again.

Amanda didn't mind that it took him a moment to let go, and watched him head out of the room to bring them two more towels. She nodded, and waited for him to go. He went back down those stairs again. She picked up her other towel from earlier, and wrapped the new one around her hair as she started for the door that led downstairs. Water still dripped from her clothes, and as she took a step toward them, she slipped and began tumbling down the staircase, trying to brace herself. She landed at the bottom with a thud.

"I'm okay!" she shouted, her voice high-pitched in pain as she struggled to get back up from the floor.

Carter was searching for a clean shirt when he heard a series of small thuds and then a louder one to finish with "I'm okay!" to finish it off. He ran out of his room to find Amanda struggling to stand up at the bottom of the stairs.

"Amanda... how hard is it to walk down stairs?" he asked, groaning as he helped her to her feet. She needed to live in a bubble that wouldn't pop. Except the fact that she would still manage to injure herself. Carter sighed.

He thought he heard a door open upstairs, but thunder cracked again, so he couldn't be totally sure. Carter dismissed the idea. Both of his parents worked today, and they came home early as much as Carter helped a Beast cross the street.

"Now, will you be okay by yourself in the bathroom?" he asked mockingly as he scratched his bare shoulder.

Amanda appreciated the help. She deserved the comments on her clumsiness, and sighed, cringing as she did so. Upstairs, it sounded like a door had opened. Carter's parents? She looked over at Carter, who she now noticed was shirtless.

"Haha, very funny," she said, carefully picking up the towels from the floor. She made her way to the bathroom with some difficulty, but didn't mention anything to Carter.

"Carter? Are you home? What are all these towels doing around?" Mrs. Landon (Carter's mommy <3) said as she set down her purse on the kitchen counter.

"Did I hear something down there? Do you have company, sweetheart?"

She started for the stairs, seeing Carter shirtless at the bottom of them.

Carter stared up in horror at his mother. What was she doing home? Wasn't she supposed to be a work? He wracked his brain for any signs that she would come home early today of all days. She hadn't said anything in his memory, but... the officer that called his mom this morning... had she called her at work? On her cellphone? At home?

Suddenly Carter smiled, looking very... twisted. "Yes, Mom. I do have company. Amanda, you don't need to worry, it's just my mom. You can come out now," he said, staring at the bathroom door. He turned back to his mom. "Oh, the towels? Amanda got a little wet." His lip twitched, trying to form into the smile that he wasn't allowing. He bit his tongue to keep from laughing and ruining it. He had to keep this believable.

Amanda heard his mother walk in, asking him questions, suddenly extremely nervous. She stood with her ear against the door trying to listen into the conversation. She intuitively felt as though Carter was going to be a complete idiot. And as she heard him speak, he did not fail her. She felt her face getting hot, and it was turning visibly red in the mirror, from anger and embarrassment.

"I am going to KILL you," she whisper-shouted under her breath.

Mrs. Landon stared at him in shock, trying to process what her son had just said to her.

"Um... well... Okay. Um... do you need me to get you two anything? I hope you were... well, you know... safe..."

When Carter heard Amanda whisper-yell that she was going to kill him, he nearly burst out laughing right there. Instead, he just smiled a little wider. "You know you love this," he whispered back, seeing that his mom was in shock. He was feeling very smug until his mom said:

"Um... well... Okay. Um... do you need me to get you two anything? I hope you were... well, you know... safe..."

The smirk slid right off of his lips and color rushed to his face. Did she really have to say that? Carter stood there for a moment before regaining the composure to respond.

"Well.... uh... we um... we were as safe as was possible. Limited... supplies." He started to look more confident again as he continued. "Hm... Amanda, what do you think?"

He walked into his room again and picked up a shirt at random, not bothering his search for a clean one. Walking back to the bottom of the stairs he looked up to his mom and said, "Sorry. You caught us a little off guard. Otherwise I would have been fully dressed." Somehow, his crappy day was getting better and better, and he had only Amanda and his mother to thank for that.

Amanda dried herself off a little bit more, staying in the bathroom as Carter continued his conversation. She felt simultaneously more embarrassed by Carter's mother and smug that it had gotten Carter to seem a little less smug. Until he talked again. She glared at him as she stepped out of the bathroom. She'd have to come out eventually. She didn't want to seem homicidal while she was in front of Carter's mom, though she was beginning to feel that way about him.

"Hi, Mrs...." Amanda said, pausing and trying to rack her brain for Carter's last name. "...Landon. I'm Amanda, Carter's girlfriend. I just wanted to say that you shouldn't worry about Carter. He's really a great guy, and he's totally crazy about me. As you can see."

She smirked at Carter, as she stood closer to him, putting her arms around him suggestively, before facing Mrs. Landon again.

Mrs. Landon gave a half-horrified smile as Carter's... friend... girlfriend... introduced herself.

"W-Well, it's nice to meet you... A-Amanda. T-That's... good to hear. Um... I'll be right here if you need anything, alright?"

Carter smiled smugly at Amanda when she walked out of the bathroom. He turned back to his mom, but the smile froze on his face when he heard Amanda say that he was 'totally crazy about her'. He put his arms around her suggestively as well, though he was still formulating what he needed to say.

"Oh, and Mom? You should know that Amanda's a senior. The cougar just couldn't stay away from me," he said, casually laughing. He cut the laughing off short before it got out of control.

Catching his mom's horrified eyes, Carter turned back to Amanda again, noting that their heads were very close from the way they were holding onto each other. He said, "So, do you want to go back to my room?" He added a suggestive wink just for the fun of it.

((Amanda: *shoots Carter in the face*
Alec finally gets his wish of Amanda going on a killing spree... soon... *jk*))

Amanda knew she was in for it when Carter reciprocated her suggestive embrace. She stared at him, trying to suppress her blush as he spoke, and the huge urge to slap him.

Mrs. Landon stared without knowing what to say, and nodded once. "Alright, I'll be over here," she said, just as quickly as she walked away.

As soon as Carter's mom was out of sight, Amanda leaned in even closer, then actually did slap him.

"There are no words to describe how much I really, REALLY hate you right now."

((Carter: *dead* Leah: *godmods Amanda* Amanda: Oh no! Oh happy dagger!))

Carter watched his mom walk away, looking slightly lost. It was so much greater that it was his mom that was home and not his dad, because his dad would probably actually know how to handle the situation. He was brought back into reality when Amanda slapped him. He glared at her, but leaned in close and whispered in her ear, "Feisty one, aren't you?"

Carter quickly dropped his arms from the suggestive spots they were in and stepped away before Amanda could slap him again. He smirked at her again.

"There are no words to describe how much I really, REALLY hate you right now."

"Don't even deny how much you secretly lust after me, Cougar." This time, Carter ran away. The safest spot was his room because his window was unlocked for easy escape, and running upstairs would just ruin the effect that they were 'crazy about each other'.

((Ahahahahaha, so true... xD Amanda and Carter: *glare at us* ))

Amanda snarled as she chased him into his room. This kid was going to get it. She was running extremely fast when she entered. His back was turned, and though she'd intended to stop and slap him again, she tackled him. (oops God-mod? tell me if this is okay) The two collided with the floor. She was flushed in the face again, but while they were there, she slapped him again.

Carter was sure she'd given up when he felt her tackle him. He put his arms out to break the fall, but still hit his face on the floor. Carter was sure that that was enough punishment, but Amanda didn't seem to be thinking the same thing as she slapped him in the face. Carter groaned and tried getting up.

"Can you please get off of me. I mean, I know you're lusting after me and all, like the cougar you are, but really? I like standing up," Carter said, knowing another slap-- or maybe even a punch this time-- was on it's way.

For a brief moment, Carter wondered if his mom had heard the commotion, and wondered what she would say if she walked in on them. He grinned.

Amanda glared at him, and was about to slap him once more, when her senses got a hold of her. He had, after all, landed face first on the floor. But those little comments he made all the time. And then she realized what this probably looked like... and as she was about to lift herself off of him, Mrs. Landon knocked on the door.

"Carter, is everything alright in there...?"

She walked in without a response.

Amanda immediately removed herself from Carter, and stood, face bright red. This was just about the worst day of her life.

"Carter, is everything alright in there...?"

Carter was just about to yell at his mom not to come in when she came in anyway. He looked up at Amanda who was still on top of him then back to his mom in the doorway. Immediately afterward, he felt Amanda's weight lifted off of him. Sitting up, Carter rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.

"Mom... uh... it actually wasn't what it looked like. We were... uh... wrestling doesn't sound too great.... Hm... we were... um... we fell." For Carter not having some perverted suggestive comment to add right there was pretty shocking. Although he couldn't help but add: "Amanda gets a little feisty sometimes."

He stood up, shoving his hands into his pockets, looking around awkwardly.

"So, Amanda, do you want to play cards?"

((AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! xD playing cards...))

Amanda stared at Carter, not even having the will to glare at him. Her expression turned to surprise when he didn't make some perverted comment. And then he ruined it. Regardless, there was no way to get out of this.

Mrs. Landon nodded.

"Um... o-okay. I'll be right upstairs."

She turned and walked up again.

"So, Amanda, do you want to play cards?"

Amanda sighed.

"I'm sorry for attacking you," she mumbled, staring at the floor. "And sure, why not."
