Rise of Gaboria

Before the Gaborian Empire, there was simply a man: a Warlord by the name of Gaborius that dreamt of peace. In an age where different races and factions warred against each other for acclaim and resources, one man stepped forward and claimed rulership by Divine Right. He took a small piece of land with a few villages and one town and turned it into an Empire. He inspired the men whose service he inherited with promises of a new Golden Age and peace. With magic with potency never before seen outside the race of Mages, political guile, and military genius, he conquered nearby domains, but rather than treating conquered peoples as slaves, he did something different.

He called upon his vanquished foes to join him, treating them with dignity and sparing rulers who swore fealty to him. If not, they were executed. Soon, Gaborius had many lords sworn to him with other states allied to his growing kingdom, a council as a legislature and the workings of a system of trade established. Then, Gaborius met his greatest challenge: The Kingdom of the Mages.

The Kingdom of the Mages was the most powerful kingdom on the continent and long held influence over smaller, weaker states. It was inevitable that its High King would attempt to quash this "upstart". A few of Gaborious's allies/subjects betrayed him and a brutal war began. Three years later, the fighting has ceased at a stalemate and the man many now call "Emperor" rides to the Mages' Capital for Negotiations. Despite popular belief, however, neither he nor the Mages nor any of his company could have predicted the outcome, an outcome that would precipitate the rise of an Empire over a kingdom.

Personality: Gaborious is quite the charismatic individual. He can inspire those around him to charge the Gates of even the Netherworld itself. Born in an age of war, he has fought and struggled all his life with a single ideal: a strong, prosperous society. He is a kind, but pragmatic person, capable of great mercy or great ruthlessness. He is confident in his own abilities and believes in the advancement of those with merit and loyalty, no matter who they are.
History: Gaborious was the second-born son of the Warlord Gaber and the younger brother of Celab. As such, Gaborious has fought all his life, though he never resented his older brother for being his father's heir. The two brothers truly cared for each other and often fought together. Unfortunately for Gaborious, however, both his father and brother were killed in an ambush while he was at camp recovering from his wounds. The younger son became a Warlord at the age of 16.
Some would have expected him and his domain to quickly crumble or fall under the rule of a bigger state, but Gaborious proved to be an inspirational and competent leader of men. He not only fought invaders, he expanded his holdings and took on an ambitious goal: to unite the land. He declared that a god gifted him with a drop of his divine blood and, indeed, Gaborious' magic seemed to become greater than other mortals almost overnight. His kingdom is built on merit and justice and, after a long war with the Mage Kingdom, he rides to their capital with his Guard to discuss peace.
Abilities: Gaborious has exceptional magical power, most notably his affinity for lightning spells and his ability to increase his strength, speed, stamina, and agility. He is also an inspirational leader, able to encourage those around him to great feats.

Appearance: Fealt as she likes to appear
Personality: Fealt is a quiet girl almost to the point that people have mistaken her for being mute. She is capable of speech, but she will only talk when it interests her. Fealt is cold towards most people and very untrusting. She is not good in social situations and sometimes has difficulty understanding social norms. Fealt is a very focus person too and will fight, but Fealt would rather do things through stealth and deciet.
History: Fealt does not talk much about her past and it is unclear how old she is and where she came from. What is known about Fealt is that she was born a girl or at the very least prefers to be a girl and may be around 100 years of age. Fealt lives in the Capital of the Mage Kingdom and is in contact with the King. Fealt is used as a spy and assassin, but she does not swear loyalty to the Mages and states that if someone pays her better or she becomes endanger she will leave the Mages.
Abilities: Able to change form into almost anything

Personality: Charles is a loyal man and is follows order well. He is not submissive in any way though and will question orders or ideas if they seem to be a threat to innocents or morally wrong to him. Otherwise Charles does what he is told and will work hard to get things down. He hates to enforce rules through violence and force.
History: Charles was already born under the rule of Gaborius and so his loyalty was to the Emperor from an early age. Like most boys in the small town he was from he wanted to be a Knight and eventually he managed to become one. Over the years he rose slightly in rank and is on his way to be Liutentient. He is going to the Mage Kingdom hoping to prove himself and be promoted and also because out of most of the Knights he is a good negotiator.
Abilities: He is fairly strong and quick on his feet

Race: Mage with 1/4 neko blood
Appearance: Lilli
Personality: Lillian can be very hyperactive and will sometimes speak before she thinks. Lilli is fiercely loyal to her friends and to her people, but she is not always forthcoming with things. Lilli likes to help others and likes to make people smile. She is usually good-natured and doesn't get scared easily. A good middleman when disagreement arise.
History: Lillian grew up in a normal middle class Mage family. Lilli didn't really have an exciting life until her family had to give her away at the age of six. Her first place was as a maid in a noble family house. For a while, Lilli was content with working in the kitchen and working around the house, but she got abused by the youngest son (5) who thought that it would be funny to harass the new maid all the time. After complaining a number of times, they decided to replace her. Lilli spent a week on the streets before being brought into a clinic where she began to develop her healing magic. At the age of ten Lilli was finally made the Mage Princess's handmaiden along with a few other girls/women. Since then Lilli has befriended the Princess.
Abilities: She has a slightly heighten sense of smell and sound and has above average speed and balance. Like all Mages she is also pretty adapt with magic preferring Healing magic and other magic to help with her work

Personality: Celene is an overall nice and good girl, but she is a bit spoiled, due to her heritage, and can be quite conceited about herself and her blood at times. And she does not think things through a lot, which does not often work well for her.
History: Princess Celene was born as the sole heir to the Grand King of the Mage Kingdom. As the Crown Princess of her Kingdom, Celene has been raised to be a good future ruler for her nation, and to be a good person overall. Though of course Celene is a bit spoiled as a result of her raising and heritage. Aside from being the Crown Princess of the Mage Kingdom, Celene has otherwise led a relatively normal life. Though of course that will soon change...
Abilities: Like most of her people, Celene possesses great magical powers that surpass that of most other non-Magi magic users. Celene herself is an expert in transportation magic, and transfiguration. She does not know much combat magic, though, as it is seen as unseemly for a princess to know combat magic.
Weapons/Equipment: A hidden dagger, which has never actually been used by Celene. However, she is trained expertly with a bow. However, she has never killed a person with it before, and is skittish enough about hunting and slaying animals with her arrows.

Personality: Duras is an honorable man, and thus would do nothing to disgrace either himself or his Lord, Gaborious. He would also never do any sort of vile or evil thing, unless he was given such an order by Gaborious.
History: Duras was born in the same land as Gaborious was, and was a childhood friend of the man before he became a glorious conqueror and unifier. When Gaborious set out to unite the human lands, Duras followed him and became Gaborious' right hand man and most trusted advisor. Now Duras continues to follow his Lord, as they apparently come to now negotiate with the Magi people.
Abilities: Duras is an expert in fighting, and is a good swordsmaster himself, mostly. He can do no magic, though, unlike the Lord he has sworn his loyalty to. Duras also has the uncanny ability of being able to tell when someone is lying. Which is very useful, as you can imagine.
Weapons/Equipment: A slim and curved bladed sword, that does not look like much but could easily slice a man in two. It is not ideal for prolonged sword sparring, but it is affective in making mince-meat out of Duras's enemies. Along with the sword, he has two medium sized daggers and is proficient with a bow, as well.
