| Username: Nightmare13 Name: Her only known name is Aurora Project Age: 20 is her assumed age, though she is technically 2 weeks old. Gender: Female Personality: She wouldn't be able to tell you, but Aurora is very naive almost to a point of childishness. She acts like a small child and doesn't understand the world. Most of the time she is oblivious or confused, and will do what people ask her to without question. She also has her somewhat often panic attacks when she's in danger, where her emotions get a little tangled up. She ranges from terrified to furious when this happens. Her personality is very complex. Appearance: Aurora has a pleasant but plain face. Her eyes are a light lime green that increases her look of innocence, and that she is only really there half of the time. Her hair is a very dark brown and goes down to her chest in the front, and in the back to the base of her shoulder blades in the back, though she now realizes that it is in fact easier to see with her hair tucked behind her ears. She wears a formally white dress that goes down to her knees. It is plain cotton fabric, that has gotten tattered and very dirty over the time she had it. It is now a dirty greyish brown color from the dirt of "the Front". For shoes she wears a pair of stolen army boots. She is quite mousy, skinny and delicate looking, only standing five feet and five inches. History/Occupation: Aurora is 2 weeks old, as far as she can remember. The first thing she ever remembers is waking up on what seemed to be an operation table. She found herself blinking and averting her eyes from overhead lights. She was wearing the white dress she still has on. The room around her was a pentagon shaped room with four tinted glass walls. She could see men outside, in lab coats, but only their figures. She crept closer to them, and began to hear their chat. All she had time to hear was "How is the Aurora project coming?" then the other man replied. "Oh it's coming very well the readings are off the chart! I think we might have actually done it this time. It's actually just inside here." he said and motioned for the room she was in. She decided that Aurora Project must be her name. The other doctor seemed to get excited. "Can I see it?" he asked, rubbing his hands together in glee. She could tell that the other doctor was grinning now. "Of course you can Doctor Linus." he replied before heading towards the door. After sliding a key card, and entering a pin, the door slid open, and the two doctors were shocked to find her moving about, waiting for them at the door. On of the doctors pulled out a pistol and exclaimed "Don't move!" Aurora not understanding and feeling a little scared went into one of her panic attacks. She moved slightly, and the doctor shot at her. She wasn't sure what she did, or exactly what happened, but Aurora managed to dodge the bullet, and drop to the floor lashing out with a kick to make the man fall over, and as he fell she grabbed the gun, and shot his shoulder. The other doctor pulled out his own gun but before he could point and fire she clubbed him with her newly acquired pistol. An alarm was set off in the building, and Aurora found herself running through the halls of the building looking for an exit. She got into a few fights with soldiers, while on her way out, which is how she received her army shoes after beating the owner to death with them. When she escaped she found herself in a military base. The Orchid Military Base in the core planets. Her cunning surprised even her as she quickly finding the hangar and high jacking a military transport ship, gaining a gunshot wound to the shoulder, and a gash from a knife on her arm, she then quickly dispatched of the crew. It was an old model though, but reliable. And that was the first day of her life. It was a Tuesday. She spent a week of flying around headed for "the Front" She didn't know what it that was, but she knew she would be safe there. She used the ships computer to attain basic knowledge, like where "the Front" was and navigational things. She set the ship on an auto course for the planet "Hope" because she thought the name was pretty. She spent the week stargazing and studying the navigational data on the ship, finding it interesting. She did need to avoid the occasional capture, from military at first, but the further she got to "the Front" the less military attempts there were, and the more gang attempts at looting the ship there were. She learned to fly pretty quickly, like piloting, much like fighting was a skill built into her. Once she had reached the planet Hope her fuel was depleted, and she had to make a crash landing. The far worse than bumpy ride landed her a few miles outside of a town, and it had reopened her gunshot and knife wound from the original high jacking. She entered the town to find a large collection of shady characters, who all gave her weird looks as she made her way through the town. One man offered to buy her a drink, and brought her to the Blue Star Pub. She was delightfully unaware that this man was trying to take advantage of her. He started to make out with her but she just sat there completely still with her eyes open, still unaware of what was going on. Her obliviousness started to get on the man's nerves and so he slapped her sending her crashing to the ground and yelling that she was a stupid bitch. She then became slightly afraid. But then the bartender chased off the man, obviously not liking trouble in his bar. The bartender took her to the back and bandaged her wounds, and after a short discussion the bartender became aware that she both had nowhere to go and that she would be dead in a day if she were left to wander around. He offered her a job as a waitress, in exchange for a place to stay. She quickly accepted, being perhaps a little too trusting towards the man. She has now worked for him for a week and is starting to understand how to be a waitress. That was unfortunately not a built in skill of hers. She is still as clueless as ever, but she gets by, and is starting to get used to this place, even though she has refused to leave the bar for the week so far. She has been checking on her wounds for a few days now, and they seem to be getting worse.
(Um, I PMed this to Radcat yesterday. I just wanted to throw that out there because it is soooooooooooooooooooo much like Magus' sorry. ^^')

Name: Gabe Styx
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Personality: Gabe knows how to survive on the street, because he lived there most of his life. He's confident, because he can handle himself He obviously doesn't trust people easily, because that can get you killed. He doesn't take crap from anyone, and is the type of person to mouth-off in the face of death; as long as he has a plan to survive. Gabe knows that the number one rule is survival. To survive one must always be on the look out, and to always have a back up plan and an escape route. His way is simple, but efficient. Use whatever works to survive. Fight hard when needed and run like hell if fighting doesn't work.
Appearance: Gabe stands at 5"8, with thick, slightly shaggy, ruffled red-brown hair with the bangs going slightly past his eyes. Despite his hair, he never grows any facial hair and remains nearly clean-shaven. His eyes are a calm light blue. His attire consist of worn in combat boots; dark khaki pants that have worn and torn a bit; a simple black shirt that is dust and has a few stains of blood; a shredded up trench coat which keeps Gabe warm in the cold nights, and also holds his signature sticks, any other weapons he can get a hold of, and money and supplies that he manages to steal or find.
History/Occupation: Gabe was born to a hooker and a gangster in the Mafia. The gangster was unaware of Gabe’s existence, as the hooker raised him in secrecy to protect. Eventually, it was found out that the hooker had a son and so the gangster forced her to sell her 3 year old son into slavery in order to help pay off her debt to the Mafia.
Gabe lived in the horrible conditions of the slave camp for two years until he was sold to a family at the age of 5. The family mistreated Gabe and forced him to do all sorts of demeaning and dangerous tasks; a typical slave child. Whenever Gabe tried to resist or retaliate, he was beaten and chained to a stake like a dog and forced to sleep outside. Gabe lived like this for a full year.
One night, the family came back drunk from a large party and chained Gabe outside to the stake for no reason. However, because of the inebriated state of the family, the stake hardly driven into the ground at all. Noticing this, Gabe took a rock, smashed the stake out of the ground, and ran away from the family, now free. Gabe fled to a big city and became a pickpocket living off the streets in order to survive.
One time after a successful pick-pocketing, Gabe was mugged by a few juvenile gang members. The boys were older than him, had more fighting experience, and outnumbered Gabe 3-to-1, so he didn’t stand a chance. The gang members took all of his bounty, and left him beaten in an alley. With no money for food, pick-pocketing was the only way Gabe could survive. However, when he attempted to steal some money from a man’s coat the man caught him, kicked him to the ground, and belittled Gabe for his lousy technique. Enraged, the 9 year old grabbed a shaft of wood and charged at the man. The man simply disarmed Gabe and took the weapon, smacked him in the head with the shaft, and pinned him to the ground trapping his arm. The man then let Gabe go, told him that he liked his spirit, and introduced himself as a famous bounty “Styx”, nicknamed for his fighting prowess with sticks and for nearly killing the bounty heads he brings in. After a few days of training Gabe on how to fight and how to steal more efficiently, he left him on his own, but promised that he would be back someday if Gabe managed to live that long. Shortly after Styx left, Gabe hunted down the gang members that robbed him earlier, beat them up, and took his stuff back along with a few other things as interest.
After three years, Styx delivered his promise and came back. Gabe greeted the bounty hunter by trying to pickpocket him again, but the result was nearly the same as last time and Gabe was slammed to the ground. After he was release however, Gabe showed Styx that he did actually manage to get his wallet, showing signs of improvement. That wasn’t the only thing Gabe improved on, as Gabe challenged Styx to a sparring match saying that if he won, then he would treat him to lunch. Even though Styx went easy on him, the 12 year old still managed to earn lunch for a day, and ate twice as much he would’ve stole. During their meal, Gabe asked Styx if he could go with him and he agreed.
Gabe lived and traveled with Styx for seven years, improving his skills, and learning a few new ones. One day, after Styx came back from searching for information, he wasn’t quite acting like himself. He was shaky, anxious, and excited. Styx told Gabe that he had finally found a bounty head that he’d been tracking for years. Grax Mundo was a vicious murderer who had escaped from an asteroid prison. After escaping, he came to take revenge on Styx for locking him up, but killed Styx’s wife instead. Styx had a lead that Grax had been hiding out in Last Bastion aka The Front. When Gabe heard the location, he tried to protest immediately, knowing that only the bravest, strongest, or most foolish bounty hunters went to The Front; and neither of them lasted very long. But knowing that Styx was determined to avenge his wife, he agreed to go with him. Following the lead, the two bounty hunters arrived at small warehouse in The Front. Gabe was told to cover the exit this time and let Styx handle it alone. However, the tip was a trap, as Styx was ambushed by Grax who had hired a small time gang. The gang hail fired on Styx from all directions and then quickly made their escape. Gabe was only able to thank his father figure for everything he had done before he died.
After having tracked down Grax and his gang, Gabe crashed the ship into their hideout killing many of the gang members in a surprise attack. The 19 year old then proceeded to go after Grax after finishing off the rest of the gang. Grax tried his best to escape, but Gabe pursued him into a dead alley way. Gabe beat Grax to a few mere inches of his life and then tried to collect the bounty. Before he could leave, however, Gabe was stopped by two men wearing suits. The men introduced themselves as members of Jackel’s Mafia, and informed the teen that Grax was in a large debt and demanded that Gabe handed him over. Gabe was angry and nearly attacked the men, but when they tossed him more than twice as much of what Grax was worth, he handed him over. The men then told Gabe that there was much more where that came from, and offered him a job. Gabe knew that the money would run out eventually, especially with the bank security at The Front. He also knew that working for the Mafia could pay well, so he accepted the offer. The men took Grax away, gave him a card with an address on it, and told him that he’d start tomorrow.
Location: The Front!

| Carlisle sighed in relief as he sent Miss Smith out with her child who was only two days old. She had been one of his first patients after he arrived, and so he had gotten to know the young prostitute well as he taught her how she should take care of the baby during his few breaks.
"One baby, eleven bullets, fourteen broken bones, and twenty-nine infected wounds." The Doctor commented as he finished writing in his medical journal of the past three days. ".....and only six people actually paid me." Carlisle muttered to himself as he checked the drawer he saved money in. "Oh well....it's enough for more medicine and some food I guess." He reminded himself before shutting the drawer and standing up and wiping his hands onto his pants, a habit he had developed over the years.
The Doctor walked out of his room towards the area where he allowed his guests to wait, only to see that for the first time since he had moved here that it was empty. "Now what's next....food, or sleep?" He asked himself before running his hand through his hair. "....Bathing, that's what I need to first." Carlisle realized as he felt his greasy hair.
And so the newcomer in town went back into his private quarters and locked the door behind him before heading for his small bathroom.

| ((This really needs to get moving.))
Moa
"Hand me that wrench." Moa asked her assistant. The man nodded and handed her the tool. Moa continued to work on the vehicle she was currently laying under. It had been brought into her place just yesterday, and she would get paid extra if she could get it up and running by the end of today. After working on it for another half an hour, Moa was confident to say it was up and running again. She contacted the owner of it so they could come pick it up.
It had been awhile now, since she came to The Front. Her time at the Core Worlds seemed like a distant memory now. Which was better for her, in her opinion. It was better she not dwell on the past. Especially with what had happened at the....incident.
The owner came by and picked up the vehicle, after paying her. Moa frowned after counting the money. He was a little short. Well, she'd just have to charge him more whenever he came back.
It seemed this would be another usual day in The Front.

| (( Sadly, most of the moving is going to have to be done without me, as I'm going on vacation this Thursday. FYI, in the Front, it's morning, around 11-ish or so.))
It was the time of day before any of the more "normal" folks would roll in for pub food, but still early enough that the local drunks were still waiting for that "last" pint. Lawrence sighed, spraying more of the blue liquid over the glass surface of the Pinball machine. People tended to use it as a massive, shiny coaster, and as such, it tended to be covered in a beer-smelling residue the morning after.
The television was playing whatever updates were streaming in from the media satellite that had been put up by BHRN. Regardless of the stations "modern" outlook, Lawrence's crap T.V. managed to make the picture grainy. Still, you managed to get the gist of what was happening over the airwaves, and it served that purpose.
Lighting up a cigarette with his old lighter, tarnished, but still recognizably silver, Lawrence bundled up the cleaning supplies, and crammed them into the storage closet. Exhaling smoke, he reached out over the stained counter, and clicked on the stove. Pulling open his mini-fridge with one foot, and grabbing a bag of chips and a bowl with his hands, Lawrence began to prepare for the lunch crowd at his little bar.

| The light from the late morning sun illuminated all of the dust particles in the bathroom. Aurora looked away from her arm every few seconds as she tried to match them up using a connect the dots format to create the mapping of a system. She had been up all night, but hadn't really minded it. She just did what she was told, save for some drunken requests she brought up with Lawrence before she was told to do something else instead. And for the whole night she had only collapsed six times. She remembered counting that off with her fingers in the kitchen before getting mister Fletcher's fries, gravy on the side, plus he ordered what she had assumed was a smile. It had been a busy night, and now her injured arm hurt very much, so she took the advice of some of the customers and did not lop off her arm with the biggest and pointiest knife. Instead she started to remove the bandages from the knife wound. At first she made it a race with herself to see how fast she could remove it, but after a shriek, and some pain, decided it would be much more "practical" as many put it when she was doing something childish, to remove the bandages slowly. Once she had unraveled the bandages, she promptly vomited, and fetched the mop.
After cleaning up the olfactory induced spit up Aurora found Lawrence preparing some junk food. "The picture box says that you shouldn't eat those." she put in before walking over to him and showing him the gash in her arm that smelt of infection, and the surrounding skin was a tint of green, while the actual wound was, a little worse than Aurora liked to look at, with much puss coming out of it. "Do you think it's sealing itself right or should I go get the sealy goo from the car room?" the girl asked.

| Lawrence turned his head to face the girl, leaning down to take a look at her arm. Pulling the cigarette from his mouth, he turned her arm over, then right-side-up again. Fumbling with the switch, he turned on the dim kitchen light, before turning to the sink.
"Grab some of the sealant, and patch yourself up." Drawing a knife from the cutting board, he added, "I want you to head on over to the Docs place. Don't stop for nothing, and keep to the main road."
Passing her the knife, he reached over to his old sat-com communications transmitter. "And if anything happens, push the big button over the number that says bar, okay?". Tossing her that as well, Lawrence pushed the tray of microwaveable Onion rings into the oven. After all, who could afford a microwave out here?

| "Sin has plagued the air, Mr. Lawrence."
The Reverend had carefully pushed open the door to the small shabby pub. The sun momentarily blinded his short brown hair; but his eerily bright blue eyes could easily be seen. He wore a large smile upon his lips as he entered the pub. He wore his traditional black suit, the design of a holy cross upon his chest.
Yet the the cross was tainted with black thorns wrapping up and around it, as if pulling it down to the depths. Just above, around The Reverend's neck was the customary white collar of a preacher.
Although he had entered the pub alone, two men could easily be seen outside, waiting for The Reverend to return.
"Every time people breath they become infected with it. Good afternoon Mr. Lawrence."

| Aurora hit the red bar button, wondering what it did. She was greeted with the static of a radio (that's my asumption at least. I'm hoping it doesn't blow up the bar.) it made her jump in surprise. "It makes weird noises." she commented and turned on her heel to get the sealer, but before she had gone the Reverend entered. Aurora walked back over to Lawrence. "Who's the funny man? He just came so I reckon-" Aurora stopped talking for a moment to chuckle at the word reckon, which she had picked up from Lawrence. "he ain't drunk yet." She said. She wouldn't ask the Revrend himself though. He gave off a presence of authority, which was off putting. And she had also learned not to call people, especially people who seemed off, funny men. | |

| "Alright, Alright, it's in my--" Gabe whipped out a from inside of his trenchcoat and started firing at the five gang members trying to rob him. He shot at the one in the middle with a gun pointed at him in the head, and then continued shooting down the right; killing two more of his assailants.
He moved fast and turned shooting the 4th one that was to the middle one's right in the chest. When he fired at the final thug, only the click of the empty hammer of his revolver made a sound. Shit! I'm outta bullets. he finally realized after pulling the trigger repeadtedly not hearing the familiar sound of a gunshot. The final gangmember who was taken by surprise at Gabe's sudden retaliation had come to his senses too, and began to whip out a pistol of his own.

| Carlisle placed a sign on his now locked front door as he left his apartment. The Doctor was now dressed in one of his better suits at the moment. He had a clean white shirt under a long black coat that went down to his shin that had a slight shine to it which actually matched the color of his damp hair at this point. He walked down the steps as he left the building, a small and tense smile on his face. As the Doctor saw real light for the first time in three days he adjusted his glasses, satisfied with his surroundings for now.
The Doctor walked down the street and took a left as he tried to find a tavern he had heard one of his patients mention earlier. As he walked down the street he saw a small group of men before him, and it seemed like they were robbing a young man for some reason. Carlise foolishly walked closer to the scene until he saw the young boy pull out a gun and shoot four of the men. The Doctor flinched back a bit farther with each shot but as his eyes came to rest on the surviving man's neck he saw small fine stitches going from his ear to shoulder.
As the man pulled out a pistol and aimed it at the boy Carlise foolishly decided that he had to stop this for now, and thus he shouted. "So this is what you've been since I fixed you up, I guess that means that story bout you being a plumber who would fix my pipes later was a lie then? Well that's disappointing then." He managed to say as he hid how much fear he felt at this point, trying to act like his old Teacher and Mentor had.

| Gabe was about ready to make his move when he heard a man shout something to the thug just outside the alleyway. It didn't sound too intimidating, like threat or anything. However, it surprised the thug much more then it did Gabe, evident by the nervous look that grew on his face.
Thinking quickly to take advantage of the thug's distraction, Gabe tossed his empty revolver at the thug's head stunning him just long enough for Gabe to move in close. Reaching in to his trenchcoat, Gabe seized one of his sticks from a pocket and delivered a quick and powerful upward strike to the gang member's nose. The man's head shot up and blood instantly gushed from his nose. Gabe then smacked him him in the chin, and the unbalanced rapscallion dropped onto the concrete out cold.
Gabe then turned to the man who he noticed by his clothing, and by the words that he spoke to the thug earlier, that this man was the new doctor (and the only one in awhile). "Hey, this man's nose seems to beaten up pretty badly. You might wanna examine it? It's really bleeding out a lot." Gabe suggested in a way like he was feigning innocence.

| Carlisle closed his eyes for a second as he saw the young man rush at the thug. He opened his eyes and tried to loosen up a bit as he heard the man's body hit the ground. "Hmm yes I suppose so, it's a shame some people are so clumsy." Carlisle agreed reluctantly as he played along with the boy's game. "I guess this means I wont be getting real food anytime soon..." The Doctor realized as he leaned down to get the thug's body up, struggling as he tried to lift the man.
Instead he simply dropped the man back onto the ground and looked back up at the boy who had taken his old patient out, feeling rather embarrassed. "So umm, could you help me take him to my place?" He asked.

| "What? Oh, uh, sure. I guess..." Gabe reluctantly agreed. He tucked his kali stick back into the pocket in his trenchcoat and glanced at his watch while doing so. I've got one hour before I have to be at the address...
Gabe crouched down towards the unconscious thug, and hoisted his arm over his shoulders. He quickly retrieved his revolver, and with a grunt, he semi-lifted the man up off the ground a bit. The complete weight of the unconscious man's limp body pressed hard against Gabe, but he patiently waited for for the doctor's assistance.

| "Thanks." Carlisle replied as he picked up the Thug by his other arm and held him up, grunting in pain before he found a comfortable way to carry the man. While the Doctor did allow the boy to carry most of the weight Carlisle still made sure to hold on as he led them to his home. He was silent as they walked down the street, wondering for the first time since he had moved here whether or not it had been the right thing to do.
A small breeze came down the street as Carlisle made it to the front of his home, he then pulled out one of three keys and opened the lock while still holding onto the body. Carlisle tilted his head as he looked up at the staircase they would have to climb to get to his room. "In retrospect I probably should have set everything up on the bottom floor..." He commented before looking back at the youn man who had helped him. "Thanks anyways though....what was your name?"

| Gabe tried his best not to sigh, as they carried the thug back to the doctor's residence. It got harder with each step as he noticed that he was carrying most of the weight, but he held the sigh back. While he did distract the guy, I had everything under control. Now a whole bunch of supplies I could've taken is gone. I doubt those guys won't be robbed clean whenever I get back from this.
Gabe waited patiently as the doctor pulled out his keys and unlocked the door to his house. It wasn't the best he'd seen, but it was still pretty decent looking. I'm all out of bullets too, and I bet those goons had enough cash on them for me to have a decent bite to eat and still have enough for my rent. he continued to mentally complain as they brought the man inside.
"Yeah, that probably would've made things a bit easier." the teen replied dryly. "I'm Gabe. Gabe Styx. What's yours?" Gabe asked. He soon slightly regretted giving the man his real name, but he decided that it was no big deal seeing that this man couldn't do too much with the info, and that Gabe wasn't a criminal or anything. Not yet, anyways.

| "Oh well I am Doctor Carlisle Lucius...I'm new to town." He replied, looking down as though it was a bad thing with the last bit of information. But the Doctor pushed those feelings to the back of his mind as he looked up at Gabe with a smile. "Anyways it's nice to meet you Gabe, no need to help me take him up the stairs I suppose....I can easily fix his injury down here." Carlisle explained as he looked down at the man's nose for a second as he felt slightly awkward now that he realized he was about to fix up a man that had just tried to kill Gabe.
"Besides, he never payed anyways." Carlisle added as he tried to make light of the situation.
