Rebirth of the Gods

Demeter walked towards the school entrance, books in her arms with a flowery tote bag. Her red hair was tied in a messy ponytail, laying over her right shoulder. She was eager to meeting Persephone, Demeter felt quite protective. Sometimes, she even felt overprotective when Hades was around her. Demeter continued down the hallway, heading towards her locker.

Circe walked from her locker towards her first class. She wore a gray jacket over her tanktop, the buttons opened. As she was walking towards class, she went past Hades.

"Hey," Circe said in a gloomy voice as she turned and waved her hand at him.

Ares

Ares gave a sigh as he entered school. Another boring, same old day. He hated going to school. If it weren't for the fact he was apart of the wrestling team, and could cause fights, he'd probably ran away a long time ago. Well, it didn't matter now anyways.

Hecate walked up behind Hades. "Hades, Circe." She nodded to each as she tightened her grip on the binder she held. Though her grammar could use improvement she loved writing adventure stories especially dramatic ones where people had to choose between two things, usually resulting in the death of someone near them. Yes they were a little dark, but who cared? The only person that read them was her.

Artemis was sitting out front of the school with a book. The morning was a bit chilly and she pulled her hoodie back over her shoulders and continued to read.

"Hey sis," Hades said, not bothering to look behind him. He was used to his sister's antics. He raised an eyebrow when he saw from the corner of his eye that she was carrying her binder. He spoke, "What are you writing now?)

Orion approached the school, though most of his attention was on his notepad. He was currently drawing something. It was of his namesake being pierced by Artemis' arrow thanks to Apollo's trickery and jealousy.

Hecate sighed. "The usual." Hades should know what the usual was. He was one of few people that even knew she wrote. She was anxious to get writing again though, she was just introducing the ghosts.

Artemis sighed and closed her book. "They've really messed up vampires and werewolves." She didn't really care about the vampire part, but messing with werewolves was crossing the line.

"That dark, huh?" Hades asked with a grin, "Will you ever write a happy ending?"

Orion was just finishing his drawing when he ran into someone. He grunted and looked up to see he ran into a girl with a book. He spoke, "Sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going."

"No, don't think I will." Hecate smiled over at Hades. Of course every now and then the hero of the story would have something good happen to them, but that was so they could loose it later. Her smile widened.

"It's alright." Artemis looked up to see Orion holding a sketch book. "What are you drawing?" Artemis was always straight to the point.

Hades rolled his eyes. He often told his sister that she had a rather cruel streak. He didn't want to imagine what'd she do in real life if someone angered her.

Orion blushed a little and showed her. He was normally very self-conscious about his drawings but he did run into her. He spoke, "It's my namesake's death."

"I see. You drew the lover's tale. Did you know in the other version Artemis hated Orion and when he said he could beat any animal Artemis sent out a scorpio to kill him. That's why Orion and Scorpio are never in the sky at the same time." Artemis smiled up at Orion and handed him back his sketch book. "Nice picture, by the way."

"Thanks," Orion told her, blushing a little. He continued, "I prefer the lover's tale. For one thing, I like to think that Artemis didn't hate all men. For another thing, I'm named after the man so I tend to think positively of him."

Artemis smiled. "I can understand that. I think they should combine the two versions to make everyone happy."

Orion grinned back, "Maybe they should. What's your name?"

(I guess I should.)

"Artemis." A sly smile came to her face. "And your Orion. I'm pretty sure we have some classes together."

Orion felt himself blush a little more but he still laughed, "That's ironic. I think I recognize you, though. You usually have a book in your face, though, to be fair, I'm always drawing."

Artemis scooted over on her bench. "Why don't you sit instead of stand. You really look like Orion from way down here."

Orion grinned and sat next to the girl with a shrug, "Okay. So, what do you read anyway?"

"Hunting stories, animals, mythical creatures. Anything along those lines. What do you draw?" This was the first time in a while that Artemis actually sat down and talked with someone her age. Not her parents or her siblings.

"Whatever comes to mind," Orion said with a shrug, "But I mostly draw fantasy and mythology, especially Greek. I don't know why."

"Might be because your name is Orion." Artemis said simply.

Aphrodite started rushing to school. Along the way she stopped several times to look into shop windows. When she arrived she found barely anyone there. Hmm. She looked at her watch and then at the school clock. "I'm 30 minutes early!"

Poseidon swiftly ducked into the library when the doors opened. He walked back to the section he always was at and pulled out the current book he was reading. It was another sea adventure.

"True," Orion said before grinning shyly at her, "It's strange that I'm named Orion and you're named Artemis, isn't it?"

"It is. Last year there was a Zues in my class. It was quite strange..." Artemis suddenly got the meaning in the words he had said. A light pink blush came to her cheeks.

Orion felt himself blush a little also as he realized that he was actually hitting on her. What was wrong with him? He was usually too shy to do that.
