NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) 2012

October 1st is the day that the official site of NaNoWriMo is wiped clean for the new year.

National Novel Writing Month happens every November, and the goal is to write 50,000 words on a fiction story in 30 days.

Have you ever wanted to write a novel, but have never quite gotten around to it? Then this is the challenge for you.

You don't have to worry about grammar, about perfection, about the perfect idea, or even about plot.

This is my fourth year. I've reached 50k my last three years, and I plan on doing it again. This year is Siv's turn to have her story told. Some of you may know her from the Pirate RP on ASN, and a few of my short stories. Her story is called Freedom of Dance, and it's different from anything that I've ever written before. There's no big war or anything going on; instead, it's the story of her finding herself, and learning what it really means to be free.

Anyone else here attempting this challenge?

I've taken the task on once again this year. I tried last year, and only reached 37000. I was REALLY disappointed in myself. I really want to succeed as a writer, so you can imagine how let down I was. So this time I'm trying again. I really hope I can pull it off.

I am going to do it again this year. Hopefully I get to finish the story this time.

Well, NaNoWriMo has started for most of the world!

I still have a few hours, but I plan on staying up all night and writing, to get a good chunk of words stocked up for the days my homework keeps me from writing very much.

Has anybody here started? And, if so, how is it going?

I'm just beginng to write and it is going fine.

NaNoWriMo made my brain a'splode this year and go to places in characterization that I'd never thought I'd touch. And not always in a good way. But it was quite entertaining! ^^' I'm definitely doing NaNo again this year. Anyone attempting Script Frenzy in April?

I was interested in looking into this, so if I can--by the time this comes back around--I'll be sure to give it a try.

I won't be participating in Script Frenzy. I'm just not very interested in scripts. But I will be writing another novel during that time and I plan on doing it at the 50k in 30 days pace.

I'm really slow at updating this, but...

NaNoWriMo is practically here!!!

Who's attempting it this November? And do you know what you're writing yet?

I'm writing with my werewolf Kami. I can't work on her actual book right now, so instead I'll be writing a prequel of sorts, starting right after Javy dies. I've got four years to play with, and there's never a dull moment in Kami's life, so I'm excited to see where it goes!

Won't make any promises, but I'll try to participate.

I will be participating, writing a fanfic I've putt off, myself.

I am attempting to write something for this one. My third try to finish it. .... XD I will finish this time!

I would participate, but I really don't have the time. I can't really plan and write a novel of 50,000 words in 30 days.

Guess what time of the year it is! That's right, NaNoWriMo time!!!

Anybody participating this year? I definitively am.

My novel is set in modern day, with a few supernatural elements to it, but the main focus is a teenage girl named Safe, and her relationship with her abusive father. This is probably one of the more serious things I'll ever write, and it's an idea that has been in the back of my mind for years. I'm finally writing it down. I only really know the main overarching plot, though, so it'll be fun to discover the rest!

Anybody else know what they're going to write about?
